Joyous niggunim were also sung in honor of the kiddusha rabba of the Rebbe's granddaughter, the daughter born to his grandson Rabbi Chaim Tzvi Teitelbaum shlit"a, held in our great beis medrash in Williamsburg. She was named in Israel "Malka" after the righteous Rebbetzin, wife of the Sar Shalom of Belz zy"a, and the crowd came over to wish mazel tov to the Rebbe shlit"a.
They finished at around 12:50.

- Shir HaMaalos: R' Dovid Eckstein.

The Rebbe said a Torah thought on the verse "Bereishis bara Elokim" and explained that through learning Torah, as even one who sits and learns has Hashem with him, Hashem in His abundant mercy and kindness views a blemish of sin as it appears in this world, and not as grave as it appears in the upper worlds, and thus teshuva is effective. He roused the crowd that we now stand after the month of Elul and Tishrei and before the long winter season. Every Jew did teshuva for his sins, and likewise each one accepted upon himself good resolutions in learning Torah. Now is the time to pay off these resolutions and be engaged in Torah study, and thus merit that Hashem is with him, and through this we will merit that our teshuva of the days of Elul and Tishrei be accepted by Hashem.

- Yedid Nefesh: R' Naftali Hirtzka Stein.
- Kel Mistateir: R' Yoel Klein.
The Rebbe blessed over the cup.

They finished at around 8:45, after which the Rebbe made Havdalah at the guest residence.

At around 12:30 the Rebbe addressed, via a hookup, a siyum on Maseches Kiddushin by graduates of our holy mosdos in Williamsburg, ninth grade, which took place in the halls of Gan Esther. The Rebbe spoke in praise of the bochurim who toiled in Torah the entire year, completed Maseches Kiddushin and rose ever higher in the service of Hashem, and blessed all the bochurim who are now entering the yeshivos ketanos abundantly, that they continue to succeed in growing in Torah and yiras Shamayim.

Leil Shemini Atzeres, Z'man Simchaseinu — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At around 8:50 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in a borrowed tallis. Maariv: HaGaon HaTzaddik R' Moshe Friedman shlit"a, dayan and moreh tzedek of our kehilla in Boro Park.

At 9:30 the Rebbe shlit"a began "Atah Hareisa" with a holy fiery fervor, which was followed by a heavenly outcry from tens of thousands of Jews, elders and youths alike. Opening of the Aron: HaRav HaChassid R' Yitzchak Schwartz (Williamsburg).

The sifrei Torah were brought in, the Rebbe went up to the bima and said the Leshem Yichud, and the singers began to sing "Lamnatze'ach."

"Migdal Oz Shem Hashem, Bo Yarutz Tzaddik V'nisgav"
At about 9:45 the Rebbe shlit"a began his holy service with the dancing of the elevated Hakafos, "running like a ram, bowing toward the way," with fiery holy enthusiasm and joy of a mitzvah, at the head of a holy, stirring congregation, of over ten thousand talmidim and chassidim, for hour upon hour in the joy of the Torah. Fortunate is the eye that saw our tent in the joy of our kehilla.

At 11:15 the introductory verses concluded and the first Hakafa began.
Due to the late hour, the Rebbe danced the sixth and seventh Hakafos only on the bima.
Throughout Yom Tov, during all the Hakafos that the Rebbe danced on the bima, HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of our kehilla in Boro Park, 15th Avenue, shlit"a, and the sons of the Rebbe shlit"a came up onto the bima as the Rebbe circled the bima while the Hakafos were recited.

At the seventh Hakafa, all the guests from Eretz Yisroel were honored with a sefer Torah.

After the Hakafos and after Aleinu, the Rebbe, with a radiant countenance, wished a good Shabbos and a good Yom Tov to the entire congregation, on all sides of the beis medrash. It concluded at 1:05.

At around 2:15 the Rebbe came to the pure table in the hall of his holy abode.
Upon entering, the Rebbe sat down and for a longer time related recollections of the tefillos and tishen of the holy Rebbe, the Divrei Yoel zy"a, on Shabbosos and Yamim Tovim, and recollections of Yom Tov Hoshana Rabbah and Simchas Torah.

At around 2:40 the Rebbe began, in his holy manner, "Shalom Aleichem" with feeling and melody, until "Melech Tamim Darko."
- Eishes Chayil: the Rebbe's grandson, the chassan Yechezkel Shraga Teitelbaum, son of HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of the beis medrash, Yisroel Shalom shlit"a.
- Raising the cup: HaRav HaGaon Rabbi Moshe Horowitz shlit"a (Boro Park), son-in-law of HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of the beis medrash on 15th Avenue shlit"a.
Torah melodies were sung with great joy.

- Kol Mekadesh: R' Yoel, son of HaGaon HaTzaddik R' Shmuel Binyamin Krausz shlit"a (London).
- Menucha V'simcha: R' Yoel Stern (Williamsburg).

The Rebbe said Torah on the verse "U'vayom Hashemini Atzeres Tihiye Lachem" and explained that on Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, the blemish of the aveiros is atoned for, and through dancing in joy on Shemini Atzeres, the blemish of the time during which one committed an aveira is atoned for, and one regains the mitzvos that the external forces had taken away.

- Kah Echsof: R' Yosef Meir Schmidman shlit"a (Monsey).
- Birkas Hamazon: the baal simcha, his grandson Rabbi Dovid Teitelbaum shlit"a.
The new chassanim went over to take fruit. Afterwards the Shalom Zachar took place for the newborn son of the Rebbe's grandson Rabbi Dovid Teitelbaum shlit"a. The Rebbe tasted from the baked goods and beer, joyous melodies were sung, and warm wishes were extended to the baal simcha and to the entire assembly.
Also held was a Shalom Zachar for the newborn son of R' Yekusiel Menashe, son of R' Yoel Friedman.
- Az B'yom HaShevi'i: R' Yisroel Yaakov (Yerushalayim).
It concluded at around 4:00.

Yom Shemini Atzeres

On Shemini Atzeres morning, at around 11:15, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash.

Before davening, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Moshe Yosef Pollak, at which the Rebbe served as sandek.

- Birchos Hashachar: HaGaon HaTzaddik R' Naftali Horowitz shlit"a of Rachov, London.
- Pesukei D'zimra: HaGaon HaTzaddik R' Meir Zwiebel shlit"a, one of the rabbonim of our holy kehilla in Williamsburg.
The Rebbe then proceeded to Shacharis and Hallel.

