After davening, the following brissim took place:
- The newborn son of R' Yoshe son of R' Yitzchak Friedman (of Williamsburg), where the Rebbe served as sandek.
- The newborn son of R' Lipa Halpert, where the Rebbe served as sandek.
Afterward, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochur and the baalei brit in the Heichal of the Beis Medrash.

In the afternoon, at around 7:20, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered the Beis Medrash HaGadol for Mincha. The baal tefillah was HaRav R' Dovid Stohl.

After Mincha, the Rebbe went up to the bima for the uplifting gathering of "ShaiVas Mayim Shelanu" (our water drawing), in the presence of thousands of Anash. Many songs of joy and inspiration were sung.
The Rebbe shlit"a delivered fiery holy words, with lengthy words of guidance and preparation for Yom Tov Pesach. He explained that with water, we see that by nature it rises back up to the same height from which it came, and from this we learn that if we follow the ways of our forefathers and remain connected to earlier generations, we too can rise higher and higher. This is the joy of "our water." He continued with emotion and weeping about the tremendous feelings and the merit we have to be able to fulfill all the mitzvos of the Yom Tov, especially the mitzvah of eating matzah, which brings down so many blessings, spiritual and material, and concluded with powerful words of blessing.

The singing of inspiration and preparation continued. The Rebbe stood up with holy emotion and recited the Leshem Yichud for the mitzvah, drew "our water" from the spigot flowing from the spring on the bima, and poured it in, along with several pitchers, counting the pitchers by the letters Aleph, Beis, Gimmel, etc. He then honored the Rabbanim HaGaonim, the sons and sons-in-law of the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, and the rabbanim and dayanim of the kehilla, to draw water. With the joy of a mitzvah and holiness, he then broke into fiery dancing with a flame of holiness for an extended time. It concluded at around 8:30.

Immediately after the gathering, Maariv was davened. The baal tefillah was HaRav R' Baruch Mordechai Markowitz.

After Maariv, the Rebbe went home to his holy residence. The Rebbe set out the 10 pieces around the table as is customary, recited the blessing on the removal of chametz with enthusiasm, gathered the pieces, and then continued, with physical exertion, to conduct bedikas chametz throughout the entire house. At the end, the Rebbe recited Kol Chamira with outpouring of the soul.

Afterward, the Rebbe distributed the sefer Yetev Lev to the bochurim who helped over the last weeks to prepare the Seder night in the Rebbe's home for the hundreds of chasanim, talmidei hamesivta, who are preparing to take part in the elevated Seder tish b'tzeil hakodesh. The Rebbe thanked them and wished them his holy blessing.

Then at around 3:30, the Rebbe went over to our kehilla's matzah bakery on Dinov Street, where the Rebbe looked over the arrangement, even for an extended time, in all the departments, and afterwards poured water into the flour and separated challah, and gave his holy blessing to the management of the bakery.

The First Days of Yom Tov Pesach 5786 b'tzeil hakodesh of the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

- Maariv: HaRav R' Yosef Dovid Levy shlit"a.
The Rebbe proceeded to recite Hallel with fiery enthusiasm and great arousal. They finished at around 9:45. The Rebbe went up to the aron kodesh and wished the entire congregation 'a gut Yom Tov', and the Rebbe immediately went home to his holy residence.

Before the Seder, the Rebbe shlit"a distributed matzos to the grandchildren.

At around 10:30, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the large hall in his holy residence for the holy Seder night, wrapped in his tallis over his kittel, and wearing a silver kappel. Like olive saplings around his table sat the hundreds of chasanim, talmidim of our holy yeshiva, who merited to participate in the Sedarim on the night of the sanctification of the Yom Tov of Pesach, as the king in his entourage. The tables were set royally with a masterful arrangement, row by row, which the devoted house bochur arranges every year with much effort and rare skill, so that everyone in all corners could take part in the elevated moments b'tzeil hakodesh of the fulfillment of the mitzvos of the night, the recitation of the Haggadah and divrei Torah, and the recitation of Hallel with holy emotion and outpouring of the soul, which was conducted with deveikus and the joy of a mitzvah.

