Sunday, Parshas Shlach — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Kedushas Yoel branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim.

After davening, the Rebbe learned the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 17, verse 2. Afterwards a lechayim took place with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room.

During the morning hours, HaGaon HaTzaddik, the mashpia R' Tzvi Meir Zilberberg shlit"a, head of the Nachalas Yaakov group in Eretz Yisroel, came for a visit in the Rebbe's holy home. A fine conversation in Torah and Chassidus took place; the Rebbe honored him with a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessings upon him.

Around 1:00 PM the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a set out on the way to Boro Park to grace the Chumash seudah of the talmidim of our holy mosdos in Boro Park.
Around 2:45 the Rebbe arrived at the Beis Medrash HaGadol, where hundreds of parents and grandfathers of the children were also present, among them many Rebbes, rabbonim and the rabbonim of our kehilla: the Wiznitz Monsey Rebbe shlit"a, the HaGaon HaTzaddik, rav of our kehilla in Boro Park shlit"a, the HaGaon HaTzaddik, rav of our kehilla in Boro Park 15 shlit"a, the Papa Boro Park Rebbe shlit"a, HaGaon HaTzaddik, the Av Beis Din of Beis Aharon shlit"a, HaGaon HaTzaddik R' Chaim Yaakov Tauber shlit"a, dayan of Bobov, and many other rabbonim of the city.
The Rebbe greeted the rabbonim, and the young children of the talmud torah welcomed the Rebbe with fine rhymes in honor of the occasion. The Rebbe distributed a siddur to all the children, the celebrants of the occasion. HaGaon HaTzaddik, the Av Beis Din of Sighet shlit"a, a grandfather of one of the children, spoke, as did the director of the mosdos, HaRav R' Aharon Weltz.
The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a delivered brief holy words in honor of the children beginning to learn Chumash, speaking of the tremendous joy of this time, since the beginning is half of everything, and expressed his feelings, saying that he too has a great-grandchild here, and concluded with his holy blessings to the entire gathering.
The Rebbe drank a lechayim and wished the children, parents and grandfathers well. It concluded at around 3:30.

After the Chumash seudah, a meeting took place with the committee of laymen for technology matters of our holy mosdos, in the secretary's room in the Beis Medrash HaGadol. The Rebbe spoke about the latest developments and encouraged them to continue with the holy work, and gave a sefer as a token of appreciation for the committee's many beneficial efforts, and bestowed his holy blessing.

From there the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a went to visit the ill Rebbe of Kasov shlit"a, for a speedy recovery. A fine conversation took place; the Kasov Rebbe shlit"a honored the Rebbe with a lechayim and the Rebbe warmly bestowed his holy blessings for a complete recovery, and the Kasov Rebbe accompanied the Rebbe to the car.
Then at 4:15 the Rebbe set out on the way back home to Kiryas Joel.

In the evening at 7:10 the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a went to the Beis Medrash Noam Elimelech on Hooper for the hachnasas sefer Torah celebration given by R' Shimon Weiss. The Rebbe took the Torah scroll, danced with holy rejoicing and recited "Le'Dovid Mizmor" as is customary, and then bestowed his holy blessings upon the donor.

At night the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the mechutanim R' Yoel Greenfeld (Boro Park) and R' Yoel Hirsch, at Ulam Beis Rachel Paradise.

Entry times for the holy inner room were from around 8:00 until 12:15 at night in his holy home on Ohel Court.
The Rebbe davened Mincha at 8:00.

During the entry times, HaRav HaGaon Rabbi Mordechai Malka shlit"a, rav and av beis din of the Sephardic community in the city of Elad, author of the halacha sefarim 'Derech HaMelech,' 'Darchei HaMelech' and others, came for a visit, accompanied by R' Tzvi Akiva Breitstein, director of our holy mosdos in the city of Beit Shemesh. A fine conversation took place about various customs regarding sofrus (STaM) in the Sephardic community and about the opinion of Rabbeinu Tam, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessings upon him.

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a read the tenaim at the tenaim celebration in his holy home of the mechutanim R' Dovid Bickel and R' Simcha Yisroel Weiser.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 12:15.

