Monday, Parshas Mishpatim — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek on the occasion of the bris of the newborn grandson of Rabbi Lipa Ashkenazi shlit"a, son-in-law of the HaGaon Rabbi, rav of Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek shlit"a, and son-in-law of the Karov Av Beis Din shlit"a.
Before davening, the Rebbe shlit"a put on tefillin for the following bar mitzvah bochurim:
The bochur Yoel Teitelbaum.
The bochur Chaim Mordechai Mittelman (of Williamsburg).
During the Torah reading, the Rebbe went up for hagbah.

After davening, the bris took place. Mohel: the Rebbe shlit"a; sandek: the grandfather, the Karov Rebbe shlit"a; the one holding the baby while standing: the other grandfather, the HaGaon Rabbi, rav of Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek shlit"a; blessings: the Rebbe shlit"a. The child was named Yisroel Yitzchak after his grandfather, the Alesk Rebbe zt"l.
After the bris, the entire congregation went over to wish the Rebbe shlit"a mazel tov, and a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the hall of the beis medrash.

Afterwards the seudas bris milah took place in the hall of the beis medrash. At the seudah, the baal simcha, the father of the baby shlit"a, spoke, as did the grandfather, the Karov Rebbe shlit"a, and the other grandfather, the HaGaon Rabbi, rav of Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek shlit"a.
For "yom libeshah" the Rebbe honored his grandson Rabbi Boruch Rokeach shlit"a, son-in-law of the Gaon Rabbi, rav of Beis Medrash Ohel Pigah shlit"a.
Afterwards the Rebbe shlit"a delivered holy words on the topic of bris milah, and warmly wished the baal simcha, the grandfathers, and the entire congregation well.
The Rebbe shlit"a recited the blessing over the cup, and honored his sons and sons-in-law, the HaGaon Rabbi, rav of Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek shlit"a, with the Harachaman prayers. It concluded at around 1:15.

In the afternoon at around 6:00, the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home.

The times of entry to the Rebbe's room were from around 8:00 until 11:30 at night, in his holy home on Ohel Katt.

The Rebbe shlit"a read the tenaim in the tenaim hall in his holy home between the mechutanim R' Shimon Yisroel Horowitz (of Williamsburg) and R' Chaim Yechezkel Wertzberger shlit"a.

After the times of entry, at around 11:35, the Rebbe shlit"a went over to the halls of Kinor David, where the Rebbe participated in the Sheva Brachos celebration at the home of the HaGaon HaGadol, the Av Beis Din shlit"a, on the occasion of the marriage of his grandchildren: the kallah, the daughter of his son HaRav R' Aharon Yekusiel Berkowitz shlit"a, and the chosson, the son of his son HaRav R' Lipa Berkowitz shlit"a, a moreh tzedek in our kehilla. A lengthy conversation developed in Torah discussion and pilpul on the topic of ribbis. The Rebbe drank lechayim and wished well to the Av Beis Din shlit"a, the chassanim, the mechutanim, and the entire congregation. After Birkas Hamazon, the Rebbe recited the Sheva Brachos and began dancing with the chassanim and then with the Av Beis Din shlit"a.

At around 12:05 the Rebbe davened Maariv in Beis Medrash Beis Mordechai. After Maariv, the child Mordechai Dov, son of HaRav R' Aharon Yekusiel Berkowitz shlit"a, gave an answer to the question that the Rebbe had left for the ninth-grade students at the start of the zman in Parshas Shekalim.

Sunday, Parshas Mishpatim — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning, before Shacharis, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Lipa Ackerman, at which the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Beis Medrash HaGadol. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
The bochur Hershel Wertheimer, bar mitzvah (Monsey).
The bochur Zalman Leib Waldman (Williamsburg).
The bochur Yoel Guttman.
The bochur Yoel Fuchs.
After davening, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Rebbe's private room.

