Sunday, "B'tzeil HaKodesh" with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in the Beis Medrash HaGadol. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- The bochur Yosef Yoel Yosha Blumenthal.
- The bochur Avrohom Yosha Wertzberger, son of R' Meir.
- The bochur Yoel Goldstein, son of R' Eliezer.
- The bochur Yoel, son of the bochur Yaakov Yosef Weiss.
After davening, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Rebbe's private room.

In the late morning, around 12:45, the Rebbe shlit"a, in his holy home, tested the hundreds of ninth-grade talmidim from both branches of the Mosdos Kiryas Joel on the entire Maseches Kiddushin, which they learned over the past year. The Rebbe tested the bochurim for an extended time and then warmly wished the menahalim, the rebbeim, and all the bochurim well.

Around 6:45 the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home on Zanz Street.

Entry hours to the Rebbe were from 8:10 until 11:20 at night, in his holy home on Uhel Street.

During the entry hours, askanim of the "Verommemanu" initiative came in to the Rebbe. They devote themselves to distributing excerpts from the divrei Torah of the Rebbe shlit"a over the past year, and especially before the Yamim Tovim, to bring a desire and a joy to a mitzvah, etc. The Rebbe looked over the booklet of excerpts from the past year and the booklet being published in honor of Simchas Torah with the divrei Torah from last Simchas Torah 5785, and warmly wished the askanim that they should be able to continue with the holy work.

Also entering the Rebbe's room was HaRav R' Zalman Leib Kappel, who presented to the Rebbe shlit"a the sefer Minchas Shabsai by the holy Rabbi Shabsai Sheftel Weiss zt"l, Av Beis Din of Shimoni, which has now been printed by his grandchildren after the manuscript was found. A pleasant conversation about the holy Shimoni Rebbe zt"l ensued, and the Rebbe gave him a share of his holy blessing.

The Rebbe davened Maariv around 11:20.

Late at night in his holy home, the Rebbe went over the lists of all the tzedakah being sent out these days on his behalf to various needy people in honor of Yom Tov.

In addition, the Rebbe received a precise report on the campaign that the Rebbe asked the yeshiva talmidim to undertake to raise large sums for the poor of Eretz Yisroel ahead of the big trip at the beginning of the month of Kislev, led by the loyal house bochur, the esteemed Shneur Zalman Eckstein. The Rebbe went over the details of the campaign as it stands, and gave encouragement to proceed with even greater vigor to raise larger sums for the benefit of the poor of Eretz Yisroel.

Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Haazinu — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At about 7:15 the Rebbe entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha.
Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Yoel Ezra Levi. They finished at about 8:45. The congregation went over to wish a gut Shabbos, and the Rebbe went into his private room.

At about 9:15 the Rebbe entered the tish in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with the talmidim of the Yeshivas Ketanos, the Derech HaTorah branch and the Shevil HaTorah branch, and with the bochurim from abroad, guests from Eretz Yisroel and Europe, and began, as is his custom, with Shalom Aleichem with feeling and sweetness.
Eishes Chayil: the Rebbe's grandson, the bochur Naftali Elimelech Teitelbaum, son of the Rebbe's son-in-law HaGaon Rabbi, Rav of the Beirach Moshe beis medrash shlit"a. Hagbahas HaKos: Rabbi Shmuel Low shlit"a, dayan of the Divrei Yoel beis medrash in London.

The Rebbe shlit"a distributed honors for the zemiros.
- Kol Mekadesh: HaRav R' Yoel Offenheim shlit"a, director of the Derech HaTorah yeshiva branch and dayan of our beis medrash in the Zera Kodesh neighborhood.
- Menucha V'Simcha: Rabbi Yoel Neiman shlit"a, director of the Shevil HaTorah yeshiva branch.

The Rebbe said a Torah thought on the verse "Ya'arof kamatar likchi" and explained, in the manner of a derush, the sugya of a mitzvah performed through an aveira.

This week the Rebbe shlit"a related stories about the holy Kozhnitzer Maggid zy"a, whose yahrzeit falls on Erev Sukkos.

On Shabbos morning the Rebbe entered for davening at about 9:40.

For Shacharis the Rebbe approached the amud and sent to lead the chazaras hashatz his grandson Rabbi Lipa Rubin shlit"a, son-in-law of the Rebbe's son-in-law HaGaon Rabbi, Rav of the Beirach Moshe beis medrash shlit"a.

They lingered with Shabbos and Yom Tov nigunim, and the Rebbe distributed honors for the zemiros.

The Rebbe said a Torah thought on the verse "Ya'arof kamatar likchi" and explained that through doing teshuva out of fear on Yom Kippur, Hakadosh Baruch Hu gives a gift of teshuva out of love on Yom Tov Sukkos.

The Rebbe entered for Mincha at about 7:05.

The Rebbe said a Torah thought on the verse "Ya'arof kamatar likchi" and explained that Yom Tov Sukkos bestows that the chassadim that were inscribed on Yom Kippur should be revealed and that people should see the chassadim. He concluded with many brachos that chassadim should descend in which all will rejoice, and that it should be a true "Z'man Simchaseinu" for all of Klal Yisroel.

Maariv on Motzei Shabbos: R' Yosef Hersh Miller. After Havdalah the congregation went over to wish a gutte voch. They finished at about 9:10.

After Havdalah the Rebbe spent an extended time selecting lulavim and hadassim in his holy home for Yom Tov Sukkos.

At about 11:15 a siyum on the writing of a Sefer Torah took place in the Rebbe's holy home, for the Sefer Torah being written by R' Berish Stern, which will be dedicated on Chol Hamoed Sukkos. The Rebbe wrote the final letters, drank a lechayim, and shared of his holy brachos. Afterwards he went to hagbah and danced with the open Sefer Torah, and R' Berish went to gelilah, and the Rebbe continued the dancing.
