Wednesday, Parshas Balak — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal of the Yeshiva Gedolah, Shiur 4. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim.

Afterwards the Rebbe recited the verses word by word.

After davening, the bris took place of the newborn son of R' Yoel, son-in-law of R' Binyomin Wider, and son-in-law of HaRav R' Yitzchak Yaakov Rosenfeld shlit"a, one of the roshei yeshiva, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

Afterwards a lechayim gathering took place in the Heichal of the beis medrash. Several niggunim were sung, and the Rebbe drank lechayim and blessed the baal simcha, R' Yoel, as well as the roshei yeshiva, the bar mitzvah bochurim and all the talmidim of the yeshiva, and then delivered brief words of blessing and chizuk.

In the afternoon, at about 5:20, the Rebbe arrived at the Yeshiva Ketana "Or HaChaim," under the direction of HaRav R' Yaakov Farkash shlit"a, where the affixing of the mezuzah and chanukas habayis took place for the new building the yeshiva recently purchased in Bloomingburg. The Rebbe affixed the mezuzah, and afterwards a lechayim gathering took place. Several niggunim were sung, and the Rebbe drank lechayim and blessed the bochurim, and then delivered brief words of Torah and blessing to the bochurim. After the lechayim, the Rebbe walked around the building and looked over the grounds.

At about 6:00 the Rebbe shlit"a arrived at the tenaim hall in his holy residence, where the ceremony took place establishing the "Halachic Ruling Committees within the Beis Horaah of the holy community of Kiryas Joel," by the rabbonim of the Mivtzar HaKollelim in Kiryas Joel, which was founded on the instructions of the Rebbe shlit"a. The ruling committees are for 7 fields: eruvin, mikvaos, ribbis/heter iska, stam, monetary law, shatnez testing, and checking for insects.
The ceremony was attended by the dayanim of our holy kehilla, headed by the illustrious HaGaon, the Av Beis Din shlit"a, who spoke at the beginning of the ceremony, and by the members of the administration of the Mivtzar HaKollelim.

During the ceremony, HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Menachem Meir Weissmandl shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Nitra Monsey and one of the leading halachic authorities of our generation, and HaRav R' Wolf Aharon Teller shlit"a, director of the kollel, spoke. The Rebbe drank lechayim and warmly blessed the entire assembly, and delivered holy words. The Rebbe welcomed the Nitra Rav shlit"a and praised his work in the area of kashrus, and spoke at length with words of guidance to the rabbonim of the kollel, who are now taking the first steps in the area of rulings and halacha for the public, and concluded with abundant blessings. It ended at about 6:45.

In the evening the Rebbe officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the following mechutanim.

After the chuppos, the Rebbe went to the home of HaRav R' Yitzchak Yaakov Rosenfeld shlit"a, where the Rebbe participated in the seudas bris milah for the newborn son of his son-in-law R' Yoel, son-in-law of R' Binyomin Wider. The Rebbe drank lechayim and bestowed his holy blessings.

Entry hours to the Rebbe were from 8:30 until late at 1:30 at night.

At about 9:15 the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy residence, and Maariv at about 12:45, and afterwards continued receiving the public.

Tuesday, Parshas Balak — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Beis Medrash HaGadol at around 8:15, and the Rebbe recited the verses of Krias Shema verse by verse. After davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Moshe Dov Schwartz.

Afterward, the brisos took place.
A son born to R' Mordechai Hirsch, where the Rebbe was the sandek.
Twin sons born to R' Yisroel Horowitz, where the Rebbe was the sandek and mohel.

At around 10:20 the Rebbe set out on the way to Westchester Airport, and at around 11:15 the Rebbe took off on a private flight, a journey of about an hour and a half, to North Carolina, where the Rebbe visited Jewish prisoners who, unfortunately, are being held in the local prison. Through efforts with government authorities, it was possible to arrange the Rebbe's visit properly with an escort, at an appropriate time, and for close to an hour and a half.

After the visit, the Rebbe set out on the way back to New York on the private flight. At around 5:00 the plane landed at Westchester Airport, and the Rebbe immediately traveled to Williamsburg for the regular yechidus hours.

At 7:45 the Rebbe davened Mincha, and afterward there were yechidus hours, in the inner sanctum, until 12:15 at night in the Rebbe's holy residence in Williamsburg.

During the yechidus hours, the chalaka celebration took place for the grandson of the Rebbe, Rabbi Lipa Ashkenazi shlit"a, son of the HaGaon HaTzaddik, rav of Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek shlit"a. The Rebbe cut the hair, drank a lechayim, and bestowed his holy blessings.

At around 10:30, a lechayim gathering and founding event took place in the Rebbe's holy residence for our kehilla and our holy institutions, "Talmud Torah and Beis Rochel" in Lynden, New Jersey, in the way of our holy Rebbes zy"a, under the holy leadership of the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, together with the appointment of HaGaon Rabbi Eliezer Mordechai Soffer shlit"a, one of the rabbanim of our kollel and a maggid shiur in our batei medrash in Williamsburg, as rav of the kehilla.

