Friday, Erev Shabbos Parshas Vayeilech — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At dawn, at 5:45, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the main beis medrash for the recital of Selichos. The baal tefillah was R' Shlomo Zalman Stein. It concluded at around 6:35, and the Rebbe returned to his holy residence.

Before Shacharis, the Rebbe connected by telephone with the bochur Moshe ben Gitel, a talmid of our holy yeshiva Maharit in Bnei Brak, who is sitting in prison for the "offense" of refusing to report to the treife Zionist army. The Rebbe strengthened him greatly and bestowed upon him his holy blessing.

At around 9:50, the Rebbe arrived at the main beis medrash for Shacharis.
Before davening, the bris of the newborn son of R' Yoshe Dovid Markowitz took place, at which the Rebbe served as sandek.

The Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- The bochur Meir Menachem Zev Hirsch.
- The bochur Nachman Schlager.
- The bochur Shmuel Tuvia Freund.
- The bochur Nachman Dovid Schmidman.
- The bochur Chaim Zev Falkowitz.

After davening, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the hall of the beis medrash.

Thursday, Parshas Vayeilech – Tzom Gedalia – 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At daybreak, at 5:45, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered the Great Beis Medrash for the recital of Selichos. The baal tefillah was R' Moshe Meir Gottlieb. It concluded at around 6:35, and the Rebbe went home to his holy residence.

At around 9:45 the Rebbe arrived at the Great Beis Medrash for Shacharis.
Before davening, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Efraim Yitzchak Adler, at which the Rebbe served as sandek.

The Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- the bochur Yoel Pasternak.
- the bochur Yoel Eisdorfer.
- the bochur Yoel Bar Mitzvah Mittelman.
- the bochur Yom Tov Berger.

- Petichah: R' Yoel Eisdorfer.

At around 5:50 the Rebbe entered for Mincha and the Shabbos Shuvah derashah, in the presence of thousands of our chassidim in the Great Beis Medrash.

- Petichah: R' Baruch Mordechai Oberlander (Montreal).
- Kohen: R' Shmuel HaKohen Friedman, a member of the Rebbe's inner circle.

- Shlishi – Maftir: the Rebbe shlit"a.

After Mincha, at 6:30, the Rebbe wrapped himself in his tallis, went up to the Aron Kodesh and davened a silent prayer, then began the derashah on the verse "Shuvah Yisroel ad Hashem Elokecha," and immediately delved into a lengthy pilpul on the topic of a mitzvah performed through an aveira, continuing with words of derush and beautiful explanations in the manner of aggadah.
He then gave chizuk on the following:
- That we should strengthen ourselves in setting fixed times for Torah study in one of the Yesodei HaTorah chaburos, and "Your Torah is my delight." The strength of Torah learning in our kehilla has indeed risen, but every single Jew without exception must have a fixed shiur.
- Regarding tefillah, to daven from beginning to end with unhurried care, starting from the berachos; then one will merit all the berachos.
- The Rebbe spoke about Kiryas Joel, which the holy Rebbe, the Divrei Yoel zy"a, founded so that it would be separate from all the customs of America, "a people that dwells alone." We must continue the legacy of the holy Rebbe to maintain the wall and remain separate from all the fashions and stay apart, so that no outsider should mix into our camp. Someone with a different outlook than ours should not be drawn here, neither to Kiryas Joel nor to Kiryas Joel Expanded.
- The Rebbe continued with words of mussar regarding today's songs, that one should not sing today's modern songs.
- Regarding tznius, from head to toe, from the hair to the socks, and the immodest sheitels.
- He praised and strengthened the Chaburah for Avodah K'Halacha, kashrus in offices, that every business owner and worker should make sure to have it in his office.
- The Rebbe addressed the decree against chinuch in New York, where, b'siyata d'Shmaya, the law was changed for the benefit of chinuch, but the wicked do not rest and filed a lawsuit in court. It is a serious lawsuit, and we hope and pray to Hashem, "Nullify the plans of our enemies," that they should not succeed and not be able to disturb the chinuch of the tinokos shel beis rabban.
- The bitter decree of drafting yeshiva students in Eretz Yisroel, where dozens of bochurim sat in prison on Yom Tov of Rosh Hashana for the sole "sin" of learning Torah, among them a bochur from the talmidim of our holy yeshiva in Bnei Brak. We must thank Hashem that there is a battle cry in the camp, and he strongly strengthened the fighters who are fighting with seriousness. But at the same time, unfortunately, there are those working on compromises through which half of Klal Yisroel could, chas v'shalom, end up in the impure army. We proclaim to the politicians that Jewish souls are not a commodity for politics! And we may not abandon any Jewish soul!
- And in this connection he strongly strengthened the askanim of Merkaz Ezra V'Eitza, who stand on the front line helping to rescue every individual from the army.