The Rebbe arranged the ke'arah, and recited 'Kadesh' and all the simanim in a pleasant voice, in the accepted nusach of our holy Rebbes zy"a.

During the Seder the Rebbe said 19 divrei Torah, for Kadesh, Karpas, Yachatz, Ha Lachma Anya, Hashata Hacha, Avadim Hayinu, Maaseh B'Rabbi Eliezer, Baruch HaMakom, Chacham Mah Hu Omer, Rasha Mah Hu Omer, Yachol Me'Rosh Chodesh, V'Eten L'Yitzchak, Chishev Es HaKetz, V'Hi She'amdah, B'Damayich Chayi, Rabbi Yosi HaGelili Omer, Barech, the Fourth Cup, and Shfoch Chamascha.

The Rebbe said 'Hineni muchan u'mezuman' for the mitzvah of the first cup, stood up, said the l'shem yichud of Kiddush and made Kiddush with holy fiery enthusiasm. Holding up the cup: the Rebbe's grandson HaRav R' Lipa Teitelbaum shlit"a, son of the Chadash Ben, HaGaon Rav of the beis medrash, Barech Moshe shlit"a.
After Kiddush, the Rebbe signaled that everyone should make Kiddush.

Immediately after Maggid, the Rebbe said the Hineni muchan for the mitzvah of retelling the Exodus from Egypt with holy fire, uncovered the matzah, and recited the entire Haggadah with emotion and melody.

Before Mah Nishtanah, the Rebbe clapped his hands together, palm on palm, following the custom of his father, the holy Rebbe, the Beirach Moshe zy"a, according to the Belz custom.

At Mah Nishtanah, all the grandchildren together asked the questions in Yiddish. At the makkos, the Rebbe poured out wine from the cup as is customary, and immediately had it taken out.

After the second cup, the Rebbe removed his tallis, washed his hands and said the l'shem yichud and the brachos of Hamotzi and Al Achilas Matzah with holy emotion, and ate the kezeisim of matzah, and later the kezeisim of maror and korech, with deveikus.
At Shulchan Orech, the Rebbe ate the egg from the ke'arah, and immediately had the afikoman brought in and ate it before chatzos with fervor. The afikoman was 'stolen' as is customary, by the Rebbe's grandson, the bochur Yechezkel Shraga, son of HaGaon Rav of the beis medrash Yisroel Shalom shlit"a. After finishing the afikoman, the Rebbe waited for the entire Yom Tov meal to be served to all the participants, and in the meantime the Rebbe studied various Haggados.

The Rebbe bentched on the cup as is customary.

The cup of Eliyahu was filled, the Rebbe said Torah, and the door was opened. After the tefillah of Shfoch Chamascha, which was drawn out for several minutes with arousal and emotion, the Rebbe's fourth cup was filled from the cup of Eliyahu, and shirayim was sent down to all the participants as is customary. Then they continued with the recitation of Hallel with great arousal and longing, especially at the piyut of Nishmas Kol Chai, where the Rebbe prolonged with holy emotion, in tears and outpouring of the soul. After the Seder they continued with the piyutim, zemiros and Yom Tov niggunim. They finished at around 3:45, and the Rebbe went up to his private room, where the Rebbe recited Shir HaShirim with deveikus and holy emotion.

The board members expressed their great thanks and said that this is already the second check of one million dollars this year, 5786, that the Rebbe put together from the generous members of our community, following the check of one million dollars the Rebbe gave during the holy trip to Eretz Yisroel last month of Kislev for the Chanukah distribution. During the tish the Rebbe shlit"a delivered words of Torah 8 times.
First Torah thought on the verse "Let my soul be given to me at my request," explaining that every Jew prays to be saved from the yetzer hara and asks "Let my soul be given to me at my request." The Rebbe wept greatly for a longer time, and continued, saying "It is a time of trouble for Yaakov": a salvation that comes from the side of holiness endures, whereas if it comes from the side of impurity it is only temporary, as one sees clearly now with the war through the impure state, where each time they say that now the enemies have been defeated, yet every few months the danger arises anew. The Rebbe said that the Jews in Eretz Yisroel are in a time of trouble and live in fear both from the pursuers and from the "rescuers," and we pray that they be saved by Hashem alone.
They continued singing "V'Hi She'Amda" and "Hashem Hu Malkeinu," and the Rebbe stood up and danced.

