Thursday, Parshas Haazinu, 5th Selichos — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At around 5:45 the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered for the recital of Selichos in the Beis Medrash HaGadol. The baal tefillah was R' Noach Gefen. They finished at around 6:25, and the Rebbe went home to his holy residence.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Beis Medrash HaGadol. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Yoel Rottenberg.

During the Torah reading the Rebbe went up for hagbah. After the reading, dozens of bochurim, talmidim of our holy yeshiva in Eretz Yisroel who came to spend the month of Tishrei in the Rebbe's presence, bentched gomel. After davening the Rebbe blew shofar, and afterwards a lechayim took place with the bar mitzvah bochur in his private room.

Hours for private audiences were from approximately 6:30 in the afternoon until 10:15 at night, at his holy residence on Ohel Court.

The Rebbe davened Mincha at around 7:45 and Maariv at around 9:30, and afterwards continued receiving the public.

Wednesday, Parshas Haazinu, 4th Selichos — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At around 5:45 the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered for the recital of Selichos in the Beis Medrash HaGadol. The baal tefillah was R' Dovid Eckstein. They finished at around 6:20, and the Rebbe went home to his holy residence.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Beis Medrash HaGadol. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim.
The son of HaGaon Rabbi Hersh Elimelech Teitelbaum shlit"a, Rav of our Beis Medrash Tefilla L'Moshe, Boro Park.

After davening the Rebbe blew shofar. Afterwards a lechayim took place with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room. A pleasant conversation developed about the customs of putting on tefillin in the courts of Rachmistrivka and Skvira, along with stories about the holy Rebbe R' Sholom of Belz zy"a, whose yahrzeit was that day.

Also entering for a private audience in his private room were the rabbanim of the Mikvah Committee of the Beis Din of Kiryas Joel, who showed the Rebbe the new "Luach Tevilas Keilim," which the rabbanim produced with the encouragement of the Rebbe shlit"a. The Rebbe gave various instructions and expressed praise for the tremendous benefit to the public that will result, and bestowed his holy blessings.

After Shacharis the Rebbe shlit"a went over to the "Eishes Chayil" vacation home, where a mezuzah affixing took place for a new section of 16 new rooms in the "Binyan Pesil Leah" in the Eishes Chayil complex. The Rebbe looked over the new, splendid floor, the spacious rooms and all the facilities, which were provided with great generosity, accompanied by the Eishes Chayil administration and the Kehilla leadership, who head the project. The Rebbe shlit"a then affixed the mezuzah on one of the new rooms, after which a lechayim gathering took place. There R' Gedalya Segedin, the Village administrator, presented to the Rebbe the tremendous achievements to date and showed a detailed list of the activities so far and the figures of how many vacationers make use of Eishes Chayil over the course of the year. The Rebbe drank lechayim and warmly bestowed his holy blessings.

On the way out, the Kehilla leadership showed the Rebbe the large area to the right of the building, where another enormous building is planned to be built in the "Eishes Chayil" complex, in order to accommodate thousands more reservations over the year.

During the hours of audiences, the Gaon HaGadol, Av Beis Din of Kiryas Joel shlit"a, entered for a private audience to give and receive blessings for the new year.

Also entering for a private audience to give and receive blessings for the new year was HaRav HaTzaddik R' Chaim Meir Hager shlit"a, Rosh Yeshiva of Vizhnitz, son of the Vizhnitz Rebbe shlit"a. A pleasant conversation took place about various customs of the month of Tishrei in the court of Vizhnitz, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessing upon him.

The Rebbe davened Mincha at around 7:30, and Maariv at around 11:50.

Tuesday, Parshas Haazinu – Third Day of Selichos – 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At around 5:45, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered the Beis Medrash HaGadol for the recitation of Selichos. The baal tefillah was HaRav HaChassid R' Aharon Wertzberger. It concluded at around 6:25, and the Rebbe returned to his holy home.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Beis Medrash HaGadol. Before davening, the Rebbe put on tefillin for the bar mitzvah bochurim.
The bochur Nosson Yoel Schwartz.
The bochur Yaakov Chaim Landau.
After davening, the Rebbe blew shofar, and then a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Rebbe's private room.

During the afternoon hours, the Rebbe shlit"a consoled by telephone the mourner HaRav HaGaon R' Berel Tauber shlit"a on the passing of his sister a"h, wife of Harav R' Aharon Dovid Neustadt shlit"a.

In the afternoon, the Rebbe shlit"a traveled into Williamsburg for the weekly kabbalas kehal. In Williamsburg, the Rebbe first went to console the mourners at the home of the deceased, HaRav HaChassid R' Shmuel Wasserman a"h, one of the distinguished members of Kehal Papa in Williamsburg.
The kabbalas kehal in the Rebbe's holy home on Hewes Street ran from around 4:20 in the afternoon until 10:30 at night.

The Rebbe davened Mincha at around 6:50 and Maariv at around 9:00, and then continued receiving the public.

Monday, Parshas Haazinu – Second Day of Selichos

At around 5:45, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered the Beis Medrash HaGadol for the recitation of Selichos. The baal tefillah was HaRav HaTzaddik R' Berel Glanz shlit"a of Bardiov, Kiryas Joel. It concluded at around 6:25, and the Rebbe returned to his holy home.