- He spoke about the problems of the various devices, particularly the desire of bochurim to have their own phone, and called on parents not to give a phone to a bochur. In the last few years free phones have been provided in all batei medrash, and it is now being introduced in the shopping centers, so that there should be no excuse for a bochur to have a phone.
- The Rebbe continued, speaking about apartment prices, which have, baruch Hashem, dropped considerably, both for buying and for renting an apartment, and he strengthened people to hold firm and not pay more than the established price, and nobody should say "I am an exception." In this way we will succeed in keeping prices low, both in Kiryas Joel and in Kiryas Joel Expanded.
The Rebbe concluded by recounting that he merited to hear personally from the holy Rebbe, the Divrei Yoel zy"a, at the derashah in the year 5726 (1966), that just as the holy Shinover Rav zy"a said in 5706 that it is a time of pekidah, and as the holy Yismach Moshe zy"a said that every sixty years is again a time of pekidah, and he was moved that we should merit the coming of Moshiach in 5726, the Rebbe said that we now stand in 5786, sixty years later, and we hope and pray that this year should be the year when we merit the coming of Moshiach. The Rebbe concluded with his holy blessing to the entire gathering.

The derashah concluded at around 7:50, and the Rebbe said Kaddish D'Rabbanan, and Maariv was davened. Baal Tefillah: R' Shmuel Leibush Weinberger.

Night of the Second Day of Rosh Hashana 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At the time of Rabbeinu Tam, the Rebbe entered the beis medrash for Maariv. The baal tefillah was HaRav HaChassid R' Dovid, son of R' Moshe Eckstein. They finished at around 8:40. The Rebbe went up to the Aron Kodesh and wished the entire congregation "a gut Yom Tov, a good, blessed year," and then went home to his holy residence.

At around 11:25 the Rebbe entered the pure table in the Heichal HaShulchanos.
Hagbahas HaKos (lifting of the cup): HaRav Eliyahu Gross shlit"a of Berbesht.
The Rebbe put on a new kaftan for Shehecheyanu, and on the table were fruits for Shehecheyanu. The Rebbe made a blessing on a taytel (date) and tasted from the Shehecheyanu fruits, and then distributed shirayim from the pomegranates to the entire assembly.

At the lechayim after the fish, the Rebbe wished everyone "a good and blessed year."
During the zemiros, the Rebbe honored HaRav Moshe Eliyahu Gross shlit"a (of Williamsburg).

The Rebbe said Torah on the verse "Ashrei HaAm Yodei Teruah" and explained that through the tekios while standing and while sitting, which are 3 times 30 together with the miluy (the spelled-out letters), the gematria equals "ayin-dalet" (74), to nullify the accusers. But this is only when one follows the traditional path in the study of the Aleph-Beis, as the Yetev Lev elaborates, in which manner one can calculate the gematria this way.

Birkas Hamazon: HaRav Eliyahu Gross shlit"a. They finished at around 12:30.

U'Nesaneh Tokef – The Holiness of the Day

On the second day of Yom Tov in the morning, the Rebbe entered at around 8:20.

As he did the first time, the Rebbe conducted the holy service. The Rebbe recited the Brachos aloud, and the baal tefillah began singing Adon Olam. Pesukei D'Zimra: HaRav HaGaon R' Dovid Perl shlit"a. Shacharis: HaRav HaChassid R' Berish Apfel.

The following were honored with the pesichos (opening the Aron) during Shacharis:
- HaRav HaChassid R' Uziel Lefkowitz.
- HaRav HaChassid R' Yitzchak Eizik Stein.
- HaRav HaChassid R' Shlomo Hersh Feldman.
- HaRav HaChassid R' Baruch Yitzchak Weiss.
- HaRav HaChassid R' Moshe Yosef Wertheimer.
- HaRav HaChassid R' Zalman Leib Kappel.

After a short break, the Rebbe entered wearing the kittel, a silver kapel, and the white-striped bekitshe.

