Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Nitzavim — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

On Friday night at around 7:50, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha. Kabbalas Shabbos: HaRav HaTzaddik R' Berel Glantz shlit"a of Bardiov, Kiryas Joel.
Davening ended at around 9:30, the congregation passed by to wish a gut Shabbos, and the Rebbe went into his private room.

At around 10:00 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Friday night seudah in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with hundreds of talmidim of Shiur Gimmel from the yeshivos ketanos in Kiryas Joel, and began, as is his holy custom, Shalom Aleichem with emotion and sweetness.
Eshes Chayil: the Rebbe's grandson, the chasan Meir Eliezer, may he be well, son of HaGaon HaTzaddik, the Rav of the beis medrash, Birkas Moshe shlit"a. Lifting of the cup: R' Naftali Zvi Brody shlit"a (Bnei Brak).

Before the fish, the Rebbe shlit"a delivered divrei Torah on the verse "You are standing today" — "If you want to endure in the world, engage in Torah" — that one should make the proper preparation for the holy days through steadfast learning of Torah.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "You are standing today" and explained that Moshe Rabbeinu strengthened the Jewish children, that Hakadosh Baruch Hu waits for Jews to open an opening the size of the eye of a needle, but an opening there must be, and then Hakadosh Baruch Hu will open an opening as wide as the entrance of a hall, accept the teshuvah with favor and shower abundant good upon Beis Yisroel.

Yedid Nefesh: HaGaon HaTzaddik R' Meir Zwibel shlit"a. Kel Mistateir: R' Yosef Zev Moskowitz (Williamsburg). The Rebbe blessed the cup and recited Sheva Berachos.

Thursday, Parshas Nitzavim — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning before Shacharis, a bris for a newborn son took place for R' Yuda Yoel Weinstock, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in Heichal HaMesivta, Beirach Moshe branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim.

During the Torah reading, the Rebbe went up for Hagbah, and after davening the shofar was blown. The Rebbe then delivered words of divrei kibbush and preparation for the Days of Mercy and Favor, saying that the only way to emerge vindicated in judgment is through the study of Torah. Afterward, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Rebbe's private room.

At around 1:50, the Rebbe shlit"a arrived at Heichal HaMesivta, Yoel Moshe branch, where the "Siyum HaZman" gathering took place. HaGaon Rabbi Meir Zwibel shlit"a spoke, and afterward the Rebbe delivered the final shiur in the sugya of "Matanah Al Menas Lehachzir," as preparation for the Shabbos Shuvah derasha. It concluded at around 2:30.

In the afternoon at around 6:15, the Rebbe shlit"a arrived at the tenaim hall in his holy residence on Ohel Court, where the siyum on Maseches Kesubos took place for the talmidim of the Mesivta, Divrei Yoel branch, who had been tested on the entire masechta. The menahel, HaGaon Rabbi Dovid Shlomo Eckstein shlit"a, spoke. The Rebbe drank lechayim, offered blessings to the rebbeim of the yeshiva and the talmidim, delivered brief words of divrei kibbush and guidance for bein hazmanim, and concluded with abundant blessings. It ended at around 6:30.

Entry times for the holy inner chamber were from around 6:30 in the afternoon until 1:45 at night, in his holy residence on Ohel Court.

The Rebbe davened Mincha at around 8:10 and Maariv at around 12:30, and then continued receiving the public.

Wednesday, Parshas Nitzavim — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Beis Medrash Eitz Chaim Sighet together with the talmidim of the Yeshiva Ketana, Chochmas HaTorah branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim.

After davening, the Rebbe blew the shofar. Before Rabbeinu Tam tefillin, HaRav R' Shlomo Shabsai Kestenbaum shlit"a entered Kodesh Penimah on the occasion of the bar mitzvah simcha of his son. The Rebbe engaged him in a learned discussion on the sugya of matanah al menas l'hachzir, and on the minhagei Yisroel during the Days of Mercy and Selichos, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessing upon him. Afterwards, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his holy home.

In the afternoon, the Rebbe shlit"a telephoned from afar to visit the ill HaGaon HaTzaddik, the Dayan and Av Beis Din of our kehilla in Boro Park shlit"a, who had undergone a serious heart procedure, and bestowed his holy blessing for a complete recovery and strength.
At around 4:30, the Rebbe shlit"a arrived at our great beis medrash in Boro Park, where there were times for entering Kodesh Penimah in preparation for the Days of Mercy and Favor, until 1:30 after midnight. It was held simultaneously with the annual event for the benefit of the Rebbe's fund, Avnei Chesed, where the distinguished donors and members of the community, residents of Boro Park, had the privilege of entering Kodesh Penimah to hand over their donations.