- Hotza'ah and Hachnasah: Rabbi Chaim Hersh, son of HaRav HaGaon Rabbi Sinai Teitelbaum shlit"a (Boro Park), and Rabbi Zalman Leib, son of HaRav HaGaon Rabbi Aharon Teitelbaum shlit"a (Williamsburg), grandsons of HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of our kehilla in Boro Park, 15th Avenue shlit"a.
- Pesukei Shema Yisroel: HaRav HaGaon R' Shalom Teitelbaum shlit"a, dayan and moreh tzedek of Kiryas Yoel Moshe.
- Carrying the Sefer Torah to the bima: R' Yosef Binyamin Stern shlit"a (Boro Park) and R' Yisroel Yaakov Pollak (Williamsburg).

- Kohen: R' Yoel Shimon Rubin (Williamsburg).
- Levi: HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din of Monsey shlit"a.
- Shlishi: HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of our kehilla in Boro Park, 15th Avenue shlit"a.
- Revi'i: HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din of Williamsburg shlit"a.
- Chamishi: R' Yoel Epstein.
- Shishi: the Rebbe shlit"a.

After his aliyah, the Rebbe recited a Mi Shebeirach for the birth of a daughter for:
- R' Shmuel, son of R' Aharon Hersh Mittelman (Boro Park).
- R' Mendel, son of R' Yoel Weiss.
- R' Yoel, son of R' Yitzchak Teitelbaum.
- R' Yisroel Dovid Kappel.
- R' Yaakov, son of R' Avrohom Moshe Landau.
- R' Yechiel Alter, son of R' Avrohom Moshe Taub.

- Shevi'i: R' Nachum Mordechai Weinberger (London).
- Hagbah on the first sefer: R' Moshe Aryeh Freund of Eretz Yisroel, in London.
- Gelilah: R' Menachem Yuda Schlesinger (Williamsburg).
- Maftir: R' Avrohom Yoel Loeffler shlit"a (Williamsburg).
- Hagbah on the second sefer: R' Mordechai Weiss (Sighet).
- Gelilah: R' Yosef Leib Kahana (Williamsburg).

Yizkor was recited. Due to the great crush of the many thousands of men entering after Yizkor, special barriers were set up on all wings and on the south and north sides of the beis medrash, to prevent dangers to life when so many thousands of Jews go out and come in at once.

After a few minutes the Rebbe returned, wearing his kittel and white stockings and bekitshe, and at around 2:45 he approached the amud and recited the Tefilas Geshem, followed by Ledavid Mizmor and Kaddish. The attendant, R' Yoel Kaufman, called out "Mashiv Haruach Umorid Hagashem."
The Rebbe shlit"a blessed for rain with great arousal.

Opening of Geshem: R' Yehoshua Wertzberger; at Kavei: R' Yitzchak Ehrenfeld; opening of Ane'im Zemiros: R' Yaakov Wiesel (Williamsburg). It concluded at around 3:40.

After a few minutes the Rebbe shlit"a entered the great sukka for Kiddush as is customary. The Rebbe made Kiddush and tasted from the mezonos, fish and kinder, and Yom Tov melodies were sung.

The Rebbe said Torah on "Chag HaSukkos Ta'aseh Lecha" and explained that through the dancing of joy, when one dances and rectifies all 248 limbs and 365 sinews, Hashem must bestow parnassa, and he concluded with abundant blessings for generous parnassa for the entire congregation.
It concluded at around 4:00.

The Rebbe held the afternoon meal together with his family, and his brother, HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of our kehilla in Boro Park, 15th Avenue shlit"a, and his family, in the sukka in his holy abode, with the sukka's roof open.
The Rebbe honored various people with the zemiros.
- The piyut: his son HaRav HaGaon R' Yoel Teitelbaum shlit"a (Boro Park).
- Baruch Hashem Yom Yom: his son-in-law HaRav HaGaon R' Moshe Horowitz shlit"a.
- Baruch Kel Elyon: his grandson Rabbi Zalman Leib, son of HaRav HaGaon Rabbi Aharon Teitelbaum shlit"a.

The Rebbe said Torah on the verse "Higaleh Na U'furos Chavivi Alai Es Sukkas Shlomecha" and explained that the minimum size of a sukka is two walls of seven tefachim and a third of even one tefach. The Shulchan Aruch states that there are seven names that may not be erased, and the Gemara says there are seven books in the Torah; Klal Yisroel is "one nation in the land." Thus the three walls of the sukka correspond to Hakadosh Baruch Hu, the Torah, and Yisroel. This is what we pray: "U'furos Chavivi Alai Es Sukkas Shlomecha" — without the third wall the sukka is not kosher; therefore "Ta'ir Eretz Mikvodecha" must come to be, and Hashem must connect Himself to Klal Yisroel.
- Birkas Hamazon: HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of our kehilla in Boro Park, 15th Avenue shlit"a.

In the afternoon, at around 6:45, the Rebbe entered the great beis medrash for Mincha.
- Baal tefilla: R' Meir Margaliot shlit"a (Monsey).
- Pesicha: R' Yeshaya Gross shlit"a (Williamsburg).
- Baal koreh: R' Yaakov Stern (Williamsburg).
- Kohen: R' Yoel Glick (Williamsburg).
- Levi: R' Yisroel Yuda Wertzberger shlit"a.
- Shlishi: R' Avigdor Frankel (Williamsburg).
- Hagbah: the Rebbe shlit"a.
- Gelilah: R' Avrohom Weisman (Boro Park).

After Mincha the Rebbe shlit"a entered the great sukka for the third meal and took leave of the sukka.
The Rebbe washed, and after the fish the Rebbe tasted from the apples. The attendant R' Yoel Kaufman poured the cups for the Rebbe, and the Rebbe wished the chevra kadisha and the entire assembly of thousands of men a lechayim.

- Odeh: R' Mordechai Landau.
- Shir Hamaalos: R' Moshe Goldstein.

The Rebbe said Torah on "Higaleh Na U'furos Chavivi Alai" and explained that the mitzva of sukka is called a "light mitzva." We see with Titus HaRasha that Hashem said, "I have a light creature," because it enters and does not leave. The same is true of the mitzva of sukka: one enters the sukka but does not leave; the kedusha of the mitzva of sukka remains with a person and he carries it with him for the entire year. "Higaleh Na U'furos Chavivi Alai Es Sukkas Shlomecha" — one spreads the mitzva of sukka over himself, and "Ta'ir Eretz Mikvodecha" remains for the entire year. He concluded with abundant blessings that everyone be able to take along the mitzva of sukka and its influences for the whole year.

