Tuesday, Parshas Vayechi — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Beis Medrash HaGadol. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Elchanan Shlome Zalman Gross.

After davening, the simcha of the bris milah took place of the Rebbe's grandson, the newborn son of Rabbi Baruch Teitelbaum shlit"a, son of HaGaon Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum shlit"a, son of the HaGaon, Rav of our kehilla in Boro Park 15 shlit"a, and son-in-law of the HaGaon, Rav of the Beis Medrash Beis Baruch shlit"a.
The honors were as follows. Mohel: the Chadvan HaGaon, Rav of the Beis Medrash Beirach Moshe shlit"a; Sandek: the Rebbe shlit"a; Sandek standing: the HaGaon, Rav of our kehilla in Boro Park 15 shlit"a; Brachos: the HaGaon, Av Beis Din of Bertsh shlit"a; Naming: the Gorlitz Rebbe shlit"a. "And his name shall be called in Yisroel": Moshe, after the double-grandfather of the Rebbe, the holy Beirach Moshe zy"a.
After the bris, the entire congregation went over to wish the Rebbe shlit"a mazel tov, and afterwards a lechayim took place with the bar mitzvah bochur in the Rebbe's private room.

After a short while the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Polish room in the Beis Medrash HaGadol for the seudas bris milah.
During the seudah, words of Torah were delivered by the baal simcha, the father of the baby, and by the grandfathers, the HaGaon, Rav of the Beis Medrash Beis Baruch shlit"a, and the HaGaon Rabbi Yoel T"B shlit"a.
With "Yom Libeshah" the Rebbe honored his grandson, the chasan Chaim Yechezkel Shraga Teitelbaum, son of the HaGaon, Rav of the Beis Medrash Beis Baruch shlit"a.

The Rebbe shlit"a delivered holy words on the topic of bris milah, and warmly blessed the baal simcha, the grandfathers, and the entire congregation.
For Birchas Hamazon the Rebbe honored his brother, the HaGaon, Rav of our kehilla in Boro Park 15 shlit"a, and the Harachaman's were given to the members of the family. The seudah concluded at around 1:00.

In the afternoon at around 5:15, the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home.

In the evening, the Rebbe shlit"a traveled to Williamsburg for the weekly reception times.
The reception times in private audience lasted from around 8:30 until 12:40 after midnight, in his holy home on Hooper St.

During the reception times, the HaGaon, Av Beis Din of London shlit"a, entered in private audience. A pleasant conversation took place, and the Rebbe honored him with a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessings.

Also entering in private audience was HaGaon HaRav R' Meir Flexer shlit"a, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivas Chiddushei HaRim in Tel Aviv, accompanied by Rabbi Yisroel Ginsburg, director general of Yeshivas Chiddushei HaRim in Eretz Yisroel, and Rabbi Moshe Weitman, director general of Yeshivas Chiddushei HaRim in the United States. A pleasant Torah discussion developed, followed by a discussion on the chinuch of yeshiva students, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessings.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 11:00, and afterwards continued receiving the public.

On Monday morning, a group from the Jewish community in Cincinnati, Ohio, was received in private audience by the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a. The Rebbe heard a report on the local kehilla and mosdos, and in particular about the bikur cholim work, in which they devote themselves with full mesirus nefesh for all those who need to come to the local hospital.
The Rebbe spoke words of chizuk and bestowed his holy blessings, especially regarding the founding of the Hatzolah there, where the leadership of Kiryas Joel Hatzolah is assisting them in every way possible.
The Rebbe especially blessed Rabbi Avrohom Weinreb shlit"a and the head of the bikur cholim, Rabbi Yisroel Kaufman shlit"a, who stand at the helm of all the activities and askanus.

Monday, Parshas Vayechi

This morning, before Shacharis, a bris was held for the newborn son of R' Nachman Glick, at which the Rebbe served as sandek.

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Divrei Yoel branch. During the Torah reading the Rebbe was called up as Shlishi, and after davening he recited the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 9, verse 11.

