Sunday, Parshas Matos-Masei — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe entered the beis medrash for Shacharis at around 8:55.

Between Mincha and Maariv the Rebbe was engaged in his learning. Before learning, the Rebbe lit a neshama candle in honor of the yahrzeit of the mother of the Rebbetzin, the righteous Rebbetzin Fesil Leah, daughter of the HaGaon HaKadosh Rabbi Aharon a"h, wife of the Chaver of Maran the holy Rebbe, the Beirach Moshe zy"a.
The Rebbe lit 5 candles and approached the amud for Maariv. After Maariv, a pleasant conversation developed, and the Rebbe related memories and stories about the righteous Rebbetzin a"h.

Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Pinchas, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, in the resort town of Bethlehem, New Hampshire

This week, too, the Rebbe merited to spend Shabbos with the talmidim of the yeshiva, the Kedushas Yoel branch, and some of the talmidim of the V'Yoel Moshe branch.

On Erev Shabbos before the mikvah, the Rebbe paid a condolence call to R' Fishel Farkash, gabbai of the beis medrash, who was sitting shiva for his sister a"h in the women's section of the beis medrash.
After the mikvah, the Rebbe gave out the bread for the eruvei chatzeiros from the eruv at the beis medrash.

Afterwards, the following talmidim of the yeshiva presented answers to the question that the Rebbe had left over in the yeshiva:

On Friday night at around 8:40, the Rebbe entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and went to the amud for Mincha and Kabbalas Shabbos. HaGaon R' Kalman Halberstam shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Sanz in Kiryas Joel and director of the Kedushas Yoel branch, led the davening. The davening ended at around 10:10. The congregation went over to wish a good Shabbos and shake hands, and the Rebbe went into his private room.

At around 10:30 the Rebbe entered the holy tish in the hall of the beis medrash together with the talmidim of the yeshiva and many guests from among the Rebbe's chassidim, and began, as is his custom, with Shalom Aleichem, with emotion and sweetness.

The Rebbe shlit"a said a Torah thought on the verse "Pinchas son of Elazar son of Aharon the Kohen turned back My wrath from the children of Israel," and explained that when one guards his eyes, the holy Torah illuminates the eyes and saves a person from the yetzer hara, whereas if one does not guard his eyes, that remedy is not available.

Late in the afternoon, the Rebbe took part by telephone in a meeting with the committee that the Rebbe appointed to find a solution to the housing crisis in Kiryas Joel. The Rebbe heard a report on the developments of the last 3 days, bringing apartment prices down to under $300 per square foot. He had great satisfaction hearing about the negotiations with the developers who have already signed to bring their projects down to this price. The Rebbe gave them instructions on how to proceed, and expressed his hope that the existing developers who are already in the middle of their construction projects will also meet this price and fully cooperate for the benefit of the public. The Rebbe bestowed his holy blessing upon those who work faithfully on behalf of the community's needs.

After davening, a lechayim gathering was held in the main hall of the beis medrash in honor of the yahrzeit. The Rebbe drank lechayim and related holy stories about the one whose yahrzeit it was for an extended time.
Afterward, the Rebbe walked home to his holy residence, and on the way a conversation developed about various names of coins throughout the generations.

Monday, Parshas Pinchas — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning before Shacharis, a bris was held for the newborn son of R' Yaakov Glantz, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Divrei Yoel branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Yonah Weiss.

During the Torah reading, the Rebbe went up for Hagbah. After davening, the Rebbe delivered a shiur on a sugya in the yeshiva's shiurim in Maseches Bava Metzia, perek HaMafkid, daf 36b, in the sugya of "a shomer who handed over to a shomer," and, as is customary, left a question open in the sugya before leaving for vacation. Afterwards a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochur in the Rebbe's private room. Then the Rebbe was escorted out with song and music, with "Ki Malachav," on the occasion of his departure for vacation.

At about 1:20 the Rebbe left his holy residence, and the assembled crowd came to bid farewell to the Rebbe shlit"a. On the way out, the Rebbe stopped at the Tolchava beis medrash, where the Rebbe paid a consolation visit to HaGaon Rabbi Henich Mordechai Meisels shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Tolchava, who was sitting shiva for his brother, HaRav HaTzaddik Rabbi Michael Shlomo Dov Meisels z"l, rav of Kehal Chevra Shas in London.