Second Torah thought on the verse "And when she came before the king," explained within the topic of the inheritance of Yaakov and Esav in two worlds, and continued that we see in the Megillah that Queen Esther entered the inner court of the king while Haman entered the outer court. This is the difference between a Jew and a non-Jew: for a Jew the main thing is the inner essence. The clothing reflects the inner essence of a person, and from a person's clothing one sees what the person is, both throughout the year and also in how one dresses up on Purim. He spoke out, denouncing today's bekeshes and garments that are becoming more and more modern.

Third Torah thought on the verse "And when she came before the king," explained in the manner of a derush within the topic of "Eretz Yisroel is ours, held from our forefathers."

The Rebbe sang Adon Olam with outpouring of the soul, and at "Ein Od Milvado" he stood up and danced.

Fourth Torah thought on the verse "Let my soul be given to me at my request," bringing out that with the power of unity one can bring about all salvations, and this was Queen Esther's request, "Go, gather all the Jews," and thus the miracle of Purim was brought about.

The Rebbe sang the well-known niggun "Let us tell of the virtues of Jewish children" twice.

Fifth Torah thought on the verse "If it pleases the king," bringing out that to subdue the power of the kelipos one can do so either with mesirus nefesh or through the mitzvah of bris milah. The Rebbe brought out the praise of Klal Yisroel, that despite the long, bitter galus we endure, we proclaim on Rosh Hashana "HaMelech" and "Asher Bachar Banu Mikol Am," and we crown Hashem as King over us with mesirus nefesh; this is a straightforward advocate for Klal Yisroel on the Day of Judgment.

The Rebbe sang "HaAderes VeHaEmunah" and asked the elders of our community who remembers when it was sung by the holy Divrei Yoel zt"l.
Then the Rebbe fulfilled the custom of his grandfather, the Atzei Chaim zy"a, to smoke on Purim and thereby burn the kelipos in the smoke. The Rebbe gave a reason for it: since the burning of the kelipos, which concludes on Erev Pesach, begins on Purim.

The Rebbe smoked a cigar, and then gave it to R' Yedidya Klagsbrun to pass on to his father, R' Shlomo Moshe.

Then the Rebbe continued with the sixth Torah thought, that Klal Yisroel has both a different soul than a non-Jew and a different body than a non-Jew, since it is connected with the parchment of a Sefer Torah. Therefore, even if the doctors say about an illness that there is no cure for it, that is only for the gentiles, but for Jews there is a cure for all illnesses. The Rebbe wished a complete recovery for all the sick of Israel.

Seventh Torah thought on the statement of Chazal "The eyes of the poor are lifted to the reading of the Megillah," saying that this corresponds to the tenth of "nor anything that is your neighbor's" from the Ten Commandments, and he spoke at length in praise of the Even Chesed fund, which distributes shtreimels to Jews. He also honored all those named "Yaakov" to go up onto the tish to collect money from the assembled for the benefit of the Rebbe's fund, the "Even Chesed Fund."

Then the Rebbe delivered the eighth dvar Torah and brought out that tzedakah purifies the air, and thus prayers are accepted. The Rebbe concluded with abundant blessings for the entire assembled.

The Rebbe stood up and danced with holy fire to "Achakeh Lo" for a longer time.
Then cabbage was brought in as is customary, and the Purim Rav, HaRav Rabbi Naftali Moshe Weiss shlit"a, went up on the table and sang the well-known niggun of the holy Kedushas Levi zy"a, "Ribono Shel Olam, let us make a trade."