- Yedid Nefesh: R' Yudel Wertzberger (Williamsburg).
- Kel Mistateir: HaRav HaGaon R' Naftali Hirtzka Zwiebel shlit"a, Rosh Av Beis Din of Williamsburg.
The Rebbe made a bracha on the cup.

The singing of "Higaleh Na" continued with great arousal.
The Rebbe shlit"a began throwing apples, following the minhag of the Beirach Moshe zy"a and, earlier, of the Divrei Chaim zy"a, and then asked the attendant to finish throwing whatever remained. Then he recited with feeling the prayer upon leaving the sukka and the Yehi Ratzon. The Rebbe stood up and declared "L'shana Haba'a B'Yerushalayim" with holy fire, and set out in a fiery dance in the joy of a mitzva, to take leave of Yom Tov Sukkos.

The Rebbe left the sukka in holy dance and entered the beis medrash and danced around the beis medrash several times, leaning on his brother, HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of our kehilla in Boro Park, 15th Avenue shlit"a, and HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din of Monsey shlit"a. Afterwards the Rebbe sat down in his place and the singing continued for several minutes. It concluded at around 8:25. The Rebbe wished a good Yom Tov and went home to his holy abode.

The night of Tuesday of Chol HaMoed – Ushpizin of Aharon HaKohen – 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 8:10 in his holy home.

At around 11:00, HaGaon Rabbi Avrohom Shmuel Englander shlit"a, dayan of our holy kehilla in Lakewood, entered the Rebbe's room. A pleasant conversation took place about the halachos and minhagim of Yom Tov Sukkos, and about the great success of the Yeshiva Ketana, the Beirach Moshe branch in Lakewood, where the dayan shlit"a serves as rosh yeshiva. The Rebbe bestowed his holy blessing upon him.

The Rebbe entered the holy table in the large sukkah at around 11:15.
The Rebbe recited the Ushpizin order and washed. The foods were served as on Yom Tov, the Ushpizin hosts set out wine, and after the meat course the Ushpizin hosts served kugels, and the Rebbe distributed shirayim.

The Rebbe honored the following with the Shir HaMaalos:
- R' Moshe Gross shlit"a of Kerestir, Monsey.
- HaRav HaGaon R' Meshulam Nosson Spiegel shlit"a, rav of the Tefilah L'Moshe Kalashin beis medrash in Monsey.
- HaGaon Rabbi Avrohom Shmuel Englander shlit"a, dayan of our kehilla in Lakewood.

The Rebbe delivered divrei Torah on the verse "El mul pnei hamenorah yairu shivas haneiros" ("Toward the face of the Menorah shall the seven lamps shed light"), and explained that when Aharon HaKohen lit the Menorah, he bestowed both spiritual and material blessings. Since without material abundance it is difficult to fulfill all the mitzvos, wealth that comes as a blessing from Hashem Himself cannot harm and does not carry the test of wealth. The blessings that Aharon HaKohen bestowed, and that are drawn down through Birkas Kohanim, come from Hashem and bring only good. Likewise, the mitzvah of sukkah brings wealth, as explained in the holy sefarim, and this too comes from the shade of faith of Hashem Himself and is a powerful blessing. The Rebbe wished abundant blessings for the entire gathering.
The Rebbe continued and repeated from the Chasam Sofer that the reason we eat dairy foods on Yom Tov of Shavuos is that milk is good for all people, young and old, and from milk one can make various foods: from the best one makes sour cream, and from the weaker one makes cheese, etc. Similarly, the holy Torah was given to all of Klal Yisroel, young and old, and not only to the sour cream, the elite, but to everyone without exception. When Aharon HaKohen bestowed wisdom of the Torah at the lighting of the Menorah, he bestowed it upon all of Klal Yisroel; everyone whose soul desires Torah is entitled to come to the beis medrash. This is what Aharon HaKohen taught us, "to tell the praise of Aharon, that he did not change": that we must provide yeshivas for everyone and not only for the select few. And likewise that we must light "until the flame rises on its own"; we must light and kindle all the souls of Yisroel until the flame rises on its own and a flame ignites within the heart. The Rebbe concluded with abundant blessings for the entire gathering.

Immediately after the divrei Torah, the Rebbe went into his private room next to the sukkah together with the Gaon HaGadol, the dayan shlit"a. Several members of Hatzolah and other askanim were present, and they presented the latest developments regarding the pressing question that was awaiting the Rebbe's decision.
After some time, the Rebbe returned to the holy table and continued with the dancing.
- Birkas Hamazon: HaRav HaGaon R' Berel Glanz shlit"a of Bardiov.
They concluded at around 1:00.

A few minutes later, the Rebbe entered the large beis medrash for the grand Simchas Beis HaSho'eva, holy dancing by the chassidim and men of deed, elders together with youths. The Rebbe sat down on the honored platform, watched, and encouraged the dancing for a while. At around 1:25 the Rebbe left the beis medrash and went home to his holy residence.

Wednesday – Tuesday of Chol HaMoed Sukkos

After the Rebbe and the dayan shlit"a had gone through the matter and all its complicated halachic aspects during the night, in the early morning hours the Gaon HaGadol, the dayan shlit"a, came over together with HaRav HaGaon R' Yosef Hersh Soffer shlit"a, a moreh tzedek. They deliberated for a longer time and worked out the various sides of the issue. Then the Rebbe gave his holy opinion and psak halacha, together with the dayanim shlit"a, on the difficult, complicated question.

The Rebbe entered for Shacharis at around 10:45.
- Baal tefillah: R' Yuda Eliezer Gottesman.
The Rebbe proceeded to Hallel and performed the holy service of the naanuim, and afterwards recited the Hoshanos.
The Spinka Rebbe shlit"a was present at Hallel and the naanuim, and after the Hoshanos the Rebbe greeted him warmly and wished him his holy blessing.

