Sunday, Parshas Acharei (1) - Bedikas Chametz - 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Beis Medrash HaGadol. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim.

After davening, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Rebbe's private room.

In the afternoon at around 7:50 the Rebbe davened Mincha in the Beis Medrash HaGadol; the baal tefillah was R' Yudel Bernath Schwartz.
After Mincha, the uplifting gathering of "Sheivas Mayim Shelanu" (the drawing of our water) took place in the presence of thousands of anash, and many songs of joy and inspiration were sung.

The Rebbe shlit"a delivered fiery words of Torah, with lengthy words of guidance and preparation for Yom Tov Pesach, and spoke very powerful words of emunah: that through being joyful now over the complete Redemption that is soon to come, in that merit we will be privileged to see it speedily. He concluded with abundant blessings.

The singing of inspiring melodies continued and Vihi Noam was sung. The Rebbe stood up with holy fervor, recited the Lishem Yichud for the mitzvah, drew our water from the spigot on the bimah of honor and poured it into several pitchers, counting the number of the letters aleph, beis, gimmel, etc. Afterward he honored the Rabbonim, the Geonim, the sons and sons-in-law of the Rebbe shlit"a, and the rabbonim and dayanim of Kiryas Joel to draw water, and he went out in joy of mitzvah and holiness into fiery dancing for a lengthy time. It concluded at around 8:55.

Immediately after the gathering, the Rebbe davened Maariv in the heichal of the Beis Medrash. The baal tefillah was HaRav HaChassid R' Baruch Mordechai Markowitz.

After Maariv, the Rebbe went home to his holy residence. As is customary, the Rebbe laid out the 10 pieces of chametz around the table, recited the blessing on the removal of chametz with fervor, gathered the pieces, and then, with physical exertion, continued to search the entire house for chametz. At the conclusion, the Rebbe recited Kol Chamira with outpouring of the soul.

Late in the evening, the Rebbe arranged and sent out the final portion of the Kimcha D'Pischa tzedakah funds for Yom Tov.

Shabbos Kodesh Parshas Tazria, Shabbos HaGadol — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

On Friday night at around 8:15 the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha. Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Eliezer Heilbrunn.

Davening ended at around 9:50. The tzibur went over to wish a gut Shabbos, and the Rebbe went home to his holy residence.

At around 12:10 the Rebbe entered the Shabbos seudah in the Heichal HaShulchanos, and began, as is his holy custom, Shalom Aleichem with emotion and sweetness.
For Eshes Chayil the Rebbe honored his grandson the bochur Elimelech Ashkenazi, son of HaGaon R' Chaim Hersh shlit"a, Rav of the beis medrash Rav Tov. Hagbaas HaKos: the Rebbe's son-in-law, the HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of the beis medrash Beirach Moshe, shlit"a.

The Rebbe shlit"a honored the following with the zemiros. Kol Mekadesh: his grandson Rabbi Meir Yuda Ashkenazi shlit"a, son-in-law of the Rebbe's son-in-law, the HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of the beis medrash Avnei Tzedek shlit"a. Menucha V'Simcha: the Rebbe's grandson Rabbi Nachman Kahana shlit"a, son-in-law of the Rebbe's son-in-law, the HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of the beis medrash Beirach Moshe shlit"a.

The Rebbe shlit"a said a Torah thought explaining why this Shabbos is called Shabbos HaGadol: that through the fact that the Jews accepted Shabbos both in deed and in speech, the evil words of the Egyptians were counted toward completing the time of the exodus.

Kah Echsof: the Rebbe's grandson Rabbi Moshe Meizlish shlit"a, son-in-law of the Rebbe's son-in-law, the HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of the beis medrash Avnei Tzedek shlit"a. Birkas Hamazon: the Rebbe's son-in-law, the HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of the beis medrash Beirach Moshe shlit"a.