At around 1:15 the Rebbe shlit"a set out on the way to Boro Park, and at around 2:45 the Rebbe shlit"a arrived at the event of affixing the mezuzah and a lechayim gathering for the new beis medrash Tefilah L'Moshe of our holy kehilla in Boro Park. The Rebbe affixed the mezuzah on the main entrance, after which a lechayim gathering took place. The Rebbe drank lechayim and bestowed blessings upon the rav of the beis medrash, HaGaon Rabbi Tzvi Elimelech Teitelbaum shlit"a, and upon the entire community, and then delivered words of Torah and a blessing. It concluded at around 3:15.

From there the Rebbe shlit"a set out on the way to Williamsburg.
The Rebbe arrived at around 3:45 at the new building of the yeshivos ketanos, the "Mivtzar HaTorah" branch under the direction of HaRav R' Nata Moskowitz shlit"a and the "Ahavas HaTorah" branch under the direction of HaRav R' Chaim Shlomo Rottenberg shlit"a. First, a lechayim gathering was held in the hall of the beis medrash of the Mivtzar HaTorah branch, attended by the bochurim of both branches. Several niggunim were sung, and the Rebbe delivered words of Torah and encouraged learning Torah for uninterrupted hours from Rosh Chodesh Adar until Purim as a preparation for the great Yom Tov. He also spoke words of mussar about impure vessels and about singing melodies from unkosher sources, and concluded with words of praise for the yeshivos and gave his holy blessing.

Afterwards the Rebbe went down to the "Ahavas HaTorah" branch, where the Rebbe affixed a mezuzah on the gate of the beis medrash and looked around the yeshiva. It concluded at around 4:15.

From there the Rebbe shlit"a went over to the new building of the Bais HaOfeh of our holy kehilla. The Rebbe looked around for an extended time throughout the entire new building and everything around it, all the rooms, storage areas, and so on, as the director of the Bais HaOfeh, R' Baruch Yuda Spitzer, pointed out the many hiddurim and chumros. Afterwards the Rebbe separated challah.
A lechayim gathering was held in the corridor. The Rebbe drank lechayim and bestowed blessings upon the entire community, and especially upon the director of the Bais HaOfeh, and delivered words of Torah and praised the effort and the chumros that the esteemed director invested to establish this for the sake of Hashem's name and glory, under the personal supervision of HaGaon Av Beis Din of the holy community shlit"a, who stands guard, and concluded with his holy blessing to all the workers and those engaged in the holy work. On the way out, the Rebbe gave a gift of a Kos Shel Eliyahu to the director of the Bais HaOfeh, R' Baruch Yuda Spitzer, and then affixed a mezuzah on the main entrance. It concluded at around 4:50.

From there the Rebbe shlit"a went over to our great beis medrash in Williamsburg. The Rebbe looked in on the Kollel Ahavas Kadumim, which takes place in one of the davening halls, and afterwards davened Mincha in Room 2 of the newly renovated davening halls on the Rispler floor.

After Mincha the Rebbe went over to the building of the Beis Medrash HaGadol, where the Rebbe looked into the great hall, which was filled to capacity with the kollel learners, and derived great nachas from the majestic sight.

Then the Rebbe went up to the ezras nashim of the Beis Medrash HaGadol to the simcha of the pidyon haben of the son of his grandson, HaRav Shalom Yechezkel Shraga Rubin shlit"a, son-in-law of HaGaon Av Beis Din of Sighet shlit"a.
As the Kohen, the one redeeming, served the Rebbe's grandson, HaRav R' Yoel HaKohen Glantz shlit"a, son-in-law of HaGaon Av Beis Din of Williamsburg shlit"a. Joyous niggunim were sung, and the Rebbe drank lechayim and bestowed blessings upon the baal simcha, the grandfathers, the mechutanim, and the entire community. At around 5:50 the Rebbe left the hall.

From there the Rebbe shlit"a went to comfort the mourners, the Rabbanim HaGeonim, sons of HaGaon Rabbi Berish Laufer z"l, on the passing of their mother, the Rebbetzin a"h. Afterwards, at around 6:10, the Rebbe set out on the way home to Kiryas Joel.