- Kohen: grandson of the Rebbe, Rabbi Nachman Kahana shlit"a, son-in-law of HaGaon HaTzaddik, rav of the Beirach Moshe beis medrash shlit"a.
- Levi: R' Moshe Yaakov Aharon Levi.
- Shlishi: the baal bris, grandson of the Rebbe, Rabbi Shalom Yechezkel Shraga Rubin shlit"a, son-in-law of HaGaon HaTzaddik, rav of the Yisroel Shalom beis medrash shlit"a.
- Revii: the Rebbe shlit"a.
- Hagbah: HaRav HaGaon R' Chaim Dovid Rubin shlit"a, rav of the Ohel Torah beis medrash in Williamsburg.
- Gelilah: grandson of the Rebbe, Rabbi Mordechai Yuda Halberstam shlit"a, son-in-law of HaGaon HaTzaddik, rav of the Yisroel Shalom beis medrash shlit"a.
After the Torah reading, dozens of guests who came for Simchas Torah b'tzeil hakodesh recited Birkas Hagomel.

- Mussaf: HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din of Beis Aharon shlit"a.
They concluded at around 1:15.

After davening, the simcha of the bris milah took place in the hall of the beis medrash.
The Rebbe shlit"a was honored with the roles of sandek and mohel.
- Sandek standing: HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Yekusiel Teitelbaum shlit"a.
- Brachos and naming: the grandfather, HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din of Beis Aharon shlit"a. "V'yikarei shemo b'Yisroel": 'Moshe,' after the holy Rebbe, the Beirach Moshe zy"a.
After the bris, mazel tov wishes were extended to the Rebbe shlit"a.

A few minutes later, the Rebbe entered the seudas bris in the large sukkah. The Rebbe recited the Ushpizin order and washed for the seudah. At the seudah, the baal simcha, the father of the baby, Rabbi Shalom Yechezkel Shraga Rubin shlit"a, spoke.
- The Rebbe honored the following with the zemiros: R' Yoshe Chaim Rubin shlit"a and Rabbi Elchanan Rubin shlit"a.
- Shir HaMaalos: Rabbi Mordechai Dov Rubin shlit"a.
- Grandson of the Rebbe, Rabbi Mordechai Yuda Halberstam shlit"a.
- Rabbi Elchanan Chaim Teitelbaum shlit"a.
- Yom Levashah: Rabbi Yechiel Menachem Rubin shlit"a.

The Rebbe delivered divrei kodesh and explained the connection between the mitzvah of milah and the mitzvah of sukkah. When Avrohom Avinu circumcised himself, he placed a power of mesiras nefesh into his children and grandchildren until the end of all generations. The four species correspond to the four limbs of a person, and we shake them toward the four directions to show that we are ready to give over all our limbs to Hashem and ready to sacrifice ourselves for Hashem. The Rebbe concluded with abundant blessings.

Before bentching, the Ushpizin hosts served kugels in honor of Yom Tov, and the Rebbe distributed shirayim.
For bentching, the Rebbe honored the grandfather, HaGaon HaTzaddik, rav of the Yisroel Shalom beis medrash shlit"a, and the family members recited the Harachaman's. They concluded at around 2:40.

After the bris, HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Yekusiel Teitelbaum shlit"a came for a Yom Tov visit. A pleasant conversation took place about the holy Sanzer Rav zy"a and about the minhagim of Yom Tov Sukkos, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessing upon him.

The Rebbe davened Mincha at around 7:10 in his holy home, at the Zanz Kehillah Ketana.
Between Mincha and Maariv there was an entry time for chassidim from overseas who came for Yom Tov of Simchas Torah b'tzeil hakodesh.

The Av Beis Din of Monsey shlit"a also entered the Rebbe's room after a shiur in the large beis medrash. A pleasant halachic conversation took place on several areas of Torah, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessing upon him.

- Gelilah: R' Yitzchak Shlomo Palatchek.
They finished at 12:35. There was a pause; the Rebbe went to the mikvah and then into his private room.

At around 1:35 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in the tallis and kapel of the holy Divrei Yoel zy"a, and wearing the kittel of his father, the holy Beirach Moshe zy"a. The Rebbe ascended to the Aron Kodesh and prayed a silent prayer, then began the festive drasha before the blowing of the shofar, on the verse "Ashrei ha'am yodei teruah." He explained that when Hashem looks upon a person, a blessing descends; therefore we ask "Hashkifah mi'meon kodshecha u'varech es amcha Yisroel," and this is what Avrohom Avinu prayed with the words "asher yei'amer hayom b'har Hashem yeira'eh," that Hashem should look upon Klal Yisroel,

and he spoke at length with words of mussar: when one considers that Hashem is looking at us, and how we look, sadly, smeared with aveiros, one must feel great shame. This feeling of shame alone is a remedy for a person, as Chazal say: "Whoever commits a sin and is ashamed, all his sins are forgiven." But one needs merit to be able to reach true shame. He urged that now, before the blowing of the shofar, we make a true cheshbon hanefesh, and perhaps in this way merit complete teshuva and true shame. He concluded with a blessing.

After the drasha the Rebbe recited Kaddish D'Rabbanan; they finished at around 1:55.
A bris for a newborn son took place at R' Yechezkel Shraga Landau (Montreal), where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

Afterward the Rebbe shlit"a ascended to the bimah.
The Sifrei Torah were held by:
- R' Mendel Levy.
- R' Aharon Spitzer.
The Rebbe recited "Min HaMeitzar," made the blessings with holy fire, and blew the tekios d'meyushav. The baal makri was HaGaon HaGadol, the Dayan and Moreh Tzedek shlit"a.

The Rebbe shlit"a approached the Mussaf prayer and recited "Hineni He'ani Mima'as." Kaddish was at 2:45. The baal tokei'a for the tekios d'me'umad was HaGaon HaTzaddik R' Shlomo Zevil shlit"a, Dayan and Moreh Tzedek of Beis Dov beis medrash.

"Shluchei amcha Beis Yisroel ha'omdim levakesh tefillah v'sachanunim..." As on the first day, the prayers were one piece of holy emotion, with weeping from time to time and a voice hewing flames of fire, which stirred the entire expanse of the beis medrash.

The following were honored with the Pesichos at Mussaf:
- R' Avrohom Shalom Landau.
- R' Avrohom Meir Rosenwasser.
- R' Dovid Shmuel Goldberger.
- Rabbi Eliyahu Shlomo Kahn shlit"a.
- R' Moshe Eliezer Katz.

R' Avrohom Yoshe Gefen and R' Yekusiel Yosef Neiman were honored with supporting the Rebbe at the kneeling.

R' Yitzchak Ehrenfeld led the Kuh, and the opening of Na'im Zemiros was led by R' Wolf Farkash. They finished at around 5:35.

