Thursday: 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At around 8:30 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the local beis medrash for Shacharis. During the Torah reading, the following were honored. Pesicha: HaRav R' Chaim Eliezer Davidowitz shlit"a; Kohen: R' Shmuel Moshe Friedman; Levi: R' Yosef Moshe Ungar; Shlishi: the Rebbe shlit"a; Hagbah: HaGaon R' Naftali Hirtzka Zwebel shlit"a; Gelilah: R' Yitzchak Elimelech Weinberger.

After davening, several guests came to greet the Rebbe. Afterward the Rebbe walked back to his lodging, during which a beautiful conversation took place about the stories and accounts of the holy R' Moshe Leib of Sassov zy"a, whose yahrzeit fell that day, and about the tremendous activities of the renowned Merkaz Ezra V'Eitza in Eretz Yisroel.

In the late morning the Rebbe shlit"a spoke by phone with HaGaon R' Yechezkel Shraga Teitelbaum shlit"a, grandson of our holy Rebbes and maggid shiur in our holy kehilla in Manchester, who was setting out on a trip to the city of the Avos, Sighet, for the yahrzeit of the Eitz Chaim zy"a on Shabbos Kodesh, 6 Shevat. The Rebbe inquired about the itinerary of the trip, asked that he remember him personally, and wished that he accomplish only good.

At around 11:45 the Rebbe went for a walk in Nevei Desheh, during which wonderful conversations took place in Torah thoughts and stories of tzaddikim. At the start of the walk, the Rebbe met HaGaon R' Pinchas Shdravitzky shlit"a, kashrus supervisor of the Hisachdus HaRabbonim. He greeted the Rebbe and presented him with his sefer as a gift. A lengthy conversation then ensued about the entire order and process of shechita with all its halachos and chumros, and about the kashrus of foods in the past and today.

In the evening at 5:30 the Rebbe entered for Mincha. Between Mincha and Maariv, HaGaon R' Naftali Hirtzka Zwebel shlit"a, Rosh Kollel of Williamsburg, delivered a drasha on matters of Nittel, and Maariv was davened at the time of Rabbeinu Tam.
