Thursday, Parshas Chayei Sarah, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Chaim Avrohom Kessler, at which the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in Yeshiva Gedolah, the Barach Moshe branch.
Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- the bochur Shmuel Yuda Stein.
- the bochur Baruch Avrohom Rosenfeld.

During the Torah reading, the Rebbe went to be hagbah. After davening, he recited the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 27, verse 4. Afterward, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room.

At about 2:15, the Rebbe arrived at Heichal HaMesivta, the Divrei Yoel branch, where a "Tzeischem L'Sholom" farewell gathering took place in honor of the Rebbe shlit"a, on the occasion of his departure on the uplifting trip to Eretz Yisroel on Motzei Shabbos.
Several nigunim were sung, and special verses composed for the occasion were sung. Then HaGaon Rabbi Simcha Sholom Steinberger shlit"a, rav of Beis Medrash Divrei Chaim and a rebbi in the yeshiva, spoke, expressing the bond between the Rebbe shlit"a and the talmidim of the yeshiva, and then presented the Rebbe shlit"a with a collective kvitel from all the talmidim of the mesivta. The Rebbe read through the kvitel for an extended time while the bochurim sang stirring nigunim.
The Rebbe drank a lechayim and blessed the rebbeim and talmidim of the yeshiva. He shared a Torah thought on the verse "I am on the way, Hashem has led me," and expressed with deep emotion how one prepares to travel for Shabbos to the holy site of Meron together with the members of the kehilla living in Eretz Yisroel and with the participation of the members of the kehilla from abroad. "Trembling and fear have seized us" because of the greatness of the holiness of the place, and how one can merit to come to such a holy place. However, we take strength that through the trait of kindness that is done for the poor of Eretz Yisroel, in that merit we will be able to approach the holy place. He also thanked the bochurim who went collecting money and who will surely merit all good. The Rebbe continued and said that, b'ezras Hashem, he will place the collective kvitel at the holy resting place, with the talmidim of the yeshiva in mind in Meron. He then asked the bochurim to exert themselves in learning for extended hours during the two weeks that he will be in Eretz Yisroel, and to make sure there is no laxity in the yeshiva's learning. Through the holy Torah one can connect to the Divine Tanna Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai and ask for all good for us, "from there, and you from here." He then spoke at length in praise of the devout public traveling to Meron, chassidic young men traveling to the holy site of Rabbi Shimon in Meron with seriousness and elevation. "Know before Whom you are entering," before a flaming fire. It is a place from which holy influences flow, spiritually and materially, and we hope to be a messenger to carry the requests there and a messenger to receive and bring home all the good influences for each and every one. He concluded with abundant blessings.

Afterward, all the bochurim who had collected larger sums at the Rebbe's request for the "Rebbe's Fund for the Poor of Eretz Yisroel" had the opportunity to hand over the sums personally, together with a private kvitel that the Rebbe will take with him to Meron. The Rebbe then went into his private room, where he distributed shirayim from the Sukkah decorations to all the bochurim who had brought in larger sums, and warmly gave his holy blessing to the askanim of the campaign.
The Rebbe then davened Mincha in the Heichal HaYeshiva, and after Mincha the talmidim of the yeshiva escorted the Rebbe shlit"a with song and music. It concluded at about 3:30.

In the evening, the Rebbe officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the mechutanim R' Yitzchak Eizik Kraus and R' Yoshe Bickel in the halls of Kinor Dovid.

Yechidus hours at his holy residence on Ohel Court were from 8:40 until 1:15 after midnight.

At about 10:30, the Rebbe went to the tenaim hall and read the tenaim of the mechutanim:
- R' Alexander Nachum Gottlieb and R' Dovid Leibush Jacobowitz.
- R' Yoel Landau, son of R' Menachem Binyomin, and R' Naftoli Yosef Weiss.

During yechidus hours, HaGaon Rabbi Avrohom Yaffe Schlesinger shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Geneva and rav of Beis Medrash Betzel HaChochma in the holy city of Yerushalayim, came for a visit. A pleasant conversation ensued, and the Rebbe honored him with a lechayim, bestowed his holy blessing upon him, and gave him his sefer Lev Aharon.

Also entering for yechidus was Rabbi Menachem Mendel Chitrik shlit"a, rav of the Ashkenazi community in Istanbul, Turkey, and vice president of the Association of Rabbis in Islamic Countries. A pleasant conversation ensued about Jewish life in the Arab countries, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessing upon him.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at about 11:30 and then continued receiving the public.

Wednesday, Parshas Chayei Sarah, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in Yeshiva Gedolah, the Yoel Moshe branch. After davening, the Rebbe learned the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 27, verse 4.

During the morning hours, the Rebbe went on his weekly visit to the mehudar slaughterhouse.

At around 5:30, the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home on Zanz Street, Kiryas Joel.

In the evening, the Rebbe officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the mechutanim:
- R' Yeshaya Shabsi Brach and R' Yisroel Elimelech Weissman, in the Kinor David halls.
- R' Moshe Yitzchak Glick and R' Avrohom Chanoch Aharon Rosenberg, in the Beis Rachel Paradise halls.

The reception hours with the Rebbe were from 8:30 until 12:45 after midnight, in his holy home on Uhel Street, Kiryas Joel.

