Report
Motzei Shabbos, Hoshana Rabbah night, at around 10:20, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered the Beis Medrash HaGadol for the recitation of Mishneh Torah and recited the prayer before the reading. The baal koreh was R' Yoel Hirsch. They finished at around 12:00.

After a short break, the Rebbe shlit"a entered for the setting of the pure table, in honor of the Melaveh Malkah seudah and the ushpizin of Dovid Malka Meshicha, in the large sukkah adjacent to the Beis Medrash HaGadol.

After reciting the Seder HaUshpizin, the Rebbe shlit"a washed for the Yom Tov seudah. At the lechayim said after the fish, the Rebbe wished, "A gmar chasimah tovah, a good blessed year." During the elevated tish, the Niggunim of the Yamim Noraim were sung with great arousal, while the Rebbe shlit"a shed rivers of tears.

With the Shir HaMaalos, the Rebbe shlit"a honored:
HaGaon HaTzaddik R' Yoel Halberstam shlit"a, Rav of our kehilla in Bloomingrove.
R' Naftali Horowitz shlit"a (London).
R' Yitzchak Horowitz shlit"a (London).
HaRav HaGaon R' Yitzchak Shalom Friedman shlit"a, moreh tzedek in our kehilla.
R' Shmuel Dovid Markowitz (Williamsburg).
HaRav HaGaon R' Dovid Perl shlit"a, maggid shiur in our kehilla.

The Rebbe shlit"a said a Torah thought in the voice of a child, in tears, on the verse "Shir HaMaalos, mi'maamakim kerasicha Hashem," and explained that when one does teshuva, even teshuva out of fear, one receives as a gift from Heaven the ability to do teshuva out of love. On a day like Hoshana Rabbah, when "the lion has roared," every Jew hears Hashem's call and is aroused, and his heart is warmed.

Birkas Hamazon: the Chedvah'n, HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of Beis Medrash Ohel Feiga shlit"a. They finished at 1:30.

After the tish, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash before a large crowd for the recitation of Tehillim. The baal tefillah was R' Asher Yaakov Eckstein. After each sefer, the Yehi Ratzon for Hoshana Rabbah was recited. They finished at 3:40.

On the day itself, in the morning at 10:45, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in the tallis, kappel, kittel and vestel of the Rebbe, the Divrei Yoel zy"a.

The Rebbe shlit"a proceeded to the brachos, Pesukei D'Zimra and Shacharis, and davened in the nusach of the Yamim Noraim. The Rebbe recited the Hallel HaGadol and the Shirah verse by verse.

During Hallel, the Rebbe shlit"a led the holy service of the Nanuim with deveikus, arousal and weeping, while the entire congregation of thousands upon thousands of Jews sang the holy niggunim in tears, as is customary.

After Hallel, the Rebbe's attendant, R' Yehoshua Mendlowitz, removed the rings from the lulav.

The Rebbe shlit"a began the fiery "Drasha of Hoshana Rabbah" with the well-known parable of the holy Kedushas Yom Tov zy"a, which our holy Rebbes would recite, and spoke at length with stormy weeping and tears, which swept the entire beis medrash into awesome weeping.
Afterwards the Rebbe continued at length with elevated concepts and words of arousal, in tears, in honor of the day:
Hoshana l'maancha Elokeinu: When one esteems a Jew, even the weakest, against the nations, the Attribute of Judgment also agrees, and even teshuva out of fear helps so that intentional sins become merits. On this day of the ushpizin of Dovid, we pray "Mi'maamakim kerasicha Hashem," the prayer of Dovid HaMelech, even when one finds himself in the depths of the kelipos, "Hashem, hear my voice." We make the Nanuim back and forth to bring Jews back to closeness with Hashem.
Hoshana l'maancha Bor'einu: In Heaven each generation is judged according to its state, and in this lowly generation one can be brought close even with a small teshuva.
Hoshana l'maancha Go'aleinu: The kelipos obstruct the prayers of Yisroel, and through the mikvah their power is nullified. Chassidim and men of deed who follow the light of the Baal Shem Tov and are careful with the mikvah are worthy that all the requests of their hearts be fulfilled for the good.
Hoshana l'maancha Dorsheinu: By way of derush: with the fact that Jews are in exile, we see that one expounds according to the kri; it comes out that even if one is only destined to conduct himself well, the Jews are already worthy of being "His people and the flock of His pasture."
Hoshana l'maan Amitecha: According to one's deeds an angel is created, but only through the Torah, the Torah of truth, "Are not all My words like fire?" which separate from harm.
Hoshana l'maan Brisecha: Intentional sins become merits only through teshuva out of love. Bris milah is a sign of love from Hashem, and through it Hashem causes love to shine into the Jewish people.
Hoshana l'maan Gudlecha v'Sifarticha: The lulav in the right hand and the esrog in the left, as halacha requires, and like the minhag of the Divrei Yoel zy"a also during the Hoshanos, so that there are two times the Name Yabok, which sweetens the judgments and is the source of all blessings and good. The Rebbe concluded the drasha with abundant blessings.
The drasha ended at approximately 2:35, and they began the Hakafos around the beis medrash. The Rebbe shlit"a recited the Hoshanos with arousal and weeping. Between the Hakafos, the Av Beis Din of Williamsburg shlit"a blew the shofar as is customary. After the circling, the piyutim were recited, and after Kaddish Titkabal the Rebbe beat the Hoshanos 5 times and recited the Yehi Ratzon as is customary.

Hotzaah, Hachnasah and the verses of Shema Yisroel: R' Mordechai Leib Glick, gabbai of the Beis Medrash HaGadol. Kohen: Rabbi Shmuel Hersh Kahana shlit"a (Monsey). Levi: R' Yudel Wertzberger. Shlishi: R' Yitzchak Frankel (Montreal). Revii: the Rebbe shlit"a. Hagbah: HaRav HaGaon R' Yehoshua Klein shlit"a (menahel of Yeshiva K'tana in Yerushalayim). Gelilah: R' Avrohom Shlomo Katz (London).

Musaf: Rabbi Chaim Halberstam shlit"a. The kohanim duchened.
Immediately after Musaf, Mincha was davened. The baal tefillah was HaRav HaGaon R' Mendel Wertzberger shlit"a, dayan and moreh tzedek of our kehilla in Montreal. They finished at 4:30.

A few minutes after Mincha, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the tish in honor of the day in the large sukkah and recited the Seder HaUshpizin. The hosts of the ushpizin brought delicacies, and with the soup kreplach were served as is customary. Yom Tov niggunim were sung.

With the zemiros, the Rebbe honored: R' Yoel Krausz shlit"a, son of HaGaon HaTzaddik R' Shmuel Binyamin shlit"a (London). Birkas Hamazon: HaRav HaGaon R' Ezra Moshe Kahira shlit"a, moreh tzedek of our kehilla in Williamsburg. They finished at 5:20.

Immediately after the tish, the Rebbe went to the mikvah to purify himself in honor of Yom Tov.