The Rebbe honored the following with the zemiros.
- Asher Heni: HaGaon HaTzaddik R' Chaim Yosef Wertzberger shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Hunyad.
- Shoshanas Yaakov: HaGaon R' Meir Eliezer Friedman shlit"a.
Then HaGaon R' Meir Eliezer shlit"a continued with words of arousal regarding reciting Krias Shema at its proper time and in its proper manner.

For Bentching the Rebbe honored the Rav of Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek, HaGaon HaTzaddik shlit"a.

After a few minutes the Rebbe returned to the sanctuary of the beis medrash for Maariv davening, baal tefillah: HaRav Rabbi Hershel Kahn shlit"a. "Baruch Hashem L'Olam" was not said, as is customary. They concluded at around 12:00.

The Rebbe stood up and danced to "Shebishfeleinu zachar lanu" for an extended time with great fervor.

Second Torah thought on the verse "Eis tzarah hi l'Yaakov," explaining that because Klal Yisroel does not ask questions on Hashem, which comes from the merit of Avrohom Avinu, who did not ask a question on Hashem at the Akeidah, in that merit Hashem too does not ask any question on us and bestows all good.

Third Torah thought on the verse "Im al hamelech tov," explaining that through the Name Havaya, which points to "hayah, hoveh, v'yihyeh" (was, is, and will be), meaning that for Hashem past, present, and future are all one, Hashem joins the future good of Klal Yisroel, and we emerge vindicated in judgment.

Fourth Torah thought on the verse "Eis tzarah hi l'Yaakov," explaining that Hashem has the obligation of a husband to a wife toward Klal Yisroel and is obligated in all of a husband's obligations to Klal Yisroel.

Fifth Torah thought the Rebbe brought out that through doing chesed without asking questions, Hashem too bestows all kinds of blessings without questions. The Rebbe honored all those named Yitzchak to go up to the table to collect money from the public for the Rebbe's fund, the 'Kupas Avnei Chesed.'

Afterwards the Rebbe delivered the sixth dvar Torah and brought out that through doing chesed, a call of affection is aroused from Hashem to Klal Yisroel, and we merit "koreh lah vehi ba," and, chas v'shalom, there will be no need for striking with a stick. The Rebbe concluded with abundant blessings to the entire gathering.

He emphasized the importance of learning Torah, in whose merit the miracle of Purim occurred, and said that one who is involved in Torah changes the entire person: his davening is different and his entire conduct is different. He also conveyed the joy of the occasion, as a Heichal HaTorah is being inaugurated specifically for learning. It was indeed built for the members of our holy kehilla, but it is made for all the residents of the city; anyone seeking a quiet place to learn morning, afternoon, and evening is invited to increase the number of those learning Torah. We have already seen this in other places, and it has been shown that they are a holy people, and the number of those learning Torah increases, and this changes everyone's conduct. The Rebbe praised the esteemed philanthropists of our holy kehilla, who spared no expense to fulfill "And they shall make Me a sanctuary, and I will dwell among them," and likewise the esteemed askanim of the Heichal, "May Hashem repay their deeds, and their righteousness stands forever." He concluded with praise of our holy kehilla and bestowed abundant blessings upon the entire public.

However, with every sigh and thought of regret, the evil angels are rendered powerless. He continued with words of arousal, saying that we are already in the last week of the Shovavim days, and if we make a cheshbon hanefesh of what we accomplished in the past weeks, the situation is very bitter. Still, we must remember that we need to tear ourselves free and plead that we merit true thoughts of regret, and after that Hashem will help and nullify all the angels created from one's aveiros, who do not let him do teshuva, and once they are nullified, we will merit complete teshuva.

Afterward, the Rebbe went up to the Divrei Yoel branch of the yeshiva, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the talmidei hayeshiva in his private room. At around 5:30, the Rebbe davened Mincha in the yeshiva.
After Mincha, a group of bochurim entered for a private audience. They had headed the large melaveh malka that took place this past Motzei Shabbos for the talmidim of the mesivta, to strengthen themselves regarding limiting wedding expenses, and in particular regarding music, to use only "DJ" music. The Rebbe heard a report on the activities of the askanim and strongly encouraged the bochurim askanim to succeed in saving as much Jewish money as possible, and bestowed his holy blessing.

