Motzei Shabbos, the Night of the 3rd Day of Chanukah — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At around 10:25 the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered the main beis medrash for the Chanukah candle lighting, in the presence of a large crowd, in the majesty of a king. The Rebbe poured in the oil and recited the blessings over the lighting.
Afterwards the Rebbe recited the zemiros, inspiring melodies were sung, and the choir sang the piyutim as is customary.
Among those present were the Spinka Beis Yitzchak Rebbe shlit"a, the Zidichov Chadarim Rebbe shlit"a, and HaGaon Rabbi, the Av Beis Din of Wojslaw shlit"a.
After the zemiros the Rebbe distributed coins to the singers and to the children of the choir.

Afterwards the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a delivered a holy discourse of Torah thoughts and pilpul on the sugya in Maseches Shabbos regarding "kibsah zakuk lah" (when it is extinguished, one is still obligated regarding it). He then continued in the manner of aggadah, explaining that the Chanukah light brings down parnassah, and concluded with his holy blessings.
After the discourse, singing of niggunim continued. The Rebbe drank a lechayim and wished blessings: "A good week and a bright Chanukah." It concluded at around 11:35.

On the way home to his holy residence in Kiryas Joel, the Rebbe stopped in Monsey, where the Rebbe comforted the mourner, R' Moshe Taback, on the loss of his wife a"h.

Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Vayeishev, Shabbos Chanukah, Mevarchim Chodesh Teves - 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a in our holy kehilla in Williamsburg

On Erev Shabbos afternoon, after the first five o'clock hour, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a lit the menorah in his holy home. The Rebbe lit in the menorah that the Rebbe, the Divrei Yoel zy"a, lit in the years when he spent the days of Chanukah in Florida. After lighting, the Rebbe recited the piyut of "Hanerot" as is customary.

On Friday night at around 5:00, the Rebbe entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and went up to Mincha.
After Mincha, an appeal was held for the beis horaah of our holy kehilla. HaGaon Rabbi Hersh Leib Bernstein shlit"a, dayan of our Beis Medrash Beis Menachem Tzvi, spoke.
Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Yudel son of R' Hirsh. Davening ended at around 6:40, the congregation passed by to wish a good Shabbos, and the Rebbe went home to his holy residence.

At around 9:40, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the pure tish in the hall of the beis medrash, and began, as is his holy custom, "Shalom Aleichem" with emotion and sweetness.
Eishes Chayil: the Rebbe's grandson, the chassan Yoel, may he be well, son of the Gaon Av Beis Din of Sighet shlit"a. Raising the cup: the Gaon Av Beis Din of Williamsburg shlit"a.

The Rebbe shlit"a honored people with the zemiros. Kol Mekadesh: HaGaon Rabbi Yechezkel Glanz shlit"a of Bardiov. Menucha V'Simcha: HaGaon Rabbi Chaim Dovid Rubin shlit"a, rav of Beis Medrash Ohel Torah.

The Rebbe shlit"a delivered a Torah discourse on the verse "Vayeishev Yaakov b'eretz megurei aviv," explaining it in the manner of derush and pilpul interwoven with themes of Chanukah.

Stories and accounts: This week the Rebbe shlit"a related stories about the holy R' Moshe'le Dees'er zy"a, whose yahrzeit was on Thursday, 24 Kislev.

Kah Ribon Olam: Rabbi Zalman Leib Teitelbaum shlit"a, son of HaGaon R' Aharon shlit"a, rav of Beis Medrash Eitz Chaim Sighet Monsey. The new chassanim went over to take fruit.

Shabbos Day

On Shabbos morning, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash at around 9:20. Pesukei D'Zimra: R' Chaim Yaakov. The Rebbe went up to Shacharis and Hallel.

Baal Koreh: R' Mendel Mittelman.