From there the Rebbe traveled to Stewart Airport, where the Rebbe's private plane took off at about 2:30 for the vacation town in New Hampshire, where the Rebbe will spend the coming four weeks of rest.
At about 3:20 the plane landed at Mount Washington Regional Airport in Whitefield, New Hampshire,
where R' Fishel Farkash, gabbai of the beis medrash, together with several other askanim, waited and greeted the Rebbe. The Rebbe then immediately traveled a drive of under twenty minutes to his holy residence in Bethlehem, New Hampshire.

The Rebbe came in to Mincha in the beis medrash at about 9:00. The baal tefillah was the Chaver Beis Din, HaGaon, the rav of the Yismach Moshe beis medrash shlit"a. Between Mincha and Maariv the Rebbe was engaged in his learning. At about 9:40 Maariv was davened. After Maariv the crowd came over to greet the Rebbe.

Sunday, Parshas Pinchas — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in the Heichal of the Mesivta, Kedushas Yoel branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim.
The bochur Yechiel Yair Neiman.
The bochur Chaim Zvi son of Aharon Yosef Weiss.
The bochur Yoshe Ganz.
The bochur Menachem Mendel Samet.
The bochur Yoel son of Shmuel Zanvil Palachek.
After davening, the Rebbe recited the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 22, verse 1. Afterwards a lechayim took place with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Heichal of the beis medrash on the occasion of the holy hilula of the Ohr HaChaim HaKadosh zy"a. The Rebbe drank a lechayim and related holy stories for an extended time.

During the morning hours, a lengthy gathering took place in his holy home with the committee that the Rebbe appointed to find solutions for the costly housing problems in K"J. The gathering took place after intense deliberations and meetings in which the devoted committee members consulted over numerous options for various approaches to bring down apartment prices in Kiryas Joel. Present were the committee members R' Yoel Bernath, R' Yeshaya Wertzberger, and R' Chaim Shlomo Kraus.
Also present were the village administrator R' Gedalia Segedin and the askan R' Avrohom Yoshe Glantz.
The Rebbe discussed at length with the askanim all the problems they encounter in their mission. They presented all the options and solutions, with concrete progress, on the matter of negotiating with the developers to keep prices stable. The Rebbe warmly bestowed his holy blessing upon them.

In the middle of the gathering, they paused at a set time, and the Rebbe shlit"a delivered via a hook-up to the talmidim of our holy yeshiva in Bnei Brak a shmaitta in the sugya of "Ein Shaliach L'Davar Aveirah," which they are currently learning, and concluded with brief words of guidance and his holy blessing.

In the evening, the Rebbe officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the mechutanim R' Yoel Kaufman and R' Avrohom Shmuel Brach, in the Kinor David hall.

At around 7:30, the Rebbe arrived at the ceremony of affixing the mezuzah and chanukas habayis of the 27th beis medrash in the holy community of Kiryas Joel, the new beis medrash "Imrei Noam" on Zhikov Street in the Divrei Yoel neighborhood. The Rebbe affixed a mezuzah, then went inside and looked around the entire beis medrash. Afterwards a lechayim gathering took place in the Heichal of the beis medrash. R' Dovid Eckstein from Eretz Yisroel spoke, and several nigunim were sung. The Rebbe drank a lechayim and warmly wished mazel tov to the HaGaon HaGadol, the Av Beis Din shlit"a, and to HaGaon Rabbi Yisroel Ber Stein shlit"a, the dayan of the beis medrash, and to R' Gedalia Segedin, who helped greatly for the beis medrash and for the entire community. He then delivered words of his holy mouth about the importance of naming streets after towns of the old home, which awakens the merit of the tzaddikim who lived there, both the name "Zhikov" and the name of the beis medrash "Imrei Noam," which awakens the great tzaddikim of the house of Zhikov, as well as the name of the neighborhood "Divrei Yoel," in honor and memory of the holy Rebbe zy"a. This will surely inspire the mispallelim of the beis medrash and the residents of the neighborhood to conduct themselves as befits Torah, avodah and gemilus chasadim. He also spoke in praise of the esteemed dayan of the beis medrash who was hired, HaGaon Rabbi Yisroel Ber Stein shlit"a, whose name precedes him in halacha rulings, etc., and wished him success in all matters and that no stumbling block should come from under his hands, and concluded with his holy blessing.