In the evening, the Rebbe officiated at kiddushin at the chuppahs of the mechutanim:
- R' Simcha Naftali Klagsbrun and R' Yisroel Asher Weiss in the Kinor Dovid halls.
- R' Yoel Berach Lichtman and Rabbi Yechiel Michel Traeger shlit"a in the Beis Rachel Paradise halls.
- R' Yisroel Mordechai Weissberg and R' Moshe Eliyahu Banda in the Ginas Klein halls.

Yechidus hours were from 8:00 until 9:00 in the evening at his holy home on Ohel Street.
During the yechidus hours, Rabbi Yaakov Yosef Twersky shlit"a, son of the Rebbe of Machnovka-Monsey shlit"a and son-in-law of HaRav HaTzaddik Rabbi Yitzchok Twersky shlit"a, son-in-law/son of the Skverer Rebbe shlit"a, entered for a private audience to receive the Rebbe's blessing on the occasion of the marriage of his daughter, mazel tov, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessing upon him.

At around 9:10, the Rebbe entered the tish in honor of Tu B'Shevat in the Heichal HaBeis Medrash HaGadol, in the presence of thousands of anash.
They prolonged the singing and zemiros in honor of the day. On the tables lay many magnificent displays of various kinds of fruits in honor of the day.
The Rebbe drank lechayim and wished the entire tzibur well, and the singing continued. The Rebbe made a brachah on a date and tasted from the esrogim, and shirayim was distributed.

During the tish, the Rebbe delivered five divrei Torah.
- First dvar Torah: We increase in fruits on Tu B'Shevat, since it is forty days before the creation of the world according to R' Yehoshua. Through making the brachos, the angels' claim of "din davar meitzar" is nullified, since there is a loss to the seller; as angels cannot make brachos, their claim is voided. And the singing continued.

- Second dvar Torah: Another reason why we increase in fruits on Tu B'Shevat: on this day Hashem conceived the thought to create the world so that the Jewish people would be able to receive the Torah. We increase in fruits, which point to mitzvos d'rabbanan. There is no claim that the giving of the Torah was coerced, since Moshe Rabbeinu added one day on his own. The Rebbe added that according to most opinions, mitzvos d'rabbanan are indeed akin to d'Oraisa. Therefore, one must say that the fruits are matters of "milei d'chasidusa" and minhagei Yisroel, and by fulfilling minhagei Yisroel, the claim that the giving of the Torah was coerced is nullified.
The Rebbe mentioned what was said on the night of Shabbos Kodesh Parshas Toldos, may it come upon us for good, in the holy place Meron, regarding saying the Parshas HaKetores every day before Shacharis. Among chassidic Jews, one is also careful to say Korbanos before Mincha. It is neither d'Oraisa nor d'rabbanan but a minhag Yisroel that is brought in the Shulchan Aruch. There are many such minhagei Yisroel every day, such as going to the mikvah, etc. Likewise there are many chassidic prohibitions; there are things a chassidic Jew does not do, whether regarding vessels, clothing, and many other matters. Tu B'Shevat is the day on which one must accept upon himself to uphold all minhagei Yisroel and not belittle any chassidic matter. He also urged preparing for Yom Tov Purim, may it come upon us for good, by learning the holy sefer Kedushas Levi, which instills vitality in a Jew. And the singing continued.
- Third dvar Torah: Another reason why we increase in fruits: there is another reason why it would be a loss for Hashem if He gave the Torah to the angels. When a Jew does teshuva me'ahava, his intentional sins become merits, and Hashem derives great pleasure from this, which an angel cannot provide. The Torah and mitzvos are the Eitz HaChaim, and the merits created from the aveiros are the fruits. Tu B'Shevat falls at the end of the Shovavim days, which are auspicious for teshuva and rectifying one's deeds, and many merits have already been created in the past weeks. We eat fruits to allude to the fruits that were created, and because of this we were able to receive the Torah. The Rebbe concluded that "Chamisha Asar" has the letters of "Shaarei Simcha," since through merits one brings down joy and salvation, and wished that we merit to increase in fruits and that the gates of joy be opened for each and every one, collectively and individually.
The Rebbe tasted from the esrog, and the singing continued with joyous melodies.
- Fourth dvar Torah: Quoted from the Bnei Yissaschar that on Tu B'Shevat one prays for a good esrog. An esrog is "eitzo u'piryo shaveh," which means that on Tu B'Shevat one must pray that his tree and its fruit be equal, and that the children and grandchildren be upright, so that we may see pleasure and nachas until the end of all generations. They sang "Vihi Zari" with great hisorerus for an extended time.
- Fifth dvar Torah: Tu B'Shevat is the Rosh Hashana for trees. At the creation of the world, the grasses made a kal vachomer from the trees, that they too should grow according to their kind. By Yitzchok Avinu it says that he was blessed through a kal vachomer: since Yishmael has all good, surely Yitzchok must have. This applies even when one is not in such a good state spiritually, but one is not worse than Yishmael. Therefore, on Tu B'Shevat, the Rosh Hashana for trees, when the grasses made a kal vachomer from the trees, we also make the kal vachomer of Yitzchok from Yishmael, and abundant parnassah is bestowed on each and every one. The Rebbe concluded with abundant blessings for the entire tzibur.
The tish ended at around 11:10. After a short while the Rebbe entered for Maariv in the Heichal HaBeis Medrash. The baal tefillah was R' Mordechai Peketeh.

