Thursday, Parshas Vayeira, "B'tzeil HaKodesh" with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning a bris took place for a newborn son of R' Avrohom Fogel, at which the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in the Yeshiva Gedolah, Brach Moshe branch. During the Torah reading, the Rebbe was called up as the third aliyah. After davening, the Rebbe delivered a Tehillim shiur on chapter 27, verse 4, and in the course of it spoke about the holiness of the holy site of Meron in general and of the Tanna, the Godly R' Shimon bar Yochai in particular. He explained that preparations are being made to be there soon, and expressed hope that something will cling to us, and that we will take the holiness home with us for later.

At around 5:30 the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home on Zanz 144.

After Mincha, the Spinka Beis Yitzchak Rebbe shlit"a came for a visit to the Rebbe shlit"a in his holy home on Zanz, together with his mechutan, the Rachov Ramat Gan Rebbe shlit"a, on the occasion of the wedding of their grandchildren, mazel tov, which took place that evening in the halls of Beis Rochel Paradise. A pleasant conversation ensued about the wedding of the holy Eitz Chaim zy"a. The Rebbe honored them with a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessing upon the chosson, the grandfathers, and the whole family.

In the evening the Rebbe officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the mechutanim.
- R' Shimon Kraus and R' Zalman Leib Glick in the halls of Kinor Dovid.
- Afterwards, at the chuppah of the Spinka-Rachov mechutanim, the chosson, son of the Rachov Ramat Gan Rebbe shlit"a, to the kallah, daughter of HaRav R' Asher Yonah Horowitz shlit"a, in the halls of Beis Rochel Paradise, the Rebbe officiated at the kiddushin and waited until after the chuppah, and offered many blessings to the chosson, the mechutanim, the grandfathers, and the rabbonim and family members present.

The reception hours were from 8:10 until 12:30 at night in his holy home on Ohel 144.

At around 10:45 the Rebbe went down to the tenaim hall and read the tenaim of the mechutanim.
- R' Yoel Goldstein and R' Avrohom Yeshaya Schwartz.
- R' Yoel Peketa and R' Avrohom Shaul Yaakov Friedman.

After the tenaim, the Rebbe davened Maariv, and then continued receiving the public.

During the reception hours, HaRav HaTzaddik R' Shlomo Tzvi Alter shlit"a, son of the Gerrer Rebbe shlit"a, who is spending Shabbos in Kiryas Joel HaMeuchedes together with the orphans of the Gur kehillos of America, came for a visit. A pleasant conversation ensued about the greatness of helping and strengthening orphans, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessing upon him. The Rebbe also sent a greeting of peace to his father, the Gerrer Rebbe shlit"a, and asked that it be conveyed that we greatly admire his stance of not conceding on any bochur regarding the decree of drafting yeshiva students in Eretz Yisroel. Afterwards, all the bochurim went in to receive the holy blessing.

Also entering the inner sanctum were HaGaon Rabbi Anshil Gruber shlit"a, one of the rabbonim of Hisachdus Avreichim of Monsey, together with the patrons of the Chaburas Yesodei HaTorah of Monsey, R' Moshe Yitzchak Landau and R' Yosef Gruber. The Rebbe heard a report on the new learners and shiurim within the framework of Chaburas Yesodei HaTorah, and presented the patrons with a gift of a leather-bound Gemara, Maseches Bava Kama, and bestowed his holy blessings.

Also in the inner sanctum, the reading of the tenaim of the mechutanim took place, R' Dovid Leib Acker (London) and R' Zalman Leib Spitzer. The Rebbe read the tenaim, drank a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessing.

After the reception hours, several leading askanim for the future of pure chinuch in New York entered the inner sanctum in his holy home on Zanz 144, as they went over further plans in the battle to save pure chinuch in New York. The Rebbe heard a precise report on the situation on the front in the courthouse, and they discussed the next steps, and especially the massive campaign being undertaken to sign against the "class action" lawsuit that the wicked ones filed in court in the name of all observant Jews. Therefore it must be made clear, with strongly united strength, that they do not represent us in any way, but on the contrary, they seek to uproot our Torah and change our entire way of life, Heaven forbid. The Rebbe thoroughly reviewed the entire text, and warmly wished the askanim success in this

critical undertaking, and that they merit saving pure chinuch in New York so that we can continue just as until now without any change.

