Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Tazria-Metzora — 2 Iyar — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a — for rest and rejuvenation at the guest residence of the philanthropist R' Yechezkel Dovid Berkowitz, in a quiet area of Kiryas Joel Expanded

On Erev Shabbos afternoon at around 3:00, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a recited Birchas HaIlanos in the yard of R' Avrohom Leib Brach, for a speedy recovery.

On Friday night at around 8:15, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash of the guest residence wrapped in his tallis, where a close-knit group of local residents, together with a select few mekarvim and prominent members of the kehilla, had been davening throughout Shabbos, and the Rebbe proceeded to Mincha. Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Yoel Weinberger (of Williamsburg). It ended at around 9:35, and the congregants passed by to wish a good Shabbos.

The Rebbe shlit"a conducted the Shabbos meal in a private room in the guest residence. At around 11:30 the door was opened for the zemiros and Divrei Torah.
The Rebbe shlit"a honored the following with the zemiros:
- Kol Mekadesh: HaGaon Rabbi Shlomo Yaakov Herman shlit"a, dayan of Beis Medrash Ohel Bsiyah, Kiryas Joel.

The Rebbe shlit"a delivered a Torah discourse on the verse "And on the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised," [explaining] that Iyov's mind was not at ease until he reached the parsha of "When a woman conceives," and explained at greater length a discourse on the sugya of the acquisition of fruits as the acquisition of the body.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis at the guest house. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:

Monday, Parshas Tazria-Metzora – 26 Nissan – the yahrzeit hilula of the holy Rebbe, the Beirach Moshe zy"a – 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the morning, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Gershon Schwartz, at which the Rebbe served as sandek.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in the Beis Medrash HaGadol together with hundreds of chassidim and yeshiva bochurim.
Before davening, the Rebbe lit candles in honor of the holy hilula.
Afterward, the Rebbe put on tefillin for the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Pinchas Yochanan Rotter.
The Rebbe approached the amud with great hislahavus.

The Rebbe's grandson, the young Yechezkel Shraga T.B., son of HaGaon Rabbi Yisroel Shalom shlit"a, Rav of the Beis Medrash, approached for Tehillim.

After davening, a lechayim gathering took place before going up to the holy Ohel. Inspiring melodies were sung. The Rebbe made a siyum on the Six Orders of Mishnah and recited Kaddish, drank lechayim, and blessed the entire gathering. He delivered a message, saying that we are already standing at the twentieth yahrzeit, twenty years have already passed – an entire generation since the passing – and he brought out the endeavors of the holy Rebbe, the hilula's honoree zy"a, in spreading Yiddishkeit, and particularly his efforts in spreading Torah throughout all his years: in Keretzki, Satu Mare, immediately after the war, and all the years in America, both for bochurim and for yungerleit, and likewise his efforts to establish fresh dayanim and poskim. He concluded with the blessing, 'May his merit protect us and all Israel.'

After the lechayim gathering, at around 12:50, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a went up to the holy Ohel together with thousands of chassidim and yeshiva students. Upon arriving at the cemetery, the Rebbe recited the blessing, entered the holy Ohel, lit five candles along with a neshama candle, and recited the prayer Shalom Aleichem attributed to the Yismach Moshe zy"a.
The Rebbe davened as baal tefillah, recited the chapters of Tehillim from 90 through 107 as is customary, recited the Yehi Ratzon and Kaddish, then learned Mishnayos and recited Kaddish D'Rabbanan. While the Rebbe read the kvitlach, the inspiring melodies that used to be sung in the beis medrash of the holy Rebbe, the hilula's honoree, were sung. Afterward, the Rebbe prostrated himself on the holy grave for an extended time. They concluded at around 1:40.

In the afternoon at around 2:15, a bris took place in his holy home for the newborn son of R' Elisha Yoel Rosenfeld, at which the Rebbe served as sandek. After the bris a lechayim gathering took place; the Rebbe blessed the father and his family, and the shamash, HaRav R' Yoel Kaufman, recited the customary Mi Sheberach.

In the evening at around 8:05, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered for Mincha in the Beis Medrash HaGadol. Before davening the Rebbe lit five candles and approached the amud.

After Mincha, at around 8:30, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a washed for the pure table and the hilula seudah.
After washing, the Rebbe made a siyum on Shas and recited Kaddish. After the fish course, the Rebbe wished lechayim to the entire gathering with 'May his merit protect us and all Israel,' and they continued with melodies of deveikus and longing that used to be sung in the beis medrash of the holy Rebbe, the hilula's honoree zy"a.
For Michtam L'Dovid, the Rebbe honored HaGaon Rabbi Baruch Weiss shlit"a, Rav of the Kenizsa Beis Medrash, one of the students of the hilula's honoree.

