Monday, Parshas Vaera — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning, before Shacharis, the brissim took place.
For the newborn son of R' Yoel Hershkowitz, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.
For the newborn son of R' Chaim Yoel Fried, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal of the Mesivta, Divrei Yoel branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Yoel, son of R' Levi Apfel. During the Torah reading, the Rebbe was called up for Shlishi, and after davening he delivered the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 19, verse 12. Afterward, a lechayim took place with the bar mitzvah bochur in the Rebbe's private room.

In the afternoon, the Rebbe shlit"a went up to the Heichal of the Yeshiva, Divrei Yoel branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the yeshiva students in his private room. At around 5:20, the Rebbe davened Mincha in the yeshiva.

Admission times for private audiences were from around 8:00 until 12:45 at night, at his holy home on Uhel Court.

The Rebbe shlit"a read the tenaim at the tenaim gathering in his holy home for the following mechutanim:

After the tenaim, the Rebbe davened Maariv, and then continued receiving the public.

During the admission times, another part of the group of 48 talmidim of the Mesivta, Kedushas Yoel branch, entered the Rebbe's holy chamber for an examination on the entire Maseches Kesubos, by heart, which was learned last year in yeshiva. The Rebbe examined the bochurim with great satisfaction for an extended time and bestowed his holy blessings.

Sunday, Parshas Vaera, "B'tzeil HaKodesh" with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the great beis medrash. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim.

After davening, a lechayim took place with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Rebbe's private room.

In the afternoon the Rebbe shlit"a went up to the Heichal HaYeshiva, Beirach Moshe branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the talmidim of the yeshiva in his private room. At around 5:20 the Rebbe davened Mincha in the yeshiva.

In the evening at around 7:45 the Rebbe shlit"a went over to the Beis Rachel auditorium in the Leah Esther building for the gathering "Bivnoseinu Neilech" for the nearly one thousand teachers from all divisions of Beis Rachel, of the Kiryas Joel mosdos. The director of Beis Rachel, R' Eli Shlomo Kohn, opened the gathering, after which the Rebbe shlit"a delivered lengthy holy words of chizuk and guidance to all the staff. The Rebbe brought out the merit and responsibility a teacher holds, and how she must be a role model for the students in how to conduct themselves with good midos and with tznius, and bestowed his holy blessings.

Yechidus hours (zmanei kenisah) at the Rebbe's residence were from around 9:00 until 11:20 at night, at his holy home on Ohel Court.

The Rebbe shlit"a read the tenaim at the tenaim held at his holy home of the mechutanim R' Yedidya Klagsbrun (Monsey) and R' Baruch Azriel Yechiel Levi.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 11:20.

After the yechidus hours, the Rebbe shlit"a connected by phone with the Skulen Rebbe shlit"a, for a speedy recovery, who is in a hospital in Arizona. The Rebbe shlit"a inquired about his welfare and took interest in his state of health. The Skulen Rebbe shlit"a mentioned himself and asked the Rebbe shlit"a to remember him, and the Rebbe shlit"a bestowed upon him his holy blessing for a speedy and complete recovery.

Rich fundraising banquet last night, Motzei Shabbos, in the Divrei Chaim neighborhood in Kiryas Joel, with the participation of the Rav of the town, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a.

The residents of the neighborhood raised the fantastic sum of over 5 million dollars for the renovation of the great and magnificent beis medrash, Beis Shmuel, in the Divrei Chaim neighborhood, and for the mikvah that is being built in the neighborhood.

The event was a guidepost for all new neighborhoods and areas: when one builds Yiddishkeit, with the sole desire of continuing the founding strength of the holy Rebbe, founder of the city, zy"a, one will succeed, and is accompanied and supported by our holy kehilla, which is a strong backbone for all areas to build holiness and purity throughout the entire expanded city great unto Hashem, Kiryas Joel, may it be rebuilt.

Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Shemos, Mevarchim Chodesh Shevat — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

Friday night at around 5:10, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha and Kabbalas Shabbos, led by R' Moshe Chaim Goldstein. The davening concluded at around 6:45.
After davening the congregation went over to wish a gut Shabbos, and the Rebbe went home to his holy residence.