Aliyos. Kohen: R' Yaakov Kastu. Levi: R' Akiva Hirsch. Shlishi: the Gaon Av Beis Din shlit"a. Revi'i: the chassan, the bochur Meir Moshe Spitzer. Chamishi: the baal bris, R' Yaakov Yuda Weiss. Shishi: the Rebbe shlit"a. Shevi'i: R' Avrohom Meir Yaakov son of R' Shraga Zev Palachek - the Rebbe was the one to call him up in honor of the birth of his daughter, mazel tov. Ra'avah D'Ra'avin

The Rebbe entered the beis medrash for Mincha and Shalosh Seudos at around 5:00. Mincha: R' Yitzchok Ehrenfeld. Hotzaah and Hachnasah: R' Yonason Shtessel. Kohen: R' Hershel Katz. Levi: R' Dovid Steinberg. Shlishi: R' Yitzchok Ehrenfeld. Hagbah: the Rebbe shlit"a. Gelilah: R' Avrohom Mendel Wertheimer.

At Shalosh Seudos the Rebbe honored people with the zemiros. Odeh: R' Boruch Ilowitz. Shir HaMaalos: R' Menachem Gershon Lebowitz.

The Rebbe shlit"a delivered a Torah discourse on the Midrash, "The duda'im gave forth fragrance - this is Reuven who saved Yosef; and at our doorways - this is Ner Chanukah." He explained that from Chanukah we draw a lesson in the importance of even a small amount of Torah, teshuva and good deeds, and that in the merit of the Chanukah lights, parnassah is bestowed in abundance even with only a little hishtadlus.

Yedid Nefesh: R' Bentzion HaLevi Wertzberger. Kel Mistater: R' Chaim HaLevi Heller. The Rebbe recited the blessing over the cup.
Before Maariv, the shamash R' Shlomo Wertzberger lit the menorah, and sweets were thrown as is customary. Maariv for Motzei Shabbos: R' Avrohom Moshe Falkowitz. After Havdalah, the Rebbe wished the entire congregation a good week. Davening ended at around 7:15.

The night of the first night of Chanukah — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At the time of Rabbeinu Tam, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a davened Maariv in his holy home. Before Maariv, HaGaon R' Berel Stein lit the menorah.

At around 8:00 the Rebbe shlit"a traveled into Williamsburg.

At around 9:30 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the main beis medrash in Williamsburg for the Chanukah candle lighting, amid a great crowd, in the majesty of a king. The Rebbe poured in the oil and recited the berachos with holy fire.
Afterward the Rebbe said the zemiros, and stirring nigunim were sung; the choir sang the piyutim as customary.

Then the Rebbe shlit"a delivered a Torah discourse of drush and pilpul on the sugya in Maseches Shabbos of "kevsa zakuk lah," and then continued with an aggadic thought, "to tell the praise of Aharon, that he did not change": when Aharon HaKohen lit the menorah, he shone a radiance into the heart of every Jew, so that it did not allow them to sleep and they got up before dawn to learn. The Chanukah lights have the same power, and the Rebbe urged strengthening oneself in Torah learning before dawn, and concluded with his holy blessing.

After the discourse, nigunim continued to be sung. The Rebbe drank a lechayim and wished holy blessings. It ended at around 10:45.

Friday, Parshas Vayeishev, first day of Chanukah

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the main beis medrash in Williamsburg together with the students of grades 7, 8 and 9. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur the bochur Yitzchak Yoel Lichtenstein.
The Rebbe approached Hallel with great stirring of heart, and during the Torah reading went to hagbah.
After davening a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochur in his private room.

Wednesday, Parshas Vayeishev, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning before Shacharis, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Yoel Klein, where the Rebbe served as sandek.

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in Heichal HaMesivta, the Vayoel Moshe branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
The bochur Lipa Neustadt.
The bochur Yaakov Klein.
The bochur Yom Tov Berger.
The bochur Shimon Yisroel Kornbluh.

After davening, the Rebbe recited the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 19, verse 3. Afterwards, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Rebbe's private room.

During the morning hours, the Rebbe made his weekly visit to the mehudar slaughterhouse.

In the afternoon at around 5:10, the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home.

In the evening, the Rebbe shlit"a paid a shiva call to HaRav R' Avrohom Shalom Landau and his sons, on the passing of his son / their brother a"h.
The Rebbe also paid a shiva call to the children of HaRav R' Shlomo Strulovitch a"h, on the passing of their mother a"h.

