Tuesday, Parshas Vayeitzei — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

Before Shacharis, the Rebbe shlit"a telephoned to visit the ill HaGaon HaGadol, zkan rashei hayeshivos, Rabbi Elyakim Schlesinger shlit"a, l'refuah shleimah, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivas HaRama in London. The Rebbe inquired about his welfare, asked after the state of his health, and warmly bestowed his holy blessings.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Beis Medrash of the Maharsha in Kiryas Joel together with the talmidim of Yeshiva Gedolah Esek HaTorah of Monsey.
Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Shlomo Yoel Kornbluh.

After davening, the Rebbe recited the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 18, verse 40, after which a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochur in the hall of the beis medrash.

In the morning hours, the Rebbe shlit"a visited the matzah bakery of Kiryas Joel, followed by the weekly visit to the mehudar slaughterhouse.

In the afternoon, the Rebbe shlit"a went up to the Yeshiva hall of the Kedushas Yoel branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the talmidim of the yeshiva in his private room, and at around 5:00 the Rebbe davened Mincha in the yeshiva.

In the evening, the Rebbe shlit"a traveled to Williamsburg for the weekly yechidus hours.
The yechidus hours there ran from about 9:00 until 12:30 at night, at his holy residence on Hooper Street.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 11:30, and then continued receiving the public.

After the yechidus hours, the Rebbe shlit"a went over to the sheva brachos celebration for his grandson, the prominent askan R' Chaim Levi of Vienna, which took place at the home of the chasan's father-in-law, the mechutan HaRav HaChosid R' Yoel Frankel. A warm conversation developed about the uplifting Shabbos Shekalim last year, 'Shabbos Yeshiva Shel Maalah,' with the talmidim of the yeshivos in Europe and Eretz Yisroel in the city of Sighet, about which the Rebbe expressed, 'That was a Shabbos to remember!' The Rebbe drank a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessings upon the chasan and the mechutanim, and especially upon the two grandfathers, HaRav R' Chaim and HaRav R' Meir Stern, and then went out to dance with the chasan and the mechutanim.
At around 1:00 the Rebbe set out on the way home to his holy residence in Kiryas Joel.