Shabbos Parshas Behaaloscha, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

On Friday night at around 8:45 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha and Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Yoel Wertzberger shlit"a. They finished at around 10:20, the congregation went over to wish a good Shabbos, and the Rebbe went into his private room.

A short time after davening, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the holy table in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with the talmidim of the Mesivta, and began, as is his custom, with Shalom Aleichem with feeling and sweetness.
Eishes Chayil: the Rebbe's grandson, the young man Meir Eliezer Teitelbaum, son of HaGaon Rabbi Baruch Moshe shlit"a, Rav of the beis medrash. Lifting of the cup: R' Tzvi Akiva Breitstein, director of our holy institutions in Beit Shemesh, tu"v.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "When you light the lamps," and explained that the lighting of the Menorah brought about Torah and fear of Heaven through the insights gained by looking into the lights of the holy Menorah. This shows the power of a holy sight, the image of a tzaddik, or looking into holy books, and on the other hand the great damage of a forbidden sight. The Creator created the eyes to be used for good and for holiness, and when one guards his eyes there is great abundance.

Before bentching, the Rebbe shlit"a added to the Torah and related a wondrous account about the Divrei Yoel zy"a: while visiting the girls' camp he walked around so that the girls would see his holy countenance.

Maariv for Motzei Shabbos: HaRav R' Avrohom Schwartz shlit"a. After Havdalah, they went over to wish a good week. They finished at around 11:20.

On Motzei Shabbos at around 12:30 the Rebbe shlit"a went to the home of the distinguished R' Yoel Epstein for the Sheva Berachos of his son the chasan. A pleasant conversation ensued, including about the policy R' Yoel introduced in his large 'Peabody Cabinet' company that no smartphones may be brought in during work, and he brought out the great problems that these devices cause even for business. The Rebbe drank a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessings.

Friday, Erev Shabbos Parshas Beha'aloscha 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal Yeshiva Ketana, Divrei Chaim branch, under the direction of HaGaon Rabbi Shlomo Elimelech Stein shlit"a, in the Goldstein building.
Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim.

After davening a lechayim gathering took place in the heichal of the beis medrash. Several nigunim were sung, and the Rebbe drank lechayim and delivered brief words of Torah, saying that one can acquire Torah only if one has yiras shamayim, and concluded with his holy blessing.

Afterwards the Rebbe shlit"a went down to the students of grades 3, 4 and 5, branch of Rabbi Yoel Halpert shlit"a, where a lechayim gathering took place. The children sang a nigun, and the Rebbe heard the children recite and gave his holy blessing.

Thursday, Parshas Beha'aloscha 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the morning, before Shacharis, the brissim took place.

After the lechayim, a signing of documents took place, where HaRav HaChassid R' Yoel Yitzchak Wieder, father of the bar mitzvah bochur, purchased a classroom in the new Beis Rochel building of our holy mosdos in Monsey. The Rebbe signed the documents together with the donor and bestowed his holy blessings upon him.

The Gaon Hadir, Av Beis Din of Kiryas Yoel shlit"a, also participated. A pleasant conversation developed about the activities of the dayan for the benefit of the "Ki Im LiShmoa" project to spread the study of the holy sefer Vayoel Moshe in Eretz Yisroel. The dayan also showed the Rebbe an original page of the holy sefer "Vayoel Moshe" with notes added by the Divrei Yoel zy"a. The Rebbe drank lechayim and warmly wished the dayan shlit"a and his whole family well.

A pleasant conversation developed and the Rebbe warmly wished the mechutanim and the chosson and kallah well.

Wednesday, Parshas Beha'aloscha — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Yoel Moshe branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Lipa Neiman.
After davening, the Rebbe led the daily Tehillim shiur on chapter 17, verse 1, after which a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochur in the Rebbe's private room.