At around 7:15 the Rebbe davened Mincha, and at around 12:40 davened Maariv in the heichal of the great beis medrash, and then continued receiving the public.

A line wound along a specially arranged order organized by the askanim of the kehilla, as hundreds of community members, residents of Boro Park, entered Kodesh Penimah to be remembered for salvation and mercy. Among those who came were the rabbanim and dayanim of our kehilla and dozens of rabbanim of the city, roshei yeshivos and prominent members of the community, among them: the HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din of Boro Park shlit"a, and the Sardahely Rebbe shlit"a. Pleasant conversations took place and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessings.

After the times for entering ended at 1:40, the Rebbe shlit"a traveled home to his holy home in Kiryas Joel.

Tuesday, Parshas Nitzavim-Vayeilech — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Beis Medrash Etz Chaim Sighet. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Shmuel Zev Tabak.
After davening, the Rebbe blew shofar and recited fifteen chapters of Tehillim as is customary. Afterwards, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochur in the Rebbe's home.

At 1:20 in the afternoon, the Rebbe shlit"a entered our great beis medrash, 'B'Kumas Meir Zelig', where the Rebbe delivered the seventh shiur on the sugya of 'Matana Al Menas L'hachzir' in preparation for the Shabbos Shuvah derasha, before the hundreds of avreichim of the kollel, who merited to experience this hour of delight. After the shiur, the Rebbe, as is his way, engaged in lengthy pilpul with the rabbanim of the kollel in the depth of the sugya. A live hookup was also transmitted to the Heichal HaMesivta in Kiryas Joel, where the talmidim of the yeshiva took part in the daily sugya shiur. They concluded at around 2:10.

Yechidus hours were from around 4:30 in the afternoon until 11:30 at night, in the Rebbe's home on Hooper St.

During the yechidus hours, HaGaon Av Beis Din of Beis Aharon shlit"a entered the Rebbe's chamber to give and receive blessings in anticipation of the Days of Mercy and Favor.

The Rebbe davened Mincha at around 7:15, and Maariv at around 9:10, and then continued receiving the public.

Monday, Parshas Nitzavim-Vayeilech — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal of the Yeshiva Gedolah, Shiur Dalet. During the Torah reading, the Rebbe was called up for Shlishi, and after davening the shofar was blown.

After davening, the Rebbe delivered a shiur combined with words of chizuk and guidance for the Days of Mercy and Favor, may they come upon us. Afterwards, the talmidim of the yeshiva entered the Rebbe's private room, where the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessing in anticipation of the Days of Mercy and Favor, may they come upon us.

During the morning hours, the talmidim of the eighth grade of the branch of Rabbi Yoel Stern shlit"a of Williamsburg entered the Rebbe's chamber, after having distinguished themselves throughout the year with kabbalos in the area of tefillah. The Rebbe spoke words of blessing and distributed holy coins to the talmidim.

At 1:45 in the afternoon, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Heichal HaMesivta of the Yoel Moshe branch, where the Rebbe delivered the sixth shiur on the sugya of 'Matana Al Menas L'hachzir' in preparation for the Shabbos Shuvah derasha. They concluded at around 2:30.

In the afternoon, the Rebbe shlit"a traveled to Williamsburg for yechidus hours for the members of the kehilla, due to the large crowds in anticipation of the Days of Mercy and Favor.
Yechidus hours were from around 4:30 in the afternoon until 9:30 at night, in the Rebbe's home on Hooper St.

At around 6:30 the Rebbe davened Mincha in his home, and then continued receiving the public.

After the yechidus hours, the Rebbe shlit"a traveled to Boro Park for the vort of his grandson, the chosson Rabbi Meir Eliezer Teitelbaum shlit"a, son of the Rebbe's brother-in-law HaGaon Rabbi Beirach Moshe shlit"a, to the kallah, daughter of Rabbi Yechiel Greenfeld shlit"a, son of HaGaon Rabbi Moshe shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Semihali Boro Park, and son-in-law of HaGaon Rabbi Zusha Baer shlit"a, Rebbe of Ratzfert. It took place in the Spinka hall in Boro Park.
The Rebbe arrived at around 10:00 and greeted the distinguished grandfathers and rabbanim. The mechutan, HaGaon Rabbi Beirach Moshe shlit"a, and the grandfather, HaGaon Rabbi of Walova shlit"a, spoke. The Rebbe arranged the tenaim, and honored the grandfather, HaGaon Av Beis Din of Semihali shlit"a, with reading the tenaim.

