Today, at the private Sheva Brachos "in our holy courts" hosted by the grandfather, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, for the family members, the Rebbe — together with his sons and sons-in-law — filled in letters "in the Rebbe's Sefer Torah."
During the seudah warm niggunim of "Torah" were sung. The meshorer R' Yoshe Mendlowitz was also honored to sing the new niggun "Sisu V'simchu," which he composed in honor of the hachnasas sefer Torah. A longer conversation also took place with the Rebbe's sofer, HaGaon R' Shaul Leib Zaldan. During the holy words, the Rebbe spoke warm words about hachnasas sefer Torah, especially the words of the Chasam Sofer, that it should be done publicly, which instills yiras shamayim in the children. For bentching, the Rebbe honored the sofer, HaGaon R' Shaul Leib Zaldan, and the first brachos were given to his firstborn son, our teacher HaGaon Rabbi, the Av Beis Din and Rosh Yeshiva of the community, shlit"a, with the final brachah given to the father of the kallah, HaGaon shlit"a.