At around 9:35, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a began the holy words and the message of the hour, and based himself on the verse 'When a woman conceives and gives birth to a male.' A tzaddik who influences other Jews has the promise of 'Whoever brings merit to the many, no sin comes through him.' He discussed this at length in the teachings of the hilula's honoree zy"a, and elaborated on his greatness and righteousness in the three pillars of the world, his many endeavors in all areas, his diligence in Torah and spreading Torah among his students, and his warm prayers, emerging from a pure heart and entering hearts, the war of Hashem against the impurity of Zionism, and his holy prayers which he davened for Jewish children who came under his shelter seeking a salvation. He effected salvations for Jewish children. Just as he stood and served here, so too there in the upper world he stands and serves and prays for us and for all Israel.
Afterward, the Rebbe continued on matters on the agenda, particularly regarding the sanctity of the city of Kiryas Joel for the students and chassidim of our holy Rebbes zy"a. The Rebbe's uncle z"l stands on guard, and he was very strict about anyone who takes action to introduce residents with other outlooks, even if they are G-d-fearing in other matters. "And I want to warn everyone who has a part in this: Beware of his coals!" And I ask, who does not fear his strictness? He praised the 'Kiryas Joel Fund' and the batei medrash in all the neighborhoods of greater Kiryas Joel, which elevate the sanctity of the place. He urged holding firm to the apartment prices in Kiryas Joel with full strength and vigor. For the entire Brooklyn chassidic community, hundreds of apartments are being built at the price of only $200 per square foot!!! in the city and mother in Israel, Monticello.
The Rebbe continued about strengthening Mosdos Yatev Lev, saying: 'The deveikus of our people to the Rebbe's uncle z"l, the founder of the mosdos, and to the Rebbe's father z"l, depends on the connection they have to Mosdos Yatev Lev!' Afterward he spoke about supporting Kollel Eitz Chaim in Eretz Yisroel, the difficult situation in Eretz Yisroel both regarding the war and regarding the decree of drafting yeshiva students, and concluded with his holy blessing.

For Birkas Hamazon, the Rebbe honored his brother, HaGaon Rabbi, Rav of our kehilla in Boro Park, shlit"a.
They concluded at around 10:25.
A few minutes later, the Rebbe entered for Maariv in the main hall of the Beis Medrash. Baal tefillah: HaRav R' Avrohom Moshe Lebovitch. The Rebbe approached the amud for Sefiras HaOmer.

Sunday, Parshas Tazria-Metzora, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the morning, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Lipa Kaufman, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in the great beis medrash. Before davening, the Rebbe lit candles in honor of the hilula kadisha of the holy Divrei Chaim of Sanz zy"a.
Afterward, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- The bochur Simcha Yisroel Appel.
- The bochur Yechezkel Kraus.
- The bochur Michel Weingarten.
- The bochur Moshe Chaim Wieder.
- The bochur Moshe Dana.

After davening, a grand lechayim gathering took place in the Polish hall in honor of the yahrzeit. The Rebbe drank lechayim, wished the bar mitzvah bochurim and the entire gathering well, and told stories of holy matters for an extended time.

After Shacharis, the Rebbe went to the home of R' Shalom Yoel Fried, where the brisos of his twin sons were held; the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel. After the brisos, a lechayim gathering took place, and a pleasant conversation ensued. The Rebbe drank lechayim and imparted of his holy blessing. HaRav R' Moshe Yosef Friedlander recited the Mi Sheberach as is customary.

Around 7:45 the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy residence. Before Mincha, the Rebbe lit candles in honor of the yahrzeit of the holy Sanzer Rav zy"a.

Reception hours in the Rebbe's holy residence on Ohel Court were from 8:45 until 2:20 after midnight.

During the reception hours, HaGaon HaTzaddik R' Mordechai Eisen shlit"a, the Lizhensk Rebbe of Boro Park, paid a visit to the Rebbe. A pleasant conversation ensued about the recent Shabbosos and gatherings the Lizhensk Rebbe shlit"a held in the yeshivos ketanos in Kiryas Joel, and the Rebbe imparted of his holy blessing to him.