A pleasant conversation developed with the rabbanim shlit"a present, and the Rebbe continued with holy stories of the holy Rebbe, the Imrei Noam of Zhikov zy"a. It ended at around 8:00.

Yichidus hours were from 8:05 until 12:50 at night, in his holy home on Ohel Court.

At around 9:15, the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home.

During the yichidus hours, the HaGaon HaGadol, the Av Beis Din shlit"a, entered to bid farewell ahead of the Rebbe's departure for the vacation town in New Hampshire. The dayan shlit"a gave a kvitel and asked to be remembered, and requested that the Rebbe keep him in mind during the trip to the city of the forefathers, Sighet, at the tziyun of the holy Yismach Moshe zy"a on the day of the holy hilula.

Several distinguished members of the kehilla's leadership also entered the yichidus to hand over a kvitel for the Rebbe to take to the holy tziyunim of our holy Rebbes in Sighet, Uhel, and Sanz, to be remembered for yeshua and mercy.

A lechayim gathering also took place in the yichidus room in honor of the wedding simcha of the kallah, daughter of R' Yisroel Shimon Meir Leifer shlit"a of Temesvar, K"J, to the chosson, son of R' Yitzchak Dovid Twersky shlit"a, the Rebbe of Trisk-Tolna, son of the Trisk-London Rebbe shlit"a. A pleasant conversation ensued about stories of the tzaddikim of the house of Trisk. The Rebbe drank a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessings upon the mechutanim and grandfathers shlit"a.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 12:50.

Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Balak — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

On Friday night at around 9:00 the Rebbe entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha and Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Shlomo Weiss (Boro Park). The davening concluded at around 10:35, the congregation went over to wish a gut Shabbos, and the Rebbe went into his private room.

At around 11:05 the Rebbe entered the holy table in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with the talmidim of the mesivta and began, as is his custom, with Shalom Aleichem with feeling and sweetness.

On Shabbos morning the Rebbe entered for davening at around 9:40. Birchos HaShachar and Pesukei D'Zimra: HaGaon R' Yechezkel Gelbstein shlit"a. The Rebbe approached the amud for Shacharis, and sent his grandson Rabbi Yoel Ashkenazi shlit"a, son-in-law of the Rebbe's son-in-law HaGaon Rabbi, the Rav of the Avnei Tzedek beis medrash shlit"a, to lead the chazaras hashatz.

The Rebbe delivered a Torah thought on the verse "He has not beheld iniquity in Yaakov," and explained that through the power of the holiness of the holy Torah, one can emerge from all of the 50 gates of impurity, and one can make the proper preparation for the holy days. Uv'Chein Ava El HaMelech — the 72 days from the 17th of Tammuz until Rosh Hashana — one should make a true introspection, so that these days have the proper meaning, the proper preparation, and the proper thoughts of teshuva.

Yedid Nefesh: R' Dovid Neustadt. Kel Mistateir: R' Chaim Eli Rottah. The Rebbe bentched on the cup and recited Sheva Berachos.

Maariv for Motzei Shabbos: R' Shlomo Zalman Stein. After Havdalah the congregation went over to wish a gut voch. The Rebbe was escorted out with Ki Malachav on the occasion of his traveling for the week to New Hampshire for rest and rejuvenation. The davening concluded at around 11:10.
After Havdalah, a group of bochurim, talmidim of the Yeshiva Gedolah of Shikun Skvira, who had spent Shabbos b'tzeil hakodesh, entered the Rebbe's holy home. The Rebbe asked about their learning and bestowed his holy blessing upon them.

After 2:00 the Rebbe went to the new location of "Tina" (Drive Goods), a clothing store on Karlsburg, owned by R' Yoel Eli Schwartz, which has opened to sell the new tzniusdig clothing especially suited for the students of Beis Rachel for the coming season. The Rebbe affixed a mezuzah on the main entrance and then looked around the store. Afterwards a lechayim was held, a pleasant conversation ensued, and the Rebbe drank lechayim and bestowed his holy blessing upon the owner, all the employees, and the administration of the mosdos.