In the morning, the rabbanim of the Kollel 'Divrei Aish' of Boro Park entered the Rebbe's room, where the Rebbe examined them on the halachos of mikvaos for an extended time, and a fine discussion developed on the topic of mikvaos and the hiddurim of today.
On this occasion, the Rebbe invited the rabbanim of the Kollel to join him personally at the mikvah tahara in Kiryas Joel, where the Rebbe walked around for over an hour, pointed out the many chumros and hiddurim, and clarified all the questions of the rabbanim of the Kollel. Afterwards, the Rebbe warmly bestowed his holy blessings upon the rabbanim of the Kollel, that they should continue to succeed in the other areas of Torah as well, and extended especially warm wishes to the patron of the Kollel, the philanthropist R' Berel Weiss, who is donating an enormous sum for the new building of the mikvah tahara. Also, R' Elazar Weiss, father of the patron of the Kollel, presented the Rebbe shlit"a, on behalf of the Belz Rebbe shlit"a, with the new sefer 'Parshas Mordechai' by his father, the holy Rebbe of Bulgaria zt"l.

In the afternoon hours, the Rebbe paid a shiva call to R' Meir Leib Oestreicher and the esteemed Wertheimer family, who are sitting shiva for his wife/their sister a"h.

Afterwards, the Rebbe shlit"a went up to the Heichal HaYeshiva, Kedushas Yoel branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the talmidim of the yeshiva in his private room.

In the evening, the Rebbe shlit"a officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the following mechutanim.

A fine discussion developed, and the Rebbe drank a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessings.

During the entry times, the completion of the writing of the letters took place for the Sefer Torah being written by R' Aharon Friedrich; the Rebbe wrote in the letters, drank a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessings.
Likewise, the completion of the writing of the letters took place for the Sefer Torah being written by R' Shimon Weiss, which will be brought into the Beis Medrash Noam Elimelech on Chevron Road this coming Sunday, Parshas Shelach; the Rebbe wrote in the letters, drank a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessings.
Likewise, the beginning of the writing of a Sefer Torah took place, which is being written by R' Yisroel Spielman and his sons, in memory of their son/brother, the bochur Alter Raziel Yuda a"h; the Rebbe wrote in the letters, drank a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessings.

The Rebbe davened Mincha at 8:50, and Maariv at around 11:45 in his holy home.

Tuesday, Parshas Beha'aloscha — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning, before Shacharis, the brisos took place.
The son born to R' Moshe Mendel Oestreicher, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.
The son born to R' Elimelech Brim Landau, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Divrei Yoel branch. After davening, the Rebbe delivered the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 16, verse 8.

In the morning the Rebbe shlit"a went on his weekly visit to the glatt kosher slaughterhouse.

During the morning hours, the Talmud Torah Tiferes Elimelech of Flatbush entered the Rebbe's private room; the Rebbe listened to their learning and bestowed his holy blessing.

In the afternoon the Rebbe shlit"a went up to the Heichal HaYeshiva, Kedushas Yoel branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from the talmidim of the yeshiva in his private room, and at 6:15 the Rebbe davened Mincha in the yeshiva.

In the evening the Rebbe shlit"a traveled to Williamsburg for the weekly reception hours.
Upon arriving in Williamsburg, the Rebbe officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the mechutanim, HaRav HaChasid R' Naftali Hirtzka Stein and HaRav HaChasid R' Aryeh Leibush Teitelbaum, in the halls of Kesser Rizel.

Afterwards the Rebbe paid a condolence call to the family of R' David Mordechai Schwartz a"h.

The reception hours in the Rebbe's holy home on Hewes St. lasted from about 8:30 until 12:30 at night.

During the reception hours, the heads of the community and mosdos of Jersey City entered to receive the Rebbe's blessing for the event of the pouring of the foundations, taking place this coming Sunday, for the mikvah being built in the new Beis Medrash HaGadol of Jersey City. A pleasant conversation developed, and the Rebbe inquired about the community's growth and bestowed his blessing.

This morning before Shacharis, a bris of a newborn son took place for R' Shmuel Naftali Hirtzka Gold, where the Rebbe served as sandek.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Maharsha beis medrash together with the talmidim of Yeshiva Gedolah Esek HaTorah Monsey.
Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur, son of the HaGaon R' Aharon Yekusiel Berkowitz shlit"a, son of the great Gaon and Dayan shlit"a.
The Rebbe lit 5 candles and said Kaddish in honor of the yahrzeit of his grandfather, the holy Rebbe R' Shalom Eliezer of Ratzfert zy"a, and during the Torah reading the Rebbe was called up as the third aliyah.

