On Erev Shabbos afternoon, the Rebbe shlit"a placed the shtreimel on the chassan Meir Yoel, the bochur, son of Moshe Yekusiel Schwartz.
On Friday night at around 8:40, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha. Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Shalom Yitzchak Weider. After Maariv, the Rebbe went to the amud for Sefirah.
Davening concluded at around 10:10, and an appeal was made for the institution Menucha V'Kedusha in the holy city of Beit Shemesh. The crowd then went over to wish a gut Shabbos, and the Rebbe shlit"a entered his private room.
A short time after davening, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the tish in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with the talmidim of the mesivta, and began, in his holy manner, 'Sholom Aleichem' with feeling and melody.