- Hotza'ah and Hachnasah (taking out and returning the Torah) were honored to HaRav Moshe Eliyahu Gross shlit"a and HaRav Yosef Moshe Forgacs shlit"a.
- The verses of Shema Yisroel: HaRav Eliyahu Gross shlit"a.
- Carrying the Sefer Torah to the bimah: HaRav HaChassid R' Wolf Farkash and HaRav HaChassid R' Chaim Yechezkel Herskowitz.

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a was the baal koreh and read with great arousal, with weeping and outpouring of the soul. Aliyos:
- Kohen: HaRav HaTzaddik R' Yitzchak Tzvi Weiss shlit"a.
- Levi: HaRav HaChassid R' Chaim Hersh Apfel.
- Shlishi: the Gaon HaGadol, the Av Beis Din (Dayan U'Moreh Tzedek) shlit"a.

There was a break. The Rebbe went to the mikvah and then into his private room.

At around 1:20 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in the tallis, kapel and kittel of the Divrei Yoel zy"a. The Rebbe went up to the Aron Kodesh, davened a silent prayer, and began the festive derasha on the verse "Ashrei HaAm Yodei Teruah." He explained that through mitzvos and good deeds, the third Beis HaMikdash is built, but through sins it is, Heaven forbid, torn down, and even what earlier tzaddikim built is torn down. Therefore on Rosh Hashana one must make a cheshbon hanefesh, to see whether one is, Heaven forbid, not among those who have turned away, and to fix what needs fixing. He elaborated with words of arousal toward teshuva and rectifying one's deeds, and concluded with many blessings. He brought out a hint in the verse "Mi Yiten MiTziyon Yeshuas Yisroel": the word "Yeshuas" has the gematria of 5786 (Tashpa"v). He blessed that we should soon merit to see the salvation of Yisroel in their joys.
After the derasha the Rebbe said Kaddish D'Rabbanan. They finished at around 1:50.

Then the Rebbe went up to the bimah. The sifrei Torah were held by HaRav HaChassid R' Yoel Vogel (Antwerp) and R' Aharon Spitzer. The Rebbe recited Min HaMeitzar, and before the blessing put on a new silk tallis. He made the blessings with holy fire and blew the tekiah while sitting. The baal makri was the Gaon HaGadol, the Av Beis Din (Dayan U'Moreh Tzedek) shlit"a.

The Rebbe shlit"a approached the Mussaf prayer and said Hineni He'ani MiMaas. Kaddish was at 2:20. The baal tokea for the tekios while standing was HaGaon HaTzaddik R' Shlomo Zevel shlit"a, dayan and moreh tzedek of Beis Medrash Beis Dov.

Shlichei Amcha Beis Yisroel HaOmdim L'Vakeish Tefillah V'Tachanunim, V'Lehischanen Al Amcha Yisroel. As he did the first time, the prayers were one piece of holy emotion, with weeping from time to time and with a voice hewing flames of fire, which stirred the entire hall of the beis medrash.

The following were honored with the pesichos during Mussaf:
- HaRav HaChassid R' Avrohom Shalom Landau.
- HaRav HaChassid R' Yitzchak Markowitz.
- HaRav HaChassid R' Berel Palachek.
- HaRav HaChassid R' Hirtzka Greenfeld.
- HaRav HaChassid R' Meir Zev Friedman.

HaRav HaChassid R' Avrohom Yehoshua Glantz and HaRav HaChassid R' Yoel, son of R' Moshe Mittelman were honored with lifting the Rebbe at Korim (the bowing).

Kavveh was recited by HaRav HaChassid R' Yitzchak Ehrenfeld. The opening of Ane'im Zemiros: HaRav HaChassid R' Eliezer Roth. They finished at around 5:25 and immediately davened Mincha. Before the amud, HaRav HaChassid R' Yosef Moshe Glantz davened. For Shemoneh Esrei the Rebbe davened with the tallis over his head. They finished at around 5:50.

At around 7:50 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the pure table for Neilas Yemei Rosh Hashana in the Beis Medrash HaGadol.

Kugel and sweet carrots were brought in, and the melodies of the Yamim Noraim were sung.

With Atah Nigleisa, the Rebbe honored his grandson HaRav Anshil Ashkenazi shlit"a (Manchester), son-in-law of the Gaon HaTzaddik, rav of Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek shlit"a.

