Shabbos Kodesh Parshas Balak 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, at the vacation location in Bethlehem, New Hampshire.

This week, the talmidim of the Mesivta, Divrei Yoel branch, merited to spend Shabbos B'tzeil HaKodesh. Also staying B'tzeil HaKodesh were HaGaon Rabbi Avrohom Shmuel Englander shlit"a, dayan of our kehilla in Lakewood, together with a group of anash bochurim, residents of Lakewood.

On Erev Shabbos afternoon, while walking to the mikvah, the Rebbe greeted the HaGaon, dayan of our kehilla in Lakewood shlit"a, together with the bochurim, and as they walked a nice conversation developed about starting Kabbalas Shabbos earlier than the proper time.
After the mikvah the Rebbe shlit"a inspected the eiruv that runs from the beis medrash to his holy residence, which was made by R' Avrohom Massri.

On Friday night at around 9:00 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha. Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Mordechai Wieder (Tosh).

The davening ended at around 10:30. The congregation went over to wish a gut Shabbos and greet the Rebbe, and the Rebbe shlit"a went home to his holy residence.

At around 11:10 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the hall of the beis medrash for the Shabbos meal with the talmidim of the Mesivta and many guests from anash, and began, as is his holy custom, "Shalom Aleichem" with emotion and melody.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "And Moav was terrified of the people, because they were many," and explained it in the manner of derush on the sugya of aseh docheh lo sa'aseh.

Stories and anecdotes: this week the Rebbe shlit"a related about his grandfather, the holy R' Moshe Dovid of Tolchava zy"a, whose yahrzeit falls on Sunday, 18 Tammuz. Kah Ribon Olam: HaGaon R' Yosef Dovid Levi shlit"a, rebbi in the Mesivta.

The new chasanim went around to take fruit, and then Beyom HaShevii: HaGaon R' Avrohom Yaakov Yakob shlit"a, rebbi in the Mesivta. It ended at around 1:50.

On the day of Shabbos Kodesh

On Shabbos morning the Rebbe shlit"a entered for davening at 9:40. Pesukei D'zimra: HaGaon R' Lipa Berkowitz shlit"a. The Rebbe shlit"a approached the amud for Shacharis, and the HaGaon, dayan of our kehilla in Lakewood shlit"a, was sent to lead the chazaras hashatz.

For Musaf the Rebbe shlit"a approached the amud in honor of the yahrzeit next week of the Rebbetzin, the tzadekes a"h. Opening of Ane'im Zemiros: Rabbi Chaim Englander. It ended at 12:50.
At around 2:30 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash for the zemiros at the Shabbos day meal. Kugel and lechayim were brought in. The Rebbe shlit"a honored people with the zemiros: Baruch Hashem: R' Avrohom Yitzchak Kahira, mashgiach in the Mesivta; Baruch Keil Elyon: R' Shlomo Schonbrun.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "For from the top of rocks I see them," and explained that through the hakafos the curtain separating Hashem and Klal Yisroel is removed, and in this way one can do teshuvah out of love.
Birkas Hamazon: Rabbi Yitzchak Eizik Kahana shlit"a. It ended at 3:15.

Raava D'raavin

The Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash for Mincha and Shalosh Seudos at around 8:55. Mincha: R' Dovid Yitzchak Wertzberger; Hotzaah and Hachnasah: R' Pinchas Brach; Kohen: R' Yaakov, son of R' Moshe Chaim, Friedman (Kiryas Joel); Levi: HaGaon R' Chaim Yosef Dovid Levi shlit"a; Shlishi: the bochur Aharon Dovid Greenfeld (London); Hagbah: the Rebbe shlit"a; Gelilah: R' Dovid Farkash.

The Rebbe shlit"a honored people with the zemiros at Shalosh Seudos. Odeh: R' Mordechai Shabsai Shiman (Williamsburg); Shir HaMaalos: R' Yitzchak Yosef Grad.

