Monday, Parshas Vayeitzei, 2nd day of Rosh Chodesh Kislev — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Beis Medrash Imrei Noam in the Divrei Yoel neighborhood together with the talmidim of the Yeshiva Ketana, Maayan HaTorah branch of Boro Park, under the leadership of HaGaon Rabbi Yisroel Yitzchak Singer shlit"a.
Upon arriving at the beis medrash, the Rebbe was greeted by the Rosh Yeshiva HaGaon R' Yitzchak Rosenbaum shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Kaliش Monsey, and the Rebbe went in to observe the learning of the talmidim of the yeshiva.
The Rebbe proceeded to Hallel, and during the Torah reading was called up as the fourth aliyah.

After Shacharis the Rebbe went over to the halls in his holy home on Ohel Court, where the Rebbe had his pure table prepared in honor of Rosh Chodesh together with the talmidim of the yeshiva.
The Rebbe arrived at around 12:00 and washed for the seudah. During the seudah, Rosh Chodesh melodies were sung at length. The Rebbe honored HaRav Shalom Hersh Moskowitz shlit"a, a rebbi in the yeshiva, with leading "Barchi Nafshi."
The Rebbe shlit"a delivered a Torah address of derush and pilpul on the yeshiva's learning in Maseches Pesachim, then continued with mussar and chizuk in learning Torah and davening, and concluded with abundant blessings for the bochurim and students of the yeshiva.
The Rebbe honored the director, HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din of Kaliش Monsey shlit"a, with Birkas Hamazon. The seudah concluded at around 1:20.

In the afternoon the Rebbe went up to the Heichal HaYeshiva, Divrei Yoel branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the talmidim of the yeshiva in his private room. At around 5:10 the Rebbe davened Mincha in the yeshiva.

In the evening the Rebbe officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the following mechutanim:
R' Aharon Shmuel Fuchs – HaRav Dovid Eckstein shlit"a, in the Kinor Dovid hall.
R' Shlomo Meyer – R' Yechezkel Hershkowitz, in the Ginas Klein hall.

Reception hours were from 8:00 until 11:15 at night, in his holy home on Ohel Court.

The Rebbe shlit"a read the tnaim of the mechutanim R' Yoel Mermelstein – R' Yoel Gandel.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 10:40 and then continued receiving the public.

At around 11:45, HaRav HaTzaddik R' Chaim Meir Twersky shlit"a, son of the Skver Rebbe shlit"a, entered for a private audience in the Rebbe's holy home on Zanz Court, to extend an invitation and receive a blessing in honor of the wedding of his daughter, the kallah. The chasan is the son of HaGaon Rabbi Aryeh Leibush Teitelbaum shlit"a, and the chasan of HaRav R' Aharon Mendel shlit"a, son of the Skver Rebbe shlit"a. The wedding will take place, IY"H, next week on Tuesday, Parshas Vayishlach, in Skver. A pleasant conversation ensued with memories of the Skverer Rebbe zt"l and of the Shabbos the Rebbe shlit"a spent in his presence in Skver nearly sixty years ago, and the Rebbe bestowed blessings upon him.

At around 1:15 the Rebbe shlit"a went over to the home of the Rav of Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek shlit"a for the kesher hachituin (engagement) of his daughter, the kallah, l'mazel tov. A pleasant conversation developed about the great lineage of the chasan and kallah and stories of tzaddikim about their grandfathers. The kabbalas kinyan was made, joyous melodies were sung, the Rebbe drank lechayim and bestowed his holy blessings upon the chasan, the mechutanim and the family members. On the way out the Rebbe wished the kallah well. The event concluded at around 2:00.

Sunday, Parshas Vayeitzei, 1 Kislev — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the morning, before Shacharis, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Chaim Avrohom Frankel, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Divrei Yoel branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Shalom Levi.

The Rebbe proceeded to Hallel, and during the Torah reading he was called up as the fourth aliyah. After davening, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochur in the Rebbe's private room.

