Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Eikev — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

Before candle lighting, the Rebbe put on the shtreimel for the chosson Hershel, son of R' Dovid Chanani Weiss shlit"a.

On Friday night at around 8:50 the Rebbe entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha.
- Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Yaakov Yosef Filaf.
They finished at around 10:20. An appeal took place for the holy institution Keren Hatzalah for the mosdos of the Eidah HaChareidis in Eretz Yisroel. Afterwards the congregation went over to wish a good Shabbos, and the Rebbe went home to his holy residence.

At around 11:20 the Rebbe entered the pure tish in the Heichal HaMesivta together with the yeshiva students, and began, as is his custom, with Shalom Aleichem with feeling and sweetness.
- Eishes Chayil: a grandson of the Rebbe, the bochur Yoel Dushinsky, son of the Rebbe's son-in-law, HaGaon HaTzaddik, rav of Beis Medrash Ohel Feiga shlit"a.

Afterwards the Rebbe honored his brother-in-law, HaGaon HaTzaddik, the Av Beis Din of Montreal shlit"a, to say divrei Torah.

The Rebbe said Torah on the verse "And it shall be, because you will listen to these laws," and explained what the Bnei Yissaschar writes in the way of mussar, that this alludes to the end of the year, to make a cheshbon hanefesh and to prepare properly for the Day of Judgment. He continued with the well-known parable that our holy Rebbes zy"a would repeat on Hoshana Rabba about a king who would come to visit his province: the wise people would prepare as is fitting and go out to greet the king with great joy, whereas the unwise would arrive on the last day in great shame. We are now after Tu B'Av, when the heralds begin to go out, and now is the time to prepare for Rosh Hashana with teshuva and rectifying one's deeds, and thus to bring about a good year, and not, Heaven forbid, to push it off and arrive in great shame at the last minute.

At around 12:30 a meeting took place in his holy residence together with HaGaon HaGadol the Dayan shlit"a and HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Menachem Meir Weissmandl shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Nitra Monsey, where they deliberated at length and with great seriousness over various complicated matters concerning the mehudar shechita of large animals for our holy kehilla. A lengthy discussion on several halachic matters that were deliberated also ensued, and the Rebbe warmly bestowed of his holy blessing and escorted them out with great friendliness.

Friday, Parshas Eikev 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the morning, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Yoel Baruch Bash, where the Rebbe was sandek.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in the main beis medrash. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- the bochur Avrohom Yaakov Tzvi Dromer.
- the bochur Yaakov Yosef Rosenberg.
- the bochur Yoel Chaim Filaf.
- the bochur Yisroel Meir Yoshe, son of Aharon Hersh Mittelman.
- the bochur Yoel, son of Yitzchak Rachlitz.

Thursday, Parshas Eikev 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe entered for Shacharis at around 8:45.
Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur, son of R' Anshil Karpen shlit"a (Kiryas Joel).

- Baal Tefillah: R' Anshil Karpen shlit"a.
- Baal Koreh: R' Anshil Karpen shlit"a.
- Kohen: R' Moshe Yaakov Weiss (Lakewood).

After davening, a lechayim gathering was held with the bar mitzvah bochur in the heichal of the beis medrash. A pleasant conversation unfolded about memories from the early years in America. The Rebbe drank lechayim and wished the bar mitzvah bochur and the entire assembly well.

Afterwards, the Rebbe walked home to his holy residence, and a conversation developed about making the blessing "Oseh Maaseh Bereishis" upon seeing the mountains and the great sea.

At around 1:40, the Rebbe left his holy residence after spending the past four weeks resting, on the way to Mount Washington Regional Airport, where the Rebbe boarded a private plane. The plane took off at around 2:15 and landed at around 3:20 at Stewart Airport, from where the Rebbe traveled about half an hour to Kiryas Joel.

Upon arriving at his holy residence, many talmidei hayeshiva were waiting and welcomed him with song and music, and they all went in to greet him.

In the evening, the Rebbe officiated at kiddushin at the chuppah of the mechutanim:
- R' Moshe Katz shlit"a and R' Moshe Menachem Schlesinger in the halls of Kinor Dovid.
- R' Shlomo Schonbrun and R' Meir Yitzchak Glickman in the halls of Beis Rochel Paradise.

At around 8:40, the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy residence at Zanz 109.
Afterwards, there were yechidus hours (zmanei kenisah) until 12:50 at night in his holy residence at Zanz 109.

At around 9:15, the Rebbe went over to the tenaim hall in his holy residence at Ohel 109, where the Rebbe read the tenaim of the mechutanim:
- R' Yoel Moshe Wertzberger and R' Yitzchak son of R' Chaim Pekete.
- R' Yoel son of R' Baruch Rosenberg and R' Yoel son of R' Yisroel Bleich.