Wednesday, Parshas Vayeira — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning a bris was held for a baby boy born to R' Yechezkel Shraga Brach, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in the Yeshiva Gedolah, Yoel Moshe branch. After davening, the Rebbe learned the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 27, verse 3.

During the morning hours, the Rebbe addressed, via a hookup, the talmidim of our holy yeshivos in Eretz Yisroel, Yerushalayim and Bnei Brak, in advance of the uplifting trip, b'ezras Hashem, to the holy site of Meron, may it be rebuilt.
The Rebbe explained that for a physical matter one prepares with physical means, and for a spiritual matter with spiritual means, and in this way one can benefit from the Tanna, Rabbi Shimon, later as well. The Rebbe urged them not to be occupied with any foolishness and receptions and the like, but rather to prepare themselves with Torah study, and in this way be able to receive the holy influences that Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai bestows. The Rebbe concluded with his holy blessing.

In the afternoon, the Rebbe went up to the yeshiva, Yoel Moshe branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa, one of the yeshiva's talmidim, in his private room. At around 5:30 the Rebbe davened Mincha in the yeshiva.

In the evening, the Rebbe officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppahs of the mechutanim:
- HaRav R' Chaim Elazar Teller shlit"a and HaRav R' Mordechai Shmuel Kaufman shlit"a, in the Kinor David hall.
- R' Yoel Chaim and R' Yehuda Nesanel Mascher, in the Beis Rachel Paradise hall.
- R' Yoel Paskes and R' Avrohom Aharon Yakobovitch, in the Ginas Klein hall.

After the chuppahs, at around 8:10, the Rebbe went over to the home of the prominent member of the kehilla R' Chaim Shlomo Fisher for the tenaim celebration of his daughter, the kallah, to the chasan, son of HaGaon Rabbi Aryeh Asher Indig shlit"a, dayan and moreh d'asra of the Beis Medrash Maharsha.
A lengthy conversation ensued about the holiness of the holy site of Meron and many customs, stories and miracles that exist in Meron to this very day, when Jews are helped literally beyond the natural order. The Rebbe said that sincere Jews always have a longing to travel to Rabbi Shimon, and one hears further from tzaddikim that it is clear where Rabbi Shimon is calling one to come, and how does one know that Rabbi Shimon is calling? When one sees that one has a strong longing to travel.
The Rebbe read the tenaim, drank a lechayim, and bestowed his holy blessing. The Rebbe left the home at around 8:55.

Visiting hours with the Rebbe shlit"a were from 9:00 until 12:30 at night, at his holy residence on Ohel Court.

At around 10:15 the Rebbe went down to the tenaim hall and read the tenaim of the mechutanim:
- HaRav R' Yoel Malik shlit"a and R' Yaakov Aharon Shlomo Weill.
- R' Berel Stein and R' Moshe Bernatta.

During the visiting hours, the Sieka Rebbe shlit"a came for a visit with the Rebbe shlit"a. A pleasant conversation ensued, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessing upon him.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 10:30 and afterwards continued receiving the public.

Tuesday, Parshas Vayeira, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the morning, the brissim took place.
- For the newborn son of R' Mordechai Yosef Herskowitz, at which the Rebbe served as sandek.
- For the newborn son of R' Meir Dovid Masri (of Williamsburg), at which the Rebbe served as sandek.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in Yeshiva Gedolah, the Eitz Chaim branch, Shiur Gimmel. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim.
- The bochur Yissachar Dov Farkash.
- The bochur Shmuel Dovid Markowitz.
- The bochur Eliyahu Reuven Sapdi.

After davening, the Rebbe learned the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 27, verse 4. Afterwards, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the heichal of the beis medrash.