After Shacharis, the Rebbe went over to the halls in his holy home on Ahel Court, where the Rebbe extended his holy table in honor of Rosh Chodesh together with the talmidim of the Yeshiva Gedola Esek HaTorah of Monsey, under the leadership of HaGaon Rabbi Yisroel Mordechai Seidenfeld shlit"a.
The Rebbe arrived at about 12:45 and washed for the Rosh Chodesh seudah. During the seudah, they sang out the Rosh Chodesh nigunim of the holy Rebbe R' Hersh of Rimanov zy"a, whose yahrzeit it was.

After Borchi Nafshi, the Rebbe delivered words of Torah and quoted from the Chasam Sofer that there are forty days from Rosh Chodesh Elul until Yom Kippur, and forty days from Hoshana Rabba until Rosh Chodesh Kislev, so that Rosh Chodesh Kislev is an aspect of Yom Kippur, as it is said, 'There were no days as joyous for Israel as the fifteenth of Av and Yom Kippur, on which the daughters of Israel go out, etc.' Accordingly, these times are auspicious for shidduchim. He concluded with abundant blessings and wished shidduchim for all the bochurim.
The Rebbe honored the director shlit"a with leading Birkas HaMazon. The seudah ended at about 1:45.

Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Toldos, Mevarchim Chodesh Kislev — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

Before candle lighting, the Rebbe placed the shtreimel on the chassanim.
The chosson Kalman, the bochur son of Avrohom Yehoshua Gefen.
The chosson Mendel, the bochur son of Yoel Epstein.
The chosson Elimelech, the bochur son of Shlomo Klein.

On Friday night at around 5:00 the Rebbe entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha. Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Shlomo Klein. Davening ended at around 6:30. An appeal for the Talmud Torah in Kommemiyus was held, may it be rebuilt. The congregation went over to wish a gut Shabbos, and the Rebbe went home to his holy residence.

At around 8:25 the Rebbe entered the tish in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with the talmidim of the Mesivta, and began, as is his custom, with Shalom Aleichem with feeling and sweetness.
Eshes Chayil: the Rebbe's grandson, the Rebbe's grandson Yissachar Ber Teitelbaum, son of the Rebbe's son, HaGaon Rabbi, the Rav of the beis medrash, Beirach Moshe shlit"a. Hagbahas HaKos: Rabbi Avrohom Wolf Friedman shlit"a.

The Rebbe shlit"a honored people with the zemiros. Kol Mekadesh: HaGaon R' Yoel Meisels shlit"a, Rav of the Sighet beis medrash in Kiryas Joel. Menucha V'Simcha: R' Avrohom Hirsch (London).

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "And he smelled the fragrance of his garments," and explained that Rabbeinu Gershom is called "Meor HaGolah" because his great takanos arouse Above that, so to speak, Hashem should not, Heaven forbid, cast away Jewish children in exile and take another nation in their place.

Stories and anecdotes: This week the Rebbe shlit"a related about the holy R' Hersh of Rimanov zy"a, whose yahrzeit falls today, Sunday, 30 Cheshvan. Kah Ribon Olam: HaGaon R' Dovid Liebermann shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Shenia, Boro Park. The new chassanim went over to take fruit. Ki Yom HaShvi'i: R' Yaakov Hollander (Williamsburg). It ended at around 11:00.

On Shabbos morning the Rebbe entered the beis medrash at around 9:20. Brachos and Pesukei D'Zimra: R' Elchanan Taub. For Shacharis the Rebbe approached the amud.

Hotzaah and Hachnasah: R' Kapil Schonbrun. Pesukei Shema Yisroel: HaGaon R' Yitzchak Eizik Fuchs shlit"a, moreh tzedek.

Aliyos. Kohen: R' Yoel Dovid Dresdner. Levi: R' Yoel Berger, son of R' Shmuel. Shlishi: the chosson Kalman, son of Avrohom Yehoshua Gefen — showered with candy. Revi'i: the chosson Elimelech, son of Shlomo Klein — showered with candy. Chamishi: the chosson Hershel, son of Aharon Shmuel Fuchs — showered with candy. Shishi: the Rebbe shlit"a.

