Sunday, Parshas Bamidbar, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Kedushas Yoel branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim.

After davening, the Rebbe delivered the daily Tehillim shiur on chapter 15, verse 1. Afterward, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room.

The times of entry to the Rebbe (yechidus) were from approximately 8:15 until 11:20 at night, at his holy home on Ohel Court.
The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a davened Mincha at 8:15.

During the yechidus hours, the siyum of writing the letters took place for the Sefer Torah being written by R' Pinchas Shapiro, l'iluy nishmas HaRav R' Akiva Tzvi Ganz z"l, who was a melamed of the Talmud Torah for many years. It will be brought in this coming Wednesday, Parshas Naso, to the new Talmud Torah building, "Binyan Klein." The Rebbe wrote in the letters and bestowed from his holy blessings.

The Rebbe shlit"a read the tenaim at the tenaim celebration in his holy home between the mechutanim, HaGaon Rabbi Mendel Wertzberger shlit"a, dayan of our kehilla in Montreal, and R' Yechezkel Isser Berger.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 11:20 in his holy home.

Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Emor — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

On Friday night at about 8:30 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha. Kabbalas Shabbos: HaRav HaChosid R' Binyamin Zev Schwartz (Williamsburg). The davening concluded at about 10:05; the tzibur wished a "gut Shabbos," and the Rebbe entered his private room.

A short time after davening, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the pure tish in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with the talmidim of the Mesivta, and began, as is his holy custom, with Shalom Aleichem with emotion and sweetness.
Eshes Chayil: the Rebbe's grandson, the bochur Meir Eliezer ben HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of the Beis Medrash Beirach Moshe shlit"a. Raising of the cup: HaGaon Rabbi R' Yechezkel Schwartz shlit"a, dayan in the Beis Din Tzedek Shaarei Horaah in Bnei Brak.

The Rebbe shlit"a delivered a Torah thought on the verse "'V'lechem v'kali v'carmel lo socheilu ad etzem hayom hazeh'" and explained, in the manner of a drasha, the topic of "aseh docheh lo saaseh."

Kah Ribon Olam: HaGaon R' Yosef Shmuel Berkowitz shlit"a, moreh tzedek. The newly married chasanim came over to take fruit. "Ki bayom hashevi'i": HaRav HaChosid R' Moshe Yosef Wertheimer (Williamsburg). They continued singing "Toraso Magen Lanu" in honor of Lag B'Omer. The tish ended at about 1:35.

On Shabbos morning the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash at about 9:40. Pesukei D'Zimra: HaRav HaChosid R' Asher Yaakov Eckstein. The Rebbe shlit"a recited "V'chrois" verse by verse, and approached the amud for Shacharis. For the chazaras hashatz he sent his grandson Rabbi Nachman Kahana shlit"a, son-in-law of the HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of the Beis Medrash Beirach Moshe shlit"a.

For Mincha and Shalosh Seudos the Rebbe entered at about 8:25. Mincha: R' Yudel Schwartz. Hotzaah and Hachnasah: R' Pinchas Yochanan Rotter. Kohen: HaRav HaChosid R' Shlomo Pinchas Schonbrun. The Rebbe shlit"a delivered a Torah thought on the verse "'Basukkos teishvu shivas yamim'" and explained that when one wishes to do teshuva for aveiros, he must go through fasts and self-affliction. But in our generation, through having emunah, Hashem is satisfied with teshuva. He also explained "Toraso Magen Lanu": Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai reveals that the sukkah is "b'tzila d'mehemnusa" and imparts emunah to the Jewish children, so that Jews will remain believers, children of believers, until our days, and one can come to complete teshuva before the Creator. He enlightens our eyes so that we won't need all these self-afflictions and suffering.

Yedid Nefesh: HaGaon R' Dovid Hirsch shlit"a, moreh tzedek. Kel Mistateir: HaRav HaChosid R' Yisroel Ari Fischer (Boro Park). The Rebbe made a bracha on the cup.

Maariv of Motzei Shabbos: HaRav HaChosid R' Avrohom Wider. After Havdalah, they wished a "gutte voch." The tish ended at about 10:45.
In his holy home, talmidim of the Yeshiva Ketana Belz in Lakewood came in together with the rebbeim of the yeshiva, who had chosen to spend Shabbos "b'tzeil hakodesh." The Rebbe inquired about their learning and gave a talk with words of preparation for Yom Tov Shavuos, and the bochurim came over to receive a holy bracha.

Later there was a visit from HaRav HaTzaddik R' Nechemya Alter shlit"a, son of the Gur Rebbe shlit"a. A pleasant conversation ensued; the Rebbe honored him with a lechayim and bestowed of his holy blessings.

At about 12:40 the Rebbe shlit"a went over to the Vachnacht celebration for the newborn son of Rabbi Chaim Meir Stein shlit"a, grandson of the Vizhnitz Yerushalayim Rebbe shlit"a, at the home of his father-in-law HaRav HaTzaddik R' Yisroel Shimon Meir Leifer shlit"a of Satmar, Kiryas Joel. A pleasant conversation developed, and the Rebbe drank a lechayim and bestowed of his holy blessings.