After davening, the Rebbe recited the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 16, verse 8.
A few minutes later the Rebbe shlit"a entered the lechayim gathering in honor of the yahrzeit and in honor of the simcha of the first laying of tefillin of his grandson, the great Gaon and Dayan shlit"a. The Rebbe drank lechayim and wished the bar mitzvah bochur, the Dayan shlit"a, and all the bochurim well, and related holy stories about the baal hilula for an extended time.

The Rebbe shlit"a was honored with sandekaos and the mohel's role; the standing sandek was the Gaon Av Beis Din of Kerestir shlit"a.
Blessings: the Gaon Av Beis Din of Beis Aharon shlit"a. "V'yikarei shemo b'Yisroel" — 'Elazar', after his grandfather the Gaon of Kiviashd zt"l.

After the bris, the congregation came over to wish the Rebbe mazel tov, and the Rebbe went into his private room, where a lechayim was held for the bar mitzvah bochurim.

After a few minutes, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the seudas bris milah in the main hall of the beis medrash. During the seudah, the father of the baby, Rabbi Avrohom Yehoshua Heschel Rokeach shlit"a, the grandfathers, the Gaon Av Beis Din of Kerestir shlit"a and the Gaon Av Beis Din of Sighet shlit"a, and the great-grandfather, the Gaon Av Beis Din of Beis Aharon shlit"a, spoke.
The Rebbe honored his grandson Rabbi Dovid Teitelbaum shlit"a with "Yom Libeshah." The Rebbe shlit"a delivered words of Torah on the topic of bris milah and concluded with his holy blessings.
Birkas Hamazon: the Rebbe honored his son, the Gaon Av Beis Din of Sighet shlit"a, and the family members were honored with the Harachaman's. It ended at around 1:15.

Afterwards, the Rebbe shlit"a went over to the home of the Gaon Av Beis Din of Sighet shlit"a in the Vyoel Moshe neighborhood, where the Rebbe extended good wishes to the new mothers. On the way out, the Rebbe inquired about and looked over the expansion of the holy borders in the neighborhood.

In the afternoon, the Rebbe shlit"a went up to the Heichal HaYeshiva, Beirach Moshe branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from the talmidim of the yeshiva in his private room.

In the evening, the Rebbe shlit"a officiated at kiddushin at the chuppah of the following mechutanim.

Entry times for yechidus were from around 8:10 until 10:00 at night at his holy residence on Ohel Street.
The Rebbe davened Mincha at 8:10.

After the entry times, the Rebbe shlit"a arrived at Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek for the tenaim simcha in our holy courts. The kallah is the daughter of the Gaon Rav of Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek shlit"a, and the chasan is the outstanding young man Rabbi Elchanan Chaim shlit"a, son of HaRav R' Tzvi Hirsch Meisels shlit"a, rav of our beis medrash Beis Nachum Dov in Williamsburg, son of the Gaon Av Beis Din of Montreal shlit"a and son-in-law of the Gaon Rabbi Leibush Teitelbaum zt"l, dayan of Kiryas Joel Moshe.
The mechutanim shlit"a spoke, as well as the grandfather, the Gaon Av Beis Din of Montreal shlit"a.
The kabbalas kinyan was made, and the Rebbe honored his brother-in-law, the Gaon Av Beis Din of Montreal shlit"a, with reading the tenaim. The witnesses to the tenaim were: R' Shlomo Dovid Greenfeld and R' Yisroel Boruch Herskowitz. The guarantor on behalf of the chasan: the Gaon R' Moshe Teitelbaum shlit"a, dayan of Beis Medrash Beis Shmuel Binyomin. The guarantor on behalf of the kallah: Rabbi Mordechai Horowitz shlit"a.

The Rebbe shlit"a delivered words of Torah, saying that by establishing a Jewish home in which the Aibershter is joined, one transforms "vei" into "tov." He spoke about the significance of the shidduch, as the chasan and kallah are both grandchildren of his father, the holy Rebbe zy"a, and concluded with abundant blessings for the chasan, the mechutanim, the grandfathers, and the entire congregation.