Stories and anecdotes: this week the Rebbe shlit"a related a story about the holy R' Asher'l of Ropshitz zy"a, whose yahrzeit falls on Monday, Erev Pesach.

Kah Ribon Olam: the Rebbe's grandson Rabbi Baruch Rokeach shlit"a, son-in-law of the Rebbe's son-in-law, the HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of the beis medrash Ohel Feiga shlit"a. The new chassanim went over to take fruits, as did, for "Bayom HaShevii": R' Pinchas Moshe Landau (Boro Park). The seudah ended at around 2:00.

Shabbos Kodesh Day

On Shabbos morning the Rebbe entered the beis medrash at around 9:40. Pesukei D'Zimra: R' Shalom Yitzchak Scher (Antwerp). The Rebbe recited Vechros pasuk by pasuk, and approached the amud for Shacharis, Yotzer.

Hotzaah V'Hachnasah: R' Lipa Epstein (Montreal). Pesukei Shema Yisroel: Rabbi Mendel Gold shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Lublin.

Aliyos. Kohen: R' Efraim Goldman - the Rebbe called him to the Torah for the birth of his daughter, mazel tov. Levi: R' Shlomo Moskowitz. Shlishi: R' Eli Neustadt. Revii: R' Yehoshua Shmuel Weider. Chamishi: R' Lipa Neustadt. Shishi: the Rebbe shlit"a.

After the aliyah, the Rebbe called the following to the Torah for the birth of a daughter:

After davening a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Shimshon Zaldan, at which the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel. Davening ended at around 12:55.

The Rebbe conducted the afternoon tish in the building of Mivtzar HaKollelim together with his children and grandchildren. At Kiddush, nuts, candy, and "Haman Tashen" were brought in, as is customary on Shabbos HaGadol.
At the seudah, R' Shlomo Hersh Eckstein brought in a plate of gefilte helzel in honor of the Kiddush of a grandchild.
For Birkas Hamazon the Rebbe honored HaGaon Rabbi Shlomo Rubin shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Ciechanów, Kiryas Joel.

Raava D'Raavin

For Mincha and Shalosh Seudos the Rebbe entered for Mincha at around 8:15. Mincha: R' Yechezkel Brach. Hotzaah V'Hachnasah: HaGaon R' Avigdor Herskowitz shlit"a. Kohen: R' Moshe Chaim Friedman. Levi: Rabbi Elazar Rubinfeld shlit"a. Shlishi: HaGaon HaTzaddik R' Moshe Teitelbaum shlit"a, Dayan and Moreh Tzedek of the beis medrash Beis Shmuel Binyamin. Hagbah: the Rebbe shlit"a. Gelilah: R' Yechezkel Weingarten.

After Mincha the Rebbe went over to the building of Mivtzar HaKollelim, where he conducted Shalosh Seudos.
The Rebbe shlit"a honored the following with the zemiros. Odeh: R' Noach Gefen. Shir HaMaalos: R' Moshe Goldstein.

The Rebbe shlit"a said a Torah thought explaining why this Shabbos is called Shabbos HaGadol, explaining that the Jews needed to separate from aveiros, both from the aveira itself and from the time of the aveira. Through Shabbos Kodesh, whose avoda is to perform mitzvos with joy, both were atoned for, and they were able to approach the offering of the Korban Pesach.
Yedid Nefesh: R' Lipa Friedman (Williamsburg). Kel Mistater: Rabbi Hershel Teller shlit"a (Williamsburg). The Rebbe recited the blessing over the cup.

Maariv on Motzei Shabbos: R' Baruch Mordechai Markowitz. After Havdalah the tzibur went over to wish a gutte voch. Davening ended at around 10:35.

Thursday, Parshas Tahara — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the morning, before Shacharis, the following brissen took place:
A son born to R' Meir Hersh Feierstein, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.
A son born to R' Eli Goldberger, where the Rebbe served as sandek.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Beis Medrash HaGadol. Before davening, the Rebbe put on tefillin for the bar mitzvah bochurim.
The bochur Yoel Klein.
The bochur Yitzchak Eizik HaLevi Schwartz.
The bochur Yosef Zev Moskowitz.
During the Torah reading, the Rebbe went up for Hagbah.

