Monday, Shushan Purim

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered the Shacharis davening in the main beis medrash at around 10:10.
Baal tefillah: HaRav R' Chaim Yaakov Lebovitch. Kohen: HaRav R' Eliezer Dovid Glick. Levi: the baal bris, R' Gedalya Berger. Shlishi: the Rebbe shlit"a. Hagbah: HaRav R' Shmuel Berger (of Williamsburg).

After davening, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Gedalya Berger, at which the Rebbe was sandek. Afterwards a lechayim was held in the hall of the beis medrash with the baal bris and the family.

In the afternoon hours the Rebbe shlit"a traveled to Williamsburg for the tish in honor of Shushan Purim among our holy kehilla.

At around 6:35 the Rebbe arrived at our main beis medrash in Williamsburg, and first davened Mincha in Heichal Meir Zelig. Baal tefillah: R' Aharon Hersh Weber.

At around 7:00 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the main beis medrash for the tish.
The Rebbe washed for the seudah in honor of the day, and there was abundant singing and music, with drums and dancing.
With "Asher Heini" the Rebbe honored HaGaon HaTzaddik R' Moshe Friedman shlit"a, dayan of our kehilla in Boro Park, and "Shoshanas Yaakov" was honored to HaRav HaGaon R' Avrohom Mordechai Brisk shlit"a, dayan of Tashnad Monsey.

During the tish the Rebbe shlit"a said seven Torah thoughts.
First Torah thought: on the verse "U'vevoah lifnei hamelech" ("And when she comes before the king"), explaining that Hashem joins for the Jewish children the good of the future; even if now things are not yet so, in the future they will be, and Hashem already bestows abundant blessings.
Second Torah thought: on the verse "U'vevoah lifnei hamelech" explaining that through the Torah, which is one with the Creator, the Jewish children draw vitality from holiness and are never rejected.
Third Torah thought: on the verse "Vayagidu l'Mordechai es divrei Esther" explaining that the day of Purim has the same quality as the blowing of the shofar, as the hearts of the Jewish children are warmed toward Hashem.
The Rebbe began the melody "Ana Avda d'Kudsha Brich Hu" and stood up and danced with fiery enthusiasm.
Fourth Torah thought: on the verse "Ki Mordechai HaYehudi" explaining that in order to be able to turn woe into good, one must join the Master of the World, and this is what Mordechai HaTzaddik effected.
Fifth Torah thought: on the verse "Ki Mordechai HaYehudi" explaining that Haman the wicked wanted first to cause the Jewish children to abandon their faith and then to kill them; Mordechai HaTzaddik saved them and gave them this world and the next.
Sixth Torah thought: on the verse "Doresh tov l'amo" explaining that through tzedakah one purifies the air so that one can then daven and the tefillos can ascend. In connection with this, all those named Yaakov were honored to come up to the tish to collect money from the public for the Rebbe's fund, Avnei Chesed.
Seventh Torah thought: on the verse "Doresh tov l'amo" explaining that Matanos L'evyonim was instituted in memory of the miracle even though we were not worthy of it at the time, and in the merit of Matanos L'evyonim Hashem helps even when we are not worthy. The Rebbe concluded with abundant blessings.

Afterwards HaRav R' Nachman Levi shared words of badchanus.
The Rebbe shlit"a recited the blessing over the cup. The tish concluded at around 10:45.

A few minutes later the Rebbe davened Maariv. Baal tefillah: the Motzei Shabbos davener HaRav R' Shlomo Zalman Stein.
After Maariv the gabbai of the "Legion of the King" group of our holy yeshivos in Williamsburg came over; the Rebbe gave them the blessed coins and wished them his holy blessing.

At around 11:05 the Rebbe shlit"a traveled home to his holy residence in Kiryas Joel.

Motzei Shabbos, Leil Purim — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At approximately 9:35 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Beis Medrash HaGadol amid a large crowd, in regal splendor, wrapped in a borrowed tallis, and went up to the bimah. The Megillah was spread out like a letter, as is customary. The Rebbe recited the Leshem Yichud, made the brachos with holy fire, and read the Megillah with great arousal and fiery enthusiasm. The Rebbe finished the Megillah at 10:40.

After concluding Maariv, the Rebbe made Havdalah, and on the way out wished everyone a good week and a good Purim. The davening ended at 10:55, and the Rebbe went home to his holy residence.