The new rav, HaGaon R' Eliezer Mordechai shlit"a, arrived and went in immediately to greet the Rebbe, together with his father HaGaon R' Yitzchak Tzvi shlit"a, dayan in Boro Park, his grandfather HaGaon R' Chaim Aryeh Geller shlit"a, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Bobov, and his father-in-law HaGaon R' Asher Anshel Scher shlit"a, av beis din of Klausen. A fine conversation took place about the connection of the Arugas HaBosem zt"l to our holy Rebbes of Sighet and Zanz, about the role of a rav in the old country, and about various matters of our holy kehilla in the city of Lynden. In addition, HaRav HaTzaddik R' Yaakov Naftali Rottenberg shlit"a, son of the Kossoner Rebbe shlit"a, one of the founders of the community in Lynden, conveyed greetings from his father, the Kossoner Rebbe shlit"a, who sent him as his emissary to the appointment event.

Afterward, the Rebbe went down to Beis Medrash Eitz Chaim Sighet, where a lechayim gathering was held on the occasion, with the participation of the heads of the kehilla and the askanim and residents of the city of Lynden, may it be rebuilt. Speaking were HaGaon R' Naftali Hirtzka Zwebel shlit"a, rosh hakahal of Williamsburg, and HaRav R' Yosha Leib Levy, one of the prominent residents and askanim in the city of Lynden, and the new rav, HaGaon R' Eliezer Mordechai shlit"a. The Rebbe shlit"a drank a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessings upon the new rav shlit"a and upon the entire assembly,
and delivered holy words. Among other things, the Rebbe spoke about the early years in America, when the holy Rebbe zy"a arrived and purified the soil of America and laid the foundations for our holy kehilla in all areas, and now it has reached Lynden as well, where our chassidim are establishing a kehilla, and now a rav is being taken on for our holy kehilla. In the course of his words, the Rebbe praised the Kossoner Rebbe shlit"a, who was the pioneer in moving there and founding the chassidic community, and spoke in praise of the distinguished rav shlit"a, who will stand at the head of our holy kehilla and will see to it that the kehilla conducts itself according to the foundations of the holy Rebbe zy"a. It is hoped that soon the Talmud Torah and Beis Rochel will open for our chassidim.

The Rebbe concluded with abundant blessings for the rav and for the entire assembly. Several niggunim were sung, and the Rebbe went back up to his holy residence and continued receiving the public.

Monday, Parshas Balak — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Divrei Yoel branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim.

During the leining the Rebbe went up for hagbah, and after davening he delivered the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 13, verse 3. Afterward a lechayim took place with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Rebbe's private room.

In the afternoon the Rebbe went up to the Heichal HaYeshiva, Kedushas Yoel branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the yeshiva's talmidim in his private room.

Late in the afternoon, Rabbi Eliezer Lazarov of Chabad, rav of Houston, Texas, and rabbi of the local hospital, which helps many Jewish patients from New York and is closely connected with the Hatzolah organization of Kiryas Joel, came in to the Rebbe's home. The Rebbe took an interest in his beneficial work and bestowed his holy blessings.

In the evening the Rebbe shlit"a officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the following mechutanim.

The Rebbe gave each gabbai a gift of a Zemiros Birech Moshe and bestowed his holy blessings.

At around 9:00 the Rebbe davened Mincha in his home.

Last night, at the home of the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a in Williamsburg, a lechayim celebration and founding event took place for our kehilla and our holy mosdos, "Talmud Torah and Beis Rachel" in Lindenwood, New Jersey, in the way of our holy Rebbes zy"a, under the holy leadership of the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a. Together with it came the appointment of HaGaon Rabbi Eliezer Mordechai Sofer shlit"a, of the rabbanim of our kollel and a maggid shiur in our batei medrash in Williamsburg, as rav of the kehilla.

The new rav, HaGaon R' Eliezer Mordechai shlit"a, arrived and went in immediately to greet the Rebbe, together with his father HaGaon R' Yitzchak Tzvi shlit"a, dayan in Boro Park, his grandfather HaGaon R' Chaim Aryeh Geller shlit"a, a rebbi in the Bobov yeshiva, and his father-in-law HaGaon R' Asher Anshel Shaar shlit"a, av beis din of Klausenburg. After davening, the Rebbe recited the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 12, verse 7. Afterwards, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Heichal HaBeis Medrash.

The Rebbe shlit"a then went over to the Beis Medrash HaGadol, where a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Yudel Ackerman (B"P), at which the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel. Afterwards, a lechayim seudah was held in the Heichal HaBeis Medrash, and the Rebbe related several stories about the Holy Rebbe Ateres Tzvi of Zidichov zy"a, whose yahrzeit fell on Sunday.

In the afternoon, the Rebbe went up to Heichal HaYeshiva, the Vayoel Moshe branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the yeshiva's talmidim in his private room.