After Mussaf a bris for a newborn son took place at the grandson of the Rebbe, Rabbi Avrohom Yoshe Heshel Rokeach shlit"a.
The Rebbe shlit"a was honored with sandek and mohel. The sandek who held the baby while standing: HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Yisroel Shalom shlit"a, Rav of the beis medrash. Brachos and naming: the Rebbe shlit"a. "V'yikarei shemo b'Yisroel": Meir, after the grandfather, HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din of Kozlov zt"l.
After the bris, joyous melodies were sung and the Rebbe wished the congregation "Mazel tov."
Then Mincha was davened. Baal tefillah: Rabbi Isamar Meizlish shlit"a. For Shemoneh Esrei the Rebbe davened with the tallis over his head. They finished at around 6:10.

The Rebbe washed for the seudas bris in his holy home together with the family.

At around 7:45 the Rebbe shlit"a entered for the continuation of the holy tish, the closing of the days of Rosh Hashana and the seudas bris, in the main beis medrash.

Kugel and sweet carrots were brought in. Melodies of the Yamim Noraim were sung, and Rabbi Hershel Kahn shlit"a sang a traditional melody of the holy R' Yisroel of Pikov zy"a, son of the holy Kedushas Levi zy"a.

- Atah Nigleisa: HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Yisroel Shalom shlit"a, Rav of the beis medrash.
- Yom L'Yabasha: the baal bris, Rabbi Avrohom Yoshe Heshel Rokeach shlit"a.

The Rebbe said Torah on the verse "Tiku vachodesh shofar bakeseh l'yom chageinu," explaining that Hashem has the law of a husband toward a wife in relation to Klal Yisroel: a wife who broke a vessel in her husband's house is exempt. When a Jew commits an aveira, even though he damages the upper worlds, he is exempt. Likewise, a get given when the husband is near is not effective; since Hashem's glory fills the whole earth, no get from Hashem to Klal Yisroel can take effect. And Klal Yisroel has the law of a wife toward her husband with respect to Hashem, and is therefore obligated in the obligations of a husband to a wife. He concluded with abundant blessings, saying that "zman cheiruseinu" has the numerical value of the year 5787, and that this year should be a "zman cheiruseinu": freedom from the yetzer hara, freedom from the Malach HaMaves, freedom from every worry and anguish, and freedom from the golus. "There is no free person except one who engages in Torah," a year of Torah study, until the coming of the true Redeemer, b'Bias Go'el Tzedek, Amen.

The Rebbe recited the blessing over the cup, and honored the family members with the Harachaman prayers.

- Maariv of Motzei Yom Tov: R' Shalom Meir Eckstein.
After Havdalah the Rebbe wished the entire congregation "a gutte voch, a gut yahr," and thanked the singers.
They finished at around 9:00, and the Rebbe shlit"a was escorted out with song and music.

May our prayers be accepted with mercy and favor.

Report
Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Ki Savo — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

On Erev Shabbos in the afternoon at around 6:00, the Rebbe went over to the new 'simcha halls' near his holy home in Kiryas Joel, where this week, for the first time, Shabbos sheva brachos simchas took place in the standard halls at the low price of $2,700. The Rebbe looked around at all the halls and heard a report from the askanim about the great success of the new halls, where there are already over 100 bookings, barely a month after they began accepting simchas, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessing.

Before candle lighting, the Rebbe put the shtreimel on the chassanim.
- The chassan Moshe, son of Meir Mendel Weiss.
- The chassan Chaim Shalom, son of Avrohom Eli Feigel.
- The chassan Moshe, son of Yechezkel Teller.
- The chassan Yisroel Meir, son of Yoel Berish Schwartz.

At around 8:10 the Rebbe entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and went to Mincha. Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Shalom Meir Eckstein. They finished at around 9:50. The congregation went over to wish a good Shabbos and the Rebbe went home to his holy residence.

At around 10:50 the Rebbe entered the holy tish in the Heichal HaMesivta together with the talmidei hayeshiva, and began Shalom Aleichem with emotion and sweetness, as is his holy custom.
- Eshes Chayil: the Rebbe's grandson, the bochur Yissachar Ber Teitelbaum, son of the Rebbe's son-in-law HaGaon Rabbi Teitelbaum, rav of Beis Medrash Berach Moshe shlit"a.
- Hagbahas HaKos: R' Moshe Yosef Wertheimer (Williamsburg).

Before the fish, the Rebbe delivered a dvar Torah-style address on the matters currently on the agenda, regarding the invitation received this week from the White House to come and meet with the President, may he be exalted. The Rebbe said that at first he declined, saying that there is no greatness at all in sitting with a gentile, such that one should give away so much time for it, especially now, when we are in the month of Elul and need to prepare for the Yamim Noraim and to learn the shiurim in the sugya of 'Chatzi Shiur' in the Heichal HaYeshiva. However, since it was said that help could come out of it for our fellow Jews who are in distress, it was agreed that he will indeed go, and hopefully it will be possible to accomplish what is needed. The Rebbe concluded with a request to the bochurim that they not lie in the news and not get worked up over it, as bochurim tend to do, but rather occupy themselves with the sugya of Chatzi Shiur, and recommended that one shiur in the sugya of Chatzi Shiur is worth more than the whole matter. They then continued with the lively tune of 'Asher Bachar Banu MiKol Am.'

- Kol Mekadesh: HaRav R' Simcha Shalom Steinberger shlit"a, rav of Beis Medrash Divrei Chaim.
- Menucha V'Simcha: HaRav R' Yeshaya Gedalya Kaufman shlit"a, dayan of Krali, Williamsburg.

The Rebbe said Torah on the verse 'V'atah hinei heveisi es reishis pri ha'adama' and explained that since Klal Yisroel has the status of a wife to her husband in relation to Hashem, and the halacha is that a wife who broke a vessel in her husband's house is exempt, therefore Klal Yisroel too is exempt, despite the fact that with every aveira one damages the upper worlds.

- Kah Echsof: HaRav Moshe Aharon Davidovits shlit"a, of Boro Park.
- Birkas Hamazon: HaGaon Rabbi Hersh Elimelech Teitelbaum shlit"a, rav of Beis Medrash Tefilla L'Moshe, Boro Park.

- Odeh: R' Noach Gefen.
- Shir HaMaalos: R' Moshe Goldstein.

