Thursday, Parshas Ki Seitzei — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning before davening, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Yoel Glanzer, at which the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

Before Shacharis, the heads of the administration of our holy mosdos in Boro Park contacted the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a and relayed the joyous news that our holy mosdos, Baruch Hashem, prevailed in court in the compromise-free battle to save the future of pure chinuch in New York. The judge, Baruch Hashem, ruled that due to the new favorable law for the benefit of chinuch, which was carried out by the askanim of our holy kehilla in accordance with the holy instruction of the Rebbe shlit"a, the State Education Department cannot disqualify our holy mosdos from continuing to be counted as a legal institution. The Rebbe shlit"a discussed all the details of the ruling and expressed great nachas ruach at this joyous development for the benefit of our pure chinuch, now and for all generations.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in the Yeshiva Gedolah, Beirach Moshe branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put on tefillin for the bar mitzvah bochur, son of HaGaon Rabbi Hersh Elimelech Teitelbaum shlit"a, Rav of the Tefilla L'Moshe beis medrash of our holy kehilla in Boro Park.

During the Torah reading, the Rebbe was called up for Shlishi. After davening, the shofar was blown and the Rebbe recited ten chapters of Tehillim as is customary. He then delivered the daily Tehillim shiur on chapter 27, verse 3. Afterwards, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochur in the Rebbe's private room, where a lovely conversation took place about the customs of putting on tefillin.

Around 1:40 the Rebbe arrived at the Heichal HaMesivta, Vayoel Moshe branch, where the Rebbe delivered the fourth sugya shiur on the topic of mitzvah haba'ah ba'aveirah as preparation for the Shabbos Shuva derasha. After the sugya shiur, the Rebbe engaged in pilpul with the bochurim as usual. It concluded around 2:15.

Reception hours at the Rebbe's holy home on Ahel Court were from 6:30 until 12:30 at night.

Around 7:00 the Rebbe officiated at kiddushin at the chuppahs of the mechutanim:
- R' Yekusiel Yuda Malach and R' Avrohom Kalman Eliezer Massri, in the Kinor David halls.
- R' Moshe Yitzchak Heller and R' Yoel Lichtman, in the Beis Rochel Paradise halls.
- R' Chaim Binyamin Eliezer Wertheimer and R' Yoel Gross, in the Ginas Klein halls.

After the chuppahs, the Rebbe paid a shiva call to the Gottlieb family, who were sitting shiva for their brother R' Chaim Moshe Gottlieb a"h.
Afterwards, the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home.

Around 10:30 the Rebbe went down to the tenaim hall in his holy home, where the Rebbe read the tenaim of the mechutanim R' Avrohom Mordechai Zev Schwartz and R' Zalman Leib Farkash shlit"a.

The Rebbe davened Maariv around 12:30.