In the evening, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a went to the home of the distinguished Mrs. Glantzer tichye, widow of R' Avrohom Yaakov HaKohen z"l, where the signing of the documents took place, in which the widow tichye together with her children purchased, for a large sum, a prominent merit in the building of the Beis Chinuch L'Banos Bnos Eretz Yisroel Beis Faiga in Bnei Brak yatzlicha, l'iluy nishmas their distinguished father z"l. The Rebbe signed the documents together with the family, drank a lechayim, and bestowed his holy blessings upon the widow and her distinguished children shlita.

The hours for entering the Rebbe's room were from 8:00 until 12:40 at night.

Immediately upon arrival, a meeting took place in the Beis Medrash in his holy home with the rabbonim and askanim of the Vaad HaTznius of Kiryas Joel. The Rav HaKehilla, R' Dovid Eckstein, spoke, and the Rebbe delivered words of Torah and spoke at length for some time about various pressing matters, concluding with his holy blessings. Afterwards, the Rebbe davened Mincha.

During the hours for entering, HaGaon Rabbi Menachem Bentzion Warfsman shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Buchach Monsey, entered together with his son the chassan, to receive the Rebbe's holy blessing in honor of the wedding taking place this Wednesday, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessings.

Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Chukas — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a.

Erev Shabbos afternoon, the Rebbe shlit"a put the shtreimel on the chasanim.

On Friday night at around 9:00, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and proceeded to Mincha. Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Chaim Nuchem Wertzberger.

Davening ended at around 10:35. The crowd went over to wish a "Gut Shabbos," and the Rebbe shlit"a went into his private room.

A short time after davening, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Shabbos seudah in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with the talmidei hamesivta, and began, as is his holy custom, "Shalom Aleichem" with emotion and sweetness.

Eshes Chayil: a grandson of the Rebbe, the bochur Yisroel Dushinsky, son of HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of Beis Medrash Ohel Feiga shlit"a. Lifting the cup for Kiddush: HaGaon Rabbi Shmuel Low shlit"a, a moreh tzedek of our kehilla in London.

At the fish course, per the Rebbe's instruction, the head of the fish was not brought to the table as it is every week, because of the concern of worms that was publicized by the Vaad Hakashrus.

The Rebbe shlit"a said a Torah thought on the Midrash "'This is the statute of the Torah' — the ministering angels asked, if so, why did Moshe die," and explained it in the manner of a derush in the sugya of "a positive commandment overrides a negative commandment and positive commandment."

In his Torah, the Rebbe shlit"a focused on the verse "This is the statute of the Torah" and explained that the reading of Parah Adumah has the power to shine a purity into Jewish hearts, even those who, chas v'shalom, stumbled in forbidden gazing, and where "a sin repeated becomes as permitted to him." It awakens the heart and helps one do teshuva; when one goes to the mikvah one fulfills "And I will sprinkle upon you pure waters," to have guarded senses and serve the Creator with a pure heart.

Thursday, Parshas Chukas — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning, before Shacharis, a bris took place in the Heichal of Mivtzar HaKollelim for the newborn son of HaGaon R' Wolf Aharon Teller shlit"a, director of the Kollel, at which the Rebbe served as sandek.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal of the Mesivta, Beirach Moshe branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim.

During the Torah reading, the Rebbe went to the hagbah. After davening, the Rebbe recited the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 12, verse 7. Afterwards a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room.

In the evening, the Rebbe officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the following mechutanim: R' Nata Mordechai Kaufman - R' Uri Yehuda Kaufman, at Kinor David Hall.

After the chuppos, the Rebbe went to affix a mezuzah at the new home of the yungerman R' Moshe Shmuel son of R' Berish Stein in the Highland Mills neighborhood in Gilalot, Kiryas Joel. The Rebbe affixed the mezuzah and then drank a lechayim. Also present was HaGaon R' Shlomo Yosef Josefovitz shlit"a, rav of the Woodbury Junction neighborhood. They discussed the expansion of the borders of holiness in the area with new residents, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessings.

The times for entering the Rebbe's private room were from 8:00 until 1:00 after midnight. The Rebbe davened Mincha at around 9:15, and Maariv at around 10:00 in his holy home.

During the times for entering, askanim of our holy kehilla from Linden, New Jersey, entered the Rebbe's room regarding the opening of our holy mosdos in the city of Linden in the coming school year, b'ezras Hashem. The askanim conveyed greetings from the new settlement and from the members of the kehilla who have settled there, and also regarding the new property that was purchased, where they hope to build a magnificent new beis medrash soon for the members of the kehilla. Afterwards, all the plans for opening our holy mosdos were reviewed, as they hope IY"H to open this coming winter a talmud torah and a Bais Rochel for the first three grades. The Rebbe took an interest in all the details and in who will be responsible, both materially and spiritually, greatly encouraged the askanim, and bestowed blessings from his holy lips.

At around 11:30, the Rebbe went to the home of R' Moshe Goldstein, where a siyum of the writing of the letters took place for the Sefer Torah being written by his son-in-law R' Henoch Krausz, which will be completed this Shabbos. The Rebbe wrote in the letters, then went to the hagbah and broke into a dance with the open Sefer Torah. R' Moshe Goldstein was honored with gelilah. Afterwards the Rebbe drank a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessings.

At around 12:00, the Rebbe returned to his holy home and continued receiving the public.