The Rebbe drank a lechayim and blessed the chosson, the mechutanim, and the entire assembly, and spoke words of holy Torah regarding the simcha of chosson and kallah, enumerating the great yichus of the chosson and kallah, and concluded with abundant blessings.
Songs of simcha were sung, and the entire assembly came over to wish the Rebbe shlit"a mazel tov. Afterwards the Rebbe joined in a dance with the distinguished grandfathers shlit"a. They concluded at around 11:00, and on the way out the Rebbe blessed the kallah as is customary.

Afterwards, the Rebbe paid a shiva call to the family of the niftar, HaRav HaChassid R' Pinchas Tzvi Dov Freund a"h.

From there, the Rebbe shlit"a returned to his home in Williamsburg, where the Rebbe davened Maariv.

Sunday, Parshas Nitzavim-Vayeilech, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Kedushas Yoel branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim.

After davening the Rebbe blew shofar, and then recited the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 18, verse 22. Afterwards a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room.
Also, a group of bochurim from the yeshiva entered for yechidus together with the menahel shlit"a, to receive the Rebbe's holy blessing on the occasion of their trip to the holy places in Europe. The Rebbe asked about the details of the trip, distributed shlichus mitzvah money to the bochurim, and bestowed from his holy blessing.

At 1:45 in the afternoon the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Heichal HaMesivta, Vayoel Moshe branch, where the Rebbe delivered the fifth sugya shiur on the topic of 'matana al menas l'hachzir' in preparation for the Shabbos Shuvah derasha. It concluded at around 2:30.

The time of yechidus in the inner sanctum was from around 6:10 in the afternoon until 12:30 at night, in his holy home on Ahel Court.

After davening, an appeal was held for the Chassidic seminary in Yerushalyim, the holy city. It ended at around 9:35, the crowd went over to wish a good Shabbos, and the Rebbe went into his private room.

At around 10:15 the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered the Shabbos table in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with the talmidim of the mesivta, and began, as is his custom, with Shalom Aleichem with feeling and sweetness.

After davening, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a went over to the Ziditchov beis medrash for the Kiddusha Rabba simcha of the grandson of his brother-in-law, HaGaon HaTzaddik Av Beis Din of Montreal shlit"a, for the baby girl born to Rabbi Elchonon Chaim Teitelbaum shlit"a, son-in-law of HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Shlomo Rubin shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Ziditchov, Kiryas Joel. The Rebbe made Kiddush and tasted mezonos and fish, and warmly blessed the baal simcha, the grandfather, the Av Beis Din of Ziditchov, Kiryas Joel, and the great-grandfather, HaGaon Rabbi Chaim Yaakov Rubin shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Ziditchov, and then the entire gathering. A longer conversation of stories of tzaddikim followed with the distinguished rabbanim shlit"a. It ended at around 1:15.

Seudah Shlishis

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered for Mincha and Seudah Shlishis at around 8:00. Mincha: R' Yoel Goldman. Hotzaah and Hachnasah: R' Yosef Lefkowitz. Kohen: Rabbi Yaakov Glick shlit"a (Williamsburg). The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "V'atah hinei heveisi es reishis pri ha'adamah" and explained that in the month of Elul, when one is engaged in teshuva, a shofar is blown; one must have at least a small opening, alluding to "Pischu li pesach k'chodo shel machat." One must make an issaruta d'lisata, and a beginning is half of everything.

Yedid Nefesh: Rabbi Peretz Tuvia Deutsch shlit"a. Kel Mistater: R' Zundel Drohmer. The Rebbe recited the blessing over the cup and said Sheva Brachos.

Maariv of Motzei Shabbos: R' Menachem Zev Makabetzky. After Havdalah the congregation went over to wish a good week. It ended at around 10:30.

After Havdalah, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a paid a condolence call to the family of R' Yosef Jacob a"h.
At around 12:40 the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a arrived at the hall of Beis Rachel Paradise for the siyum on Maseches Kiddushin by the hundreds of talmidim of the ninth-grade mechina l'yeshiva from both branches of Mosdos Kiryas Yoel. The parents and grandfathers of the bochurim also participated. ChaRuzim were sung, and the Rebbe drank lechayim and blessed the entire gathering. He delivered words of kodesh and, with emotion, expressed the significance of so many hundreds of bochurim completing all of Maseches Kiddushin, and concluded with many brachos.
Afterward the Rebbe distributed to all the bochurim a Zemiros Barach Moshe. It ended at around 1:15.