He called upon the distinguished philanthropist R' Akiva Hersh Klein, a member of the building fund committee who heads the entire project, who among other things presented to the donors a report of everything done until now and all the plans for the future. He thanked several philanthropists and askanim who invested great efforts so that the project could come to be, first and foremost the driving force of the project, the distinguished philanthropist R' Avrohom Brach, the distinguished philanthropist R' Yechezkel Dovid Berkowitz, and the Yerushalayim resident, the distinguished philanthropist R' Avrohom Yehoshua HaKohen Glanz, and last but beloved, the esteemed R' Chaim Shlomo Fischer.

Then, beautiful verses were sung with heartfelt emotion by the guest from Eretz Yisroel, R' Yisroel Adler, who with good taste and sensitivity conveyed the greatness of the holy occasion.

He also mentioned in praise the host, the distinguished philanthropist R' Zalman Leib Kappel.

Then the Rebbe shlit"a used the opportunity to thank and praise the Creator of all worlds for His abundant mercy and kindness with the new law in New York, which will, b'ezras Hashem, save pure chinuch. He presented all the details of the bitter decree: several years ago, when preparations were being made for the gubernatorial elections, a quiet meeting was held with the governor, and she was asked to try to halt the decree. The Rebbe explained at length how the process of making a law in New York works, and that it is very easy for a politician to promise, but one needed to make sure to request something that she can actually arrange.
The Rebbe praised the architect of the plan, the esteemed R' Yaakov Zusman Soifer, who over the past few years invested difficult work and much money. He also praised the esteemed R' Yoshe Oestreicher, who is well versed in Albany and had a large part in this, and the esteemed R' Gedalya Segedin, who used his political connections in Albany to bring it about. He particularly emphasized how the opponents of our chinuch fought tooth and nail against the law, but with Heavenly help the law was changed in our favor. Although one cannot know what will be, since the government will try to find loopholes and interpret the law the opposite way, and it may still end up in court, we must thank Hashem for the past and ask Hashem for the future. He also particularly praised the esteemed R' Simcha Eichenstein and the esteemed R' Aharon Bentzion Wieder, the local assemblymen, who helped greatly.

At the conclusion of the words of holy address, the Rebbe shlit"a wished abundant blessings to all the philanthropists, that they merit all the blessings mentioned in the Torah.
