At around 10:50 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the pure tish in Heichal Tehillos Yehosef together with close to 200 talmidim of Shiur Gimmel from all the branches of the yeshivos ketanos, and began, in his holy way, Shalom Aleichem with emotion and sweetness.

In the afternoon at around 7:10 the Rebbe shlit"a entered to learn Pirkei Avos in the great beis medrash, which was packed with an enormous crowd of thousands of men.
The Rebbe shlit"a spoke on Perek 6, Mishnah 3, "One who learns from his fellow even a single letter," and explained it with words of derush and aggadah. He began with an explanation that Jewish children merit that their Torah is fruitful and multiplies: a single letter can be expounded in many ways when the letter is in holiness and purity. He also explained the mishnah, in the order of Alef-Beis from Alef to Yud, with 16 approaches, which refer to various matters in preparation for receiving the Torah. He continued with words of mussar on "sanctify yourself in what is permitted to you," on spending Yom Tov of Shavuos in a chassidic manner, and on guarding the eyes during the summer days. He also mentioned the learning schedule of last year for the second day of Shavuos before davening, that it should continue this year as well. They finished at around 8:15.

At around 12:15 the Rebbe shlit"a went to visit the home of the esteemed philanthropist R' Yoel Landau in honor of the engagement of his daughter, mazel tov. There the Rebbe also donated a respectable sum toward the new building "Hachnasas Orchim" in the shul courtyard, in the ancestral city of Sighet, may it be rebuilt. A longer conversation ensued about our holy Rebbes, the Etzei HaTemarim zy"a, and about the tzaddikim and kedoshim from whom the chasan draws his fine lineage, along with various recollections from the days of the holy Rebbe zy"a. The Rebbe drank a lechayim and warmly bestowed his holy blessings upon R' Yoel, the chasan, and the mechutanim.