In the evening the Rebbe shlit"a officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the following mechutanim:

Motzei Shabbos 'B'tzeil HaKodesh'

At around 9:50, talmidim of Yeshiva U'Mesivta of Lakewood, who had spent Shabbos in Kiryas Joel, entered the Rebbe's holy home in Kiryas Joel. The Rebbe inquired about their learning and imparted his holy blessings.

At around 10:30, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a arrived in Monsey for the chanukas habayis of the magnificent new Beis Rachel building, the "Neustadt Building," of our holy institutions in Monsey. It took place in an elegant, lavish setting on the lower floor of the building, which is being established as a simcha hall for members of the kehilla. The distinguished donors and their families were in attendance.
The chairman of the event, HaRav R' Dovid Yoel Stauber shlit"a, rebbi in the Yeshiva Ketana Kinyan Torah branch, spoke first, followed by the HaGaon HaTzaddik, the Av Beis Din of Monsey shlit"a.

Afterward, beautiful verses composed in honor of the occasion were sung, and the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a presented a special plaque as a token of gratitude to R' Dovid, as well as to the other donors, namely: R' Avrohom Brach, R' Avrohom Yoshe Glanz, R' Raphael Perlmutter, R' Yitzchok Mordechai and his brother R' Yaakov Hersh Neustadt, R' Yaakov Yechezkel Markowitz, R' Aryeh Hoffman, R' Wolf Landau, R' Hershel Wertheimer, R' Aharon Weiss, R' Aharon Hersh Hollander, R' Yosef Moshe Ungar, R' Yaakov Yermiash, R' Yitzchok Dov Fish, R' Menachem Liebermann, R' Mendel Teller and his partner R' Dovid Yoel Cohen, and R' Anshel Herskowitz.

Then R' Dovid Neustadt stepped forward and recited the Shehecheyanu blessing with Hashem's name and kingship.

The Rebbe shlit"a drank a lechayim, wished the entire gathering well, and delivered holy words, describing how the Rebbe, the Divrei Yoel zy"a, founded Beis Rachel and how much he invested himself in every detail. He spoke in praise of our holy institutions in Monsey, and particularly of the donor of the building, R' Dovid Neustadt, and concluded with abundant blessings for all the donors. The event concluded at around 12:00.

At around 12:15, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a arrived at the new, magnificent butcher shop of our holy kehilla in Monsey. First the Rebbe affixed a mezuzah on the main entrance, and then the Rebbe toured and looked over the entire store in all its departments, accompanied by the HaGaon HaTzaddik, the Av Beis Din of Monsey shlit"a, and the leaders of the kehilla. A lechayim gathering then took place, at which the Rebbe drank a lechayim and spoke at length about all the hiddurim and chumros of the distinguished slaughterhouse in Kiryas Joel, as well as at the Gasos. He greatly praised the new Monsey meat store, noting that it carries only Kiryas Joel meat, and bestowed abundant blessings. At about 1:10, the Rebbe left the butcher shop on his way home to his holy residence.

Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Yisro — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

On Friday night at around 6:05 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha and Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Shlomo Zalman Horowitz.

After davening, the appeal for our holy mosdos in Linden, New Jersey took place. It concluded at around 7:45, the crowd went over to wish a "gut Shabbos," and the Rebbe shlit"a went into his private room.

At around 8:40 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Heichal HaShulchanos for the Shabbos seudah together with the talmidim of the Mesivta, and began, as is his custom, with Shalom Aleichem, with emotion and sweetness.

Eishes Chayil: the Rebbe's grandson, Rabbi Yisroel Dushinsky, son of the HaGaon, Rav of the Ohel Feiga beis medrash shlit"a. Hagbahas HaKos (raising the cup): R' Aryeh Rotte (Manchester).

