Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Toldos — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

On Erev Shabbos afternoon, the Rebbe placed the shtreimel on the chassan Wolf, the bochur, son of Aharon Yosef Berger.

On Friday night at around 5:05, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha and Kabbalas Shabbos: HaGaon R' Yaakov Feldman shlit"a. They finished at around 6:40.
After davening, an appel was held for Talmud Torah Mishas Binyamin in Kiryas Joel, the holy city. The congregation went over to wish a good Shabbos, and the Rebbe went home to his holy dwelling.

At around 8:30, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the seudah in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with the talmidim of the mesivta, and began, as is his holy custom, with Shalom Aleichem with emotion and sweetness.
Eishes Chayil: the grandson of the Rebbe, the chassan Meir Eliezer, son of the Gaon, Rav of the beis medrash Birkas Moshe shlit"a. Hagbaha of the cup: R' Tzvi Akiva Breitstein, president of our kehilla and our holy mosdos in Beit Shemesh.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "And he smelled the fragrance of his garments," and explained in the way of aggadah that the holy Avos, with their luminous eyes, were able to recognize whether something was kosher by seeing whether the name of Hashem shone upon it.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "And he smelled the fragrance of his garments and blessed him," and explained that Yitzchak Avinu saw with his ruach hakodesh that there would be confusion of minds amid the clouds of galus and geulah and faith in the coming of Moshiach, so he hinted that one should believe that only the one and only Creator can and will redeem us and give back Eretz Yisroel, and only He will take vengeance for the spilled Jewish blood.

Yedid Nefesh: R' Avrohom Schwartz (London); Kel Mistatter: R' Moshe Dovid Reich (Williamsburg). The Rebbe made a blessing over the cup and recited Sheva Berachos.

Maariv of Motzei Shabbos: R' Eliezer Weiss. After Havdalah, the congregation went over to wish a gutte voch. They finished at around 7:30.
On Motzei Shabbos at around 11:15, the Rebbe shlit"a went to the halls of Kinor Dovid for the siyum on Hilchos Shabbos by the "Kollel Kinyan Shabbos" of Mivtzar HaKollelim in Kiryas Joel. The Rebbe drank lechayim and extended good wishes to the entire assembly, delivered divrei Torah on the importance and significance of learning Hilchos Shabbos, and concluded with his holy blessing to all the learners and the kollel's administration. The Rebbe left the hall at around 11:30.

Friday, Parshas Toldos 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Kedushas Yoel branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:

Thursday, Parshas Toldos, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the morning, before Shacharis, a bris was held for the newborn son of R' Leibush Kessler, at which the Rebbe served as sandek.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Beirach Moshe branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:

During the Torah reading, the Rebbe went to the hagbah, and after davening he delivered a shiur on a sugya in the yeshiva's shiurim. Afterwards, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room.

During the morning hours, the Rebbe made his weekly visit to the mehudar slaughterhouse.

In the afternoon, at around 5:10, the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home.

During the reception hours, HaGaon Rabbi Meshulam Nosson Spiegel shlit"a, Rav of Beis Medrash Tefilla L'Moshe Kalashin of Monsey, entered together with his father-in-law, HaRav Moshe Gross shlit"a of Kerestir, to receive the Rebbe's blessing in honor of the upcoming wedding of his granddaughter, mazel tov. A pleasant conversation ensued, and the Rebbe bestowed his blessing upon him.

Also entering was the HaGaon, Rav of Beis Medrash Sanz Kiryas Joel shlit"a, who brought the newly reprinted holy sefer Divrei Chaim for Chanukah. The Rebbe studied the sefer for an extended time and then engaged in a lengthy conversation about the life and times of the holy Sanzer Rebbe zy"a.

The Rebbe also tested the bochur Yosef Meir, son of HaRav R' Wolf Aharon Teller shlit"a, on Hilchos Shabbos.

