Sunday, Parshas Chayei Sarah — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta 'Snif Kedushas Yoel'. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the following bar mitzvah bochurim:
The bochur Pinchas Lemel Kish.
The bochur Avrohom Yaakov Moskowitz.
The bochur Chaim Forges.
The bochur Avrohom Menachem Buchinger.
The bochur Yoel Mendlowitz.
The bochur Avrohom Feigel.
The bochur Shmuel Aharon Mittelman.

After davening, the Rebbe recited the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 14, verse 2. Afterwards, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Rebbe's private room.

During the morning hours, the Rebbe's mechutan, HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Chaim Yosef Friedman shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Brezhan, came for a private visit with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, to receive his holy blessing on the occasion of the wedding of his daughter, the kallah. A pleasant conversation took place, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessings upon him.

In the afternoon, the Rebbe went up to the Heichal HaYeshiva 'Snif Divrei Yoel', where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the talmidim of the yeshiva in his private room, and at 5:00 the Rebbe davened Mincha in the yeshiva.

In the evening, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, dressed in Shabbos clothing, graced the kabbalas panim of the kallah, daughter of R' Yoel Weider, with the chassan, the bochur Mendel Ber Weider, at Ulam Kinor Dovid. The Rebbe drank a lechayim and wished the chassan, the mechutanim and the grandfathers well. Before the chuppah, the Rebbe blessed the chassan, and the Rebbe officiated at the kiddushin.

Afterwards, the Rebbe officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the mechutanim R' Naftali Yaakov Dresdner and R' Yoel Roth, at Ulam Beis Rachel Paradise.

The times of entry to the Rebbe (yechidus) were from 8:00 until approximately 11:15 at night, at his residence on Ohel Court.
The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a davened Maariv at around 9:30 and then continued receiving the public.

After the yechidus hours, the Rebbe arrived at the wedding simcha of the daughter of R' Yoel Weider. The Rebbe drank a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessings. After bentching, the badchan called up the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a to the mitzvah tantz, and the Rebbe led the holy dancing before the kallah and danced with the chassan, with the father of the kallah, R' Yoel, with the mechutanim and the grandfathers. The Rebbe left the hall at around 11:50.

Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Vayeira — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a.

On Friday night at around 5:15 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha. Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Shlomo Elazar Berkowitz.

The davening concluded at around 6:45. The crowd went over to wish a "Gut Shabbos," and the Rebbe shlit"a went home.

At around 8:20 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Shabbos seudah in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with the talmidim of the Mesivta, and began, as is his custom, to sing "Shalom Aleichem" with deep emotion and sweetness.

Eishes Chayil: the Rebbe's grandson, the bochur Meir Eliezer, son of HaGaon Rabbi Rav of the beis medrash, the Beirach Moshe shlit"a. Raising of the cup for Kiddush: Rabbi Nachman Kahana shlit"a, son of the Seredna Rebbe of Bnei Brak shlit"a.

Before the fish the Rebbe shlit"a said a few words to the bochurim: "I hope, IY"H, to visit the kehilla in Montreal this week. An enticement has arisen among the bochurim to travel. 'Not in these do I delight'; I despise propaganda. All these things bring no honor; rather, one should remain in yeshiva engaged in Torah."

The Rebbe shlit"a honored people with the zemiros. Kol Mekadesh: Rabbi Nachman Kahana shlit"a; Menucha V'Simcha: R' Chaim Hecht (Beitar).

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "And he stood over them under the tree and they ate," and explained in the manner of derush on the sugya of eating not in the usual manner.

Kah Echsof: Rabbi Yoel Yosef Teitelbaum shlit"a (Williamsburg). Birkas Hamazon: the HaGaon, Rav of the beis medrash Beis Boruch shlit"a.

After bentching, R' Yitzchak Shimon Oestreicher, a prominent Belzer chassid of Boro Park, brought the Rebbe a silver becher that the holy Rebbe, the Maharid of Belz zy"a, used during the period he stayed in Munkatch during the First World War. The Rebbe made a brachah, drank from the becher, wished "L'chaim," and expressed his thanks.

This week the Rebbe shlit"a told stories and accounts of the holy Maharid of Belz zy"a, whose yahrzeit falls on Wednesday, 22 Cheshvan. Kah Ribon Olam: R' Moshe Schwartz (London).

The newly married chasanim went around taking fruit, as it was the seventh day: R' Aharon Yosef Weiss (Boro Park). The seudah concluded at around 11:30.

On Shabbos Kodesh Day

On Shabbos Kodesh morning the Rebbe shlit"a entered at 9:20. Pesukei D'Zimra: R' Moshe Schwartz (London). The Rebbe shlit"a then approached the amud for Shacharis.

After his aliyah the Rebbe shlit"a recited the Mi Shebeirach and naming for the birth of a daughter for the following baalei simcha:

The Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash for Mincha and Shalosh Seudos at around 5:10. Mincha: R' Bentzion Chaim Zaldan. Hotza'ah and Hachnasah: R' Yitzchak Yosef Grad (Williamsburg). Kohen: R' Yoel Glanzer; Levi: HaGaon R' Chaim Yehoshua Levy shlit"a; Shlishi: HaGaon R' Meir Leib Katina shlit"a; Hagbah: the Rebbe shlit"a; Gelilah: R' Pinchas Mordechai Klein (Williamsburg).

The Rebbe shlit"a honored people with the zemiros at Shalosh Seudos. Odeh: R' Noach Gefen; Shir HaMaalos: R' Moshe Goldstein.