At approximately 12:35 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the pure tish in the Heichal HaShulchanos. The Rebbe danced in place and washed for the seudah. Before the fish, Zemiros of Melaveh Malka were sung.
During the seudah, several joyous melodies were sung, and there was joyous dancing in honor of Purim.
With "Asher Heniya," the Rebbe honored R' Nesanel Menachem Deutsch shlit"a, and "Shoshanas Yaakov" was honored to R' Dovid Moshe Rosenbaum shlit"a, rav of Beis Medrash Tefilla L'Dovid Kretchnif in Kiryas Joel.

The Rebbe shlit"a said a Torah thought, first explained in a witty manner on a Torah thought brought in the Chida which he heard from a Purim rav, and then continued in the manner of a derush on the sugya of whether by a Ben Noach one follows the majority, and on the sugya of "yesh em lamikra."

The singing continued in honor of the day, and the Purim Rosh Av Beis Din, R' Naftali Moshe Weiss shlit"a, said words of humor and sang special rhymes in honor of the bochurim of the "Legion of the King" group who accepted good commitments regarding technology. Afterwards the Rebbe distributed holy coins to the gabbaim of all the yeshivos to give out to the bochurim.

Birkas Hamazon: HaRav HaChassid R' Pinchas Elimelech Weiss. The seudah ended at about 2:30.

Sunday, Yom HaPurim

Before Shacharis, the following brissin took place:
For the son born to R' Shmuel Yoel Schonbrun, where the Rebbe was sandek.
For the son born to R' Moshe Leib Epstein, where the Rebbe was sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe shlit"a entered the Beis Medrash HaGadol for Shacharis at approximately 10:45. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
the bochur Avrohom Yoshe Farkash.
the bochur Yoel Schlesinger.
the bochur Yoshe Leib Levy.

Baal Tefillah: the Purim Rosh Av Beis Din, R' Naftali Moshe Weiss shlit"a. Hotzaah and Hachnasah: HaGaon R' Avrohom Yaakov Yakov shlit"a. Kohen: R' Naftali Hirtzka Kohn. Levi: R' Yoshe Wertzberger. Shlishi: the Rebbe shlit"a. Hagbah: R' Avrohom Dovid Wagschal shlit"a (Monsey). Gelilah: R' Yoshe Leib Levy (Linden).

After Krias HaTorah, the Rebbe shlit"a went into his private room and put on Rabbeinu Tam tefillin. After a few minutes he entered the beis medrash again and went up to the bimah. He recited the Leshem Yichud and fulfilled the minhag of Machatzis HaShekel for himself and for the Rebbetzin tichye. Then, at about 12:05, he recited the Leshem Yichud and the brachos of Krias HaMegillah and read with enthusiasm and holy fire. The davening ended at about 1:15.

After davening, the bar mitzvah bochurim went into the Rebbe's private room, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy brachos upon them and their parents.

On his way out of the beis medrash, the Rebbe shlit"a gave matanos l'evyonim to R' Berel Falkowitz, director of Tomchei Shabbos.

In his holy residence, the Rebbe shlit"a fulfilled the mitzvos of the day, mishloach manos and matanos l'evyonim, and as is customary tasted from hamantashen, kindel, and nant, and washed for the first seudah.

In the afternoon from 4:30, the Rebbe shlit"a began receiving the public to bless and be blessed on Purim, as long lines of chassidim, old and young, and groups of bochurim, wound along. The Rebbe shlit"a wished everyone well and blessed them with holy blessings.

At about 6:45 the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy residence. Baal Tefillah: R' Yoel Weinberger.
At about 7:20 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Seudas Mishteh HaYayin in the Beis Medrash HaGadol. The Rebbe washed for the seudah in honor of the day. After the fish, the Rebbe recited the Leshem Yichud for the mitzvah of "livsumei b'Puria," drank the first cup of wine and said "L'chaim." After the soup and after the meat, the Rebbe again recited the Leshem Yichud, drank another cup and said "L'chaim."

With the soup, kreplach were served, and with the meat a helzel was brought in, as is customary.

The Rebbe shlit"a sang Adon Olam and Kevodo Maleh Olam with outpouring of the soul and intense weeping. Then he began the lively Kevodo Maleh Olam, stood up to dance, and continued with the niggun "Shebishfileinu Zachar Lanu" while encouraging the entire crowd.

During the seudah, the musicians sang several niggunim of deveikus and arousal, and niggunim of joy and gladness, while the Rebbe lifted the crowd and stood up to dance several times in fiery dances.