At around 1:45, the Rebbe arrived at the main beis medrash for the gathering of the opening-of-the-zman address for close to 1,500 choice bochurim, may they live, from the 7 branches of the Mesivta.
The Rebbe began with extended words of drush and aggada on the weekly parsha and on the yeshiva's shiurim in Maseches Bava Basra, and in this context repeated the question that the Rebbe had left for the baalei batim at the siyum of half of Shas by the Yesodei HaTorah chaburah in Maseches Bava Kamma.
Afterwards, the Rebbe strengthened the yeshiva's takanah to fully dedicate oneself to all matters and not to go to weddings. He continued on the holy customs at a chuppah, whose foundation is in the holy mountains, and that everything done at a chuppah is a holy minhag which may not be altered or added to. He strongly urged the bochurim not to be dragged along by the American street, which wants to turn the chuppah into a wedding ceremony, and especially regarding singing or filming at a chuppah, which was not seen in previous generations, even if the melodies are good, but it does not belong at a chuppah, and a chuppah must remain as it was in the past. He concluded with abundant blessings for all the talmidim of the yeshiva. It ended at around 2:30.

In the afternoon, the Rebbe went up to the Yeshiva branch Kedushas Yoel, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the talmidim of the yeshiva in his private room. At around 5:30, the Rebbe davened Mincha in the yeshiva.

In the evening, the Rebbe traveled to Williamsburg for the weekly reception hours.
The reception hours were from 8:00 until 12:40 after midnight at his holy residence on Hewes St.

During the reception hours, a lechayim celebration was held in honor of the engagement of the kallah, the daughter of R' Berl Perlstein of Boro Park. Present were the administration of the Toras'cha Sha'ashuai chaburah, in honor of the tremendous donation of R' Berl to cover the previous session of Toras'cha Sha'ashuai in Boro Park. A pleasant conversation took place about the beis medrash benches that were added in Boro Park through the Toras'cha Sha'ashuai chaburah. The Rebbe drank lechayim and bestowed his holy blessing.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 10:30 and then continued receiving the public.

Late at night, a brief meeting was held with the administration of the Yesodei HaTorah chaburah, where the list of 2,000 new members who had just joined the chaburah was brought before the Rebbe, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessings upon them to increase Torah and glorify it.

Monday, Parshas Vayeira — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Divrei Yoel branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim.
- The bochur Yosha Hersh Glick.
- The bochur Dovid Chaim Tzvi Malach.

During the Torah reading, the Rebbe went up for hagbah. After davening, he recited the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 27, verse 3. Afterwards, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room.

The Rebbe also distributed certificates to the bochurim of Tzionim who were tested on the entire Maseches Shabbos, which was learned in the yeshiva last year.

In the afternoon, the Rebbe went up to the Divrei Yoel branch of the yeshiva, where he learned with a chavrusa from among the talmidim of the yeshiva in his private room.
Upon arriving at the yeshiva, the Rebbe first entered the beis medrash and looked over the expanded Heichal of the beis medrash, which was enlarged in recent days due to the increase in the number of talmidim.
At around 5:30, the Rebbe davened Mincha in the yeshiva.

In the evening, the Rebbe officiated at kiddushin at the chuppah of the mechutanim:
- R' Avrohom Leib Klein and R' Yoel Berish Zaldan, in the halls of Kinor Dovid.
- R' Avrohom Yitzchak Tabak and R' Yoel Bri Yaakov, in the halls of Beis Rachel Paradise.

The times for entering for a private audience were from 8:00 until 11:45 at night, at his holy home on Ohel Court.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 9:00, and then continued receiving the public.

After Maariv, a ceremony of writing the letters took place for the Sefer Torah being written by R' Yaakov Yuda Gafen, which will be brought in this coming Thursday, Chayei Sarah, at Beis Medrash Avodas Aharon in the Jefferson neighborhood of Kiryas Joel HaMuchavas. The Rebbe wrote in several letters, drank a lechayim, and bestowed his holy blessing.

At around 9:45, the Rebbe went down to the tenaim hall in his holy home, where the Rebbe read the tenaim of the mechutanim:
- Rabbi Avrohom Simcha Gottlieb shlit"a and R' Mordechai Mendel Gutman.
- Rabbi Shalom Bramtz Goldman shlit"a and Rabbi Moshe Shmuel Rubinfeld shlit"a.

