Wednesday, Parshas Vayigash

In the morning, before Shacharis, the bris of the newborn son of R' Leibush Apfel took place, at which the Rebbe served as sandek.

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Vi'Yoel Moshe branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the following bar mitzvah bochurim:
The bochur Shlomo Michoel Markowitz.
The bochur Yitzchok Tzvi Klein.
The bochur Avrohom Levinger.
The bochur Yoel Kish.
The bochur Avrohom Yosef Friedman.
After davening, the Rebbe recited the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 16, verse 2. Afterwards, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Rebbe's private room.

In the afternoon, the bris of the newborn son of R' Dovid Katz took place in the Halacha Brurah beis medrash, at which the Rebbe served as sandek.
After the bris, the Rebbe davened Mincha there.
Afterwards, the Rebbe shlit"a went up to the Heichal HaYeshiva, Divrei Yoel branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the yeshiva's talmidim in his private room.

In the evening, the Rebbe shlit"a officiated at kiddushin at the chuppah of the following mechutanim:
R' Avrohom Yitzchok Moskowitz (of Williamsburg) - R' Levi Yitzchok Dovid Landau, at Kinor Dovid hall.
R' Uziel Lefkowitz - R' Yonason Bleier, at Keren Vi'Yoel Moshe hall.
R' Avrohom Yehoshua Glauber - R' Moshe Eliyahu Rubin, at Beis Rochel Paradise hall.

Entry times to the Rebbe's room were from approximately 8:15 until 1:00 at night.

During the entry times, the Gaon HaGadol, the Av Beis Din shlit"a, entered together with his mechutan, HaGaon HaTzaddik the Seredna Rebbe shlit"a. A lengthy Torah conversation took place; the Dayan shlit"a presented the Rebbe shlit"a with his new sefer Agalei Devash, volume 2, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessings.

The Rebbe shlit"a read the tena'im at the tena'im held in his holy home for the following mechutanim:
R' Kalman Filaf - and R' Shmuel Schlesinger (of Williamsburg).
R' Shaul Greenfeld - R' Shlomo Hersh Fischer.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Maariv at approximately 11:45, and afterwards continued receiving the public.

Tuesday, Parshas Vayigash — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis with the talmidim of the Mesivta, Eitz Chaim branch, Shiur Gimmel, in Beis Medrash Beis Shalom on Shinava Street.

During the morning hours the Rebbe shlit"a made his weekly visit to the distinguished bakery of our holy kehilla.

In the afternoon the Rebbe shlit"a went up to the Heichal HaYeshiva, Divrei Yoel branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the talmidim of the yeshiva in his private room, and at 5:00 the Rebbe davened Mincha in the yeshiva.

In the evening the Rebbe shlit"a traveled to Williamsburg for the weekly reception hours.
The reception hours in the inner sanctum took place from approximately 8:15 until 12:30 after midnight, in his pleasant home on Hooper St.

During the reception hours, HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Avrohom Yehoshua Heshel Rokeach shlit"a, the Kozlov Rebbe, entered to receive his holy blessings ahead of the wedding of his son, the chosson. A pleasant conversation developed and the Rebbe bestowed of his holy blessings.
Likewise, HaGaon HaTzaddik R' Avrohom Yona Schwartz shlit"a, Gaavad of Vienna, Austria, who is currently here ahead of several simchas in his family, came to visit. A pleasant conversation developed, and the Rebbe bestowed of his holy blessings.
A lechayim gathering was also held on the occasion of the engagement of the daughter of the distinguished philanthropist R' Shalom Yitzchak Yakubovitch, where the Rebbe drank a lechayim and bestowed of his holy blessings upon the chosson, the kallah, and the esteemed mechutanim.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Maariv at around 11:15, and afterwards continued receiving the public.

At around 12:50 the Rebbe shlit"a arrived at the halls of Ohr HaChaim Vizhnitz in Boro Park to grace the wedding of a grandson of his holy grandfather the Beirach Moshe zy"a, a grandson of his brother-in-law HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din of Montreal shlit"a. The chosson is the son of his son-in-law HaRav HaGaon R' Yoel Teitelbaum shlit"a, son of HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din of Klausenburg shlit"a, and the kallah is the daughter of HaRav HaGaon R' Yaakov Yisroel Rubin shlit"a, a rebbi in Yeshivas Be'er HaTorah, son of HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din of Glogow z"l, and son-in-law of HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din of Cieszanów and Rosh Yeshivas Be'er HaTorah, shlit"a.
The Rebbe shlit"a drank a lechayim and offered good wishes to the chosson, the mechutanim, and the grandfathers. Afterwards the mitzvah tantz was announced, and the Rebbe danced the holy dances before the kallah for an extended time with fiery enthusiasm, and afterwards danced with the chosson and the mechutanim, and in a special dance with his brother-in-law HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din of Montreal shlit"a.
On his way out the Rebbe, as is customary, wished the kallah mazel tov, and especially his sister the Rebbetzin of Montreal tlita, and left the hall on his way home to his pleasant residence in Kiryas Joel.

