Sunday, Parshas Pekudei — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning, before Shacharis, a bris took place for a newborn son of R' Meir Zeide Weiss (Williamsburg), in the home of his grandfather, HaRav HaChassid R' Avrohom Sholom Landau, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Kedushas Yoel branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put on tefillin for the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Bechor Moshe Sruga.

After davening, the Rebbe delivered the daily Tehillim shiur on chapter 25, verse 2. Afterward, a lechayim took place with the bar mitzvah bochur in the Rebbe's private room.
Also entering for a private audience was a group of outstanding yeshiva bochurim who had presented themselves for examination before HaGaon HaGadol, the Av Beis Din shlit"a, on the entire Maseches Bava Metzia, from beginning to end. The Rebbe distributed a Tehillim to the bochurim and bestowed his holy blessing upon them.

At around 1:40 the Rebbe went up to the Heichal HaMesivta, Divrei Yoel branch, where the Rebbe delivered the fourth shiur in the sugya, in the sugya of "mitoch," as preparation for the Shabbos HaGadol derasha. The Rebbe finished at around 2:15.

In the afternoon, at around 6:10, the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home.

At around 7:10 the Rebbe went over to the main beis medrash for the simcha of a hachnasas sefer Torah, which was donated by HaRav HaChassid R' Shlomo Weinberger. The Rebbe took the sefer Torah, led the holy dancing, recited "L'Dovid Mizmor" as is customary, and bestowed his holy blessing upon the donor and his family.

At around 7:50 the Rebbe went over to the halls in his holy home on Ihel Street, where a Sheva Brachos in his honor took place for HaRav HaChassid R' Shlomo Hersh Eckstein, arranged by the administration of the Shul Hoif in the city of the forefathers, Sighet, may it be rebuilt. A pleasant conversation ensued. The Rebbe drank lechayim and offered blessings to the chosson, the mechutanim, the grandfathers, and the entire gathering. The mechutan, HaRav HaChassid R' Shlomo Hersh, was honored with leading the bentching, and the Rebbe recited the Sheva Brachos. Afterward, the Rebbe rose and danced with the chosson, and then with the mechutanim and grandfathers.

Private audience hours were from 8:15 until 11:45 at night, in his holy home on Ihel Street.

The Rebbe shlit"a read the tenaim of the mechutanim HaGaon Rabbi Menachem Zev Stern shlit"a (Williamsburg) and HaRav HaChassid R' Yoel Hersh Roth.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 11:45.

Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Vayakhel, Shabbos Parah — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

Friday night at around 7:45 the Rebbe entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha and Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Yitzchak Elyakim Schwartz. They finished at around 9:20. The congregation went over to wish a good Shabbos, and the Rebbe went into his private room.

At around 9:55 the Rebbe entered the holy tish in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with the talmidim of the Mesivta, and began as usual with Shalom Aleichem, with feeling and melody.
Eishes Chayil: the Rebbe's grandson, the bochur Yissachar Ber T"B, son of the son-in-law of HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of the beis medrash Barach Moshe shlit"a. Hagbahas HaKos: R' Efraim Moshe Levy (Bnei Brak).

The Rebbe shlit"a delivered a Torah thought on the verse 'Vayakhel Moshe es kol adas Bnei Yisroel' and explained it in the manner of a derush on the sugya of time-bound positive mitzvos.

Stories and accounts: this week the Rebbe shlit"a told over about the holy Rebbe R' Elimelech zy"a, whose yahrzeit was Friday, 21 Adar.

Kah Ribon Olam: Rabbi Alter Yaakov Yitzchak, son of R' Naftali Chaim Wagschal shlit"a (Williamsburg). The new chasanim went over to take fruit. Az B'Yom HaShevi'i: R' Yaakov Chaim Moskowitz (Williamsburg). They finished at around 12:40.

U'v'Yom HaShabbos Kodesh

On Shabbos morning the Rebbe entered the beis medrash at around 9:45. Berachos and Pesukei D'Zimra: HaGaon HaTzaddik R' Yisroel Dovid Liebermann shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Shenia. The Rebbe recited Zachor verse by verse, and approached the amud for Shacharis and Yotzer. They sang at Mechalkel Chaim and Mimkomcha as customary.

The Rebbe shlit"a delivered a Torah thought on the verse in the reading of Parshas Parah, 'Zos chukas haTorah,' and explained that in order to merit being called "adam" — "you are called adam, while the nations of the world are not called adam" — one must see to cleave to the Master of the world. Through prayer one cleaves to the Creator, but before that one must learn Torah in purity, by purifying oneself in the mikvah.

After Havdalah, the Rebbe paid a shiva call to the Dees Rebbe of Kiryas Joel shlit"a, who is sitting shiva for his sister, the Rebbetzin of Kasan, of Lakewood, a"h.

Afterwards, the Rebbe paid a shiva call to the sons of R' Avrohom Katz a"h, who are sitting shiva for their mother a"h.
