Thursday, Parshas Beshalach — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At around 8:15 the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered for Shacharis.

After Shacharis the Rebbe walked home to his holy residence. A pleasant conversation was held about various neighborhoods in New York and countries in Europe where Jews settled after the Second World War.

In the afternoon at around 5:55 the Rebbe shlit"a entered for Mincha. Baal tefillah: R' Shlomo Menashe son of R' Yoel Falkowitz (Kiryas Joel). Between Mincha and Maariv the Rebbe was engaged in his learning, and at the time of Rabbeinu Tam, at around 6:35, Maariv was davened.

After Maariv a lechayim gathering took place in the heichal of the beis medrash in honor of the simcha of the kishur ha'chituin (engagement) of the Rebbe shlit"a's eldest great-grandchild, the kallah, daughter of HaGaon Rabbi Yoel Glanz shlit"a, to the grandson of HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din of Womsb"g shlit"a. The Rebbe came out in a festive dance in the middle of the floor for several minutes, and nigunim of thanksgiving were sung with great emotion.

The Rebbe shlit"a drank lechayim and blessed the rabbonim shlit"a who were present and the entire kehilla. He then delivered a Torah discourse on the verse "Ozi v'zimras Kah vayehi li lishuah" and explained that by building a Jewish home, one draws down the Shechinah, and it becomes "Elokei avi — va'aromemenhu." He continued in a voice choked with tears, with the emotion of the joy of Shehecheyanu v'kiyemanu v'higianu lazman hazeh, now that an engagement is being made with his first great-grandchild, and of the praise and thanks owed to Hashem for living to see such a distinguished match, with a chosson who is a talmid chacham, a bar orayan and a bar avahan, a descendant of tzaddikim and kedoshim, a close family member, a grandson of his grandfather the holy R' Shalom Eliezer of Ratzfert zy"a, may he be elevated in holiness. The Rebbe mentioned that the kallah was born on the day of the passing of her father's father, the holy Rebbe, the Beirach Moshe zy"a, who even lived to see a fifth generation, and that surely he would have had great joy from the present match. He concluded with abundant blessings, from afar, for the chosson, the mechutanim, the distinguished grandfathers, the rabbonim shlit"a, and the entire kehilla.
They continued with joyous nigunim for some time. They concluded at around 7:15, and the entire kehilla came over to wish the Rebbe shlit"a mazel tov.

Tuesday, Parshas Beshalach — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At around 8:15 the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered for Shacharis.
The Rebbe lit the candles and approached the amud in honor of the yahrzeit of the holy Rebbe.

After davening, a lechayim gathering took place in honor of the yahrzeit. The Rebbe drank lechayim and bestowed blessings upon the entire kehilla, and related stories and episodes about the Baal HaHilula zy"a at some length.

In the afternoon at around 5:40 the Rebbe shlit"a entered for Mincha. The Rebbe lit the candles and approached the amud.

After Mincha, the Rebbe set up his pure table in honor of the yahrzeit. The Rebbe washed for the seudah. After the fish, the Rebbe made a siyum on Maseches Gittin, which had been learned by the Yesodei HaTorah chavurah, and recited Kaddish.
During the seudah, they sang the nigunim that were sung in his time by the Baal HaHilula zy"a. With the "Michtam LeDovid," the Rebbe honored HaGaon HaTzaddik, the Av Beis Din of Oistrik shlit"a.
The Rebbe shlit"a delivered a Torah discourse from the teachings of the Baal HaHilula zy"a, and then continued with holy stories.
The Rebbe recited Birkas Hamazon over a cup; they concluded at around 7:10. Afterwards Maariv was davened.

Monday, Parshas Beshalach — "B'tzeil HaKodesh" with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At around 8:15 the Rebbe shlit"a entered for Shacharis.

After Shacharis the Rebbe walked home to his lodging, and a beautiful conversation was held about the sacred possessions of the Rebbes, the Atzei HaTamarim zy"a.

In the evening at around 5:50 the Rebbe shlit"a entered for Mincha. Between Mincha and Maariv the Rebbe was engaged in learning, and at the time of Rabbeinu Tam, at around 6:30, Maariv was davened. The Rebbe lit five candles and a yahrzeit candle and went to the amud on the occasion of the hilula kadisha of his grandfather, the Baal Atzei Chaim zy"a.

Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Bo — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a in the resort city of Palm Springs

On Erev Shabbos afternoon, before the visible sunset at around 4:05, the Rebbe ceased from work, as is his custom.

On Friday night at around 5:55 the Rebbe entered the beis medrash, wrapped himself in his tallis, and approached the amud for Mincha. Kabbalas Shabbos: HaRav R' Yehoshua Gelb shlit"a, a member of the beis din of our holy kehilla in Williamsburg. Davening ended at around 7:20. The congregation went over to wish a "gut Shabbos," the guests greeted the Rebbe, and the Rebbe walked home to his holy residence.

At around 9:45 the door of his holy residence was opened for the zemiros and divrei Torah.
The Rebbe shlit"a honored people with the zemiros. Kol Mekadesh: HaRav R' Moshe Boruch Zilber shlit"a (Boro Park); Menucha V'Simcha: HaRav R' Moshe Menachem Schlesinger (Kiryas Joel).

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "Uvam mikneinu yeilech imanu" and explained, by way of derush, the sugya of whether one follows quantity or quality.

Stories and Anecdotes: This week the Rebbe shlit"a related stories about his grandfather, the Eitz Chaim zy"a, whose yahrzeit falls on Tuesday, 6 Shevat.

Kah Ribon Olam: HaRav R' Yehuda Ber Teller shlit"a (Williamsburg). Bundles were brought in and joyous melodies were sung in honor of the Shalom Zachor for the Rebbe's grandson, the newborn son of R' Yekusiel Yehuda Teitelbaum shlit"a, son of the Rav, Av Beis Din of Williamsburg shlit"a. Az B'Yom HaShvi'i: HaRav R' Avrohom Shlomo Kahana (Williamsburg). The tish ended at around 11:30.

Shabbos Day

On Shabbos morning the Rebbe entered the beis medrash at around 9:25. Brachos and Pesukei D'Zimra: HaRav R' Michoel Feldman (Kiryas Joel). The Rebbe then approached the amud for Shacharis, and the Rebbe's son, HaGaon HaRav, Rav of Beis Medrash Yismach Moshe shlit"a, was sent to lead the chazaras hashatz.

The Rebbe entered the beis medrash for Mincha and Shalosh Seudos at around 5:55.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "Zos chukas haPesach" and explained that Jews always take actions to draw close to the Creator, but not everyone merits to remain close, because the blemish of sin, even when one does teshuva, causes a person to fall and not remain at that level. The advice is to engage in Torah study, learning Gemara and Tosafos; then one can merit siyata d'Shmaya, and the teshuva will be lasting.