After davening, a bris took place for a son born to HaGaon Rabbi Yehosef Schwartz shlit"a, where the Rebbe served as sandek.
Afterwards, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim and the baal bris in the Rebbe's private room.

Afterwards, the Rebbe went over to the home of R' Binyamin Klein, where a bris took place for a son born to his son-in-law R' Meir Moshe Gandel, where the Rebbe served as sandek.

In the afternoon hours, the Rebbe went down to the lower floor of his holy residence, where the Rebbe affixed the mezuzos in the newly built extension of the large hall, which was just completed to accommodate the hundreds of chasanim who will take part in the uplifted Seder night b'tzeil hakodesh.
The Rebbe recited the blessing and affixed the mezuzah on the main entrance, and then placed the mezuzos on all the other doorways. Afterwards, the Rebbe looked over the newly built Pesach kitchen, where the seudos will be prepared, and gave various instructions in preparation for the upcoming Yom Tov of Pesach.

Around 8:20 the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy residence.

Entry for kvitlach was from around 9:00 until 12:00 at night in his holy residence, at the Ohel.

The Rebbe davened Maariv around 12:00.

Wednesday, Parshas Tazria-Metzora — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning, before Shacharis, a bris took place for a newborn son of R' Yaakov Schonbrun, at which the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Beis Medrash HaGadol. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
The son of Rabbi R' Yoel Hersh Kahn shlit"a, a moreh tzedek in our Williamsburg kehilla.
The bochur Naftali Hirtzka Glanz.
The bochur Yosef Leib Wertzberger.
After davening, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Rebbe's private room.

During the morning hours, the Rebbe went on his weekly visit to the mehudar slaughterhouse.

In the afternoon at around 8:00, the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home.

The reception in Williamsburg lasted from around 9:20 until 12:50 at night, in his holy home on Ohel (Keap) Street.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 12:50.

Tuesday, Parshas Tazria-Metzora — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning, before Shacharis, a bris took place for a newborn son of R' Mordechai Yona Weider (Williamsburg), at which the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Beis Medrash HaGadol. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
The bochur Yoel Reisman.
The bochur Yitzchak Menachem Berger.
The bochur Shalom Shachna Lef.
After davening, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Rebbe's private room.

After Shacharis, the Rebbe went to the home of his relative, HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi, Rav of the Yismach Moshe beis medrash shlit"a, for the upsherin of his grandson, the child Meir, son of his son-in-law Rabbi Chaim Yaakov Rokeach shlit"a. The Rebbe cut off a few locks of hair, put on the yarmulke and tzitzis, and bestowed his holy blessing. He then washed for a breakfast meal, during which a pleasant conversation unfolded, and the Rebbe recited a blessing over the cup.

During the afternoon hours, the Rebbe arranged the donations from the prominent members of the community whom the Rebbe had assessed, in the amount of nearly a million dollars, for the large Kimcha D'Pischa distribution, which was sent to all our community members residing in Eretz Yisroel and was distributed there Wednesday evening.
In the afternoon, at around 4:40, the Rebbe arrived at the Tanaim Hall in his holy home for the private Sheva Brachos in the holy courts, arranged by the Rebbe shlit"a, to which the counselors of the Mifal Beis Naaman of Kiryas Joel were specially invited. The Rebbe washed for the seudah, and during the seudah several counselors rose and posed various questions regarding hashkafa and minhag, to which the Rebbe responded and spoke at length with good reason and insight. Afterwards, the Rebbe delivered words of Torah in a derush on the subject of the joy of chassan and kallah, and emphasized the responsibility resting upon the counselors to guide in the path handed down to us, and not to be drawn after foreign ways with which the wise are not pleased. He concluded with abundant blessings.
The Rebbe then rose to dance, honored his grandson the chassan, Rabbi Chaim Yechezkel Shraga Teitelbaum shlit"a, with Birchas Hamazon, and the Rebbe recited the Sheva Brachos. It concluded at around 6:50.