The reception hours were from around 8:45 until 12:30 at night, in his holy home on Ohel Court.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 11:30, and afterwards continued receiving the public.

Tuesday, Parshas Vayeishev

This morning before Shacharis, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Simcha Yisroel Apfel, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Beis Medrash HaGadol. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Nechemya Eckstein.
After davening, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochur in the Rebbe's private room.

After Shacharis, the Rebbe went to the beis hachaim, where the Rebbe participated in the levaya of HaRav R' Lipa Brach Landau a"h of Monsey.

In the afternoon at around 5:15, the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home.

In the evening, the Rebbe shlit"a traveled to Monsey, to the Bernov beis medrash, where the Rebbe paid a shiva call to the Bernov Rebbe shlit"a and the Rebbes, the brothers of Rachmistrivka shlit"a, who are sitting shiva for his wife / their sister, the Rebbetzin of Bernov a"h.

From there the Rebbe shlit"a traveled to Williamsburg for the weekly reception hours.
The reception hours were from around 8:45 until 12:15 at night, in his holy home on Hewes St.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 11:35 and afterwards continued receiving the public.

Monday, Parshas Vayeishev, Yom HaHatzalah, 21 Kislev, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the morning, before Shacharis, a bris was held for a newborn son of R' Avrohom Weiser, where the Rebbe served as sandek.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Beis Medrash HaGadol. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Yissachar Ber Epstein.
During the Torah reading, the Rebbe went up for Hagbah, and after davening a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochur in the Rebbe's private room.

In the afternoon at around 5:10, the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home.

After Mincha, at around 5:40, the Rebbe shlit"a went to the Heichal HaMesivta, Branch Berach Moshe, for the Maamad HaHodaah in the yeshiva of the holy Rebbe, the Baal HaNes zy"a. Upon arrival, the Rebbe danced in place for an extended time to "Chasdei Hashem" and other songs of thanksgiving. The distinguished speaker, HaGaon Rabbi Yaakov Shapiro shlit"a, Rav of the Beis Din of Bayswater and member of the Neturei rabbanim, then continued with his address.

Afterwards the Rebbe shlit"a delivered a holy address on the verse "Odeh Hashem b'chol levav," bringing out that one must praise Hashem for the fact that we are able to praise Him and have the merit to be students and chassidim of the holy Rebbe zy"a. He spoke about the difficult state in which Klal Yisroel found itself after the war, how many Jewish souls were, sadly, lost, until the holy Rebbe zy"a rebuilt the chareidi world and devoted himself like a father to a child. The same applies to the war against the plague of Zionism: even if one hears from others that there are still other approaches, when one looks at the rivers of tears with which the holy Rebbe zy"a waged the war, one knows the truth. It was a holy war, which those who heard it from his holy mouth will never forget. The Rebbe welcomed the distinguished speaker and related a story about the Yismach Moshe zy"a: when one sees that one honors another talmid chacham and feels the same as when one is being honored oneself, it is a sign that one means the honor of the Torah and not one's own honor. The Rebbe brought out that we are now in the midst of the difficult decrees regarding chinuch in New York. If at times one felt like a voice calling in the wilderness with no one listening, today one hears that, Baruch Hashem, there are other distinguished rabbanim involved in this matter, and praised be Hashem that there are others who are acting, among them the distinguished guest HaGaon Rabbi Yaakov Shapiro shlit"a. The Rebbe mentioned an assembly on Sunday of rabbanim with the Congress speaker and government officials. From what was heard today, he derived great nachas and thanked Hashem that there are others who are acting. He then honored HaGaon Rabbi Yaakov shlit"a to relate what took place there, and afterwards thanked him and wished success to the rabbanim and askanim to avert the evil of the decree, and concluded with his holy blessing. It ended at around 6:30, and the Rebbe left the yeshiva accompanied by the yeshiva students.

In the evening, the Rebbe shlit"a officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppahs of the following mechutanim.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 11:00.