During the tish the Rebbe shlit"a delivered 6 divrei Torah.
First Torah: on the verse "And they told Mordechai the words of Esther", explaining that by seeing and hearing good things, one arouses the eye and ear above to bestow upon Jewish children. After the Torah the Rebbe sang the zemer "Tzamah Nafshi L'Elokim L'El Chai."
Second Torah: on "Shoshanas Yaakov tzahala v'sameicha", explaining that by Jews clinging to Hashem they have a vitality of kedushah and are never cast away. The singing continued and the Rebbe stood up to dance.
Third Torah: on the verse "And when she came before the king, he said with the book", explaining that with regard to Hashem, matters of the heart count as deeds; even having a thought to harm Jews brings a punishment. He mentioned the wicked who wish to disturb the holy chinuch of Torah and yiras Shamayim, began the niggun "V'chol Karnei Resha'im Agade'a," and then sang the niggun of the holy Kedushas Levi zy"a, "Let us tell the virtues of Jewish children," and stood up to dance.
Fourth Torah: on the verse "And when she came before the king", explaining that even if a harsh decree is sometimes spoken against Jewish children, through Shema Yisroel and emunah in the Creator it does not descend upon the world.

The Rebbe shlit"a then lit a cigar as is customary, sang the Ropshitz Tanya, then "Galus, Galus" with awesome weeping, and began "Yibaneh HaMikdash," and gave the cigar to R' Shlomo Klagsbrun.

Fifth Dvar Torah: The Rebbe told a story about the Maharid of Belz zy"a, who taught R' Itzikel of Pshevorsk zy"a to go collect money even after one has already given. He continued that the Jews distributed large sums today, and now they will give again for the Kupas Avnei Chesed. He honored everyone named Yitzchak to go up to the tish to collect money, and then stood up to dance with holy fire.

Sixth Torah: on the verse "Divrei shalom v'emes", explaining that we pray that all the shefa that descends on Purim should have continuation and endure forever and ever. He concluded with abundant brachos for the entire crowd.

Cabbage was brought in, and a Har Sinai kugel was brought by R' Binyon Klein. Afterwards the Purim Rosh Av Beis Din, R' Naftali Moshe Weiss shlit"a, went up on the tish and sang the Kalover "Sal a Kakash" niggun, and Ani Maamin.
With "Asher Heniya," the Rebbe honored HaGaon R' Chaim Yosef Wertzberger shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Hunyad; "Shoshanas Yaakov": HaGaon R' Meir Eliezer Friedman shlit"a; Birkas Hamazon: the Chadvan HaGaon, rav of Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek shlit"a.

After a few minutes the Rebbe entered the beis medrash for Maariv. Baal Tefillah: R' Hershel Kohn shlit"a. "Baruch Hashem L'olam" was not recited. The davening ended at about 12:55.

Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Vayikra, Shabbos Zachor — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

On Erev Shabbos afternoon, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a placed the shtreimel on the chassan Hershel, son of Yoel Zaldan.

On Friday night at around 7:40, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and went to the amud for Mincha and Kabbalas Shabbos. R' Yoel Eckstein led the davening; at Lecha Dodi the melodies were changed as customary.
The davening concluded at around 9:15; the congregation went to wish a gut Shabbos, and the Rebbe went into his private room.

At around 9:45, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Shabbos seudah in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with the talmidim of Shiur Gimmel of the yeshivos ketanos in Kiryas Joel, and began, as is his holy custom, Shalom Aleichem with feeling and sweetness.
Eishes Chayil: the grandson of the Rebbe's brother-in-law, the chassan Yisroel Dushinsky, son of the brother-in-law of HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of Beis Medrash Ohel Piga shlit"a. Raising of the cup: HaGaon Rabbi Baruch Shlomo Weinberger shlit"a, head administrator of the mosdos of Kiryas Joel.

After the fish, the Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "And all the officers of the provinces elevated the Jews," and explained in words of guidance that one must conduct oneself on an elevated level all year round, especially on Purim, and certainly not do anything one would later be ashamed of, and that one should celebrate the Yom Tov with joy and uplifted spirit, as befits dear, refined chassidic bochurim.

During the zemiros, the Rebbe shlit"a honored the administrators of the yeshivos ketanos. Kol Mekadesh: HaGaon Rabbi Yoel Offenheim shlit"a, principal of Yeshiva Ketana Derech HaTorah outside the city. Menucha V'Simcha: HaGaon Rabbi Chaim Leib Zilberstein shlit"a, principal of the Yitav Panim branch.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "And Hashem called to Moshe," and expounded in the manner of derush on the topic of bal t'acheir.

Stories and anecdotes: This week the Rebbe shlit"a related about the efforts of the Sighet dayan, HaRav HaKadosh R' Moshe Aryeh Freund z"l, in the city of Sighet on behalf of our holy Rebbes zy"a, in honor of the yahrzeit on Wednesday, 17 Adar.

