At around 7:45 the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a arrived at the mighty fortress of the new Talmud Torah building, the "Klein Building," in the Kiryas Joel mosdos, for the central "Chanukas HaBayis" event, which took place in a regal manner in the magnificent "Klein Garden" hall, set aside for the great donors of the building, together with the building's benefactor, the Rabbani and philanthropist R' Akiva Hersh Klein.
R' Yechezkel Shraga Gelbstein, son-in-law of the Rabbani and philanthropist R' Akiva Hersh, continued with a address. Afterward the chairman, the Rebbe's grandson, Rabbi Moshe Meisels shlit"a, took the podium and spoke of the tremendous merit the donor earned by building this mighty fortress, and called upon the donor to come and share his feelings. The donor, R' Akiva Hersh, then spoke with words of excitement in honor of the occasion and recited the blessing of Shehecheyanu with Hashem's Name and Kingship in honor of the inauguration of the building. Afterward the Rebbe rose and danced for an extended time, embracing the esteemed donor. Then the director of the mosdos, HaRav R' Meir Hirsch, took the podium and spoke on behalf of the mosdos.

The Rebbe shlit"a delivered words of Torah and expressed Kiryas Joel's joy at inaugurating such a large building, in which close to 2,000 students learn, and praised the donor who merited to build it. He said that this inauguration is a beginning toward a second building, as the esteemed donor's hand is still outstretched to build another large building, even greater, for the chinuch of girls, and he pledged 10 million dollars for the new building, the Beis Rochel building.

In this context the Rebbe related a story about the Divrei Yoel zy"a: two litigants who had a dispute came to the Rebbe about it. Upon arriving, they decided to give money to tzedakah to the Rebbe, and a dispute broke out again between them over whose mitzvah and merit it would be. The Rebbe, in his great wisdom, called out: the Mishnah says "one mitzvah brings another mitzvah." I will see who adds to the sum, and then I will know that the mitzvah is his.

Regarding the matter at hand, the Rebbe continued: we are at a chanukas habayis; R' Akiva Hersh merited such a great mitzvah, so there must have been an earlier mitzvah that brought about this mitzvah. The Rebbe said that R' Akiva Hersh built hundreds of apartments in the Vyoel Moshe neighborhood, and even though he had already made the contracts with the buyers a few years earlier, and construction prices had risen considerably, he held to the original price and handed over the apartments without asking for even one penny more. This is "one mitzvah brings another mitzvah." In the merit of this mitzvah between man and his fellow, he merited to donate these two mighty buildings for the chinuch of boys and girls. The Rebbe also urged all other builders and developers: "From him they shall learn and so shall they do," for the benefit of the public!!!

The Rebbe concluded with a blessing of abundant success for all the donors, first R' Akiva Hersh, who has the foremost share, and the other major partners who purchased tremendous merits in the building.

The Rebbe shlit"a drank a lechayim and warmly wished the esteemed donor of the building well, and the larger donors of the building came forward, and the Rebbe warmly wished each one personally and distributed shirayim.

The Rebbe left the hall at around 9:30, on the way home to his holy residence, where the Rebbe davened Maariv.

At around 11:00 the Rebbe shlit"a went to the home of the Chadvan, HaGaon HaRav, Rav of the Yismach Moshe beis medrash shlit"a, for the Vachnacht celebration of his grandson, born to Rabbi Chaim Yaakov Rokeach shlit"a. A pleasant conversation ensued, and the Rebbe drank a lechayim and bestowed from his holy blessings upon the baal simcha and the entire family. On his way out, the Rebbe recited Krias Shema and wished the mother well.

The Rebbe shlit"a delivered holy words over a microphone. The Rebbe took as his theme the verse "Vayichan sham Yisroel neged hahar" and explained that from Matan Torah there is proof that the Jewish people have the status of children of Hashem, and therefore the angels have no claim of "Tnah hodcha al hashamayim." This power was already rooted in the holy Avos, and in their merit Hashem bestows upon Jewish children from His wide and full hand. He concluded with abundant blessings from the influences of the holy Yom Tov.

After the holy words the singing continued with joyous niggunim, and upon rising, the Rebbe wished everyone a good week and a healthy summer.

After Kiddush Levana joyous niggunim were sung and the multitudes of the kehilla danced in elevation of spirit. The Rebbe shlit"a delivered a holy blessing and repeated from the Chasam Sofer an explanation of the verse "V'atah im shamoa tishme'u b'koli": "V'atah" means even in these present times, when the trials of the era lead to everything being dismissed with the thought that "today's times are different," one must uphold all the good commitments that were taken upon oneself this Yom Tov in Torah and mitzvos, and conduct oneself gradually, keeping one's homes holy and proper, with proper, respectable dress. He wished abundant blessings. It ended at around 11:30.