The Rebbe said Torah on the verse 'V'atah hinei heveisi es reishis pri ha'adama' and explained that if one has a vitality of kedusha, he is called a "baal chai," and it is not said "one who has been seen and rejected is not seen again," and so teshuva works. This is what we pray, 'Kasveinu b'sefer hachaim,' that we be called "living" and not like the wicked, who "even in their lifetimes are called dead." He also quoted R' Shmelke of Nikolsburg zy"a that when the Beis HaMikdash stood, the ketores had two segulos, wealth and prevention of death, and in our times these two segulos have passed over to the mitzvah of Krias Shema. Through the mitzvah of Krias Shema one merits not to be written in the books of the dead, but to be called a baal chai, and for teshuva to work. He urged that now, in the second half of the month of Elul, one should make a cheshbon hanefesh about what he has accomplished in the first half of the month, and be careful to read Krias Shema properly, and thus merit teshuva.

- Yedid Nefesh: R' Yitzchak Markowitz.
- Kel Mistateir: HaRav Meir Meyer shlit"a (Boro Park).
The Rebbe recited the blessing over the cup and said Sheva Brachos.

- Maariv Motzei Shabbos: R' Eliezer Weiss.
After Havdalah the congregation went over to wish a good week.
They finished at around 10:40.

At around 12:00, a writing of the letters for a Sefer Torah that is being written by the distinguished philanthropist R' Moshe Goldstein took place in his holy home. The Rebbe wrote several letters and Simchas Torah melodies were sung. A conversation ensued with his son-in-law R' Chaim Hersh Mittelman about various housing projects in Kiryas Joel. The Rebbe drank a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessing.

Also, the beginning of the writing of a Sefer Torah took place, which is being written by R' Shalom Meir Eckstein. The Rebbe wrote several letters and Simchas Torah melodies were sung. A pleasant conversation ensued about the subject of sofrus and memories of R' Aharon Pollak a"h, an expert sofer. The Rebbe drank a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessing.

Also visiting the Rebbe in his holy home was HaGaon Rabbi Naftali Elimelech Reich shlit"a, av beis din of Przeworsk, Antwerp. A pleasant conversation ensued about the holy Yetev Lev zy"a, and he showed the Rebbe shlit"a a letter with an original signature of the Yetev Lev, which the Rebbe studied for an extended time. The Rebbe honored him with a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessing.

Also coming in to the Rebbe were members of the 'Mifal Chezkas Taharas' under the auspices of the Vaad HaMikvaos of the Beis Horaah of Kiryas Joel, who give hashgachos on many mikvaos throughout America. They delivered a report on their many activities to increase taharah among Jews and asked various halachic questions about how to conduct themselves in various situations, and the Rebbe blessed them with his holy blessing.

Afterwards a lechayim took place in honor of the simcha of the engagement of the mechutanim R' Yitzchak Eliakim Schwartz and R' Yoel Landau, among the leading askanim of our holy community everywhere. A kinyan was made and joyous melodies were sung. The Rebbe drank a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessing.

Likewise, askanim of the Vaad L'Tahareinu came in to the Rebbe and delivered a report on the campaign in the kollel fortress to go up a level in matters of technology. The Rebbe reviewed the commitments and the list of the hundreds of married men who took upon themselves not to own a device with text, and bestowed his holy blessing.

At around 12:45 the Rebbe went over to the halls of the Beis Rochel auditorium for the siyum on Maseches Kiddushin by over 400 talmidim of the ninth grade from both branches of Mosdos Kiryas Yoel, may Hashem protect them, with the participation of the parents and grandfathers of the bochurim.
A public examination on the entire Maseches Kiddushin took place, given by HaGaon Rabbi Meir Zwiebel shlit"a, one of the rabbonim of our community in Williamsburg, and during it the Rebbe also asked many questions of the bochurim, which the bochurim answered with good reasoning and understanding. Afterwards the bochurim together reviewed the entire masechta.
The honor of making the siyum was given to the Rebbe's grandson, the bochur Yosef, son of HaRav R' Chaim Yaakov Rokeach shlit"a, rav of Beis Medrash Kol Eliyahu; for the recital of the Hadran, the Rebbe's grandson, the bochur Elimelech, son of HaRav R' Chaim Hersh Ashkenazi shlit"a, rav of Beis Medrash Rav Tuv; and for Kaddish, R' Fishel, son of Yaakov Yisroel Freund. Afterwards the entire crowd broke out in a festive dance for an extended time.
The Rebbe drank a lechayim and wished the bochurim and the entire crowd well, and especially the menahalim, HaRav Yoel Spitzer shlit"a and HaRav Binyamin Ber Berkowitz shlit"a. He then delivered a dvar Torah and expressed the joy of so many bochurim completing a masechta, and said that there are 408 bochurim in the ninth grade, which is the gematria of "tzum kol mamon" ("to the voice of money") — when 408 bochurim are engaged in Torah, this arouses the "kol mamon," and we merit a good inscription and sealing. He concluded with abundant blessings.
Afterwards the Rebbe distributed to all the bochurim a Zemiros Berach Moshe. They finished at around 1:30.

From there the Rebbe went to be menachem avel at HaGaon Rabbi Kalman Halberstam shlit"a, rav of Beis Medrash Zanz, Kiryas Joel, who is sitting shiva for his brother HaGaon Rabbi Baruch z"l, the Zanz Rebbe of Boro Park. A pleasant conversation developed about stories of the house of Zanz, and the Rebbe wished the words of consolation.

The Rebbe said Torah on the verse "Hashem has said to you, you shall not return on this path again", which the darshanim of remazim say has the initials of Elul. He repeated the reason why Moshiach does not come after the month of Elul and Tishrei, when Klal Yisroel is engaged in teshuva and rectifying their deeds: after the holy days, "the children return to their borders" and everyone goes back to his old ways and does not maintain the good resolutions. However, the Yetev Lev says that the way to remain with the good resolutions is to be engaged in Torah, and that enables one to stand firm on the resolutions for an entire year.

- Yedid Nefesh: R' Shimon Yisroel Kahana (Montreal).
- Kel Mistateir: R' Aharon Brief (Monsey).
The Rebbe made the bracha over the cup and recited Sheva Brachos.

The davening concluded at around 10:50.

We are now after Tu B'Av, when the heralds begin to go out, and now is the time to prepare for Rosh Hashana with teshuva and rectifying one's deeds, and thus to bring about a good year, and not, Heaven forbid, to push it off and arrive in great shame at the last minute.