After his aliyah, the Rebbe named the daughters born to:

After the Torah reading the Rebbe shlit"a blessed the new month with great fervor.

For Mincha and Shalosh Seudos the Rebbe entered the beis medrash at around 5:00. Mincha: R' Yisroel Yaakov Brach. Hotzaah and Hachnasah: R' Pinchas Yoel Freund (Boro Park). Kohen: R' Yitzchak Tzvi Weiss shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Uhel, Boro Park. Levi: R' Avrohom Yitzchak Landau (Williamsburg). Shlishi: R' Shlomo Yaakov Neustadt. Hagbah: the Rebbe shlit"a. Gelilah: R' Yehuda Ungerstein (Monsey).

At Shalosh Seudos the Rebbe honored people with the zemiros. Odeh: R' Noach Gefen. Shir HaMaalos: R' Moshe Goldstein.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "And he smelled the fragrance of his garments and blessed him," and explained that in teshuva there is the attribute of chesed, in that there is atonement for sins even for those that one does not remember. Through learning Torah at night, a thread of chesed is drawn upon a person, especially when it comes with toil, and through this one merits chesed and mercy throughout the entire day.

Yedid Nefesh: R' Avrohom Schwartz (London). Kel Mistater: R' Moshe Aryeh Freund (Boro Park). The Rebbe recited the blessing over the cup.

Maariv on Motzei Shabbos: the Motzei Shabbos baal tefillah R' Yehoshua Mendlowitz. After Havdalah the congregation went over to wish a gut voch. It ended at around 7:15.

On Motzei Shabbos at around 10:30 the Rebbe went to the tenaim at the hall in his holy residence on Uhel Court, where the Rebbe read the tenaim of the mechutanim Rabbi Moshe, son of HaGaon R' Chaim Yosef Wertzberger shlit"a (Antwerp) and Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Borzesky shlit"a.

From there the Rebbe went to our beis medrash "Beis Chaim Dovid" in Kiryas Joel, where an appointment ceremony took place at which the Rebbe accepted HaGaon R' Yosef Shmuel Berkowitz shlit"a, son of the HaGaon HaGadol, the Dayan and Moreh Tzedek shlit"a, and son-in-law of the HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din of Ashoy shlit"a, as dayan and moreh tzedek of the beis medrash.
The Rebbe arrived at around 10:45. The HaGaon HaGadol, the dayan shlit"a, spoke, and the chairman R' Shimon Weinberger called up R' Dovid Eckstein of Eretz Yisroel, after which the new dayan of the beis medrash, HaGaon R' Yosef Shmuel shlit"a, spoke.
The Rebbe drank a lechayim and offered blessings to the HaGaon the dayan shlit"a, to his son the dayan of the beis medrash shlit"a, to the HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din of Ashoy shlit"a, and to the entire congregation, and especially to R' Yehuda Zev Klein, one of the great benefactors of the beis medrash and a member of the committee for the expansion of the city's borders.

The Rebbe shlit"a delivered words of Torah on the verse "And may Hashem give you of the dew of heaven," and explained that through the holy Torah Eretz Yisroel grows greater, and he expressed joy that Kiryas Joel is expanding, baruch Hashem, in all directions with great success, and that such an esteemed dayan is being accepted into the beis medrash, located in such a beautiful area where the residents do not want, Heaven forbid, to run away from Kiryas Joel but want to be a part of Kiryas Joel. In this connection the Rebbe named the area (Quickway Hill) "Shechunas Pri Megadim." The Rebbe continued with words of guidance to the residents, that they should take care to maintain everything just as in Kiryas Joel, especially in matters of tznius and dress for boys and girls, and concluded with abundant blessings to the dayan of the beis medrash and to the entire congregation. It ended at around 11:30. On his way out the Rebbe looked in on the newly completed mikvah in the beis medrash.