The Rebbe shlit"a honored others with the zemiros. Kol Mekadesh: HaGaon R' Yosef Leib Kahn shlit"a. Menucha V'Simcha: HaGaon R' Yoel Yitzchak Stern shlit"a, dayan of the Dinov beis medrash in Kiryas Joel.

The Rebbe shlit"a delivered a Torah thought on the verse "Vayichad Yisro," and explained, in the manner of a derush, the sugya of "kol kulo" versus "kol miktzaso."

The recent chasanim came by to take fruit, and bundles were brought in in honor of the Shalom Zachor of the Rebbe's grandson, Rabbi Lipa Ashkenazi shlit"a, son-in-law of the HaGaon, Rav of the Avnei Tzedek beis medrash shlit"a, and they sang in honor of the simcha.

Az B'Yom HaShevi'i: the Rebbe's grandson, HaGaon R' Zalman Teitelbaum shlit"a, Rav of the Beis Menachem Zev beis medrash. They continued singing with Elyonim Sasu and U'Vau Kulam in honor of Shabbos, the day of Kabbalas HaTorah. It concluded at around 11:35.

The Rebbe shlit"a delivered a Torah thought on the verse "V'hodata lahem es haderech yelchu bah," and explained that now, in the days of Shovavim, when one is engaged in teshuva, the way for the teshuva to be accepted, even for that which is said to be beyond the help of teshuva, is through engaging in Torah, which restores the tzelem Elokim to the face, and in this way the tefillos are accepted. Now, as we are already in the last week, "malei hashavua hazos," with proper contemplation in Torah, in tefilla and in teshuva, and especially with regret over the past and acceptance for the future.

Yedid Nefesh: HaGaon R' Yisroel Chaim Gutman shlit"a. Kel Mistater: R' Lipa Epstein. The Rebbe shlit"a made a bracha on the cup and recited the Sheva Brachos.

Maariv of Motzei Shabbos: Rabbi Avrohom Leib Landau shlit"a. After Havdalah everyone went over to wish a "gutte voch," and they accompanied the Rebbe shlit"a with the nigun of Kah Zechus Avos and Ki Malachav Yetzaveh Lach, in honor of the holy journey this week to the ancestral city of Sighet. Thursday, Parshas Yisro — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in Heichal HaMesivta, the Beirach Moshe branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the following bar mitzvah bochurim.
The son of R' Eliezer Tzvi Horowitz shlit"a, son of the HaGaon, Av Beis Din of Manchester shlit"a.
The bochur Meir Moshe Moskovits.
The bochur Asher Anshel Yozhef.
During the leining the Rebbe went up for Hagbah, and after davening he learned the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 15, verse 3. Afterward a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room.

In the afternoon at around 5:50 the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home.

The time for entering to the Rebbe was from around 7:30 until 12:00 at night, in his holy home on Ohel Street.

During the time of entry, the HaGaon, Av Beis Din of Manchester shlit"a, who is in New York for several family simchas, came for a visit. A pleasant conversation developed about his grandfather, the HaGaon of Rachov zt"l, a talmid of the Etz Chaim zt"l. The Rebbe honored him with a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessings upon him.
Also visiting was the HaGaon Rabbi Shmuel Binyomin Krois shlit"a, president of Yeshivas Toras Chesed London. The Rebbe inquired after his welfare and warmly bestowed his holy blessings for a complete recovery.

Wednesday, Parshas Yisro — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

Early in the morning, before Shacharis, the bris of the newborn son of R' Shmuel Menachem Klagsbrun took place, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Yoel Moshe branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the following bar mitzvah bochurim:
The bochur Refael Weingarten.
The bochur Yitzchak Lichtenstein.

After davening, the Rebbe recited the daily Tehillim shiur, and spoke about preparing for Kabbalas HaTorah and the correction of the days of Shovavim, particularly through reciting Tehillim. He urged all the chassidim to take part in the "Maamad Eis Ratzon" taking place this Friday morning, with a large crowd in the glory of the King, in the great beis medrash.
Afterward, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Rebbe's private room.