Tuesday, Parshas Toldos, Rosh Chodesh Kislev — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Etz Chaim branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put on tefillin with the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Efraim Hecht.
The Rebbe proceeded to Hallel, and during the Torah reading he was called up as the fourth aliyah. After davening, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochur in the Heichal of the beis medrash, where the Rebbe told stories about the holy Rebbe R' Hersh of Rimanov zy"a.

In the afternoon, the Rebbe shlit"a went up to the Heichal HaYeshiva, Kedushas Yoel branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the talmidim of the yeshiva in his private room. At 5:10 the Rebbe davened Mincha in the yeshiva.

After Mincha, the Rebbe shlit"a traveled to Williamsburg for the weekly yechidus hours.

Upon arriving in Williamsburg at around 7:10, the Rebbe participated in the kabbalas panim of the wedding celebration of the grandson of his brother-in-law, the Vizhnitz Rebbe of Eretz Yisroel shlit"a. The chassan is the son of his son-in-law HaGaon R' Moshe Mordechai Katz shlit"a, son of the Viener Rebbe shlit"a. The wedding took place in the halls of Eden Palace. Songs of inspiration were sung, and the Rebbe drank a lechayim and warmly wished the chassan, the mechutanim, and the grandfathers well. The Rebbe left the hall at around 7:25.

Afterwards, the Rebbe paid a condolence call to the family of HaRav HaChasid R' Aharon Bleich a"h on the passing of their mother a"h.

From there the Rebbe went to the halls of Continental, where he officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the mechutanim HaRav HaChasid R' Tzvi Meir Gottlieb and HaRav HaChasid R' Shalom Yitzchak Jacobowitz, one of the leaders of our holy kehilla.

The yechidus hours in the Rebbe's home on Hooper St. ran from around 7:45 until 12:10 at night.

During the yechidus hours, HaGaon Rabbi, the Av Beis Din of Selish shlit"a, came in to receive the Rebbe's blessing on the occasion of his son's marriage, mazel tov. A pleasant conversation ensued, and the Rebbe bestowed his blessing upon him.
Likewise, HaGaon R' Yosef Horowitz shlit"a, Rosh Av Beis Din of Munkatch, son-in-law of the Munkatch Rebbe shlit"a, came in to receive the Rebbe's blessing on the occasion of his daughter's marriage, mazel tov. A pleasant conversation ensued, and the Rebbe bestowed his blessing upon him.
Likewise, HaGaon R' Eliezer Zusya Portugal shlit"a, son of the Skulen Rebbe shlit"a, came in to receive the Rebbe's blessing on the occasion of his daughter's marriage, mazel tov, and the Rebbe bestowed his blessing upon him.

During the yechidus hours, a lechayim celebration was also held on the occasion of the finalization of the purchase of the large property where our new beis medrash will soon be built, on 18th Ave. in Boro Park. The Rebbe reviewed the sketches of the beis medrash and of the Heichal HaTorah, drank a lechayim, and wished well to the Dayan of the beis medrash, HaGaon R' Avrohom Meir Halberstam shlit"a, to the mispallelim, and especially to the donors.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 11:30, and then continued receiving the public.

After the yechidus hours, the Rebbe shlit"a traveled to Boro Park, where he graced, as head of the simcha, the wedding celebration of a grandson of the Beirach Moshe zy"a. The chassan is the son of HaGaon R' Yoel Henoch Horowitz shlit"a, son-in-law of the HaGaon, Rav of our kehilla in Boro Park 15 shlit"a. The wedding took place in the halls of Ateres Chinka.
The Rebbe arrived at around 12:40. A pleasant conversation took place with the distinguished grandfathers. The Rebbe drank a lechayim and wished well to the chassan, the mechutanim, the grandfathers, and the entire public. Afterwards, the badchan of the king, HaRav HaChasid R' Mordechai Dovid Oestreicher, called the Rebbe shlit"a to the mitzvah dance, and the Rebbe danced the elevated mitzvah dance for a lengthy time. He then danced with the chassan, the mechutanim, and the grandfathers, and in an extra dance with his brother, HaGaon, Rav of our kehilla in Boro Park 15 shlit"a. Then he danced with the whole family. The Rebbe then remained for the mitzvah dance of his brother shlit"a and afterwards danced with the family members.
On his way out, the Rebbe wished the kallah well, as is the custom. The simcha ended at around 1:15, and the Rebbe traveled home to his holy residence in Kiryas Joel.

