Motzei Shabbos, the night of 7 Chanukah, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At around 10:25 the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered our great beis medrash in Williamsburg for the lighting of the Chanukah candles, amid a large crowd, "in the multitude of the people is the glory of the King." The Rebbe poured in the oil and recited the blessings over the lighting.
Afterwards the Rebbe said the zemiros, and stirring melodies were sung, and the choir sang the piyutim as is customary.
Among others present were the Spinka Beis Yitzchak Rebbe shlit"a and HaGaon Rabbi Moshe, Av Beis Din of Volkan, shlit"a.
After the zemiros the Rebbe distributed coins to the singers and to the children of the choir.

Afterwards the Rebbe shlit"a delivered a holy discourse of Torah teaching and analysis on the sugya in Maseches Shabbos of "kevsa zakuk lah," then continued in the way of aggadah, and concluded with his holy blessings.

After the discourse, singing of melodies continued. The Rebbe drank lechayim and bestowed his holy blessings. It ended at around 11:40.

Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Mikeitz, Shabbos Chanukah, 1 Teves — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a in the midst of our holy kehilla in Williamsburg.

On Erev Shabbos afternoon, after the fifth hour, the Rebbe shlit"a lit the menorah in his holy home and recited the Haneiros until Maoz Tzur, as is customary.

On Friday night at around 5:10, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and went up to daven Mincha.

After Mincha, the appeal for the Beis Din of our holy kehilla in Williamsburg took place, with HaGaon Rabbi Hersh Leib Bernstein shlit"a, dayan and moreh tzedek of our beis medrash Beis Menachem Tzvi and rav of the Vaad HaKashrus of Kiryas Joel, speaking.

Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Chaim Heller. After davening, the crowd went over to wish a "Gut Shabbos" and greet the Rebbe with "Shalom," and the Rebbe shlit"a went home to his holy residence.

At around 9:35, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the tish in the hall of the great beis medrash and began, as is his holy custom, "Shalom Aleichem" with emotion and sweetness.

Eishes Chayil: the Rebbe's grandson, the bochur Yisroel Dushinsky, son of the Gaon, rav of Beis Medrash Ohel Feiga shlit"a. Lifting of the cup for Kiddush: the Gaon Av Beis Din of Williamsburg shlit"a.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "U'tavach tevach v'hachein," by way of pilpul and derush, and explained that since the eighth day is on account of the miracle of the victory in the war, it is indeed counted as a salvation of the body, and one makes seudos.

On Shabbos Kodesh morning, the Rebbe shlit"a entered at 9:25. Pesukei D'zimra: R' Avrohom Moshe Falkowitz. The Rebbe shlit"a went up to daven Shacharis and Hallel, and for Chazaras HaShatz he sent his grandson, Rabbi Chaim Hersh Teitelbaum shlit"a of Boro Park.

Hotzaah and Hachnasah were given as honors to: HaGaon Rabbi Nachum Elisha Horowitz shlit"a, HaGaon Rabbi Aharon Silberstein shlit"a, and HaGaon Rabbi Mordechai Yitzchak Lazar shlit"a.

Mincha: R' Akiva Hirsch; Hotzaah and Hachnasah: R' Shlomo Zalman Stein; Kohen: R' Yaakov Yehoshua Sander; Levi: R' Chaim Levy (Vienna); Shlishi: HaGaon Rabbi Yehuda Ber Teller shlit"a; Hagbah: the Rebbe shlit"a; Gelilah: R' Yoel Frankel.

The Rebbe shlit"a honored people with the zemiros at Shalosh Seudos. Odeh: R' Yudel Wertzberger; Shir HaMaalos: R' Chaim Levy.

In his Torah, the Rebbe shlit"a took up the verse "U'tavach tevach v'hachein" and explained that at the miracle of Chanukah, the Jews attained such a great level that the seven heavens and the earth were opened to them, in the manner of "Atah horei'sa lada'as ki Hashem hu haElokim ein od milvado," as at Matan Torah, and they merited great levels of understanding through the holy Chashmonaim, and through this, all kinds of spiritual and material salvations are bestowed until today.

Leil Hey of Chanukah 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At the time of Rabbeinu Tam, the Rebbe shlit"a davened Maariv in his holy home. Before Maariv, the bochur Shneur Zalman Eckstein lit the menorah.

At around 9:55, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the great beis medrash in Williamsburg for the lighting of the Chanukah candles, amid a great crowd in the splendor of a king. The Rebbe poured in the oil and recited the brachos with holy fervor.
Afterwards, the Rebbe recited the zemiros while inspiring melodies were sung, and then the choir sang the piyutim as is customary.

Afterwards, the Rebbe shlit"a delivered words of Torah discourse and pilpul on the sugya in Maseches Shabbos regarding "kevsa zakuk la," and then continued with words of aggadah, explaining that through the mitzvah of tefillin one connects to Hashem, and consequently one is not nullified among the nations. At the conclusion of his remarks, the Rebbe spoke about matters currently on the agenda concerning the chinuch decrees in New York, and concluded with his holy blessings.