Afterwards, the Rebbe davened Mincha in the beis medrash in his holy home on Ohel (Keap) Street.

After Mincha, the Rebbe traveled to the weekly reception hours in Williamsburg.
The reception in Williamsburg lasted from around 8:30 until 12:10 at night, in his holy home on Hewes Street.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 9:50 and then continued receiving the public.
A short meeting was also held with the administration of Toras Shaashuim regarding the plans for the upcoming final masechta and the Siyum HaShas, which is planned for the month of Sivan 5785, IY"H.

Monday, Parshas Tahara — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the morning, before Shacharis, a bris was held for the newborn son of R' Aharon Berger, at which the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Talmud Torah building 'Wieder Palatchek' together with the students of grades 6, 7 and 8 of the branch of HaRav R' Yaakov Shalom Weiss shlit"a. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
The bochur Yoel Weiss.
The bochur Nosson Brauner.
The Rebbe lit 5 candles and led the davening as shliach tzibbur on the occasion of the yahrzeit of his grandmother, the Rebbetzin Chana a"h, wife of the Chaver HaGaon HaKadosh, the Kedushas Yom Tov zy"a, and during the Torah reading the Rebbe went up for Hagbah.

After davening, a lechayim gathering was held in the main hall of the beis medrash. Several niggunim and rhymes were sung in honor of the occasion. The Rebbe drank a lechayim, blessed all the children, and distributed shirayim to the grandchildren. He delivered words of Torah and guidance in honor of Yom Tov Pesach, which is approaching, and concluded with his holy blessing.

In the afternoon, at around 8:15, the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy residence. The Rebbe lit candles and led the davening as shliach tzibbur on the occasion of the yahrzeit of his grandmother a"h.

The kabbalas kahal (reception) in the Rebbe's holy residence on Ohel Court was from around 9:00 until 10:45 at night.

The Rebbe shlit"a read the tenaim in the tenaim hall of his holy residence for the mechutanim R' Yoel Bleich and R' Moshe Dovid Weingarten.

After the reception, at around 11:10, the Rebbe shlit"a arrived at Beis Medrash Beis Shmuel in the Divrei Chaim neighborhood for the Sheva Brachos simcha in our holy courts, arranged by the mispallelim of the beis medrash in honor of the Rebbe shlit"a and the HaGaon, the rav of the beis medrash shlit"a, together with a siyum on Maseches Sotah as part of the Yesodei HaTorah chaburah of the beis medrash. Upon arrival, the Rebbe danced on the spot, and R' Aryeh Herskovitz, gabbai of our beis medrash in the Zera Kodesh neighborhood, spoke.
The Rebbe drank a lechayim and blessed the chosson, the mechutanim, the grandfathers, and the entire public of the neighborhood's residents. He delivered words of Torah on the topic of the simcha of chosson and kallah, spoke about the expansion of the borders of holiness, as the neighborhood is part of the holy city of Kiryas Joel, and spoke in praise of the neighborhood's residents and of the HaGaon, the rav of the beis medrash shlit"a, and concluded with his holy blessing.
Afterward, R' Hershel Friedman performed with words of badchanus, and the Rebbe stood up and danced for an extended time.
For Birkas Hamazon, the Rebbe honored the mechutan, the HaGaon, the rav of the beis medrash shlit"a, and the Sheva Brachos were recited by his brother-in-law, the HaGaon, the Av Beis Din of the holy community shlit"a. The simcha ended at around 12:10.
Afterward, the Rebbe davened Maariv in the main hall of the beis medrash, and after Maariv recited Kiddush Levana in the beis medrash courtyard.