Sunday, Parshas Toldos — "B'tzeil HaKodesh" with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Divrei Yoel branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put on tefillin for the bar mitzvah bochurim.

After davening, the Rebbe gave the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 18, verse 34. Afterwards, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room.

During the morning hours, the Rebbe shlit"a paid a visit to the matzah bakery of Kiryas Joel, where, among other things, the Rebbe looked around the new enlarged storage area and the expanded hand-mill (rachayim shel yad) department, and gave various instructions.

In the afternoon, the Rebbe shlit"a went up to the Heichal HaYeshiva, Divrei Yoel branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the talmidim of the yeshiva in his private room, and at around 5:10 the Rebbe davened Mincha in the yeshiva.

Yechidus hours on Motzei Shabbos were from around 8:00 until 9:20 in the evening, in his holy home on Ohel Court.

After the yechidus hours, the Rebbe shlit"a read the tenaim in the tenaim hall in his holy home, between the mechutanim HaGaon Rabbi Alexander Yekusiel Landau shlit"a, Rav of the Lizhensk beis medrash, and R' Yoel Berish Schwartz.
After the tenaim, the Rebbe davened Maariv.

In the evening, the gathering of learners and siyum on Maseches Nazir took place under the auspices of the Yesodei HaTorah group, with thousands of the group's learners in Kiryas Joel, held in the magnificent Ginat Klein halls.
HaGaon Rabbi Dovid Shlomo Laub shlit"a, magid shiur in our holy kehilla in Monsey, served as chairman of the event. The featured speaker, HaGaon Rabbi Shalom Shraga Paplenash shlit"a, spoke, as did the director of Kvias Itim, Rabbi Yoel Weinberger shlit"a.

At around 10:00 the founder and president of the group, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, was received. The chairman continued and called upon Rabbi Yechezkel Gelbstein shlit"a to come forward in honor of his father-in-law, the patron of the group, the distinguished philanthropist R' Akiva Hersh Klein.
The Rebbe drank a lechayim and offered blessings to the entire gathering, and especially to the patron of the group, the distinguished philanthropist R' Akiva Hersh. He then delivered words of holy Torah on the verse "And may G-d give you of the fat of the land," and brought out, based on the idea that "a mitzvah is called only after the one who completes it," the tremendous joy of the residents of Kiryas Joel and all the community members everywhere who completed the maseches. He encouraged them to continue learning with fixed regularity now, as they begin Maseches Sotah, which is an easier maseches. He continued in praise of the esteemed patron of the group, the distinguished philanthropist R' Akiva Hersh, blessing him with abundant blessings, and concluded with his holy blessings to all those completing and beginning.
The Rebbe led the siyum and recited the Hadran. R' Meir Hirsch was honored with Kaddish. Afterwards the Rebbe broke out in a joyous dance for an extended time. The event concluded at around 11:20.

After davening, the simchas Kiddush Rabbah in honor of the newborn took place in the Heichal HaPolish in our holy courts, hosted by the Rebbe's son-in-law, HaGaon Rabbi Rav Dbeis Medrash Kol Eliyahu shlit"a. The Rebbe made Kiddush, niggunei simcha were sung, and the baal simcha spoke. The Rebbe drank lechayim and warmly wished the baal simcha and the entire gathering well. He delivered divrei Torah on the verse "And Avrohom was old, well on in years," explaining that Avrohom Avinu used the middos of yirah and anavah to be able to restrain the ahavah, and he concluded with a bracha. They finished at around 12:45.

The Rebbe shlit"a entered for Mincha and Shalosh Seudos at around 5:15. Mincha: R' Yoel ben Hirsch. Hotza'ah and Hachnasah: R' Uri Yuda Kaufman. Kohen: Rabbi Nechemia Kahana shlit"a. Levi: R' Yoel Berger. Shlishi: the Rebbe's grandson, Rabbi Chaim Hersh Teitelbaum shlit"a of Ratzfert (Boro Park). Hagbah: the Rebbe shlit"a. Gelila: R' Yechiel Klein (Montreal).