Also entering were R' Shmuel Shlomo Teller shlit"a and R' Yitzchak Mittelman shlit"a, publishers of the sefer 'U'Moshe Hayah Roeh', volume 1, on the occasion of the reprinting of the sefarim in honor of the twentieth yahrzeit of the Beirach Moshe zy"a. A pleasant conversation ensued, and the Rebbe examined for an extended time the newly added chapters in the sefer and related fresh memories of his father, the holy Rebbe zy"a, and imparted of his holy blessing.

Also entering were bochurim who are askanim of the 'Legion of the King' group, with good resolutions regarding technology. The Rebbe blessed the coins that will be distributed to the hundreds of bochurim who are part of the group, imparted of his holy blessing, and distributed coins to the group's askanim.

The Rebbe davened Maariv around 12:50. The Rebbe lit candles and went up to the amud in honor of the yahrzeit of his father, the holy Rebbe zy"a, and after Maariv continued receiving the public.

Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Shemini — Mevorchim Chodesh Iyar, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At about 8:10 the Rebbe entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha. Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Yaakov Yosef Filipp.
It concluded at about 9:40. The congregation went over to wish a gut Shabbos, and the Rebbe went home to his holy residence.

At about 12:00 the Rebbe entered the tish in the main beis medrash, north side, and began, as is his custom, with "Shalom Aleichem" with feeling and sweetness.
The challos were shaped like a key, as is customary. In the soup there were kneidlach, and matzah was served, as is customary between Pesach and Shavuos.

The Rebbe shlit"a honored the following with the zemiros.

The Rebbe approached the amud for Musaf in honor of the hilula kadisha of his father, the Beirach Moshe zy"a, on 26 Nissan.

After a few minutes the Rebbe entered the festive Kiddush Rabba in the north-side hall of the beis medrash. The Rebbe made Kiddush and tasted mezonos and fish. Joyous melodies were sung, and the baal simcha, Rabbi Moshe Meisels shlit"a, spoke.
The Rebbe drank lechayim and warmly wished the baal simcha, his father-in-law the Av Beis Din and Rav of the Avnei Tzedek beis medrash shlit"a, and the entire congregation mazel tov. He delivered words of Torah and brought out that if one is involved in being fruitful and multiplying, thereby showing concern for the continuity of the world, Hashem too conducts Himself toward him in the same way, showing concern for the continuity of the world and bestowing good blessings. The Rebbe concluded with his holy blessing. It concluded at about 1:00.

In the afternoon at about 6:55 the Rebbe entered the beis medrash for Pirkei Avos. The Rebbe began with Perek 1, Mishnah 1, "All of Israel have a share in the World to Come," and with the Midrash "The sea saw and fled," and explained many approaches in the manner of derush and aggadah. He then continued with words of mussar, saying that Klal Yisroel has the status of holiness and must conduct themselves as befits holiness even when it is difficult, particularly regarding davening early on Friday night at the proper time, regarding coming dressed in a bekishe at the Shabbos seudos, and wearing a kittel at the Seder and on Yom Kippur. He concluded with abundant blessings and said that we are still in the month of Nissan, and we hope that "in Nissan they were redeemed and in Nissan they will be redeemed in the future." It concluded at about 7:50 and the Rebbe went into his private room.

The Rebbe entered for Mincha at about 8:15.

The Rebbe said Torah on the verse "This is the thing that Hashem has commanded you to do," and explained that just as a mikvah purifies in a single moment even from a tumah that has lasted a long time, so too Hashem purifies Yisroel, and when a Jew has a genuine thought of teshuva, Hashem purifies him from all the aveiros he has done. Even if one sins again, chas v'shalom, even several times, Hashem purifies him again when he does teshuva. One must not let himself be talked into despair by the yetzer hara, who tries to persuade that one is already lost; rather, one must strengthen himself and know that there is always a way out, in any situation in which one finds himself.

On Motzei Shabbos, in the Rebbe's holy residence, a meeting took place with the committee for the expansion of the borders of Kiryas Joel. They discussed the wide-ranging spiritual efforts to expand the borders of holiness in all the neighborhoods of greater Kiryas Joel, and the surplus of apartments for sale in all those areas, which is causing local apartment prices to fall below the $250 per square foot benchmark.

Also entering the Rebbe was a delegation from the kehilla and mosdos haTorah in the town of Monticello, who showed the Rebbe the beautiful way of life, both materially and spiritually, of the nearly one hundred current residents of Monticello, and the final permits for the more than 300 new, magnificent apartments that have now begun construction, at very low prices (under $200 per square foot), for new residents from among chassidim across greater New York who are seeking to move there soon. The Rebbe inquired about various details and bestowed his holy blessing.