The Rebbe said Torah on the verse "Tiku BaChodesh Shofar" and explained that by virtue of the Jews fulfilling the mitzvos d'Rabbanan, Hashem, who is obligated by the obligations of a husband to his wife, bestows salvations upon Jewish children. He added a hint to the explanation of the Rebbe of Lublin zy"a on "V'asisa Mishbetzos Zahav," that Jews should have boxes with gold; the word "V'asisa" has the gematria of 5786 (Tashpa"v), meaning that boxes of gold should descend, and sustenance should flow in great abundance. He concluded with many blessings.

They continued with the melodies of the Yamim Noraim, and HaRav Hershel Kohn shlit"a sang a traditional melody of the holy R' Yisroel of Pikov zy"a, son of the holy Kedushas Levi zy"a. And the Rebbe made a blessing on the cup.

Maariv for Motzei Yom Tov: HaRav HaChassid R' Chaim Yaakov Gutman. The Rebbe made Havdalah, and after Havdalah wished the entire congregation "a gutte voch, a gut yohr," and thanked the choir who sang the new melodies during the davening. They finished at around 9:00.

May it be the will of Hashem that our prayers be accepted with mercy and favor, a good and blessed year for us and for all Yisroel

"Yom Teruah Yihyeh Lachem" — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

On the first day of Yom Tov in the morning, the Rebbe entered the beis medrash at around 8:15.

The Rebbe shlit"a poured out his holy tefillos privately between himself and his Creator, with a broken and trembling heart, begging for mercy like a poor man at the door, with awesome weeping that was heard throughout the entire beis medrash and made the hearts of the thousands of mispallelim tremble.
The Rebbe recited the berachos beforehand, and then the baal tefillah began singing Adon Olam. Pesukei D'zimrah: HaRav HaGaon R' Avrohom Shalom Friedman shlit"a, one of the roshei hakollelim. The Rebbe recited "Vechorus" verse by verse. Shacharis: HaGaon HaGadol, the Dayan U'Moreh Tzedek shlit"a.
The following were honored with the pesichos at Shacharis:
- R' Shlomo Wertzberger
- R' Selig Indig
- R' Shalom Yuda Klein
- R' Meir Wertheimer
They finished at around 11:30.

After a short break the Rebbe entered wearing the kittel, silver kappel, and white stockings and bekitshe.
- Hotzaah and Hachnasah (taking out and returning the Torah) were given as honors to HaRav HaGaon R' Yosef Hersh Soifer shlit"a, moreh tzedek, and HaRav HaGaon R' Nosson Dov Schwartz shlit"a, moreh tzedek.
- The verses of Shema Yisroel: HaRav HaTzaddik R' Yitzchak Tzvi Weiss shlit"a of Uhel, Boro Park.
- Carrying the Sefer Torah to the bimah: R' Moshe Goldberger and R' Chaim Kornbluh.

The Rebbe was the baal korei and read the Torah with tears and great hislahavus. The aliyos:
- Kohen: the chassan of the Shabbos Kodesh, R' Shmuel HaKohen Friedman.
- Levi: R' Elazar Gruber.
- Shlishi: R' Avrohom Wieder.
- Revi'i: R' Lipa Gross.
- Chamishi: the Rebbe shlit"a.

After the aliyah, the Rebbe recited the Shehecheyanu-name blessing for the birth of a daughter for:
- R' Mendel, son of R' Yoel Epstein
- R' Aharon, son of R' Yoel Eckstein
- R' Yoel, son of R' Yehoshua Shmaya
- R' Chaim Shimon Glauber

- Hagbah of the first sefer: R' Yuda Weiss.

There was a pause; the Rebbe went to the mikvah and then into his private room.

At 1:10 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in the tallis, kappel and kittel of the holy Rebbe, the Divrei Yoel zy"a. The Rebbe went up to the aron kodesh, davened a silent tefillah, and began the festive "Tekias Shofar drasha" on the verse "Ashrei HaAm Yodei Teruah." He explained that when the Beis HaMikdash stood, people merited humility and self-nullification in the holy place; through the sound of the shofar one is purified so as to be able to approach Hashem in our times as well.
Another aspect: on Rosh Hashana, Jews need to draw near with the help of the earlier tzaddikim in order to purify themselves; at the blowing of the shofar, the merit of Yaakov Avinu is awakened, through which one has the strength to do teshuva properly. He concluded with a hint, "Biglal Avos Toshia Banim": "Toshia" has the gematria of Tashpu (5786), and we hope and pray that the holy forefathers will save us and that we will soon merit the salvation of Yisroel with the complete redemption. He concluded with abundant berachos in all matters for the entire congregation.
After the drasha the Rebbe recited Kaddish D'Rabbanan; they finished at around 1:40.