During the yechidus hours, a kesivas ha'osiyos (writing of letters) took place for the Sefer Torah being written l'iluy nishmas HaGaon HaTzaddik R' Leibush Teitelbaum zt"l, Av Beis Din of the beis medrash and Kiryas Vayoel Moshe, which will be brought in this coming Sunday, Parshas Re'eh, to Kiryas Vayoel Moshe in Monticello. The Rebbe wrote in several letters and drank lechayim. A pleasant conversation unfolded about the new 'Kiryas Moshe' in Monticello, and the Rebbe warmly wished HaGaon R' Shalom Teitelbaum shlit"a, Av Beis Din of the kehilla, the other participants from the family of the Av Beis Din zt"l, and the administration and askanim of Kiryas Vayoel Moshe well.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 12:50.

Wednesday, Parshas Eikev — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe entered for Shacharis at around 8:45.

After davening, the Rebbe walked home to his holy residence, and a conversation developed about the halachos of a shul.

The Rebbe entered for Mincha at around 8:50.
Before Mincha, the students of the preparatory class for yeshiva of the Gur Kehillos network, who are staying these days in Bethlehem, New Hampshire, greeted the Rebbe. The Rebbe questioned them about their studies and bestowed of his holy blessing upon the teachers.

Between Mincha and Maariv, the Rebbe was engaged in his learning. At the time of Rabbeinu Tam, Maariv was davened. Baal tefillah: R' Shmuel Heimlich (Antwerp).

Tuesday, Parshas Eikev — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe entered for Shacharis at around 8:45.
- Baal tefillah: R' Hersh Elimelech Fried (Kiryas Joel).
After davening, the Rebbe walked home to his holy residence, and a conversation developed about memories of the weeks that the Divrei Yoel zy"a spent on vacation in Sharon Springs.

In the morning hours, a group of outstanding talmidim of Yeshiva Ketana, Rav Tuv branch, of Kiryas Joel, under the leadership of HaGaon Rabbi Wolf Landau shlit"a, presented themselves for a farher on Shulchan Aruch Yoreh Deah, volume 1, at the Rebbe's holy residence. The Rebbe farhered the bochurim for an extended time, and in the course of it discussed various questions that arise nowadays in the slaughterhouses, both with regard to fowl and with regard to animals. Afterward the bochurim went over to receive a holy blessing.

The Rebbe entered for Mincha at around 9:00. Baal tefillah: the bochur Simcha son of R' Hersh Elimelech Klein (Kiryas Joel). Between Mincha and Maariv, the Rebbe was engaged in his learning. At the time of Rabbeinu Tam, Maariv was davened.

The Rebbe entered for Mincha at around 8:55. Baal Tefilla: the bochur Simcha Klein, son of Hersh Elimelech. Between Mincha and Maariv the Rebbe was engaged in his learning. At the time of Rabbeinu Tam, Maariv was davened. Baal Tefilla: the bochur Moshe Mendlowitz, son of Zalman (Kiryas Joel).

After Maariv, the talmidim of our holy mosdos in Kiryas Joel, the Binyan Eitz Chaim branch, entered the Rebbe's holy residence together with their rebbeim. The Rebbe delivered words of chizuk to the children and examined their learning. Afterward all the children went over to receive the Rebbe's blessing, and the Rebbe distributed sweets and a mishnayos to all the children, and wished the melamdim and staff well.

Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Vaeschanan – Shabbos Nachamu, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, in the resort town of Bethlehem, New Hampshire

This Shabbos, a group of outstanding talmidim of the Mesivta, Kedushas Yoel branch, chose to spend Shabbos in the shadow of holiness (b'tzeil hakodesh).

On Erev Shabbos, after the mikvah, they presented answers to the question that the Rebbe had left in the yeshiva:

They finished at around 10:25. The congregation went over to wish a gut Shabbos and greet the Rebbe, and the Rebbe went into his private room.

At around 10:55, the Rebbe entered the holy tish in the beis medrash together with the yeshiva talmidim and many guests from the community, and began, as is his custom, with Shalom Aleichem, with emotion and sweetness.

The Rebbe said Torah on a verse in the haftarah, "Nachamu nachamu ami yomar," and explained, regarding what the Amrei Noam says that it has the numerical value of "tefillin": even though the halacha is that a husband is obligated to redeem his wife only once, therefore, if Hashem has already redeemed Klal Yisroel from Egypt, then seemingly Hashem is no longer obligated to redeem Klal Yisroel again from exile. This applies only when the husband uses his own assets to redeem her; however, if he uses her assets, he must redeem her multiple times. The Exodus from Egypt came about in the merit of the Avos, so Hashem must indeed redeem Klal Yisroel from exile. The Avos HaKedoshim are hinted at in the tefillin shel rosh. Therefore, we are comforted with the tefillin, which is our consolation and hope that Hashem will soon redeem us from exile.