During the morning hours, a gathering was held in the Rebbe's holy home with all the administrators of our holy mosdos throughout Greater New York, together with various askanim and communal activists on behalf of the future of chinuch. They discussed and reviewed with great seriousness the details of the decrees against chinuch and the technical specifics of not taking any step from the 7 petitions and not responding to the government. The Rebbe shlit"a bestowed from his holy blessing that they should continue to succeed in completely nullifying the decree.

In the afternoon the Rebbe shlit"a went up to the Heichal HaYeshiva, Kedushas Yoel branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the talmidei hayeshiva in his private room. At around 5:10 the Rebbe davened Mincha in the yeshiva.

In the evening the Rebbe shlit"a officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the following mechutanim:
R' Shlomo Dovid Yechezkel Greenfeld – HaRav R' Shmuel Eckstein shlit"a, at Kinor Dovid hall.
R' Chaim Weiss – R' Yitzchak Menashe Steinfeld, at Beis Rachel Paradise hall.

In the Rebbe's holy home an urgent gathering was held with the heads of the administration of the Yesod Lev institutions in Eretz Yisroel, together with the leading askanim. The Rebbe shlit"a demanded that in every way the amounts of support sent from the American office to the holy mosdos in Eretz Yisroel be increased. The Rebbe pointed out that the younger generation must be awakened further to the obligation of Satmar talmidim to generously support the holy Yesod Lev institutions in Eretz Yisroel, which were the apple of the eye of our holy Rebbes zy"a.

Entry times to the Rebbe were from about 7:40 until 12:30 at night, in the Rebbe's holy home on Uhel Court.

The Rebbe shlit"a read the tenaim at the tenaim held in his holy home of the mechutanim R' Yoel Friedrich – R' Avrohom Palacsek.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 11:40, and afterward continued receiving the public.

HaGaon R' Yehuda Deutsch shlit"a, a mashpia of Breslov in Eretz Yisroel, visited the Rebbe during entry times. A longer conversation developed in matters of Torah and chassidus. Among other things, the host, HaRav R' Shalom Yitzchak Jacobowitz of Eretz Yisroel, showed the Rebbe a siddur of the Rashash that had belonged to the holy Rebbe, the Divrei Yoel zy"a. The Rebbe gave him a gift of his sefer Lev Aharon on Maseches Avos and bestowed from his holy blessing.

After entry times, at around 12:35, the Rebbe shlit"a went over to the home of his son, HaGaon Rabbi, the Rav of Beis Medrash Beis Boruch shlit"a, for the Vach Nacht celebration of his grandson, the newborn son of his son-in-law Rabbi Boruch Teitelbaum shlit"a. A pleasant conversation developed about various customs of Vach Nacht of our holy Rebbes of the Atzei HaTemarim family zy"a and more. The Rebbe drank lechayim, tasted some refreshments and fish, and wished the baal simcha, the grandfathers, and the entire gathering well. Afterward the Rebbe recited Krias Shema and blessed the mothers as is customary. The gathering ended at around 1:15.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Kedushas Yoel branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Yitzchak Aharon Hollander.

After davening, the Rebbe learned the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 9, verse 10. Afterwards, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochur in the Rebbe's private room.

In the afternoon, the Rebbe shlit"a went up to the Heichal HaYeshiva, Divrei Yoel branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the talmidim of the yeshiva in his private room. At around 5:10 the Rebbe davened Mincha in the yeshiva.

In the evening, the Rebbe shlit"a officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppahs of the following mechutanim:
R' Ari Herskowitz - R' Yoel Mendlowitz, at Kinor David hall.

Shabbos, Parshas Vayigash — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

On Friday night, the Tenth of Teves, at around 4:35, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis. Mincha: HaRav HaTzaddik R' Berel Glantz shlit"a of Bardiov, Kiryas Joel. Hotza'ah and hachnasah (taking out and returning the Torah): R' Shlomo Gottesman. Baal korei: R' Dovid Eckstein of Eretz Yisroel.
Aliyos. Kohen: R' Yitzchak Pinchas Glantzer. Levi: R' Yehoshua Wertzberger. Shlishi and Maftir: the Rebbe shlit"a. Hagbah: R' Meir Wertheimer. Gelilah: R' Yitzchak Friedman.

Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Yaakov Yosef Filaf. Davening ended at around 6:05. After davening, the Rebbe went up to the Aron Kodesh and wished the entire congregation a good Shabbos, then went into his private room.

At around 6:20 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Shabbos seudah in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with the talmidei hamesivta, and began, as is his custom, with Shalom Aleichem, with feeling and sweetness.
Eishes Chayil: the Rebbe's grandson, the chassan Meir Eliezer ט"ב, son of HaGaon HaRav Rav of the beis medrash Berech Moshe shlit"a. Raising of the cup: Rabbi Nachman Brach shlit"a (Beit Shemesh).

Before the meat course the Rebbe shlit"a delivered words of Torah about the Tenth of Teves and its history, and especially the moral lesson that we see that the beginning is half of everything.

The Rebbe shlit"a honored people with the zemiros. Kol Mekadesh: Rabbi Nachman Brach shlit"a. Menucha V'Simcha: R' Chaim Yakov (Williamsburg).

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "U'vnei Dan Chushim" and explained it in the manner of derush in the sugya of "shelo k'derech hanaasan".
They continued singing, and in between the Rebbe explained two further approaches in the sugya of "aseh docheh lo sa'aseh" in the Mikdash, and in the sugya of "aseh lifnei hadibbur docheh lo sa'aseh le'achar hadibbur".

Stories and Anecdotes: This week the Rebbe shlit"a related about HaGaon HaKadosh, the Baal Erech Shai zt"l, Av Beis Din of Sighet, whose yahrzeit fell on Shabbos Kodesh, 11 Teves.

Kah Ribon Olam: the baal simcha, the Rebbe's grandson Rabbi Baruch Teitelbaum shlit"a, son-in-law of HaGaon HaRav of the beis medrash Beis Baruch shlit"a. The new chassanim went over to take fruit. Afterwards the Shalom Zachar took place at the Rebbe's grandson Rabbi Baruch Teitelbaum shlit"a. Bundlach and beer were brought in, simcha niggunim were sung, and the Rebbe wished the baal simcha, the grandfathers and the entire congregation well, and distributed shirayim to the family members.

On Shabbos Kodesh

On Shabbos morning the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash at around 9:30. Pesukei D'Zimra: R' Aryeh Roth. The Rebbe went up to the amud for Shacharis.

Kohen: R' Yoel son of R' Chaim Yeshaya Gross. Levi: HaRav R' Yoel Weinberger shlit"a, moreh tzedek in our holy kehilla in Williamsburg. Shlishi: R' Yitzchak Dovid Landau (Williamsburg). Hagbah: the Rebbe shlit"a. Gelilah: Rabbi Nachman Brach shlit"a.

At Shalosh Seudos the Rebbe honored people with the zemiros. Odeh: R' Noach Gafen. Shir HaMaalos: R' Moshe Goldstein.
The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "V'higadetem l'avi es kol k'vodi b'Mitzrayim" and explained that Yosef HaTzaddik, even though he was in Egypt, retained the imprint of holiness from the Torah he had earlier learned with Yaakov Avinu. Likewise, from the power of Yosef HaTzaddik an imprint of holiness remained, so that when a Jew learns Torah, he can thereby overcome the yetzer hara.

Yedid Nefesh: R' Yitzchak Dovid Landau. Kel Mistater: R' Moshe Yehuda Goldberger. The Rebbe bentched over the cup and recited the Sheva Brachos.

Maariv of Motzei Shabbos: R' Moshe Efraim Herskowitz (Williamsburg). After Havdalah, everyone went over to wish a gutte voch. The davening ended at around 7:25.

On Motzei Shabbos, talmidim of Yeshivas Dinov who had spent Shabbos in Kiryas Joel entered the Rebbe's holy home. The Rebbe inquired about their learning and bestowed his blessings upon them.