After the words of Torah, the singing of niggunim continued. The Rebbe drank lechayim and bestowed his holy blessings. It ended at around 11:30.

Friday, Parshas Miketz, Hey of Chanukah

In the morning, the Rebbe shlit"a went to the private mikvah of the Rabbani, the philanthropist R' Wolf Landau, and then engaged in Torah study in his study.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the great beis medrash in Williamsburg together with the hundreds of students of the 7th, 8th and 9th grades in our holy mosdos.
Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the following bar mitzvah bochurim:
The bochur Yoel Taub.
The bochur Yechiel Yuda Glick.
The bochur Yoel Glick.
The bochur Avrohom Mordechai Bosch.
The bochur Avrohom Kalman Eliezer Massri.
The Rebbe shlit"a approached Hallel with great fervor, and during the Torah reading, Hagbah took place.
After davening, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the heichal of the beis medrash.

The Night of the Fourth Day of Chanukah – 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At around 6:15 the Rebbe shlit"a davened Maariv in his holy home. Before Maariv, the bochur Amram Yoel Shalaman lit the menorah.

In the evening, the Chanukah seudah for the orphans, boys and girls, of our holy kehilla took place in his holy home at the Ohel Katan, at the personal invitation of the faithful father and shepherd, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a.
A very rich seudah was set out, separately for the orphan boys, headed by the Rebbe shlit"a, and separately for the orphan girls, through the Rebbetzin shlit"a.

These Candles Are Holy

At around 9:30 the Rebbe shlit"a entered his holy home for the lighting of the Chanukah candles privately with the orphans. The Rebbe shlit"a poured in the oil and recited the blessings with holy fervor.
Afterwards the Rebbe recited the zemiros and everyone together sang the melodies, melodies of inspiration, praise and thanksgiving.

After the candle lighting, the party took place with a very rich program for all the participants, with the participation of the Rebbe shlit"a. R' Yonason Schwartz performed and delighted with chazzanus selections, and cheered the children with interesting tricks in honor of the day. The Rebbe personally spent a longer time with the children, and it was an opportunity for everyone to ask the Rebbe shlit"a questions, to which the Rebbe replied with a pleasant countenance and conversed with good taste and wisdom. Afterwards the Rebbe shlit"a delivered moving holy words for an extended time, full of chizuk and emotion, and in the course of it bestowed his holy blessings.

Afterwards the Rebbe personally distributed gifts and Chanukah gelt to each one according to age. It concluded at around 12:00.
The Rebbe shlit"a warmly thanked the distinguished askanim, among the other distinguished askanim, R' Aryeh Herskowitz, R' Eliezer Roth, R' Mordechai Scheer.

Afterwards the Rebbe shlit"a went over to the lechayim of the vort celebrating the engagement of his granddaughter the kallah, daughter of the son-in-law of the Rebbe, HaGaon Rabbi, Rav of the Beis Medrash Ohel Feiga shlit"a. A longer conversation developed with the distinguished grandfathers and mechutanim of the lineage of the chosson and kallah. The Rebbe drank lechayim and shared from his holy blessings. It concluded at around 1:00.

Thursday, Parshas Miketz, Fourth Day of Chanukah

In the morning before Shacharis, brisos took place.
For the newborn son of R' Berish Laub, where the Rebbe was sandek and mohel.
For the newborn son of R' Shimon Rubinfeld, where the Rebbe was sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal of the Mesivta, Beirach Moshe branch. Before davening, the Rebbe helped the bar mitzvah bochur the bochur Moshe Yuda Yekusiel Hirsch (Williamsburg) put on tefillin.
The Rebbe shlit"a approached Hallel with great inspiration, and during the Torah reading, Hagbah took place.
After davening, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room.

In the afternoon at around 5:10, the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home.

Wednesday, Parshas Miketz, Third Day of Chanukah – 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal of the Mesivta, Yoel Moshe branch. Before davening, the Rebbe helped the following bar mitzvah bochurim put on tefillin.

The bochur Shlomo Zalman Gelb.
The Rebbe shlit"a approached Hallel with great inspiration, and during the Torah reading, Hagbah took place.
After davening, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room.

In the afternoon at around 5:10, the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home.
After Mincha, the Rebbe greeted HaGaon Rabbi, the Av Beis Din of Williamsburg shlit"a, who returned home on Monday from Antwerp and came to celebrate a Chanukah party with the talmidim of the Mesivta. The Rabbi shlit"a conveyed a warm greeting from our holy kehilla in Antwerp, where he had stayed this past 21 Kislev and Shabbos Parshas Vayeishev, and especially from the yeshiva ketana, which was opened this season with great success.