In the Torah, the Rebbe shlit"a spoke on the verse "He saw no iniquity in Yaakov, and saw no perversity in Yisroel," and explained that if one is not careful with the trait of truth, the yetzer hara has the power to disguise aveiros as mitzvos, and thereby cause one to stumble with the gravest aveiros, which brought about the destruction of the Beis HaMikdash.
One must be careful and watch one's words, especially in these days of Bein HaMetzarim, and in this way we will merit the rebuilding of the Beis HaMikdash speedily.

Yedid Nefesh: R' Yitzchak Ehrenfeld (Kiryas Joel); Keil Mistater: R' Simcha Shmuel (Kiryas Joel). The Rebbe shlit"a made a bracha on the cup.

The Rebbe shlit"a approached the amud for Maariv on Motzei Shabbos. After Havdalah, everyone went over to wish a gutte voch, and the bochur Lipa, son of HaGaon R' Meir Weinberger shlit"a, moreh tzedek in our kehilla in Antwerp, presented an answer to a question that the Rebbe had left over in yeshiva. It ended at 11:30.

At around 12:15 the HaGaon, dayan of our kehilla in Lakewood shlit"a, together with the group of anash bochurim, residents of Lakewood, who had stayed B'tzeil HaKodesh, entered for a farewell visit at his holy residence. A longer conversation took place about halachic matters and various holy customs of the Divrei Yoel zt"l. Afterward the Rebbe said words of guidance to the bochurim, and the bochurim went over to take their leave, and the Rebbe bestowed from his holy brachos upon the dayan shlit"a and all the bochurim.

Thursday, Parshas Balak — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the morning, before Shacharis, brissen took place.
For the newborn son of R' Yaakov Friedman, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.
For the newborn son of R' Yosha Eliezer Weissman, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal of the Mesivta, Beirach Moshe branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim.

The bochur Boruch Yehuda Friedman.

During the Torah reading, the Rebbe went up for Hagbah. After davening, the Rebbe delivered the weekly shiur on the sugya in the yeshiva's shiurim, in Maseches Bava Basra, perek Chezkas HaBatim, and in it the Rebbe left a kashya on the sugya for the talmidim of the yeshiva before departing for a restful vacation in Bethlehem, New Hampshire.

Afterwards, a lechayim took place with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room. The Rebbe shlit"a was escorted out of the yeshiva with song, 'Ki Malachav Yetzaveh Lach,' on the occasion of his departure for the vacation.

At around 1:40, the Rebbe left his holy home on the way to Bethlehem, New Hampshire, where the Rebbe will stay for rest over the coming four weeks until Thursday, Parshas Va'eschanan.

En route, the Rebbe shlit"a stopped in Waterbury, Connecticut, where the Rebbe visited the Yeshivas Ohel Torah Ostrovtza, headed by HaGaon Rabbi Avrohom Amram Meisels shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Mihaldi. The roshei yeshiva and the local rabbonim were also present, a fine conversation was held, and the Rebbe was honored with a lechayim and delivered words of kodesh to the bochurim.
Afterwards, the Rebbe went over to the local city shul, where the Rebbe davened Mincha in the small beis medrash of the local kehilla, and then into the large heichal where the Kollel Avreichim of Waterbury is housed, and the Rebbe delivered a shiur in pilpul on the sugya of chiddush regarding the matter of "aseh docheh lo sa'aseh." Then, at around 4:45, the Rebbe continued on the way to New Hampshire, arriving at around 8:40.

At around 9:30, the Rebbe entered the beis medrash of Kehal Yirei'im Beis Elimelech. The Rebbe looked over the new facilities that were added for the benefit of the many guests who come to stay b'tzeil hakodesh, and the guests went over to greet him. At the time of Rabbeinu Tam, the Rebbe davened Maariv, and after Maariv, the Rebbe walked home to his holy home.
