Tuesday, Parshas Haazinu, 3rd of Selichos — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At 5:45 the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered the great beis medrash for the recital of Selichos. The baal tefillah was R' Noach Gefen. They finished at around 6:25, and the Rebbe went home to his holy residence.

Before Shacharis, the following brissim took place:
For the son born to R' Moshe Rosenfeld, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.
For the son born to R' Avrohom Shimon Bratt Wieder, where the Rebbe served as sandek.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the great beis medrash. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
The bochur Shmuel Weiss.
The bochur Meir Sachs.
After davening, the Rebbe blew the shofar.

After davening, a bris took place for the son born to R' Mendel Gershon Weiss (Monsey), where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

Afterwards, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim and the baal bris in the heichal of the beis medrash. Also greeting the Rebbe were HaGaon Rabbi Mordechai Aharon Zeibel shlit"a, director of the Yeshiva Gedolah, Eitz Chaim branch, shiur 3, together with the talmidim of the yeshiva who had returned from their trip to the holy places in Europe. The Rebbe inquired about how the trip went and wished that they should have accomplished all good.

Yechidus hours were from 6:30 until 10:20 in the evening, at his holy residence on Ohel Court.

The Rebbe davened Mincha at around 7:20, and Maariv at around 10:20.

Monday, Haazinu, Second Selichos — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At 5:45 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Great Beis Medrash for the recitation of Selichos. The one who led the davening was HaRav HaTzaddik R' Berel Glanz shlit"a of Bardiov. It concluded at about 6:25, and the Rebbe went home.

At about 9:45 the Rebbe arrived at the Great Beis Medrash for Shacharis. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
The son of R' Moshe Katz shlit"a.
The bochur Yoel son of Yosha Teller.
The bochur Yisroel Mendel Heimann.
The bochur Chaim Shlomo Baum.

During the Torah reading the Rebbe went up for Hagbah, and after davening sounded the shofar. Afterward a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room.

After Shacharis the Rebbe paid a shiva call to the family of R' Tuvia Schreiber a"h.

Entry hours for kvitelach were from 6:30 until 11:45 at night, at the Rebbe's home on Uhel Court.

The Rebbe davened Mincha at about 7:20, and Maariv at about 11:15, and afterward continued to receive the public.

Sunday, Parshas Haazinu, First Selichos — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At dawn, at 5:19, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Great Beis Medrash of Kiryas Joel for the recitation of Selichos.
The Great Beis Medrash, with all its sanctuaries and corridors, all the way to the porch, was filled to overflowing with many thousands of chassidim from across Greater New York and New Jersey.
The Rebbe shlit"a led the davening before the amud with great fervor, wrapped in the tallis and wearing the kapel of the Divrei Yoel zt"l, from the collection of R' Avrohom Moshe Falkowitz, and recited the Selichos of the Divrei Yoel zt"l with great inspiration. It concluded at about 6:20.

After the recitation of Selichos, the 'gathering of prayer and pleading for mercy' took place at the directive of the Rebbe shlit"a, where the thousands of Jews recited together the fourth book of Tehillim - as was also done in all the batei medrash of our holy kehilla around the world - to tear away and arouse the mercy of Heaven to nullify the decrees of the draft in Eretz Yisroel. The one who led the prayer was HaGaon Rabbi Naftali Hirsch Zwebel shlit"a, Rosh HaKahal and Rav of Beis Medrash Beirach Moshe of Williamsburg, and a member of the rabbinic leadership of Vaad Mishmeres Chomosecha Yerushalayim. It concluded at about 6:40, and the Rebbe went home.

Before Shacharis, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Shalom Yitzchak the son of Menley Shaar, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Great Beis Medrash. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:

After davening, the Rebbe sounded the shofar.

After Shacharis, the Rebbe went to visit the ill R' Yosha Mendlowitz at his home, may he have a speedy recovery. A pleasant conversation ensued, and the Rebbe wished him a complete and full recovery and abundant blessings.

Entry hours for kvitelach were from 6:30 until 10:15 at night, at the Rebbe's home on Uhel Court.

The Rebbe davened Mincha at about 7:10, and Maariv at about 10:15.

Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Nitzavim — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

On Erev Shabbos, an hour before candle-lighting, the Rebbe shlit"a gave a telephone blessing to HaGaon Rabbi Chaim Aharon Ungar shlit"a, a moreh d'asra of the Beis Medrash Lev Aharon of our holy kehilla in Williamsburg, on the occasion of the Shabbos of the opening of the doors of our magnificent beis medrash 'Lev Aharon' in the South Eighth neighborhood of Williamsburg.
On Friday night at about 7:15 the Rebbe entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha. Kabbalas Shabbos: HaGaon Rabbi Hershel Horowitz shlit"a, director of the Yeshiva for Younger Boys of Williamsburg. Davening concluded at about 8:50. The congregation passed by to wish a good Shabbos, and the Rebbe went into his private room.

At about 9:25 the Rebbe entered the holy tish in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with the talmidim of the Yeshiva for Younger Boys of Williamsburg, and began, as is his holy custom, with Shalom Aleichem, with feeling and sweetness.
Eishes Chayil: the Rebbe's grandson, the young man Yissachar Ber (may he have a good year), son of the son-in-law, HaGaon HaTzaddik, rav of Beis Medrash Beirach Moshe, shlit"a. Hagbahas HaKos: HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din of Manchester shlit"a.

Before the fish the Rebbe shared a Dvar Torah with the bochurim on the verse 'You are standing today,' and told a story about the holy Tzanzer Rav zy"a, who said that although in practice he davened at a late hour, his avodah began already from early morning with great preparation, and he would pray that he be able to daven. In order to be able to pray properly on Rosh Hashana, one must already now make preparation with prayer and Torah study.

The Rebbe shlit"a delivered a Torah thought on the verse 'You are standing today' and explained it in the manner of a derush, in the sugya of the mitzvos "lav le'hanos nitnu."

For the weekly stories, this week the Rebbe shlit"a related about the holy Rabbi Michele of Zlatchov zy"a, whose yahrzeit fell on Shabbos Kodesh, 25 Elul. Kah Ribon Olam: HaGaon Rabbi Hershel Teller shlit"a (Williamsburg). The new chasanim went over to take fruit. During the fruit, the melody attributed to the holy Rabbi Michele of Zlatchov zy"a was sung. Az B'Yom HaShvi'i: HaRav HaChosid R' Mordechai Dovid Esterreicher (Williamsburg). The tish concluded at about 12:05.

On Shabbos morning the Rebbe entered for davening at about 9:40. Brachos and Pesukei D'Zimra: HaGaon Rabbi Moshe Dovid Horowitz shlit"a. The Rebbe went to the amud for Shacharis.

In the afternoon at about 6:30 the Rebbe came down to the hall in his holy home, where the band, as is customary, sang the new melodies composed in preparation for the Yamim Noraim, may they come upon us for good. The Rebbe listened to the melodies and wished them blessing and success in elevating the honor of the Holy Creator and proclaiming His name as King in the world.

The Rebbe entered the beis medrash for Mincha and Shalosh Seudos at about 7:15. Mincha: HaRav HaChosid R' Elchanan Taub. Hotzaah and Hachnasah: HaRav HaChosid R' Mendel Greenfeld (Monsey). The Rebbe shlit"a delivered a Torah thought on the verse 'You are standing today' and explained that even when Jews are at a low level, they merit an awakening to teshuva, because the Creator looks upon His Jewish children, and through this gaze they are awakened to teshuva and Jews are blessed with all good.