At around 8:35 the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered the Shalosh Seudos-style table in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with the talmidim of the Mesivta, and began, as is his custom, with Shalom Aleichem, with feeling and sweetness.
Eishes Chayil: the Rebbe's grandson, the chassan Rabbi Meir Eliezer ט"ב (may he be well), son of HaGaon Rabbi Baruch Moshe shlit"a, Rav of the beis medrash. Lifting of the cup: HaGaon R' Meir Zwiebel shlit"a, one of the rabbonim of our holy kehilla in Williamsburg.

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "Lo ish devarim anochi" ("I am not a man of words"), and explained it in the manner of derush within the sugya of "darshinan taama dikra" (whether we expound the reason behind a verse).

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a began with the words of the holy Divrei Yoel, that it is the Jewish custom not to learn Torah at night (the night of the exile of Esav's ascendancy): every night when Jews come to the batei medrash to engage in Torah, the "voice, the voice of Yaakov" rises up on high in Heaven. On the night when the kelipah descends upon the world and one is not engaged in Torah, "the hands are the hands of Esav" rises up in Heaven. The voice of Shema Yisroel, with which Jewish children in all generations let themselves be killed al kedushas Hashem, is from the strength of Yaakov Avinu, who brought the power of emunah into Jewish children. In conclusion, the Rebbe shlit"a added, in honor of the days of Shovevim, that the entire decline of that man began because he did not have shmiras einayim, and this leads to damage in matters of emunah.

Maariv of Motzei Shabbos: R' Naftali Hirtzka Kahn. After Havdalah the congregation went over to wish a gutte voch. The davening ended at around 7:40.
At around 10:45 the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a went over to the Dverei Chaim neighborhood, to the home of R' Asher Zev Gutman, one of the leading askanim of our kehilla, where a lavish banquet took place for the benefit of our beis medrash and the mikvah tahara in the Dverei Chaim neighborhood. Speaking were the Rebbe's grandson Rabbi Moshe Meisels shlit"a, R' David Eckstein of the Rabbinical Court, and HaGaon R' Yoel Halberstam shlit"a, Rav of Beis Medrash Beis Shmuel in the Dverei Chaim neighborhood.
The Rebbe shlit"a drank lechayim and related holy stories about the greatness of giving money to build a mikvah, and concluded with abundant blessings for all the donors.
Afterwards the signing of the pledges took place, as all the larger donors signed their pledges together with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a. The event ended at around 12:00.

Friday, Erev Shabbos, Parshas Shemos — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At the early morning hour of around 4:50, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered the Heichal HaTorah in the Beis Medrash HaGadol, where the Rebbe looked in on the "communal learning seder" and walked among the hundreds of lomdim who filled the enormous heichal in the early pre-dawn hours, looking on with great nachas and satisfaction.

At around 5:15 the Rebbe entered the Beis Medrash HaGadol for the "gathering of pleading for mercy and recital of the entire Sefer Tehillim" in honor of the Shovavim days. The baal tefillah was HaRav HaTzaddik R' Berel Glantz shlit"a of Bardiov, Kiryas Joel. It concluded at around 7:10, and the Rebbe went home to his holy residence.

Thursday, Parshas Shemos — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in Heichal HaMesivta, Beirach Moshe branch. Before davening, the Rebbe helped the bar mitzvah bochurim put on tefillin:
the bochur Yoel Rosenberg.
the bochur Moshe Yosef Ehrenfeld.
During the Torah reading the Rebbe went up for hagbah, and after davening he delivered a shiur on a sugya in the yeshiva's shiurim. Afterwards a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room.

In the afternoon, at around 5:30, the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home.

Entry to the Rebbe's room for private audiences ran from around 7:30 until 11:20 at night, in his holy home on Ohel Court.

At around 8:00 the Rebbe went down to the hall in his holy home, where a gathering took place for the dozens of askanim who have undertaken to raise greater funds for the new mikvah tahara in Kiryas Joel. The Rebbe heard a report from the mikvah tahara's administration and reviewed the plans going forward. The Rebbe drank a lechayim and spoke words of Torah and inspiration about the importance of giving and raising money for the purity of Klal Yisroel, and emphasized the necessity of expanding the mikvah tahara for many years to come, as well as the enormous sums that still need to be raised to complete the mikvah in full. The Rebbe encouraged the askanim to raise greater sums and concluded with abundant blessings for all the askanim.