Leil Zos Chanukah 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At around 6:10 the Rebbe shlit"a davened Maariv in his holy home. Before Maariv, the Gabbai HaMishpacha, R' Chananya Yom Tov Lipa Deitsch lit the menorah.

At around 9:15 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Beis Medrash HaGadol for the lighting of the Chanukah candles, in the presence of thousands of chassidim. The Rebbe poured in the oil and recited the brachos with great fire and fervor.
Afterwards the Rebbe sang the zemiros while stirring melodies of hisorerus were sung, and the choir sang the piyutim as customary. R' Moshe Levi Braun delighted with chazzanus at the "Yonim" passage, and R' Shlomo Hersh Eckstein led the singing of Mizmor Shir Chanukas as customary, accompanied by song and music.
The Rebbe shlit"a went to the tish and the singing of melodies of hisorerus and deveikus continued for an extended time.
Afterwards the Rebbe shlit"a delivered divrei Torah, words of derush and pilpul on the sugya in Maseches Shabbos of "kibsa zakuk lah," and then continued with words of aggadah, that through the mitzvos of tefillin and lighting the menorah one subdues the seven names of the yetzer hara and becomes sanctified and connected to Hashem, and concluded with holy brachos.

After the divrei Torah the singing of melodies of Hallel and thanksgiving continued. The Rebbe drank lechayim and bestowed holy brachos, and once again delivered words of Torah, explaining that Zos Chanukah shows that Hashem is our God and is singular and unique, and that it brings down parnassah, and concluded with abundant brachos.

Afterwards the Rebbe shlit"a went into Cheder Yosef Eliyahu, where the Rebbe distributed coins to the children of the choir and a set of Lev Aharon to the singers. It ended at around 11:15.

In his holy home a distribution of Chanukah money took place for several groups of yungerleit learning in the Mivtzar HaKollelim Kiryas Joel, through the donation of R' Moshe Yaakov Yosef Brach. Several melodies were sung and the Rebbe distributed stipends to the yungerleit. Then the Rebbe drank lechayim and warmly extended his holy brachos to the distinguished donor and to the entire community.
Monday, Parshas Vayigash, Zos Chanukah

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal of Yeshiva Gedolah, Shiur 4. Before davening, the Rebbe laid tefillin with the bar mitzvah bochurim:
the son of R' Michel Berkowitz shlit"a.
the bochur Shimon Moshe Neustein.
the bochur Yoel Levinger.
The Rebbe shlit"a went up to Hallel with great hisorerus, and during the Torah reading there was a hagbah.

After davening a lechayim gathering took place, and a pleasant conversation developed with the HaGaon HaGadol, the Av Beis Din shlit"a, and the Serednye Rebbe shlit"a, both grandfathers of a bar mitzvah bochur, and with the roshei yeshiva. The Rebbe drank lechayim, bestowed holy brachos, and distributed Chanukah coins to the bochurim.
Afterwards the Rebbe shlit"a delivered holy words and chizuk to the bochurim and concluded with his holy bracha.

Then the ceremony of burning the wicks took place in the yeshiva courtyard together with the talmidei hayeshiva. The Rebbe placed the kvitlach into the bonfire and danced holy dances for several minutes.

In the afternoon at around 4:30 the Rebbe shlit"a davened Mincha in his holy home.

At 5:05 the Rebbe shlit"a arrived at the Talmud Torah building, the Hirsch-Goldberger-Landau building on Rachmistrivka Street, for the pure seudah in honor of Zos Chanukah together with hundreds of talmidim of Shiur 3 from the 9 branches of the yeshivos ketanos of Kiryas Joel.
The Rebbe washed for the seudah in honor of the day.
During the seudah, Chanukah melodies and Yamim Noraim melodies were sung. For Mizmor Shir Chanukas the Rebbe honored HaGaon R' Baruch Shlomo Weinberger shlit"a, head administrator.

The Rebbe shlit"a delivered divrei Torah, words of derush and pilpul on the sugya in Maseches Shabbos of "kibsa zakuk lah," then continued with words of aggadah, and then spoke at length with words of guidance for the bochurim, and concluded with his holy bracha.
Afterwards the singing of melodies of Hallel and thanksgiving continued. Birkas Hamazon: HaGaon R' Wolf Landau shlit"a, administrator of the Rav Tov branch. It ended at around 7:00.

In the evening the Rebbe shlit"a officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the following mechutanim:
R' Chaim Hersh Kohn – HaRav R' Yechiel Yitzchak Spitzer shlit"a, at Kinor David hall.
R' Aharon Shaul Sandel – R' Shlomo Schonbrun, at Beis Rachel Paradise hall.

Times of entry for yechidus were from around 8:00 until 11:45 at night, in his holy home on Uhel Court.

The Rebbe shlit"a read the tenaim in the tenaim hall in his holy home for the mechutanim R' Michel Greenfeld – R' Meir Zaldan.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Maariv at around 11:45.