During the reception hours, HaRav HaTzaddik R' Yitzchak Twersky shlit"a, son of the Skver Rebbe shlit"a, paid a visit to the Rebbe to receive his holy blessing in honor of the simcha of the marriage of his youngest daughter, mazel tov, which will take place this coming Monday, Parshas Vayeitzei, in Skver. A pleasant conversation ensued, and the Rebbe gave him of his holy blessing.

The Rebbe of Rachov, Ramat Gan shlit"a, also paid a visit to the Rebbe. A pleasant conversation ensued, the Rebbe honored him with a lechayim and gave him of his holy blessing.

At around 10:15, the Rebbe went down to the tenaim hall, where the Rebbe read the tenaim of the mechutanim HaGaon Rabbi Yosha Zalman Wertzberger shlit"a and R' Yitzchak Friedman.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 11:30 and afterwards continued to receive the public.

Tuesday, Parshas Chayei Sarah — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning a bris for a newborn son took place at R' Nesanel Braun, at which the Rebbe served as sandek.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in the Yeshiva Gedolah, minyan 4. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- the bochur Shmuel Sofer
- the bochur Baruch Mordechai Goldberger
- the bochur Kalman Gefen
- the bochur Yaakov Yitzchak Winkler

After davening, the Rebbe recited the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 27, verse 4. Afterwards, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the heichal of the beis medrash.

In the afternoon hours, a bris for a newborn son took place at R' Chaim Mendel Acker, in the home of his father-in-law, R' Shlomo Rubinstein, where the Rebbe served as sandek. A lechayim gathering followed, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessing.

Around 5:30 the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home on Zanz Court, Kiryas Joel.

In the evening, the Rebbe traveled to Williamsburg for the weekly zmanei kenisa (receiving hours).

Upon arriving in Williamsburg, the Rebbe went up to the home of the askan R' Yosef Menczer on the occasion of his son's wedding, mazel tov. A pleasant conversation took place, the Rebbe drank a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessing.

The zmanei kenisa in Kiryas Joel ran from 8:40 until 1:10 after midnight, in his holy home on Hughes St.

During the zmanei kenisa, the Rebbe shlit"a was visited in Kiryas Joel by his mechutan, HaGaon Rabbi Menashe Meyer shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Greenville. A pleasant conversation took place about the expansion of the boundaries of kedusha in Greenville; the Rebbe honored him with a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessing.

Also visiting Kiryas Joel was HaGaon Rabbi Sinai Halberstam shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Zanz Shikun Gimmel, Bnei Brak. A pleasant conversation took place on the matter of machine matzos, and the Rebbe honored him with a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessing.

HaGaon R' Tzvi Elimelech Rokeach shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Borough Park Flatbush, also entered Kiryas Joel together with his son, the chosson, to receive the Rebbe's blessing on the occasion of his son's wedding, mazel tov, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessing upon him.

During the zmanei kenisa, a signing of documents took place, in which R' Wolf Stern, one of the prominent members of the community in Linden, purchased the merit of the mikvah in our new beis medrash in Linden. A pleasant conversation took place about the expansion of the boundaries of kedusha of our holy kehilla in Linden. The Rebbe signed the documents together with the donor, drank a lechayim, and bestowed his holy blessing upon the donor and his family, upon the Rav of our Linden kehilla shlit"a, and upon the kehilla's administration.

HaGaon Rabbi Moshe Shmuel Rottenberg shlit"a, son of the HaGaon, Av Beis Din of Salka Monsey shlit"a, also entered Kiryas Joel together with his son, the chosson, to receive the Rebbe's blessing on the occasion of his son's wedding, mazel tov, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessing upon him.

Afterwards, HaGaon Rabbi Yoel Zusman Horowitz shlit"a, Rav of Kehal Toldos Tzvi of Spinka in Boro Park, son of the Toldos Tzvi of Spinka Rebbe shlit"a and chairman of the Vaad Shemen Mishchas Kodesh at the holy site of Meron, entered. The Rebbe inquired about the vaad's activities to strengthen the standards of tznius in Meron, and bestowed his holy blessing.

The Rebbe davened Maariv around 11:30 and then continued receiving the public.

After Maariv, the Skulen Yeshuos Yaakov Rebbe shlit"a visited Kiryas Joel. A pleasant conversation took place about the Chesed L'Avraham institution, Meron branch, and the Skulen Rebbe shlit"a invited the Rebbe shlit"a to visit the institution while staying in Meron for Shabbos Kodesh. The Skulen Rebbe shlit"a then handed the Rebbe shlit"a a kvitel to take along to Meron, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessing upon him.

Afterwards, a group of bochurim, students of the Yeshiva for Youngsters of Williamsburg, entered the Rebbe's room and presented larger sums that they had collected for the Rebbe's fund for the poor of Eretz Yisroel, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessing upon them.

HaGaon R' Yeshaya Lichtenstein shlit"a, one of the rabbanim of the Beis Horaah of our Williamsburg kehilla, also entered Kiryas Joel together with the administration of the Beis Horaah, and showed the Rebbe the new pamphlet that he published on the Rebbe's instruction ahead of the holy trip to Eretz Yisroel. The Rebbe reviewed the pamphlet, noted precisely where it was written according to his holy instruction, and bestowed his holy blessing.

Likewise, the administration of the building fund of the new and magnificent beis medrash in Bnei Brak, may it be protected, entered Kiryas Joel and presented a report on the construction work in the beis medrash, which is being finished beautifully and magnificently in these very days.
