Sounds of Joy and Salvation in the Tents of the Righteous

At around 12:15 the Rebbe shlit"a arrived at our great beis medrash in Williamsburg for the simcha of the bris milah of the newborn son of his grandson Rabbi Yoel, son of the Rav of Williamsburg, HaGaon shlit"a, and son-in-law of HaGaon the Av Beis Din of Linsk shlit"a.

Upon arrival, the Rebbe shlit"a looked in on the hundreds of kollel yungerleit in Williamsburg.

Afterward the bris milah took place in the main hall of the beis medrash. The honor of the Kisei shel Eliyahu was given to HaGaon, the Av Beis Din of Williamsburg shlit"a. The sandek was the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, and the mohel was HaGaon, the Av Beis Din of our kehilla in Boro Park shlit"a.

For the blessings, the Rebbe shlit"a honored the grandfather, HaGaon the Rosh Yeshiva of Beis Meir shlit"a. The baby was named in Yisroel Avrohom Chaim, after his great-grandfather, the holy Rebbe R' Avrohom Chaim of Linsk zt"l.

Afterward the seudas bris took place in Heichal Tehillas Yehosef. Divrei Torah in honor of the simcha were delivered by the father of the baby, Rabbi Yoel shlit"a, and by the grandfathers, HaGaon the Av Beis Din of Boro Park shlit"a and HaGaon the Rosh Yeshiva of Beis Meir shlit"a. Then the Rebbe shlit"a delivered holy words. The Rebbe based his remarks on the verse "And G-d said to Avrohom: And you shall keep My covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations," and explained that Hashem helped Avrohom Avinu fulfill the mitzvah of bris milah, and that the deeds of Hashem are eternal. Therefore, not only the orlas habasar is removed, but also the orlas halev. He concluded with holy blessings for the father of the baby, the grandfathers, and the entire assembly.

The honor of Yom Libashah was given to R' Yoel HaKohen Glantz shlit"a. For Birkas Hamazon the Rebbe shlit"a honored the grandfather, HaGaon the Av Beis Din of Linsk shlit"a. The event concluded at around 1:45.

After the bris, the Rebbe shlit"a comforted the mourners of the family of R' Shimon Friedman a"h.

Then the Rebbe shlit"a arrived for a brief visit to the new building, the Binyan HaYeshivos, of the yeshiva ketana of our holy mosdos in Williamsburg, which houses 4 branches of the yeshiva ketana: "Nezer HaTorah – Ahavas HaTorah – Chochmas HaTorah – Mivtzar HaTorah." The Rebbe shlit"a entered all the yeshivos and looked around with great nachas at the learning, and then offered holy blessings to the principals and to the administration of the kingdom of Torah.

At around 3:15 the Rebbe shlit"a paid a bikur cholim visit to the elderly HaGaon R' Moshe Gross shlit"a, Rav of Satmar-Sarmash, in his home in Williamsburg. A pleasant conversation ensued, with recollections of days gone by. The Rebbe drank a lechayim and gave holy blessings.

In the afternoon at around 5:20 the Rebbe shlit"a came to the hall of our kollel in Williamsburg, where he delivered a holy Torah discourse, the opening of the zman, to the hundreds of kollel members, with words of drush and pilpul for an extended period. Afterward the Rebbe spoke words of guidance, in particular that they should daven on Shabbos and during the week in our batei medrash throughout the city. He concluded with holy blessings and spoke in praise of the kollel, which is renowned and is among the finest places of Torah in the city.

After the discourse, at around 6:00, the Rebbe davened Mincha together with the kollel members.

In the evening the Rebbe shlit"a officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the mechutanim, the distinguished askan and philanthropist R' Hershel Silberstein and R' Moshe Yuda Bleich, at Ateres Rizel hall.

In the evening there were yechidus hours inside the Rebbe's chambers from around 7:15 until around 12:30.

During the yechidus hours, the ceremony of the start of writing a Sefer Torah took place for the Torah scroll being written by R' Moshe HaKohen Glanzer. The Rebbe shlit"a wrote the first letter and gave holy blessings.