Then the Rebbe shlit"a went up to the bimah.
The sifrei Torah were held by:

- R' Aharon Spitzer
The Rebbe recited "Min HaMeitzar," made the berachos over a holy fire, and blew the tekios d'meyushav. The baal makri was HaGaon HaGadol, the Dayan U'Moreh Tzedek shlit"a.

The Rebbe shlit"a approached the amud for Musaf and recited "Hineni He'ani Mima'as," and began Kaddish at about 2:10.

The baal tokei'a at the tekios d'omed was HaGaon HaTzaddik R' Shlomo Zabel shlit"a, dayan and moreh tzedek of Beis Medrash Beis Dov.
The Rebbe shlit"a davened from a machzor in Nusach Tefillah Yeshara.
Standing before the aron kodesh in awe, with Your people surrounding them like a wall, taking part in the holy service with awe and fear, with spiritual stirring and holy emotion during Musaf, and especially at the verses of Malchiyos, Zichronos and Shofros, with a penetrating voice and a heart poured out like water, "the eyes of Your people are lifted and eyes look hopefully to You."

Honored with the pesichos at Musaf:
- R' Yehoshua Wertzberger
- R' Mordechai Landau
- R' Yaakov Mittelman
- R' Yudel Steinmetz
- R' Berel Herskowitz

R' Yoel Epstein and R' Shlomo Zalman Weiss were honored with lifting the Rebbe at Korim.

R' Yitzchak Ehrenfeld approached for "Kavei"; the opening of "Anim Zemiros": R' Aryeh Hoffman (Monsey). They finished at around 5:30 and immediately davened Mincha. Before the amud was R' Aharon Spitzer. For Shemoneh Esrei the Rebbe davened with the tallis over his head. They finished at around 6:00.

At the midday tish in his holy home, the Rebbe honored his grandson HaRav Dovid Teitelbaum shlit"a with the zemiros.
The Rebbe said Torah on the text "B'ein Melitz Yosher Mul Magid Pesha," explaining that through emunah a Jew has life and is not rejected, and told several stories about Rosh Hashana.

For bentching, the Rebbe honored HaRav Yoel Weinberger shlit"a.

'Let the year and its blessings begin'

Yom Tov of Rosh Hashana 5786, B'tzeil HaKodesh with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a in the midst of the holy kehilla of Kiryas Joel.

On the evening of Yom Tov, at around 7:30, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and began Mincha with great fervor, after which the piyut 'Achos Ketana' was recited as is customary.

After Mincha, the annual appeal for the 'Mivtzar HaKollelim of Kiryas Joel' took place, with its 1,200 kollel members. The director of the kollelim, HaGaon Rabbi Wolf Aharon Teller shlit"a, spoke.

Then, at around 8:20, the Rebbe began Maariv, and after davening, 'L'Dovid Mizmor' was recited as is customary, with the fire of holiness. The davening ended at around 8:55.

After davening, the Rebbe shlit"a went up to the Aron Kodesh for the 'Birchas HaKodesh' and said a Torah thought on the verse 'He shall receive a blessing from Hashem.' He explained that when a blessing comes from Hashem Himself, the blessing rests even on something measured and counted; He gives, and gives again, and gives again. A general blessing is bestowed, and a personal blessing for each person according to what he needs. The Rebbe blessed the entire holy congregation with abundant blessings, 'May you be inscribed and sealed for a good year, immediately, for a good life and for peace.' He concluded with an allusion to the new year: 'And they shall make Me a Sanctuary, and I will dwell among them'; the word 'v'shachanti' (I will dwell) has the numerical value of 5786, that we should merit the building of the third Beis HaMikdash speedily.
'And all the people answered aloud "Amen"', and in turn 'they shall say, Blessed,' the thousands of Jews returned the Rebbe's blessing of a good year, and he too answered Amen to those blessing him, and then wished everyone a good Yom Tov.

After descending, the Rebbe extended a special wish of a good year to the Gaon HaGadol, the Dayan U'Moreh Tzedek shlit"a, and the other rabbonim, and went home to his holy residence.