Also entering the Rebbe's room were the talmidim of the yeshiva gedolah, fourth-year shiur, together with the roshei hayeshiva, ahead of their trip to the holy places in Europe. The Rebbe reviewed the details of the trip, bestowed his holy blessings, and distributed shlichus mitzvah money to the bochurim.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal of the Mesivta, Etz Chaim branch, Shiur 3. Before davening, the Rebbe put on tefillin for the bar mitzvah bochurim:

After davening, the Rebbe recited the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 19, verse 11, where the Rebbe spoke with great enjoyment and satisfaction about yesterday's "Yom SheKulo Torah," in which hundreds of men learned together with their children.

Afterwards, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Heichal of the beis medrash. The grandfather, the Gaon, Dayan and Moreh Tzedek shlit"a, also participated. A pleasant conversation ensued, and the Rebbe drank lechayim and bestowed his holy blessings.

In the afternoon, the Rebbe shlit"a went up to the Heichal of the Yeshiva, Kedushas Yoel branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the yeshiva's students in his private room. At around 5:15 the Rebbe davened Mincha in the yeshiva.

In the evening, the Rebbe shlit"a traveled to Williamsburg for the weekly reception hours.
The reception hours were from around 8:20 until 12:15 at night, in his holy home on Hewes St.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 10:30, and then continued receiving the public.

Monday, Parshas Shemos — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Divrei Yoel branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Avrohom Yehoshua Berkowitz.
During the Torah reading the Rebbe went up for Hagbah, and after davening he learned the daily Tehillim shiur on chapter 19, verse 9. Afterwards a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochur in the Rebbe's private room.

At around 12:50 in the morning, the Rebbe shlit"a went over to the Talmud Torah building, the "Binyan Klein," for the ceremony marking the "start of learning Mishnayos" by over 400 third-grade talmidim from all four branches of Mosdos Kiryas Yoel. The children sang several songs and rhymes in honor of the occasion, led by the principals: HaRav R' Yechiel Yitzchak Spitzer shlit"a, HaRav R' Yehoshua Zalman Wertzberger shlit"a, HaRav R' Fishel Kaufman shlit"a, and HaRav R' Yoel Halpert shlit"a.
The Rebbe drank a lechayim and delivered words of blessing, expressing the joy of the children beginning to learn Mishnayos, and concluded with his holy blessing. The Rebbe then distributed shirayim to all the melamdim to give out to the children. The event concluded at around 1:35.

On the way out, the Rebbe shlit"a entered one of the classrooms, where he looked around and listened to the children's learning. On the way down, the Rebbe also pointed out a map of Europe hanging on one of the walls, indicating the cities through which the holy Divrei Yoel zy"a passed during the war, until the miraculous rescue on 21 Kislev.

Afterwards the Rebbe shlit"a went down to the magnificent Ginas Klein hall, accompanied by the mosdos administration, where the Rebbe looked around at the new separate entrance for men and the other for women, and at the new rooms the mosdos administration has added in keeping with the standards of tznius.

From there the Rebbe shlit"a traveled together with HaRav R' Shlomo Zalman Weiss, the devoted administrator of Mosdos Kiryas Yoel, to the new, grand building, the Beis Rachel Binyan Klein, where the Rebbe looked at the construction work on the gigantic building.

In the afternoon the Rebbe shlit"a went up to the Heichal HaYeshiva, Beirach Moshe branch, where he learned with a chavrusa from among the yeshiva's talmidim in his private room. At around 5:15 the Rebbe davened Mincha in the yeshiva.

In the evening the Rebbe shlit"a officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the following mechutanim:

During the reception, a ceremony marking the start of writing a Sefer Torah took place, which is being written by HaRav R' Naftali Hirtzka Kahn. The Rebbe wrote in the first letters, drank a lechayim, and bestowed his holy blessings.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 11:45, and afterwards continued receiving the public.

After Maariv, HaGaon Rabbi Shmuel Binyamin Kraus shlit"a, nasi of Yeshivas Toras Chesed London, entered the Rebbe's holy room to greet him and be blessed. The Rebbe inquired after his welfare and warmly bestowed his holy blessing.