At Shalosh Seudos, the Rebbe honored people with the zemiros. Odeh: R' Noach Gefen; Shir HaMaalos: R' Anshil Lichtenstein.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "And Avrohom was old, well on in years," explaining that through engaging in Torah, the power of hearing is opened so that one can hear the bas kol from Heaven, and it awakens the heart toward Hashem.

Yedid Nefesh: R' Yuda Moshe Gelb (Montreal); Kel Mistater: R' Shmuel Berger. The Rebbe blessed over the cup and recited Sheva Brachos.

Maariv, Motzei Shabbos: from Shabbos Kodesh, R' Yoshe Mendlowitz. After Havdalah, the congregation went over to wish a gutte voch. They finished at around 7:40.

After Havdalah, a group of bochurim, talmidei Yeshivas Bobov of Boro Park who spent Shabbos b'tzeil hakodesh, entered the Rebbe's holy residence. The Rebbe asked them about their learning and blessed them with his holy bracha.

At around 10:40, the Rebbe shlit"a arrived at Camp Nitra in Woodbourne for the Melaveh Malkah following the elevated Shabbos, led by HaGaon HaMashpia R' Yosef Chaim Greenwald shlit"a, for the 'V'Talmudo B'Yado' group of the yeshivos ketanos of the Kiryas Joel mosdos.
HaGaon R' Baruch Shlomo Weinberger shlit"a, head administrator in Kiryas Joel, spoke. Then the siyum took place, at which dozens of bochurim completed many masechtos of Shas, and HaGaon R' Chaim Eliezer Davidowitz shlit"a, administrator of the Yeshiva Ketana Avnei Tzedek branch, recited Kaddish. Afterwards the examiner, HaGaon R' Avrohom Schwartz shlit"a of Bnei Brak, tested the bochurim by heart for an extended time while the Rebbe watched with great nachas.

The Rebbe drank lechayim and wished the heads of the group and all the bochurim well, especially the patron of the group, R' Yitzchak Schwartz, to whom he gave an extra mazel tov in honor of the marriage of his son, the chasan.
The Rebbe shlit"a delivered divrei Torah about the importance of learning Torah during free time, and concluded with abundant brachos for all the bochurim and the heads of the group. They finished at around 11:20, and the Rebbe traveled home to his holy residence in Kiryas Joel.

Thursday, Parshas Chayei Sarah — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the morning, before Shacharis, a bris took place for a newborn son of R' Avrohom Menachem Wertheimer, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Beirach Moshe branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
the bochur Yoshe Hersh Glick.
the bochur Chaim Dov Yaakov Neiman.
During the Torah reading, the Rebbe went up for Hagbah.

Right after Shacharis, the Rebbe shlit"a went over to the front of the Beis Medrash HaGadol, where the Rebbe participated in the levaya of HaRav HaChassid R' Aharon Shaul Sandel a"h.

Afterwards the Rebbe shlit"a went back up to the yeshiva, where the Rebbe delivered a shiur on a sugya in the weekly shiur, after which a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room.
The Rebbe also distributed leather-bound Zemiros to the yeshiva students who had presented themselves for examination on the entire Maseches Kesubos that was learned last year.

In the afternoon, around 5:15, the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home.

Reception hours (kvitlach) were from around 8:00 until 12:30 at night, in his holy home on Ohel Court.

The Rebbe shlit"a read the tena'im in the tena'im hall in his holy home for the mechutanim R' Yoel Berish Scheer and R' Hershel Zabel.

After the tena'im the Rebbe davened Maariv, and then continued receiving the public.

During the reception hours, the students of Yeshiva Toras Tmimah of Lakewood entered, headed by HaRav Binyamin Margaliyos shlit"a, where the Rebbe examined them on Maseches Gittin, and then bestowed upon them from his holy blessings.