For the Torah, the Rebbe shlit"a spoke on the verse "And I will take a morsel of bread," and explained that through the beliefs one holds and by cleaving to the Creator — "And you who cleave to Hashem your God are all alive today" — one is on the level of life and is never rejected, and even if one has sinned, chas v'shalom, one can always return through teshuvah.

Yedid Nefesh: R' Eliyahu Dovid Greenfeld (Williamsburg). Kel Mistater: R' Yitzchak Yosef Grad. The Rebbe shlit"a made a blessing over the cup and recited Sheva Brachos.

Maariv on Motzei Shabbos: R' Shlomo Zalman Stein. After Havdalah the crowd went over to wish a good week. The davening concluded at around 7:30, and the Rebbe shlit"a was escorted with song and music, with "Ki Malachav," on the occasion of the uplifting visit this week, IY"H, to our holy kehilla in Montreal.

After Havdalah the Rebbe shlit"a went to visit his brother-in-law, the HaGaon, Av Beis Din of Montreal shlit"a, who is staying these days at the home of his son-in-law HaGaon R' Shlomo Rubin shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Ziditshov, Kiryas Joel. A warm conversation developed, and the Rebbe bestowed upon him from his holy blessings.

At around 10:00 the Rebbe shlit"a participated in the Sheva Brachos simcha of the son of HaGaon R' Naftali Hirtzka Zwebel shlit"a, Rosh Kollel in Williamsburg. A warm conversation ensued, the Rebbe drank l'chaim and offered good wishes, and then joined in a dance with the chasan and the mechutanim.

Afterward, at around 10:20, the Rebbe went to the halls of Beis Rachel Paradise, where an assembly of Torah educators and a Melaveh Malkah were held for the maggidei shiur of the 9 branches of the yeshiva ketana in Kiryas Joel. The Rebbe drank l'chaim and delivered brief words of Torah and blessing. The Rebbe left the hall at around 10:40.

Thursday, Parshas Vayeira — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the morning, before Shacharis, the bris of the newborn son of R' Yoel Schoenfeld took place, at which the Rebbe served as sandek.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Ohel Feiga beis medrash on the occasion of the bris milah of the newborn son of his grandson Rabbi Baruch Rokeach shlit"a, son of HaGaon Rabbi Av Beis Din of Karov shlit"a and son-in-law of HaGaon Rabbi, the Rav of the Ohel Feiga beis medrash shlit"a, may they have much joy from him.
The talmidim of the Divrei Yoel branch davened along.
Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim.

During the Torah reading the Rebbe went up for hagbah, and after davening a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room.

Afterwards the bris milah simcha took place.
Mohel: the grandfather, the Dushinsky Rebbe shlit"a; sandek: the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a; standing sandek: the other grandfather, HaGaon Rabbi, the Rav of the Ohel Feiga beis medrash shlit"a.
The Rebbe honored the grandfather, HaGaon Av Beis Din of Karov shlit"a, with reciting the blessings, and the child was named in Yisroel "Meir," after the grandfather, the Kozlov Rebbe zt"l.
After the bris the congregation passed by in a line to wish the Rebbe shlit"a mazel tov.

Afterwards the seudas bris milah took place in the main hall of the beis medrash. During the seudah, divrei Torah were delivered by the baal simcha, the father of the baby shlit"a, and by the grandfathers, HaGaon Av Beis Din of Karov shlit"a, the Dushinsky Rebbe shlit"a, and the other grandfather, HaGaon Rabbi, the Rav of the Ohel Feiga beis medrash shlit"a. The Rebbe honored his grandson Rabbi Avrohom Yehoshua Heshil Rokeach shlit"a, son-in-law of HaGaon Av Beis Din of Sighet shlit"a, with "Yom LeYabasha." Afterwards the Rebbe delivered holy words.
The Rebbe honored the Dushinsky Rebbe shlit"a with leading Birkas Hamazon, and with the Harachaman's, HaRav R' Dovid Shlomo Eckstein shlit"a, director of our yeshiva, the Divrei Yoel branch, and the yeshiva's rebbeim, HaRav R' Yosef Dovid Levy shlit"a, HaRav R' Hershel Goldberger shlit"a, and HaRav R' Dovid Lichtenstein shlit"a. It ended at around 1:00.
On his way out, the Rebbe entered the magnificently renovated mikvah, which was doubled in size and rebuilt this summer, may it be for long life, accompanied by R' Moshe Eli Wertzberger, the life-spirit of the beis medrash.

In the afternoon at around 5:20 the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home.

After Mincha, the Rebbe went to visit the Spinka Beis Yitzchak Rebbe shlit"a, to extend his blessings on the occasion of the wedding of his grandson, which took place this evening in the halls of Beis Rochel Paradise. A pleasant conversation took place. The Rebbe honored the Spinka Rebbe shlit"a with conducting the kiddushin, and honored with lechayim and bestowed of his holy blessings.

In the evening, before the yechidus hours, the current Governor of New York contacted the home of the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a to thank him for the support in the recent elections, and reiterated his existing promise to stand at the right hand of chareidi Jews in New York in every way possible, especially in the area of the struggle regarding proper chinuch.

In the evening the Rebbe shlit"a conducted the kiddushin at the chuppah of the mechutanim R' Yoel Krausz – R' Yechezkel Katz, in Kinor Dovid hall.

Yechidus hours inside the holy chamber were from 8:15 until 11:45 at night.

During the yechidus hours the Rebbe shlit"a read the tenaim of the mechutanim R' Yoel Friedman – R' Elchonon Taub.
And of the mechutanim R' Moshe Avrohom Shimon Salamon a"h – R' Yitzchak Eli Bitman.
The tenaim took place in the halls of his holy home.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Maariv at around 10:20 and afterwards continued receiving the public.