Kah Ribon Olam: HaGaon Rabbi Shlomo Elimelech Stein shlit"a, principal of the Divrei Chaim branch. The new chassanim went up to take fruit. Ki Bayom Hashvi'i: HaGaon Rabbi Yoel Hersh Wider shlit"a, principal of the Zera Kodesh branch. The seudah concluded at around 12:30.

On Shabbos morning, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash at around 9:40. Pesukei D'Zimra: R' Lipa Fried. The Rebbe went to the amud for Shacharis, beginning with Yotzer.

Aliyos. Kohen: the chassan, the bochur Yoel Katz, who was bentched. Levi: R' Shalom Yosef Levinger. Shlishi: the distinguished Rabbi Shlomo Leib Weinberger. Revi'i: the chassan, the bochur Yaakov Yoel Goldenberg, who was bentched. Chamishi: the chassan, the bochur Yoel Zaldan, who was bentched. The Rebbe entered the beis medrash for Mincha and Shalosh Seudos at around 7:10. Mincha: R' Yudel Schwartz. Hotza'ah and Hachnasa: R' Yoel Zaldan. Kohen: R' Avrohom Yoshe Glantz. Levi: HaGaon Rabbi Yosef Dovid Levy shlit"a. Shlishi: R' Yoel Yisroel Grunbaum (of Williamsburg). Hagbah: the Rebbe shlit"a. Gelilah: R' Yaakov Pesach Hopfer (of Boro Park).

At Shalosh Seudos, the Rebbe honored the following with the zemiros. Odeh: R' Noach Gefen. Shir HaMaalos: R' Moshe Goldstein.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse in the Zachor reading, "Remember what Amalek did to you," and explained that all nations are subdued by subduing their heavenly minister, but the minister of Amalek is the Satan himself, and he can only be overcome with the power of Shabbos, which helps one be able to do teshuva completely. Since Shabbos falls on Erev Purim, it is a good preparation for Purim.
Yedid Nefesh: R' Yoel Yisroel Grunbaum. Kel Mistater: R' Yaakov Pesach Hopfer. Shoshanas Yaakov: Rabbi Naftali Moshe Weiss shlit"a, Av Beis Din. The Rebbe bentched on the cup and recited Sheva Brachos.

Days of Light and Joy, Purim – Shushan Purim, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

Wednesday, Parshas Vayikra — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the morning, before Shacharis, the following brissen took place:
For the newborn son of R' Yaakov Yosef Felberbaum, where the Rebbe was sandek and mohel.
For the newborn son of R' Zalman Grossberg, where the Rebbe was sandek.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal of the Mesivta, Yoel Moshe branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put on tefillin with the bar mitzvah bochurim:
The bochur Binyamin Zev Schwartz.
The bochur Yaakov Klepner.

After davening, the Rebbe recited the daily Tehillim shiur on chapter 19, verse 12. Afterwards a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room. Also entering the Rebbe's private room were the gabbaim of Kupas Rabbeinu Avnei Chesed from all branches of the Mesivta, to receive the Rebbe's holy blessing ahead of Yom Tov Purim. The Rebbe signed the shlichus letters, extended of his holy blessings, and distributed shliach mitzvah money to the gabbaim.

During the morning hours, the Rebbe went on his weekly visit to the mehudar bakery of our holy kehilla.

In the afternoon at about 5:45, the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home.
After Mincha, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Binyamin Yosef Zaldan in the home of his father, HaGaon R' Avrohom Hersh Zaldan shlit"a, where the Rebbe was sandek and mohel.

In the evening, the Rebbe shlit"a officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppahs of the following mechutanim:
R' Aryeh Berish Hershkowitz – R' Moshe Yaakov Yehuda Wertzberger, at Kinor David hall.
R' Mordechai Hersh Heiman (Monsey) – R' Shaul Yechezkel Pramowitz, at Beis Rachel Paradise hall.
R' Yirmiyahu Shmuel Weiss – R' Shlomo Ephraim Zwebel, at Ginas Klein hall.

The reception hours were from about 8:15 until 11:25 at night, in the Rebbe's holy home on Ohel Court.

The Rebbe shlit"a read the tenaim in the tenaim hall in his holy home for the mechutanim R' Simcha Halpert (Wmsb"g) – R' Naftali Hirtzka Brach.

During the reception hours, the bochurim askanim of the "Legion of the King" group, in the area of technology, entered. The Rebbe extended of his holy blessing and blessed the coins that will be distributed to the hundreds of bochurim who are part of the group.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at about 11:25.