During the times for entering for an audience, HaGaon Rabbi Moshe Rosenfeld shlit"a, dayan and moreh tzedek of Beis Medrash Berach Moshe of our kehilla, entered together with members of the board of Kollel Shomrei HaChomos, who invited the Rebbe shlit"a to give a shiur at the Kesav Sofer beis medrash in Yerushalayim, the holy city, during the Rebbe's holy trip to Eretz Yisroel, IY"H, in the coming Parshas Toldos. A pleasant conversation took place about the visits of our holy rabbeim, the Divrei Yoel and the Beirach Moshe zy"a, in that historic beis medrash over the years, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessing upon them.

Sunday, Parshas Vayeira — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning a bris was held for the newborn son of R' Meir Friedman, at which the Rebbe served as sandek.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Kedushas Yoel branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- the bochur Avrohom Eliyahu Friedrich.
- the bochur Yoel Eliyahu Glick.
- the bochur Yitzchak Hersh Spielman, may he live and be well.
- the bochur Dovid Menashe Kraus.

After davening, the Rebbe led the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 27, verse 3. Afterwards a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Rebbe's private room.

After Shacharis, the Rebbe went to visit the matzah bakery of Kiryas Joel, which began massive production last week in preparation for Pesach, IY"H, in order to meet the demand for the mehudar "Kiryas Joel matzos." The Rebbe looked around the entire bakery and heard a report on this year's fresh innovations from R' Yoel Shlomo Zaldan, manager of the bakery, and R' Dovid Eckstein of Eretz Yisroel.
The Rebbe then looked over the newly built wing, which was added this year to expand production for the benefit of the community, affixed a mezuzah, and bestowed his holy blessing.

Around 1:10 the Rebbe went to affix a mezuzah at the new mikvah in the Divrei Chaim neighborhood in the expanded Kiryas Joel. The Rebbe affixed a mezuzah, then went inside and looked over all the facilities and hiddurim, and heard a detailed report from the leading askanim of the committee for expanding the city's boundaries.
The Rebbe then walked over to a lechayim gathering at the home of R' Hershel Levy, donor of the land for the mikvah and member of the committee for expanding the city's boundaries, and looked on with satisfaction at the expansion of the holy city limits within the neighborhood. Also present was his father, HaGaon Rabbi Baruch Levy shlit"a, rav of the Binyan Ariel beis medrash in Amsterdam. HaGaon Rabbi Yoel Halberstam shlit"a, rav of our beis medrash Beis Shmuel in the Divrei Chaim neighborhood, spoke on behalf of the neighborhood's residents, as did R' Dovid Eckstein of Eretz Yisroel.
The Rebbe drank a lechayim, bestowed his holy blessing, and delivered words of Torah on the importance of donating money toward a mikvah. He told several stories about the importance of a mikvah, first about the Baal HaHilula, the holy Meor Einayim zy"a, who sold his share in the World to Come in order to build a mikvah, and then several stories about Tzanz and Shinova. He praised the donors of the mikvah, which cost a million and a half dollars, particularly the donor of the land, R' Hershel. He concluded with abundant blessings for all the donors, wishing that they all merit the World to Come and this world and all good things.
Afterwards several nigunim were sung, and the gathering ended around 1:45.

In the afternoon the Rebbe went up to the Yeshiva, Beirach Moshe branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the yeshiva's students in his private room. Around 5:30 the Rebbe davened Mincha in the yeshiva.

In the evening the Rebbe officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppahs of the mechutanim:
- R' Chizkiyahu Tzvi Buchinger and R' Yehoshua Yitzchak Fürtha, in the halls of Kinor Dovid.
- R' Nosson Meir Lichtenstein and HaGaon R' Meir Yaakov Moskowitz z"l, in the halls of Beis Rachel Paradise.

Yechidus hours were from 7:50 until 11:30 at night at the Rebbe's holy home on Ohel Court.

Around 9:45 the Rebbe went down to the tenaim hall in his holy home, where the Rebbe read the tenaim of the mechutanim:
- R' Meir Falkowitz and R' Yitzchak Bernath.
- HaGaon R' Shlomo Yoel Maskowitz shlit"a, moreh tzedek in our holy kehilla in Williamsburg, and R' Nechemia Wertzberger.

During yechidus hours, the bochur Gershon, son of R' Yoel Frankel (Williamsburg), was tested by the Rebbe shlit"a on a thousand blatt of Gemara.

The Rebbe davened Maariv around 11:30.