At around 10:00 the Rebbe shlit"a went to the new "Mitav Grocery" on Route 17-M in Kiryas Joel, where everything is sold at wholesale prices. It was made possible by askanim and philanthropists of Kiryas Joel, among them HaGaon HaRav Henoch Mordechai Meisels shlit"a of Tolchava, the askan R' Mordechai Yehoshua Landau, R' Moshe Goldstein, R' Yisroel Zeller and others. The Rebbe walked around and looked over the entire grocery, and then affixed a mezuzah on the main entrance.
Afterwards a lechayim gathering took place, at which HaGaon HaRav Henoch Mordechai Meisels shlit"a and the askan R' Mordechai Yehoshua Landau spoke. The Rebbe participated with a large sum to help the grocery endure. The Rebbe drank lechayim and delivered words of blessing to the philanthropists and askanim, wishing that it be "tov u'meitav l'kol" (good and best for all).

Afterwards the Rebbe shlit"a traveled to Monsey, arriving at around 11:00 at the home of R' Raphael Perlmutter of Eretz Yisroel, for the Sheva Brachos celebration on the occasion of the marriage of his daughter, mazel tov. A lengthy conversation took place about the expansion of the boundaries of holiness in Monsey and the success of the meat business in Monsey. Afterwards a signing of contracts took place, in which R' Raphael purchased two classrooms in the new talmud torah building in Monsey.
The Rebbe drank lechayim and warmly wished the chassan, the mechutanim, and the entire family well.
At around 12:00 the Rebbe returned to his holy home in Kiryas Joel.

Thursday, Parshas Vayigash, "B'tzeil HaKodesh" with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Beirach Moshe branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur Yoel Weiss.
During the Torah reading the Rebbe went to the hagbah, and after davening delivered a shiur on a sugya in the yeshiva's shiurim, after which a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochur in his private room.

During the morning hours the Rebbe went on his weekly visit to the mehudar slaughterhouse.

In the afternoon at around 5:15 the Rebbe davened Mincha at his holy home.

Reception hours in Kiryas Joel were from about 8:20 until 11:40 at night, at his holy home on Uhel Court.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Vayoel Moshe branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
the bochur Yoel Weiss.
the bochur Binyamin Dovid Meizels.
After davening, the Rebbe delivered the daily Tehillim shiur on chapter 19, verse 8, after which a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room.

In the afternoon the Rebbe shlit"a went up to the Heichal HaYeshiva, Vayoel Moshe branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the yeshiva students in his private room. At around 5:00 the Rebbe davened Mincha in the yeshiva.

In the evening the Rebbe shlit"a officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the mechutanim R' Avrohom Moshe Landau (Williamsburg) and R' Chaim Moshe Bittman, at Kinor David hall.

This morning, before Shacharis, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Yuda Landau, at which the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Eitz Chaim branch, at the third shiur. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
the bochur Simcha Yisroel Weiser.

the bochur Chaim Yuda Hoffman.

After davening, the Rebbe recited the daily Tehillim shiur on chapter 19, verse 8, after which a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Heichal HaBeis Medrash.

During the morning hours, the Rebbe visited the mehudar bakery of our holy kehilla.

In the afternoon, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a went up to the Heichal HaYeshiva, Divrei Yoel branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the talmidim of the yeshiva in his private room. At around 5:00 the Rebbe davened Mincha in the yeshiva.

In the evening, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a traveled to Williamsburg for the weekly receiving of the public.

Before receiving the public, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a went over to the central offices of the holy mosdos in Williamsburg at 76 Rutledge Street for a small meeting with the active administration of the mosdos and the office staff of the mosdos, on matters on the agenda, where various pressing matters were discussed, on which the Rebbe offered counsel and guidance, and he gave his holy blessing to the members of the administration and all the staff and participants.

The Rebbe received the public from around 9:00 until 12:30 after midnight, in his holy home on Hewes St.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 11:30, and then continued receiving the public.