Before Shacharis, a bris took place for a newborn son of R' Yoel Bar"D Cohen, at which the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Beis Medrash HaGadol. Before davening, the Rebbe put on tefillin for the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Baruch Moshe Weiss.
During the Torah reading, the Rebbe went to the hagbah. After the reading, the Rebbe recited a Mi Sheberach for a woman who had given birth, for his grandson HaRav Yehoshua Mordechai Elazar Lavin shlit"a, son-in-law of HaGaon HaTzaddik, the rav of the beis medrash, Beirach Moshe shlit"a. After davening, the shofar was blown, and then a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochur in the Rebbe's private room.

The kabbalas kehal in the Rebbe's holy home on Ohel Court ran from around 6:00 in the afternoon until 10:15 at night.

The Rebbe davened Mincha at around 7:45.

The Rebbe shlit"a read the tenaim in the tenaim hall in his holy home for the following mechutanim:
R' Meir Dovid Heilbrunn – R' Eli Farkash.
R' Moshe Hersh Halpert – R' Moshe Baruch Englander.

After the kabbalas kehal, the Rebbe shlit"a went over to our Beis Medrash Beis Shmuel in the Divrei Chaim neighborhood in Kiryas Joel for the tenaim celebration of his grandson, the chosson HaRav Chaim Yechezkel Shraga Teitelbaum shlit"a, son of the HaGaon HaTzaddik, the rav of Beis Medrash Beis Baruch shlit"a, to the kallah, may she live, daughter of HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Yoel Halberstam shlit"a, rav of the Divrei Chaim neighborhood in Kiryas Joel, and a grandchild of the Av Beis Din of Boro Park shlit"a.
The Rebbe arrived at around 10:45 and greeted the distinguished grandfathers and rabbanim. The mechutanim shlit"a and the grandfathers, the HaGaon HaTzaddik Av Beis Din of Boro Park shlit"a and the HaGaon HaTzaddik Av Beis Din of Bertsh shlit"a, participated.
The Rebbe arranged the tenaim and honored his brother-in-law, the HaGaon HaTzaddik Av Beis Din of Boro Park shlit"a, with reading the tenaim. Serving as witnesses were HaRav HaChassid R' Moshe Dovid Friedman and HaRav HaChassid R' Meir HaKohen Gross. Standing on behalf of the chosson was HaRav HaChassid R' Eliezer Rubinstein. Standing on behalf of the kallah was HaRav HaChassid R' Moshe Goldstein.

The Rebbe shlit"a drank a lechayim and wished the chosson, the mechutanim, and the entire gathering well, and delivered holy words in honor of the simcha. The Rebbe quoted the Sanzer Rav zt"l, that a wedding in the month of Elul is a good preparation for the holy days, and expressed his joy at the shidduch with a grandchild of his father, the Beirach Moshe zy"a, and concluded with abundant blessings. Joyous melodies were sung, and the entire gathering went over to wish mazel tov. It concluded at around 11:45, and on the way out the Rebbe wished the kallah well, as is customary.

The Rebbe returned to his holy home, where he davened Maariv.

Sunday, Parshas Haazinu, First Day of Selichos — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At dawn, at around 5:20, the Rebbe shlit"a entered for the recital of Selichos in the Beis Medrash HaGadol in Kiryas Joel.
The Beis Medrash HaGadol, with all its sanctuaries and corridors, was filled to overflowing with many thousands of anash from throughout greater New York and New Jersey.
The Rebbe shlit"a led the davening before the amud with great fervor, wrapped in the tallis and wearing the kapel of the Divrei Yoel zy"a, from the collection of R' Avrohom Moshe Falkowitz, and recited the Selichos of the Divrei Yoel zy"a. They concluded at around 6:20, and the Rebbe returned to his holy home.

Before Shacharis, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Chaim Binyamin Eliezer Wertheimer, at which the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Beis Medrash HaGadol. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
the bochur Shlomo Zalman Horowitz.
the bochur Yaakov Elyakim Fischer.
the bochur Lipa Teitelbaum.
After davening, the Rebbe blew the shofar.

In the afternoon, at around 3:30, the Rebbe shlit"a arrived at the Kinor David halls, where a 'Siyum on Seder Bereishis' was held by the new class of Kita Gimmel of the Kiryas Joel mosdos. The parents and grandfathers of the children also participated. Rabbi Shmuel Eckstein shlit"a and Rabbi Yoel Oppenheim shlit"a spoke, the children sang several songs, and afterwards the children were tested at length on the whole of Seder Bereishis, conducted by Rabbi Yeshaya Panet shlit"a of Eretz Yisroel.
The Rebbe conveyed words of praise and a blessing that they should merit to complete the five Chumashim and continue on with the whole Torah. They concluded at around 3:50.

Yechidus hours in Kiryas Joel were from around 5:45 in the afternoon until 10:45 at night, in his holy home on Ohel Court.

The Rebbe shlit"a read the tenaim at the tenaim held in his holy home for the mechutanim R' Yaakov Yoel Goldenberg and R' Naftali Tzvi Chaim Landau (Tosh).

The Rebbe davened Mincha at around 7:30, and Maariv at around 10:45.