In his holy residence, bochurim of the Montreal kehilla entered, and the Rebbe inquired about their studies and gave them blessings.

And the Yom Tov Rebbe departed in peace from the holy place

Chassidim and men of deeds continued for an extended time with joyous dancing in front of the main beis medrash, unable to part from the elevated Yom Tov, and we hope to Hashem that everyone will take along the good influences, materially and spiritually.

Fortunate is the eye that saw all this; fortunate is the people for whom this is so; fortunate is the people whose G-d is Hashem.

The Night of the First Day of Shavuos 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

Before Yom Tov, the Rebbe made an eruv tavshilin and lit a yahrzeit candle.

The davening ended at around 10:00. The congregation went over to wish a gut Yom Tov, and the guests took leave for a very long time. The Rebbe went home to his holy residence, where the Rebbe engaged in Tikkun Leil Shavuos as is customary, until the tish.

The "V'haer Eineinu" was sung for an extended time with great arousal.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "U'Moshe alah el HaElokim" and explained that when the Torah was given, the Jewish people merited to receive a feeling of the sweetness of the Torah. This is a power that Avrohom Avinu brought about on Har HaMoriah, and until today, when Jews gather on Yom Tov of Shavuos, they come with this power. For this we pray "V'haarev na Hashem Elokeinu," that when one feels the true taste of the holy Torah, there is no room for any laxity.

Birkas Hamazon: HaGaon HaTzaddik, the Av Beis Din of Williamsburg shlit"a. The tish ended at 3:40. Before going to bed, the Rebbe went to the mikvah, and afterwards went home to his holy residence.

At the afternoon meal in his holy residence, the Rebbe shlit"a honored his grandson Rabbi Avrohom Yeshua Heshil Rokeach shlit"a, son-in-law of HaGaon HaTzaddik, the Av Beis Din of Sighet shlit"a, with the piyut of Ahavah Rabbah.

Yom Tov Shavuos 5783 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

A splendor that cannot be described in words!!

In choirs, "Bless God," with praise and thanksgiving to the holy Creator who gave us the Torah of truth, with a fresh acceptance of the Torah, "And now, if you will surely listen to My voice," "and Israel encamped there opposite the mountain" as one man with one heart, over ten thousand Jews, may they be multiplied, under one roof, a gathering of the exiles of our chassidim from everywhere, who merited that "Moshe descended from the mountain to the people" through the holy tefillos and tishen and hearing words of holiness flaming with fire. "Gather the people to Me, that they may learn" on the second day of Yom Tov, with public Torah study, the seder was filled with holiness, soaking up Torah and kedusha. We hope to Hashem that it will remain forever for us and our descendants, with a prayer to the Creator that all good will have been accomplished, "and days upon the days of the king You shall add." May the Rebbe shlit"a continue to shower us with many more long, healthy years, that we may merit to draw from the pure wellspring and take shelter in the shade of the palm, in good health and with a great light, until we merit the coming of the Redeemer speedily.

If all the seas were ink and all the waters of the congregation, the inhabitants of the earth, were scribes and writers of the record
it is still very difficult and almost impossible to put into words the emotions of the festive Yom Tov in the shadow of holiness. Here we will only relay things as they were, the order of the exalted and holy days that have just passed, and far more than what we have read to you is written here.

A splendor that cannot be described in words!!

If all the seas were ink and all the waters of the congregation, the inhabitants of the earth, were scribes and writers of the record
it is still very difficult and almost impossible for a few pictures to reflect the essence and the elevation of such an exalted Yom Tov of Shavuos, which has just passed, in the city of our strength, Kiryas Joel, in the shadow of holiness of the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a.
Only those who were part of the historic, huge crowd of over ten thousand talmidim and chassidim, may they be multiplied, at the festive Yom Tov will be able to truly understand and grasp it.

It goes without saying that the flavor and the spirit of awakening of this exalted Yom Tov will be remembered for a long time, and will remain engraved in the hearts of those who gathered in the shadow of holiness.

Nevertheless, in order to quench the thirst of our fellow chassidim, may they live, everywhere, who did not merit to gather in the shade of faith, we will send out a few pictures that came into the editorial office, with a tangible glimpse to try to satisfy the eyes of our brothers around the whole world, though what happened here was far greater than what is written before you.