During the morning hours, the Rebbe shlit"a paid a visit to the Yoel Moshe neighborhood in Kiryas Joel, accompanied by the founder and builder of the neighborhood, the Rabbinic philanthropist R' Akiva Hersh Klein, together with the neighborhood's construction manager, the Rabbinic philanthropist R' Meir Yaakov Indig. First the Rebbe visited the construction work at the central beis medrash "Beis Elazar" in the Yoel Moshe neighborhood. The Rebbe looked over the expansion of the holy borders of the entire neighborhood and heard the further plans.

Afterward, the Rebbe shlit"a crossed over to the adjacent magnificent talmud torah building, "Klein Building," which is nearing the final phases of completion. The Rebbe went up to all the floors and toured it together with the Rabbinic philanthropist and benefactor R' Akiva Hersh Klein, with great satisfaction.

In the afternoon, the Rebbe shlit"a went up to the Heichal HaYeshiva, Divrei Yoel branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the yeshiva's students in his private room. At around 6:00, the Rebbe davened Mincha in the yeshiva.

In the evening, the Rebbe shlit"a officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the mechutanim R' Yaakov Friedman and R' Avigdor Meir Samet (Montreal), in the Kinor David hall.

Entry hours to the Rebbe were from around 7:40 until 12:00 at night, in his holy home on Uhel Court.

During the entry hours, the Melitz Rebbe shlit"a visited, on the occasion of the wedding of his grandson that took place that night in Kiryas Joel. A pleasant conversation ensued; the Rebbe honored him with a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessings.

Also coming in was HaGaon Rabbi Efraim Zalman Sternbuch shlit"a, son of the Posek HaDor and Mara D'Asra of the holy city, Av Beis Din of Yerushalayim shlit"a. On behalf of his great father, he brought the Rebbe the new volumes of "Moadim U'Zmanim HaChadash" by the Av Beis Din shlit"a. The Rebbe inquired after the well-being of his great father, sent back a warm greeting, and bestowed his holy blessings.

Tuesday, Parshas Yisro — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning, before Shacharis, the bris of the newborn son of R' Meir Shlomo Pilaf took place, at which the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Sniff Eitz Chaim, Shiur Gimmel. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Yoel, son of R' Berish Rosenberg.

After davening, the Rebbe recited the daily Tehillim portion, up to chapter 15, verse 1. Afterwards, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochur in the Rebbe's private room.

During the morning hours, the Rebbe shlit"a paid a shiva call to HaRav HaChosid R' Yitzchak Mizrachi, on the passing of his daughter a"h.

In the afternoon, the Rebbe shlit"a went up to the Heichal HaYeshiva, Sniff Divrei Yoel, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the talmidim of the yeshiva in his private room, and at about 5:50 the Rebbe davened Mincha in the yeshiva.

In the evening, the Rebbe shlit"a traveled to Williamsburg for the weekly reception hours.
The reception hours in the inner sanctum took place from about 8:30 until 12:30 at his holy residence on Hooper St.

During the reception hours, the Pinsk-Karlin Rebbe shlit"a of Eretz Yisroel paid a visit to the Rebbe. A pleasant conversation developed, and the Rebbe honored him with a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessings upon him.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Maariv at about 11:45 in his holy residence, and afterwards continued receiving the public.

After the reception hours, the Rebbe shlit"a went to return the visit to the Pinsk-Karlin Rebbe shlit"a, at the guesthouse of the distinguished philanthropist R' Shalom Yitzchak Yakobovitch of Eretz Yisroel, in Williamsburg.
A pleasant conversation developed, and among other things, R' Shalom Yitzchak showed interesting manuscripts of tzaddikim and holy people, particularly of the holy Rebbes, the Eitz HaTamarim zy"a. The Pinsk-Karlin Rebbe shlit"a honored the Rebbe with a lechayim, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessings upon him.
