On Erev Yom Kippur, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a performed the minhag of Kaparos in his holy home. The Rebbe recited the "L'shem Yichud" with great emotion, shedding rivers of tears, and then recited "Bnei Adam" while circling the chicken overhead, saying "This is my exchange," as is customary.

Afterwards, the Rebbe shlit"a arrived at the mehudar shechita facility in Kiryas Joel, where the Rebbe checked the chalef (shechita knife) of
the shochet, the elderly R' Noach Gefen shlit"a. This is the last year that R' Noach is shechting at the shechita facility. After the shechita, the Rebbe blessed him with long life and good years.

The Rebbe shlit"a then performed the mitzvah of covering the blood, checked the chalafim of the shochtim, and paid a brief visit to the mehudar shechita facility.