At around 11:20 the Rebbe entered the pure tish in the Heichal HaShulchanos. Lifting the cup: R' Eli Neustadt.

After Kiddush, the Rebbe cut the round challah with a new knife and dipped it in honey, raw honey. He made the blessing of Ha'etz on apples, dipped in honey, and recited the yehi ratzon that a good and sweet year be renewed upon us, and distributed shirayim of the apples to the entire gathering.

Then a sheep's head was brought in. A portion of the sheep's head was also sent by the Sereda Rebbe shlit"a, from the lamb with which the Rebbe fulfilled the mitzvah of pidyon peter chamor this past Chol HaMoed Pesach, when he served as the Kohen accepting the redemption. The Rebbe recited the yehi ratzon 'that we be the head and not the tail,' and after tasting it, said lechayim and wished everyone 'a good and sweet year, a year blessed well.'
A fish head and the Yom Tov dishes were brought in. In the soup were browned noodles as is customary, and after the meat, sweet carrots were served, and the Rebbe recited the yehi ratzon 'that our merits increase.'

During the tish the Yamim Noraim melodies were sung at length, and for the zemiros and 'L'Dovid Mizmor' the Rebbe honored R' Mendel Gross shlit"a (of Boro Park).

The Rebbe shlit"a said a Torah thought on the verse 'Fortunate is the people who know the teruah,' and explained that Jews throughout the generations endured harsh suffering and through it all remained with complete faith in Hashem; this is a righteous advocate to emerge vindicated on the Day of Judgment.

Monday, Vayeilech, Erev Rosh Hashana — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At dawn, at around 5:25, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered the Beis Medrash HaGadol for the recital of Selichos, "Zechor Bris."
The Rebbe shlit"a led the Selichos as the shliach tzibbur with great fervor, wrapped in the tallis and wearing the kapel of the Divrei Yoel zy"a, brought by R' Moshe Falkowitz.
R' Yaakov Forgacs and R' Akiva Weinstock were honored with the Pesichos. They finished at around 7:40, and the Rebbe went home to his holy residence.

At around 9:45 the Rebbe arrived in the Beis Medrash HaGadol for Shacharis. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- the bochur Yaakov Teller.
- the bochur Mordechai Schorr.

- Pesichah: R' Avrohom Yoshe Katina of London.
- Kohen: R' Yoel son of R' Zalman Leib Friedman.
- Levi: R' Simcha Yisroel Apfel.
- Shlishi: the bar mitzvah bochur Yaakov Teller.
- Hagbah: the Rebbe shlit"a.
- Gelilah: the bar mitzvah bochur Mordechai Schorr.

After davening, the Rebbe recited fifteen chapters of Tehillim and completed Tehillim for the second time, as is customary in the month of Elul. After removing his tefillin, the Rebbe shlit"a performed Hataras Nedarim before a minyan and recited the Mesiras Modaah, thanked them, and wished them a kesiva v'chasima tova.

After Shacharis, the Rebbe paid a shiva call to R' Zelig Zwiebel and his esteemed sons, who are sitting shiva for their son/brother a"h.

At the Rebbe's holy residence, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Tuvia Bardi Kohn, at which the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel. After the bris, the Rebbe drank a lechayim and bestowed of his holy blessings.

Sunday, Parshas Vayeilech — 7th Selichos — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At dawn, at around 5:45, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered the Beis Medrash HaGadol for the recital of Selichos. The baal tefillah was R' Elimelech Shimshon Schwartz. They finished at around 6:25, and the Rebbe went home to his holy residence.

At around 9:50 the Rebbe arrived in the Beis Medrash HaGadol for Shacharis. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- the son of R' Aharon Yaakov Kahana shlit"a.
- the bochur Menachem Zev Feuerstein.
- the bochur Yonah Asher Fried.
After davening, the Rebbe blew shofar and recited fifteen chapters of Tehillim, as is customary during the month of Elul. Afterward, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Rebbe's private room.

After Shacharis, the Rebbe paid a shiva call to R' Shlomo Chaim Fisch, who is sitting shiva for his brother a"h.

Yechidus hours were from 6:50 until 10:30 at night at the Rebbe's holy residence on Ohel Court.

The Rebbe davened Mincha at around 7:30, and Maariv at around 10:30.