The Rebbe walked around to all the sections of the beis medrash, beginning with the gigantic main hall of the beis medrash, the galleries, and the Heichal HaTorah, and looked around for a longer time with great satisfaction at the thousands of learners, old and young. How splendid was the sight as the Rabban shel Yisroel walked among the thousands learning Torah, in the manner of "Moshe descended from the mountain to the people."

Afterwards the Rebbe went into Cheder David, where the Tehillim society was taking place together with the Talmud Torah students, and the Rebbe looked around for a while.

At the afternoon tish in his holy home, the Rebbe honored the bochur Moshe, son of HaGaon R' Zalman Leib Meisels shlit"a, with Ahavah Rabbah.
The Rebbe said Torah on the verse "These are the words that you shall speak to the Children of Israel," and explained that every Jew is alluded to in a letter of the Sefer Torah, and just as we know that there is no earlier or later in the Torah and all the letters are equally important, so too all Jews are equally important before the Ribbono Shel Olam.

The Rebbe made a bracha on the cup and recited the Sheva Brachos for several chassanim.

The Rebbe read the kesuba between Israel and their Father in Heaven, and they sang "U'vau Kulam" and "Elyonim Sasu."
They continued with Yom Tov melodies, and with Ahavah Rabbah the Rebbe honored Rabbi Chaim, son of HaGaon Rabbi Avrohom Meir Halberstam shlit"a.

The Rebbe delivered divrei Torah on the verse "And Israel camped there opposite the mountain," and explained that every Jew at Matan Torah heard the voice of Hashem, "Hashem spoke one thing, I heard two," but each one on a different level. At that time it was for each one on the level of the bnei aliyah, and each one was prepared to give his life to fulfill the entire Torah. So too, the Birchas Hashem is a general blessing and also contains a particular blessing for each person, "whatever he lacks." He concluded with a story of the holy Bnei Yissaschar zy"a, who blessed a Jew with all good things.

They continued with several melodies and the Rebbe stood up again to dance with fiery enthusiasm, and at the end the Rebbe recited three times "L'shana Haba'a B'Yerushalayim."

- Maariv: HaRav HaChassid R' Shlomo Moshe Klagsbrun.
After Maariv the Rebbe made Havdalah.

"And the Yom Tov would be made as he departed in peace from the holiness"

After Havdalah the Rebbe appeared on the bimah of honor in front of the Beis Medrash HaGadol in the presence of thousands of our chassidim, men, women and children.
Several melodies were sung, and after a few minutes the Rebbe delivered the "Birchas HaKodesh" on the verse "Thus shall you say to the House of Yaakov and tell the Children of Israel": every Jew needs to know that he is a child of Yaakov Avinu, and this alone should obligate him to conduct himself as befits a child of Yaakov Avinu in all matters. He concluded with abundant blessings for young and old in all good things.
It concluded at around 11:50.

As the Yom Tov was being escorted out, thousands of Jews remained in the street in the courtyard of the Beis Medrash HaGadol for an extended time, dancing joyously in dozens of circles of chassidim and men of deeds, with great praise and thanks to Hashem for the elevated times they had merited.

On Motzei Yom Tov, bochurim of our community from Montreal, who had spent Yom Tov b'tzeil hakodesh, came in to bid farewell at his holy home. The Rebbe asked them about their learning and bestowed his holy blessings.

Also held was the upsherin of the Rebbe's grandson, the child Elazar Rokeach, son of Rabbi Avrohom Yehoshua Heshil Rokeach shlit"a, son-in-law of HaGaon HaTzaddik, the Rav of the beis medrash, Yisroel Shalom shlit"a. The Rebbe cut several hairs, put on the yarmulke and tzitzis, and bestowed his holy blessing.

May Hashem help that we be able to continue the holiness and influence of the Yom Tov throughout the entire year, and grant strength and health to the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a to continue influencing us for many long, healthy years, and lead us toward our righteous Moshiach speedily in our days.

Thursday20 Iyar 57865/7/2026

Report
Tuesday, Beis Iyar — Lag B'Omer, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in Yeshiva Gedolah, the Birach Moshe branch. Before davening, the Rebbe lit five oil candles in honor of the Tanna, the Godly Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai.
Afterwards, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- The bochur Yudel Acker
- The bochur Menachem Mendy Brach
- The bochur Yitzchak Tambor
After davening, a lechayim reception was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Rebbe's private room.

At around 12:30, the Rebbe entered a grand lechayim reception in honor of the day, combined with a lechayim in honor of the kiddushin celebration of his grandson, the chasan HaRav Yechezkel Shraga Teitelbaum shlit"a, among the outstanding talmidim of the yeshiva, son of HaGaon Rabbi Yisroel Shalom shlit"a, Rav of the beis medrash.
Upon entering, the Rebbe danced in place for several minutes; then niggunim of inspiration were sung, and HaGaon Rabbi Yisroel Shalom shlit"a, Rav of the beis medrash, spoke.
The Rebbe drank a lechayim and bestowed blessings upon the chasan, the mechutanim, and the entire gathering.

The Rebbe honored individuals with the zemiros of the day.
- Bar Yochai and V'amartem: HaRav R' Meir Eliezer Friedman shlit"a, rebbi in our holy yeshiva.
- Amar Rabbi Akiva: the bochur Yechezkel son of Eliezer Dov Engel (Yerushalayim).

The Rebbe delivered words of Torah in honor of the day and expressed the emotions of the uplifting lighting ceremony, where thousands of Jews rejoiced with such fervor and joy beyond the natural order. This is only through the power of the Tanna Rabbi Shimon, who imparts holiness into everyone's heart—"Ashreinu mah tov chelkeinu." He continued with words of joy in honor of the kiddushin celebration, and noted that "Vayar Elokim es ha'or ki tov" has the same numerical value as "Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai"; "tov" refers to a shidduch, as in "matza ishah matza tov." This is the connection between Lag B'Omer and a shidduch. He blessed all the bochurim with good shidduchim.
The Rebbe recalled the uplifting Shabbos at the holy site of Meron this past Shabbos Parshas Toldos, which was an elevated Shabbos with elevated Jews, and its impact still lingers to this day. He said that at that time, all members of the kehilla were encouraged to be careful with reciting the Ketores, both at Shacharis and at Mincha. Its source is in the holy Zohar, where Rabbi Shimon says that the Ketores brings down all good and is among the most precious things before Hashem. The Rebbe learned the Zohar with the bochurim inside, in its holy language, and encouraged the bochurim to take upon themselves to be careful with reciting the Ketores, saying that this is a segulah of Rabbi Shimon himself and surely a segulah that helps. He concluded with his holy blessing.

