Wednesday, Parshas V'Zos HaBracha — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the morning, before Shacharis, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Yechezkel Shraga Stein, where the Rebbe was sandek.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek on the occasion of the pidyon haben simcha of the newborn son of his grandson Rabbi Asher Anshil Ashkenazi shlit"a, son-in-law of the Rav of Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek, HaGaon shlit"a.

Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
The bochur Chaim Meir Teitelbaum.
The bochur Kalman Eliezer Dana.
After davening, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the heichal of the beis medrash. Then the Rebbe went into his private room, where he put on Rabbeinu Tam tefillin.

After a few minutes the Rebbe came to the pidyon haben seudah in the heichal of the beis medrash. After washing, the pidyon took place, with the Rebbe's grandson Rabbi Nachman Kahana shlit"a, son-in-law of the Rav of Beis Medrash Beirach Moshe, HaGaon shlit"a, serving as the kohen.
During the seudah, the father of the baby shlit"a and the Rav of Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek, HaGaon shlit"a, spoke.

After the meat course, the Rebbe delivered words of Torah, in which the Rebbe linked the mitzvah of pidyon haben with the mitzvah of sukkah, and told a story about the Shinova Rav z"l concerning pidyon haben, and concluded with a blessing.
For Birkas Hamazon, the Rebbe honored his grandson the kohen. The seudah ended at around 1:20.

In the afternoon hours, the Rebbe shlit"a examined, in his holy home, the hundreds of talmidim of the 9th grade, the yeshiva preparatory class (machina) from both branches of Mosdos Kiryas Yoel, on Maseches Kiddushin, which they learned over the past year. The Rebbe examined the bochurim for an extended time and then warmly blessed the principals, the rabbeim, and all the bochurim.

In the afternoon at around 7:30 the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home.

Entry times for kvitlach were from around 8:15 until 11:15 at night, in his holy home on Ohel Street.

The Rebbe shlit"a read the tenaim in the tenaim hall in his holy home for the mechutanim R' Shmuel Shimon Berkowitz - R' Yosef Raphael Hopfer.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 11:15.