After the words of Torah, the Rebbe drank a lechayim and extended good wishes to the entire congregation. They continued with joyous songs and the Rebbe stood up and danced. On the way out, the Rebbe extended good wishes to the kallah and to the sister, the Rebbetzin of Montreal tlita. It ended at around 11:00.

Upon arriving home at his holy residence, the Rebbe davened Maariv. The Rebbe lit 5 candles and went up to the amud on the occasion of the hilula kadisha of his ancestor, the holy Rebbe R' Shalom Eliezer of Ratzfert zy"a.

Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Naso — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

On Erev Shabbos afternoon, the Rebbe shlit"a put on the shtreimel for the chasanim:
The chosson Avrohom, son of HaGaon R' Yaakov Elazar Mendlowitz z"l.
The chosson Wolf, son of Berel Stein.

On Friday night at around 8:55, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha and Kabbalas Shabbos, led by R' Asher Mendel Kahana. The davening concluded at around 10:30.

After davening, the Appel for the yeshiva gedolah took place in Beis Shaan, the holy place. The tzibur went over to wish a gut Shabbos, and the Rebbe went into his private room.

A short time after davening, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the holy tish in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with the talmidim of the Mesivta, and began, in his customary holy manner, Shalom Aleichem with emotion and sweetness.
Eishes Chayil: the Rebbe's grandson, Rabbi Meir Eliezer ט"ב, son of HaGaon Rav of the beis medrash Beirach Moshe shlit"a.

The Rebbe shlit"a honored the following with the zemiros: Kol Mekadesh: R' Yaakov Fuchs; Menucha V'Simcha: HaGaon R' Avrohom Kreuzer shlit"a (Beit Shemesh).

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the Midrash "From where did Yisroel merit Birkas Kohanim? From Har HaMoriah," and explained, in the manner of a derush, the sugya of whether nedarim apply to a non-Jew.

Stories and anecdotes: This week the Rebbe shlit"a related about his ancestor, the holy Gaon R' Shalom Eliezer of Ratzfert zy"a, whose yahrzeit falls on Monday, 16 Sivan.

Kah Ribon Olam: HaGaon R' Avrohom Wolf Friedman shlit"a. The new chasanim went over to take fruit, and a Shalom Zachor took place at the home of the bochur Avrohom Yosha Gutman, where the "seventh day" was: R' Yitzchak Teitelbaum. The tish concluded at around 1:40.

On the night of Shabbos, the Vachnacht simcha took place at the home of the Rebbe's grandson, HaGaon R' Moshe Meisels shlit"a, son-in-law of HaGaon Rav of the beis medrash Avnei Tzedek shlit"a. After the tish, the baal simcha came to the Rebbe's holy home, and the Rebbe drank a lechayim on beer and bestowed his holy blessings.

On Shabbos morning, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash at around 9:30. Pesukei D'Zimra: R' Berel Stein. The Rebbe shlit"a approached the amud for Shacharis.

The Rebbe recited the blessings "V'yikarei shemo b'Yisroel Tzvi," after the baby's grandfather, the Vetzener Rav zt"l.

After a few minutes, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Kiddusha Rabbah in honor of the simcha. The Rebbe made Kiddush, and the baal simcha spoke words of Torah.
Songs of simcha were sung, and the Rebbe drank a lechayim and wished the baal simcha, the grandfathers, and the entire tzibur well. He said Torah on the parsha of Birkas Kohanim, that in order to merit Birkas Kohanim, so that the Shechinah should speak from the throats of the Kohanim, it is only through the mitzvah of milah. It concluded at around 1:15.
The seudas bris milah took place at his holy home. The Rebbe honored Rabbi Yosef Meisels shlit"a with Yom Libeshah.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the pesukim of Birkas Kohanim and explained that through the mitzvah of milah one can serve Hashem even in material matters and not become coarsened.

The Rebbe shlit"a spoke on the pesukim of Birkas Kohanim and explained that through the power of the holy Avos and Matan Torah, Yidden merited a power of mesirus nefesh against the yetzer hara. To this very day, even with the lowliness of the present generation, one merits protection for sons and daughters.