The chasan said the pshetl and the traditional singing was sung. The celebration continued with joyous niggunim, and the Rebbe stood up and danced for an extended time, then danced with the chasan and in a circle with the chasan and the mechutanim. It concluded at around 2:00.

At around 6:00, the Rebbe traveled to Williamsburg for the tish in honor of Lag B'Omer.
The Rebbe arrived at around 7:20 at his residence next to the Great Beis Medrash. At around 8:00, the Rebbe entered for Mincha in the Great Beis Medrash, upper level, Meir Zelig. Before Mincha, the Rebbe lit five oil candles in honor of the Tanna, the Godly Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai. Baal tefilla: R' Shlomo Zalman Stein.

After Mincha, at around 8:20, the Rebbe entered the tish in honor of the day, in the presence of thousands of members of the kehilla, together with the tenaim celebration of the Rebbe's grandson, the chasan HaRav Yechezkel Shraga Teitelbaum shlit"a, son of HaGaon Rabbi Yisroel Shalom shlit"a, Rav of the beis medrash, and son-in-law of the Beis Aharon Rebbe shlit"a. The kallah is the daughter of HaGaon Rabbi Moshe Horowitz shlit"a, son of HaGaon Rabbi Naftali Horowitz shlit"a of Rachov, London, and son-in-law of the Rav of our kehilla, Boro Park 15, shlit"a.
Upon entering, the Rebbe greeted the distinguished grandfathers and rabbonim shlit"a and danced in place for several minutes, then washed for the seudah in honor of the day. During the seudah, there was extended singing and zemiros.
The merit of lighting the candles in honor of Rashbi was auctioned, and R' Yisroel Stern and R' Aharon Tzvi Mittelman were honored with lighting them.

At around 9:00, the reading of the tenaim took place.
A kinyan was made.
- Witnesses to the tenaim: R' Shaul Friedman and R' Aharon Moshe Schlager.
- Guarantors: R' Avrohom Brach and R' Yosef Mordechai Kahana.
- The Rebbe honored his mechutan, the Beis Aharon Rebbe shlit"a, with reading the tenaim.

Afterwards, the Rebbe warmly blessed the chasan, the mechutanim, the grandfathers, and the entire gathering. The celebration continued with joyous niggunim, and the Rebbe stood up and danced. The seudah continued, and after the meat course, the zemiros of Bar Yochai, V'amartem, and Amar Rabbi Akiva were sung.

The Rebbe delivered words of Torah in honor of the tenaim celebration, linking the joy of a chasan and kallah to Rashbi, and bestowed abundant blessings upon the chasan, the mechutanim, and the distinguished grandfathers, the rabbonim shlit"a. He then continued with aggadah and Torah thoughts in honor of the day, explaining that if a Jew, Heaven forbid, commits a transgression, the forces of impurity come and snatch away all his mitzvos; but if one performs mitzvos with affection, the forces of impurity cannot snatch them away. All this is according to the view of Rabbi Shimon, who holds that a "davar sheein miskaven" is permitted, since we follow intent. Similarly, when a person works with the aim of having money to be able to fulfill mitzvos with it, the work demonstrates his love of the mitzvah and is precious before Hashem.
The Rebbe continued with fiery words of chizuk: Rabbi Shimon instills holiness in every Jew so that we should have the strength to fight against impurity and the tests in the streets, both in the gentile streets and in the Jewish streets, the "camp of coarse people" etc. We must not conduct ourselves like them, nor learn from them, nor from their conduct, their melodies, their clothing, etc. The Rebbe spoke with pain about the melodies and dances sung and danced at many so-called frum weddings, which disgust every upright Jew, and said that it is a disgrace and a shame that this takes place at chassidic weddings: "You shall utterly detest it and abhor it."
The Rebbe praised the askanim of our holy kehilla in Williamsburg who brought about an awakening in matters of tznius among righteous women, with lectures and gatherings, both regarding women's hair and women's clothing. Likewise regarding boys' clothing, to make garments that close right over left, as the holy Rebbe R' Mendele of Rimanov zy"a, whose yahrzeit falls this evening, the 19th of Iyar, strongly urged.
The Rebbe continued and said that twenty years ago, on Lag B'Omer 5766, on the site of our Great Beis Medrash, the "Chaburas Yesodei HaTorah" was founded. Baruch Hashem, we stand today twenty years later, and the number of those learning Torah has multiplied, both in our holy kehilla and throughout the world. They learn daf after daf, perek after perek, and masechta after masechta; they review and are tested. "Ve'atah hayisi li'shnei machanos": our holy kehilla, Baruch Hashem, has two chaburos, and most members of the kehilla are connected to one of them. He spoke words of preparation for the upcoming Yom Tov of Shavuos and encouraged learning the holy sefer Bnei Yissaschar as preparation for receiving the Torah.
The Rebbe mentioned the Yetev Lev institutions that the Rebbe, the holy Divrei Yoel zy"a, established right after the war, which later ignited all the institutions of our holy kehilla around the world. He said that this must be the first priority for every member of the kehilla, and that it should be supported with a generous spirit, because it is the father of all our institutions! He concluded with abundant blessings for the entire gathering.

The celebration continued with Lag B'Omer niggunim, and the Rebbe stood up and danced with fiery enthusiasm.
For bentching, the Rebbe honored the grandfather, HaGaon Rabbi Naftali Horowitz shlit"a.
It concluded at around 10:30. On his way out, the Rebbe blessed the kallah.

A few minutes later, the Rebbe entered for Maariv in Heichal Tehillos Yosef. Before Maariv, the Rebbe lit candles on the occasion of the holy hilula of the holy Rebbe R' Mendele of Rimanov zy"a. Baal tefilla: R' Shlomo Zalman Stein.

After Maariv, the Rebbe comforted the mourners of the Peketa family, who were sitting shiva for their father, R' Shalom Peketa a"h.

Afterwards, the Rebbe comforted the mourners of the Franzoz family, who were sitting shiva for their father, R' Dovid Franzoz a"h.
Then, at around 11:45, the Rebbe traveled home to Kiryas Joel.
